My Wife grew up in Erie, so we were back to visit for the Holidays. I have to say, I wish this place were out by us in the Chicago Suburbs.Great coffee(by great I mean amazing), super friendly and competent staff. And an adorable atmosphere. We were in town for a week and the only day we didnt stop by was Christmas(because they were Closed). Erie needs more businesses like this, its helping breathe life back into that city and I hope that they continue to be successful. Also, for the quality of product you get from there, they could be charging much more and I would gladly pay it.If you visit Erie, PA or even happen to live there, do yourself a favor and make sure you visit them sometime. You will thank me. I promise you!
The location is perfect, in the middle of downtown. I highly recommend it. It is decorated well, too.
The staff were so nice! I love the flexibility of having a coffee made here with several milk alternatives such as oat milk and different sweetener options as well. 😋
Good espresso downtown Eerie. The space is nice (but not yet open for sit in, it seems). We had a cappuccino and ice latte, and both were good.
Fine espresso and other coffee drinks, but safety still has indoor seating off the table.
Their coffee is excellent, though its sad that you can no longer sit inside due to the pandemic. Still a must try.
It’s one of my favorite afternoon work walk locations! The staff is always super friendly, helpful and wonderful! They even converted my tea drinking husband to a coffee lover!
Outstanding customer service. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Delicious options and beautifully designed interior. The owner often highlights local artists and community meetings.
Always great service every time I visit. Ordered coffee to serve at a birthday party and they helped me figure out what I wanted and then went above and beyond to make sure I was a satisfied customer.
Best coffee in the city. It’s been wonderful to see them survive through the pandemic. So excited they are able to start returning to their normal hours. I spent many hours in this coffee shop pre-Covid working on my computer. Atmosphere is lovely, the staff is great, and they always try to accommodate customer feedback/needs to the best of their ability.
I found this place when I had time to kill in Erie. This is a really modern coffee shop. Its small with limited seating, but I thought the environment was great to study or do work. They have nitro coffee, drip coffee, lattes, and the whole list of coffee shop goods. Dont forget the baked goods or special drinks. Staff are really friendly and know their usual customers.Great expereimceYou have to pay for street parking 9 $0.25 per 20 min)
My absolute favorite coffee shop! We get all of our grounds from here too (which must be in stock at all times at our house)! I am excited for them to reopen as it’s a great meeting spot downtown.
The coffee is okay. They have changed their business to take out only. They don’t want people to sit down so they don’t deal with cleaning and disinfecting, they just want your money without work. They have even tied down the table and chair outside so you can’t sit outside either.
Great coffee and great customer service from heather. Way better than Starbucks.
Good coffee in a nice location. Worth the stop.
Friendly and inviting atmosphere 👍☕
Goose Feathers is a popular destination for very inexpensive but delicious fare. Quiche is an especially good value. I had the Reuben, which I love. The location is perfect, in the middle of downtown. I highly recommend it. It is decorated well, too.
Looking for breakfast or lunch? Look no more...this little business is always full of customers and once you dine here you will know why. My egg with melted cheese on a croissant was delicious and the cup of fruit was so fresh. My friend had the Belgian waffle. We ate here EVERY morning!!!
I feel like I needed to get a Cappuccino and not just the regular blend
I had to try this place when I finally made it to Erie. Mainly because its my family that owns the business. After having tried their coffee though, that is what will be bringing me back every time I visit. It was exceptional. Very proud of my cousin, Hannah, who started this business. Shes a great woman and obviously knows how to make a mean cup of coffee.
On my last trip to Savannah, I had breakfast at Goose Feathers and was happy to return this trip. The coffee is excellent and service southern friendly. My croissant egg sandwich was warm and fresh. The panini my friend had was delicious. The place has a good vibe with families, singles, couples and a wide range of ages.
I live and work nearby, and while Im not a frequent coffee drinker, I appreciate a good cup every now and again. The atmosphere here is welcoming and laid back, so it isnt a hard decision to spend the extra time waiting for a pourover or french press.Pro tip: split a large french press with a friend for $3.50 - it ends up being the equivalent of about 2 large coffees.Edit: they increased the large french press to $5. Still a good deal.
We love their coffee but can’t really go to that area all the time so today we were craving their coffee and drove there. We got there at 3:40pm today Saturday. My husband rang the bell twice and waited but nobody came to the window. What a disappointment! Things like this make you not trust small businesses. If you dont live close I guess call first before you go. It’s annoying but is not worth driving to a close business. Note: these pregnant mom and dad had to go get a Starbucks afterwards.
