They kind of sent me on my way with the job half done but, the quality of work that was completed was outstanding and the pricing very reasonable. I only wish they had completed the whole job I requested... Its not a one stop restoration facility and the website is a bit misleading. They do not do upholstery and in my case were not able to source the decals I wanted replaced. Would I go there again for fiberglass / gelcoat work, paint, electrical, or engine repair? In a heartbeat, and Im fussy. BTW, if youre in a hurry, this is probably not the place for you... but the quality of work does make the wait worth it! Thanks guys... it was certainly interesting!
Best service Ive ever had. Electric problem that was created by me and was repaired with a smiling face. Would recommend to all, he is a excellent business man. Very prompt service and highly satisfied! Thank you! Buzz
They were great to deal with. Rich was very informative and did an amazing job rebuilding my motor. You cant beat their 2 year written warranty
Waited two and half months to be told the parts should take another month and half plus the labor and more parts. Got charged to get my motor back in pieces in a rickety box and then told u don’t wanna lose any of those parts. Very unprofessional, will not go back.
If you dont think you can afford to fix your boat..you are wrong!Every marine repair doesnt repair, they just buy a new part and put it on..how would you like to go somewhere where the owner and all the mechanics see if they repair the part first?First they ask you how often and how you use the boat, then give you the pros and cons and or repair price, how long repaired part will last etc. They give you their honest opinion. My boat sat for 2 years because I didnt want to spend the $ I was quoted for fixing my outboard and shifter. Well how dumb I was because here it is 2 years later, I bring bought to them to get price and it was less than $500 compared to a price I got 2 years ago for $2500..So I didnt boat for 2 years thinking I had major repairs..how dumb of me.So get your boat fixed by these guys, anyone can bolt on new expensive parts.Great job on paint work too. My boat is in the water again and runs and looks like new..I give them 10 stars.FYI --I dont like to tow a boat, hard for me but it was easy because all main roads and giant boat lot to maneuver in.
Bought a rebuilt Yamaha 200 about 8 years ago from these guys. It has been perfect! Rich and his guys service the motor. They are extremely professional and do great work, not only on the engine but anything that needs work. Highly recommend!!
Fast ..Honest..Explains in Detail Your repairs. Plus price is more then fair. Also Bottom painting is excellent and was more than 1/2 off my other estimates.I have recommend them to friends and they are all happy too.
Great fast quality work. All done at a fair price. Had a lower unit replaced by them which came with a warranty. Turned out the was a bad seal which was causing a leak of gear oil. John advised me to bring the boat back in and fixed the issue within 1 day and free of charge on my part. I would highly recommend the professionals at Quality Outboards and boat work. They stand behind there word 100%
I purchased a trailer that John only reluctantly sold to me as part of a package along with a 250 hp rebuilt outboard. I backed out on the motor but John kept his part of the deal and sold me the trailer in spite of loosing the sale on the motor. From my experience I find John to be an honest man of his word with a very helpful staff.
I had my 23’ mako restored and repowered by John and his crew about 8 months ago and they did a phenomenal job! John was very honest up front and had the work done in a timely manner I have since then taken it there for my first service and again was pleasant. I would recommend quality outboards to anyone who needed professional work done on their boat at a fair price. I use my boat very often and have had no issues and enjoy what they’ve done
For you john. I had the worst experience with John Hughes that Ive ever had in business. He is the professional here and rebuilt my motor. He gave it back to me and on the first trip out it ran very bad. I brought it back and low and behold he rebuilt a bad block, and had the nerve to charge me for his mistake. Nearly every time I went into his shop it ended in an argument that almost lead to a physical altercation, Im the customer here and never signed up for the treatment I received from Quality outboards. You can also look on his Facebook ad and see exactly how he treats his customers. Its your money, do what you want but I strongly suggest taking your boat elsewhere
They had trouble sorting out a simple instrument cluster issue. Charged me 400 dollars but didn’t repair anything.
Quality Outboards and Boatworks is not the same company as Quality Outboards of Englewood. John Hughes purchased the company 18 months ago has made changes and stands behind the work of Quality Outboards and Boatworks. They strive at putting out good quality work at a fare price
WATCH OUT!!! Bad rep on warranty! I got burnt! Changed LLC and wont honor. Probably cost them 39 dollars at our expense. I will not return!!!!
Just had the right stuff we needed
They took care of my old outboard
