Scott and Bob at Computer Guru have been my computer Gurus for over 15 years. Always pleasant, direct, straight forward, fair and very good. From their office you can see they are very busy because others know about these two computer secret Englewood gems.

Ill start this review by saying that they did fix my computer, but the lack of communication really bothered me. When I dropped it off, I was told a repair could range anywhere from $30 - $200 and they would call me when they figured out the problem. 2 weeks go by and I finally get a call that they fixed it and installed all this software for Free including a software that they can take over control of your computer remotely (useful to some but I dont want that)and said it will be $200. I called uBreakiFix in North Port and they said the same repair is $100.In summary, they will fix your computer but it was slow service and you will not receive any communication from them until its done and you get a bill.

Both Bob & Scott at Computer Guru are knowledgeable and helpful whenever I have had to call them for help. If they are busy, they give you a time to call back so you can get prompt service. I would recommend them to anyone having computer problems.

Bob and Scott are both “computer gurus” who recently accessed our desktop and laptop computers remotely to fix problems with Microsoft Office. They were quick as lightening and the cost was truly unbeatable! We’ve been more than satisfied with their expertise and services for the past four years. Have taken my very old computer here several times over the past seven years. Bob and Scott are knowledgeable and competent. They have fixed my computer and it always runs better after they have fixed it. The anti-virus, anti-spyware, and anti-malware programs that they recommend, and that I run faithfully have kept my computer clean with no intrusions. Pricing of their services are very reasonable for what they do. I highly recommend.

I have used Computer Guru on 3 occasions for 2 computers that I own. I have no problem recommending them as professional and personable. Bob is a good guy and in FL they are my go to guys if I have a problem.

Bought my computer here the owner was very nice man and extremely knowledgable and very reasonable. I cant remember when my computer ran this fast. He not only fixed my bug, it runs terrific now. Cant remember the last time it ran this well. Its nice too be able to trust someone with all you personal data and he made it very easy.

As a computer nerd myself, this review carries a bit more weight than most. Bob is one of the most honest and trustworthy nerds I know. Hes always on the clients side which makes it hard to compete! He doesnt lie and acts like the client is himself, which makes it easy on others to validate his claims. He knows that a solid state drive is the quickest way to your heart and hes not afraid to say so! Still the best in the area, 15-years-now.

Im horrible with names but Scott or Shawn helped me today and was awesome!!! COVID has killed my small business and this guy saved my laptop!!! More than a fair price for the service.And some of these one star reviews are wild. Ive had to buy a replacement plug for my Lenovo and also paired $40 for a replacement one. Long story short purchased an expensive computer a few years back and it began to run extremely slow best buy said its time to buy a new one, brought it to Computer Guru and he got it running better than brand new. highly recommend.

I took my Dell laptop here thinking it was a lost cause. Not only were they able to get it back in working order, it now works better than the day I took it out of the box.. Its at least 5x faster and when I picked it up it had all the virus/malware protection downloads already on it to keep it running better then it even had.. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I would give less stars if I could. This place and these guys are a complete rip off. I sent my son there to get a wall plug for our lenovo computer. He charged him $40.00 for a plug that he said he repaired, it was repaired with a piece of electrical tape over the exposed wires!!- what a complete rip off this place is!!. When I called spoke to the owner, Bob, about this, he said yes, thats correct; they go for $60. -$80. new. And then he proceeded to tell me it was so much because it is a lenovo plug. I spoke with a representative at lenovo prior to going to this place, who said the plug can be a universal plug, as long as it fits, it does not have to be a lenovo plug. Bob argued with me and said it had be lenovo. According to Lenovo, I could get a brand new plug for$30.; but it would take 3-5 business days, my computer was completely dead, so I needed a plug asap. Moral of the story.....DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS, UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF AND WASTE YOUR $$$.

I thought he fixed my computer but only work for 2 days then right back to not working. So I want to change my 5 star to 0 stars. Charging me $80.00 for not fixing anything.

Way too long to get your computer fixed when you need it for daily work.

The owner is obnoxious and deceiptful. He convinced me to upgrade my RAM and processor for a grand total exceeding $300. I took his advice despite the fact that the repair exceeded the value of my computer. Within days of my repair, the computer crashed. His belligerent attitude certainly did not encourage me to return. I purchased a new computer. Hopefully this helps others.

The team at Computer Guru of Englewood LLC did a terrific job in diagnosis my laptop issues, providing alternative options for either repair or recovery of data that I was unable to retrieve as the laptop had been fried during electrical storm. Thanks for both the great work and reasonable cost.

I brought my old broken gaming computer in to get it fixed. Mr. O’Tool educated me on how to get it in top running condition. I play an online MMOG and it demands a lot on a computer. When Bob finished fixing it. The computer runs at blistering speeds that I have never seen before. When I had to reinstall the game it took only 25 mins as opposed to over 9 hours with the old slug snail computer before. He is a “Guru” but an out of this world alien guru!

Guru Bob did incredible things to my old computer! Changed Vista to windows 7, increased the speed, downloaded multiple protections. He then can fix things remotely and there is a one year warranty on his work. I will go to no one else!