Great place, very clean, modern, inviting... what struck me was the clarity of the menu on the wall. I ordered a medium roast brewed with a chemex. What a clean cup of excellent coffee. My only complaint is that I would have liked it about twice as big...Parking was a breeze, I found a spot right in front of the building (metered parking but 25 cents gets you 20 minutes, so no big deal). Some of the usual coffee shop crowd were present (with the fancy retro-esque headphones and laptops) but there was plenty of seating available. This will be added to my Erie-visitation schedule for sure.
Very good coffee. Not many places make good cortados but when its done right like they made mine at Ember + Forge its outstanding. They have an order window on the side of the building so theyre COVID safe and they make ordering super easy.
Its practically a storage room ... theres nothing to see . They dont have most of the menu items in stock .
Truthfully Im not a coffee drinker. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smoothies and hot chocolate that you can get. Decent prices. The space is so cozy with big windows to people watch. Comfy couches to chat with a friend. And larger tables for group gatherings for coworkers or students. Its a local spot you are bound to love. In the bustling city it is a cup of peace and a snip of enjoyment youll want to come back to again and again.
All fresh pressed real made coffee hot chocolate and the staff is friendly .
Some seriously good coffee is served here. The shop is interesting and cool. I love to get in to study here when I can. The seats fill up quick fyi. The baked goods are delicious too.
Honestly Ive never had a better, more balanced cup of coffee or tea. Its all so smooth and just... Just done right! Its a little surprising. Cute minimalistic decor and very low key. Lots of students doing homework but I mean, its right by a university. A wonderful place to sit and chat
Great coffee and atmosphere
Best London fog I’ve ever had. Need to figure out what tea they use! They measure and time everything perfectly.
I attended on a breezy fall afternoon, and there were about 6 people in line. The woman at the counter was nice and made each person feel important. I did not feel bad about waiting in line. I ordered an apple chai, and was not disappointed. The way I see it, if you are looking for that 5 minute coffee, this is not where you want to go. If you are willing to take your time and enjoy life at its fullest, than I would highly recommend.
Fast and friendly, they jump to serve!
Good cup of coffee and friendly staff. The atmosphere was comfortable as well.*Edit: Ive upgraded to five stars due to another recent stop. The coffee is fantastic, and the staff remain remarkably fast and friendly. The extra star also comes from the managements clear commitment to delivering a quality product and experience. I appreciate them reaching out for feedback on how to improve overall rating. In general this is just a quality establishment that should be given a look if you are in the area!
Best coffee in Erie!
Great customer service. The coffee flavors are unique. I have a ice decaf latte with pistachio flavoring. It was amazing!
Unfortunately couldnt go inside due to COVID-19, but their walk-up window is super cute and provides excellent service! The 8-1-Forged house blend is super tasty! Hoping and looking forward to go inside and sit and chill one day
Great coffee, and the walk up window to order was convenient.
Great, comfortable, coffee shop. Can go to just hang out and chill, work on homework, have a work meeting, really a very versatile space. Also, the staff is very nice and well versed in the different coffee options. Highly recommend as one of the best coffee shops in Erie ( only negative, I wish they had even just a small food selection for lunch!)
Great coffee and service
Good vibes inside, great coffee, and the most reasonable prices Ive seen for coffee. One of the things I appreciate is that they have different options in how you want your coffee brewed. They have drip, French Press, Chemex, and pour over options. They get coffee from Phoenix in Cleveland which are really good beans and Im a big fan. Would recommend this place.
First timer. Good coffee and a nice walk around downtown. Thanks!!
Espressos are good. I would give a five if there were more flavor options. Otherwise great! Pet friendly. You can walk in with you pup, order and leave. Unfortunately you cannot stay in with your pup but you can order and wait. Which is a super plus plus plus for me. Weather permitting they have tables outside
Food was so delish. The service here is better than most.
Welcoming atmoshere for a younger crowd and students; nice indie vibe and delicious coffee & treats at an affordable price. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I even struck up a casual conversation with an international filmmaker passing through while enjoying my drink. This place is full of interesting people with a chill vibe. Definitely making Ember + Forge my new study spot!
This place is amazing whether your a coffee nerd or just looking for a low key caffeine boost. Tyler the barista was most helpful with recommendations and when we spilled a drink on accident was quick to brew us another.
