Delicious, handmade chocolates, and a wonderful shop with gifts for everyone. They have a large variety of chocolates, including various flavors, sizes, novelties, and gift sets. Im always happy to see good businesses in Erie, and Romolo Chocolates is top notch.
Amazing establishment I’ll admit, however, Absolutely everything is overpriced. Also, I have PTSD after working here. The majority of staff was decent but the owner, treated his staff TERRIBLY! Condescending and verbally abusive. This individual is highly undeserving of his staff and success. I hope he changes his ways. ):

Plenty of automobile and bicycle parking. Reasonable prices, considering the high quality of the foods.Along with the cafe, there is a comprehensive chocolate shop, with an excellent selection of related gifts/momentos.Stop by, grab a coffee drink, shake, or ice cream, and eat it on-site or enjoy it in beautiful Frontier Park (located across the street).
This place is amazing. Best chocolates Ive ever had. Its so smooth, so creamy. Its pricey, but is so well worth it. Customer service is very friendly too!
The fact Romolo wastes manpower on producing chocolate in shapes like 20-year-old Nokia cellphones & similar useless things baffles me. A bewildering variety of such shapes which have no sensible purpose is offered. Other than that I like the products.
There is no better place on earth than Romolo Chocolates. The chocolate is heavenly, the Cocoa Cafe is welcoming and full of yummy treats, and the courtyard provides perfect seating to enjoy it all. If I could, I d be there every day! Definitely worth every calorie...

Known for their melt-in-your-mouth handmade sponge candies, this family owned shop is a must if youre in the area. Stop in the cafe for some delicious homemade ice cream or coconut macaroon and take an Instagram-worthy pic outside near the mural by the piazza. Perfect spot to pick up a hostess gift as well.
We went for a family members Birthday Party and I have to say that I had no idea they were hiding this gem of a party room. I have been to the store and its a landmark in town, but there is a building in the back of the building on the side that is used for parties, and its amazing. Its like walking into Candyland or Willy Wonkas House. If you have kids that want an birthday party that their friends will be talking about, book it here! Also the chocolate is amazing and freshly made on site.

I found Romolo when I searched best ice cream spots in Erie. Im very glad I chose to stop. The ice cream was super good. The flavors were unique and tasty. I had the granola ice cream and the gingerbread ice cream. They were both great. The gingerbread was especially good. I will definitely be back!
It’s a nice place but the owner is very rude. they don’t customize your drink as well. I ordered a latte with 1.5 shots of espresso instead of 2, shorty after the owner came out to my table and said we don’t change our drink and ordered me not to ask it next time. He also ordered me to sit in one of high top tables while there were plenty of seats and tables available in the store. This is the first time I see the owner comes out and specifies where to sit in a coffee place. Very disappointing.. during our conversation he directed me to the exit door..it was very unprofessional.

Romolos has the best chocolates that I have ever had, best tea, best cookies and overall best chocolate shop I have ever been to. my boyfriend has always taken me there to get the best goodies (both seasonal and original), I even was able to purchase him a great selection of chocolates on his birthday while I was in the hospital after delivering our first child together. My sister was able to pick it up. best part is they adjusted so well to the COVID, even my sister loved their chocolate covered cherries I ordered for her. She use to work at a chocolate factory in Buffalo and she agreed Romolos is on our top list. Also my 4 month old son has a cute romolos teddy that he loves to smile at.
I absolutely wanted to camp out in this store. :D I had been to Stefanellis before, but heard this was the original. Naturally, I was there for the sponge candy! Yum! You wont regret buying it. I liked their Chocolate Cafe as well for a great espresso. ❤ Staff seemed friendly. Not much interaction, but they were efficient.

The employees are always professionally presented and service-oriented, two qualities that are not common these days. I have lived in Erie,PA my entire life and believe it or not, have never visited the cafe and gift shop location on West 8th Street. Let me just say, i was totally impressed with my experience !!! The location is beautiful and first class! it makes you feel like you are in a much larger market size. The professionalism is great too! The candy has always been dynamite, but the ice cream is delicious. The outdoor seating of the cafe is very relaxing. I will be definitely be returning soon. 5 stars!

We had my daughters first birthday party at Sugar at Romolo Chocolates, and there arent enough great things I can say. It was such a special day and the perfect place for a celebration. The event planner, Christy, went above and beyond through the whole process and was extremely attentive, quick and helpful. She arranged some small catering and we had cupcakes that guests could decorate and enjoy. She made the party effortless on my end and our guests raved about the cupcakes for weeks. People could not get over how awesome Sugar is, and we couldnt have picked a more perfect spot. We originally were supposed to have a different dessert and when something happened on Romolos end, one of the owners, Jennifer reached out to me on a weekend and made things right. I was very appreciative that she took the time to help. We cant wait to celebrate at Sugar again, hopefully someone throws me a party here ;) Thank you Christy and Romolo Chocolates for your great staff, amazing location and delicious treats....Bella had an amazing first birthday celebration!

This is one of my absolute favorite places to visit in Erie! Beautiful store with a coffee & ice cream shop, gift shop and a chocolate shop. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The ice cream is cold, creamy and very tasty. The cappuccino was strong and had a great coffee flavor. But the chocolates... Incredible! Im glad I dont live close, because Id never stop eating their sponge candy - sweet, crispy, light and literally melts in your mouth.I highly recommend Romolos - They truly are dedicated to their craft and their customers.

Generally always have a very positive experience here.However, in one of my more recent experiences, I made a complaint about one of the employees and although I appreciate the change in policy(I was asked what I ordered and one of the employees stopped what they were doing to make sure I wasnt lying about my order, so now they are going to write the order down), it did nothing to address the employee themselves or my experience in the store I frequently enjoy.Love this place by the way, and is a top recommendation of mine for places in Erie...
I have came here before, and had to come again! I love the cafe that has great coffee with an antique/ original Italian cappucino machine. They also have delicious ice cream with very original flavors that feature their candy/chocolate, and even the famous sponge candy they make! They have a mini giftshop, a beautiful outdoor patio as well. As for the chocolate, its hands down one of the best ive ever had. In the actual chocolate store, it has a wide variety of options, flavors, and price points. Definitely a little something for everyone. I really like the meltaways or the solid choclate pieces they have in unique molds!

Can I say a chocolate is divine? Otherworldly maybe? All I know is something is afoot by the lake shore in Erie. Try the Dark Chocolate Bark with blueberry. The Milk Chocolate Bark with Toffee. It will send you to a place of happiness and mirth.
This is a beautiful chocolate factory. The prices are extremely fair and there are so many different kinds of chocolates to buy in gift form or for yourself! There is also a gift shop inside that offers non-food gifts, and the factory offers shakes and ice cream as well. There is a gorgeous patio for outdoor dining so you can spend time with friends and family during fair weather.
The chocolate is rather good but the lady in the gift shop on Saturday December 5th is a total %^&#/. After dealing with her I put back my $300 order and left. I have values and standards regardless of how much I wanted to place the order, I left. Youre very welcome.

The best chocolate in Erie. Period. Made the mistake of buying chocolate from one of the other big names in town for Valentines Day a few years back. I thought that maybe she would like to try something else. WHAT WAS I THINKING? There is not one thing that they make that is not top notch. Chocolate, coffee, and their baked goods are all fantastic.

Had a disagreement with owners about IDing Grubhub drivers. They removed me from there driver selection because I refused to ID myself even though I am not required by law or grubhub to provide my ID. The older man told me I am banned from the store as he pushed me physically. I told him not to put his hands on me and I left.I would like to show good faith and say that they do have very good chocolate.