As another reviewer stated, dont let the appearance of the business fool you!! I took my sluggish laptop in for a checkup and 2 days later, I have a like-new laptop moving fast and Im now well versed in security measures for my system as well. Bob will answer any question, no matter what your level of expertise . I will be going back in a year for my check up and recommend him.

Purchased a rebuilt Dell a year ago. Have not had one problem. Runs fast, great antivirus program and they were very helpful and patient As for the appearance of the business all I can say is ......have you ever seen Einsteins office? Bob is the real deal.

The owner is a conceited loud mouth. I walked in with my computer, ready to use their service. The owner was shouting to a man about his computer. He was out right lying to this man trying to sell him a hard disk for 500.00. You can buy a one terabyte hard disk for around 100.00 and that was a while ago.The office was filthy. Papers all over desks and stuff on the floor. There was one pathway: from the door to the cash register. The rest was total chaos.The tech guy was kind enough to remove 2 screws off the back of my laptop while the boss was yelling at his customer. I asked him how much it would cost and he said, this is nothing. BTW, the tech is a nice guy.The tech said they would call me when they found a new battery pack for my old laptop. So I went home and I barely drove into my driveway and the owner calls me on the phone and says you owe me 30.00. I said for what? We performed work on your computer.Instead of comping this laughable charge and promoting good will, he made me feel like I would never get a square deal. One bad review is worth 10 customers. I hope these 10 customers will never go to this scam artist.

A little rough around the edges, but in 3 hours he fixed what Best Buy couldnt fix in 7 days. The man knows his stuff. Dont be fooled by the optics, just take your computer here!

Bob converted me from a Dell hater to a Dell user, he doesnt suffer fools and will give you the straight talk and the info you need. If you want swarmy go to a Large Computer Store and they will sell you the most expensive one around. Had an issue with the Dell (he guarantees his for a year minimum) his staff had mine fixed and upgraded while I waited. Havent bought a new computer over 7 years as have used Computer Guru for the computer I wanted not one someone else thought I needed. Highly recommend you drop in.

This guy and his team are the best. According to Bob I now have the fastest computer in Englewood, however, I dont live in Englewood so it must be pretty frickin fast...and hes funny.

I’ve dealt with this business on a number of occasions. They’re the furthest thing from one of those sleek computer stores, but from their cramped and crowded space they deliver the sort of service you’d hope to get from a small, local business. As a near computer illiterate, I didn’t understand all of what they told me, but I do know that they fixed the problem that brought me there originally, and when a glitch occurred, they fixed that without charge. I was impressed enough to purchase an upgrade to the innards of the machine, and it now opens sites almost as quickly as I can get to them. I still don’t know what I’m doing, but at least I know there’s a place that actually helps.

First off, the employee Chris is a doll. Really nice guy. Patient, communicative and attentive to my questions, concerns and wants.The owner on the other hand; Bob O’Toole is the reason to avoid this place like the plague. He’s callus, assumptious and spiteful.I went in and talked to Chris about building a computer, we talked for about 45 minutes. After we were done talking I asked if it was ok to mill around and check out their shop/store which looks like a hoarders garage mind you.While doing so, the unknown-to-me Mr. O’Toole enters his shop and briefly talks to Chris. Without knowing what Chris and I had just moments before talked about, he barks to me, ‘Can I help you?’. ‘No, I’m just looking around. Thank you’ I reply. I had been helped and was now just looking around. Within minutes he shouts to me, ‘If you’re not buying anything, just leave ok!’.I was shaken by his quick jump to “Heck with this potential customer, he’s wasting our space”. Replaced the 10 year old computer mouse on the dusty shelf which was on sale for $50, said ’thanks for your time’ and left.If I can help one person avoid having to interact with the owner, the time spent on this review is worth it. If Chris opens his own computer shop, I’ll the first in line. Chris, you rock good Sir!

Not friendly at all. I had a few questions about my laptop, and went in to talk to a technician, and they were rude. Unless you buy something, they act like they dont have time for you.

The shop is a little messy but dont let that fool you, these people know what theyre doing. They where able to fix my HP laptop in less than 3 days and now it runs great.

Thought they knew what they were doing . No they dont ripped off 2 times. Never again could of bought new computer.

Stop stop stop. Stay away from this guy, He is the dude who has moved twice already because they ran him out of town. First he was in the car wash in Englewood near Dearborn, Then near the Englewood library in Englewood now in a Tiffany Square. He knows nothing about computers and has ripped off me and my neighbors. Fixed the initial problem of not being able to load an OS to a HDD or SSD, The problem though is they said my brand new GTX 1060 was dead and insisted I buy a new one. That isnt a problem as its under warranty. I got home to discover they installed a very old copy of windows 10 x64 version 10.0 that doesnt support the Nvidia 10 cards. Bob acted as if he knew all and what I said didnt seem to matter. Thank you for fixing the big issue. As far as my card though? it is just fine. He did however do extra work as this is a frakenstein build. He tore it apart and redid a lot for me. I can not complain other than what I was told on the GPU. All and all I spent around $260, and ended up with my machine running after playing around for about 2 hours.