I love stopping into Ember and Forge on the way to work. The coffee is the best in Erie, and the staff are all lovely. There is one staff member, I really need to get her name, she has short hair and glasses, she is always so sweet!
Coffee aficionado I am not. Hannah helped me find a great tasting cup of coffee. Fast and friendly, great atmosphere. Payment is easy with a credit card and squareup. The staff engage the customers like friends, great to see this interaction.
Wonderful coffee and knowledgeable staff! I love the atmosphere here. It’s great having such a nice coffee spot downtown. Have to go back soon!
Super aesthetic coffee shop in the downtown area. Beautiful place to relax, great wifi and excellent coffee/ tea. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly - even went outside to give my dog lots of love and treats! Just happened upon this place while driving through town but it is worth a visit for sure!
Great pour over coffee. I usually do decaffeinated coffee and they make it fresh one cup at a time. A wonderful full body blend and not acidic. Cant wait to get back.
Love this coffee shop. Many items to choose from and the environment/staff are so inviting. Could spend hours here just drinking coffee!
Great little coffee shop that is similarly priced to Starbucks, but yummier! Very nice staff, friendly environment. I prefer it to Starbucks. Also, they rotate the art on the walls which is neat. I don’t know what it is about the place that attracts such a wide variety of interesting people, but it does.
Cute downtown coffee shop with exposed brick and comfy seating. Very reasonable prices and quiet atmosphere. Dog friendly patio in the warmer months :)
Absolutely love this spot! My favorite place to get a cup of caffeine or delicious pastry. The atmosphere, the music, and the decor are a nice calming experience along with the fresh drinks freshly brewed right in front of you. The prices are very reasonable as well. Highly recommend
Pros: Good atmosphere, great location, friendly staff! I was in and out with no problem and it looked like a cool place to hangout.Cons: the coffee, I ordered the house blend drip coffee. I took one sip and it reminded me of the bitter taste of Starbucks coffee. Not sure if they are adding too much, or if their house blend is a dark roast. I will have to go back and see if a lighter roast will change my opinion.
Friendly service, good coffee. Nice atmosphere.
Locally owned coffee/tea shop. Products sourced in town too.Limited selection of baked goods, some gluten free. Free wifi. Good meeting spot.
Great place for some proper coffee and the smoothies kept the kids very happy. Loved the photo exhibition, reminded us of travels overseas. Relaxing but chic modern and clean design elements. Personally, I adored the plants and ceramic planters for an extra personal touch of green. A nice break while seeing the sights and especially after visiting the Childrens Museum around the corner with our 4 and 8 year olds.
Great coffee, comfortable chairs. Outlets at most tables. Lots of windows and outdoor seating. Quiet music playing. Some bakery items but not a huge selection.
Helpful, smiling wait staff. Delicious coffee! Nice atmosphere. And did I mention - Delicious coffee!⛾
Ive stopped in many times for coffee, but recently had a meeting at Ember + Forge. The environment is relaxing and there is always a great mixture of patrons. Ill definitely be back!
On a guys road trip to Erie. Two different people at our hotel recommended Ember for coffee. Its right on the main street in the center of Erie. The coffee, pastries and ambience were terrific. Huge windows open to State Street (the main street) flooding the seating area with natural light and allowing views. Seating was comfortable for relaxing and conversation or using the tables more serious endeavors. The pastry selection was nice and the portions a reasonable size and thankfully without the calorie reminders found in other coffee shops. My dark roast Black Bird coffee was among the smoothest tastiest Ive had. Give this a try - you will not be disappointed.
I stopped in this morning on recommendation from a colleague. Im so glad I did! First off, the manager (I didnt catch her name, sorry!) was so lovely. Second, this is hands down the best cup of coffee in Erie. I had the Blackbird blend and its the perfect cup of dark roast. Third, its super cute inside! I will definitely be back.
Great coffee served any wAy youd like. Secretly excellent tea (banana nut is awesome if in stock).
If you’re looking for the best coffee in Erie, you will find it here. 🔥 I moved to Erie in October and was so thrilled to find out that Ember + Forge was opening soon. This place really does live up to the hype. The atmosphere is so relaxed, the employees are awesome...even their music choice is great. So glad to have found this gem in Erie. Love bringing friends and family here to hang out. If you’re not a coffee drinker- their tea selections are great as well. I tried the berry black tea blend today and it was perfect after being out in the snow all day. 👌
Love visiting locally owned and independent shops, googled to this one while visiting Erie and it was a great choice.Environment is amazing and comfortable. Staff is ultra friendly and knowledgeable of their drinks. The drinks themselves were absolutely stellar. Might be my favorite nitro cold brew Ive tasted to date. Will definitely go out of my way to visit this shop again when I visit Erie.
Love this LOCAL choice for all things coffee or tea. Area artists featured in exhibits. Comfortable seating options. Community programs and gatherings. Skip the mega chains and support the LOCAL option!
Loved it! I had a wonderful cup of hot coco and sat down on one of the cozy sofas and watched out the window on a rainy Erie afternoon. The shop has a very chill atmosphere, a good place to sit with your laptop or enjoy a beverage with a friend.
Delicious coffee, chill atmosphere, and friendly staff. What more could you want? Highly recommend.
Good coffee. Locally owned and operated. Better than the big box Seattle coffee shop up the street. Atmosphere is pleasant except for one very obscene, now-removed piece of factually inaccurate political artwork that divided us as a community.
Really nice and cozy interior, friendly staff, always a good experience. Most importantly for me - GREAT tea. I dont drink coffee but I like to stop in with a book now and then just for the atmosphere or to meet friends. Im always skeptical of coffee shop tea, since its understandable that a coffee shop would focus more on coffee. But I have never had a bad tea at E+F. Their darjeeling is amazing. Thanks E+F for making a place for us tea drinkers too!
Love the ambiance and feel of this corner coffee shop. Im not a coffee person but the tea and hot chocolate is amazing! Will continue coming back for great service, delicious drinks, and cozy atmosphere.
Unique atmosphere. Coffee is basic. Offering more flavored coffee options would be nice as well as more snack options.
First time there today.Pros: friendly and very helpful staff, rich coffee flavor, cute designs on top of the coffee, cozy environment, and nice musicCons: menu (a piece of paper on the counter rather than on the wall and doesnt provide enough details about the coffees), very small coffee size for the price, and the one coffee didnt have the flavor in it at allI know theyre trying to make a profit and I understand, but the price for the small amount of coffee isnt worth another visit for me. It is a nice coffee shop though!
Great coffee and good vibes. Their space is modern and classy with a lot of natural light.
Its a wonderful experience. Just a suggestion, being coffee connoisseurs at this establishment. Lets do catering boxes of coffee for area businesses. This can increase your sales and benefit the community.
Good coffee, nice location for pre theatre or event coffee. Limited dessert selection but with Ye Old Sweet shop across the street not a problem. Seating can be a challenge at times.
Great locally owned coffee shop. Lots of drink choices. Special pop-up events, etc.
The girls were so nice! I had brought my 1 1/2 year old with me and she made a mess and they were so helpful and friendly
This is the hip new coffee shop that Erie needed. I love the lattes and hot chocolates. Perfect place to meet with friends or get some work done.
Pleasant environment, charming employees. The iced latte is like liquid heaven (with caffeine)! And I always bump into interesting people, every visit.
*Delicious* coffee, friendly service, cozy ambiance. Selection includes typical espresso faire, plus pour over and nitro. They demonstrate a strong connection/focus with the local community, so when you buy coffee there you feel like youre supporting more than just a business.FYI... They focus on coffee but do not offer meal food, so plan your day accordingly. (Note: Im mentioning this as an FYI... not as a negative.)
Spent the day in Erie yesterday for an event that my son was participating in, and was lucky enough to stumble upon this gem. I have never had such a flavorful Americano! Freshest, highest quality beans and and perfectly brewed espresso without a hint of bitterness! My son ordered a vanilla bean frappe with added espresso, and absolutely loved it. Friendly and efficient baristas, and cozy and welcoming decor. We agree that it would be worth making the 1.5 hour drive back to Erie, just to get coffee from this place again ☕️!
Great place to have a tasteful cup of coffee. Wonderful atmosphere.
Delightful little coffee shop, simply decorated. Latte was good as was my pastry!
Great coffee... really great, but, man they are slow. If there are 3 people in line ahead of you and you dont have 10 minutes, walk a block to Starbucks.
What a lovely place! The service, both wifi and customer relations, were great! I would definitely recommend it. I had the House Blend and it was delicious. Definitely taste the rich coffee and the hint of love. Finally some good coffe in Erie! Thank you Hannah, the owner!
Great coffee, both the beans, and the coffee they make at the spot. Its great to have a high-quality coffee place in downtown Erie!
Great coffee
Nice atmosphere definitely but I found that some of their drinks arent really that great. Might just be my taste but I expected better.
