Love coming here to buy games. The staff is ultra friendly and knowledgeable and the selection of games is ginormous! My only regret is not having enough money, time, and space to buy, play, and store all the games I want from there.

Regrettably Ive had to change my review, from five stars to two. I visited the store over the weekend, but before that it had been years since my last visit. I had been a regular while Dane owned the store and still popped in a time or two under the next owners.But the store, now, is unrecognizable. Its cluttered and disorganized. Its a shadow of the store it once was - and I mean that literally, the lights were off, adding another barrier to actually finding what you were looking for.Speaking of, their dealings with TCGs seem almost nonexistent anymore. A person in front of me was looking for a simple Evolving Wilds, and it took the two staff members almost ten minutes to find it. Not sure if they ever did, Id left before they had anyway.I will give them this. The new owner seems to really know their board games. So theres that. But still I wonder if thats enough to carry on the name of Gaming Goat.

Okay, Ive gone to the majority of board gaming shops in a 50 mile radius around Chicago. I frequent many shops around town to peruse and shop, but this shop is by far the best. They have the biggest selection around, and pretty much have whatever random game I want in stock. Theyre officially my first stop for board games and have never let me down. As proof...I am will admit that I will drive 10+ miles to pick up games from this shop.

A very knowledgeable and friendly staff, this location is covered wall to wall with games and most are front-facing for easy viewing. As you browse through, you can tell there are sections hidden amongst the display as the games appear to be sorted by game type/style. This sorting method makes it easy to compare and find similar games to those you know and enjoy. I was able to get some hard-to-find games at a great price (better than Amazon/scalpers) and I had asked about some games that I didnt know much about. They explained at high level the point of the game, how they felt about it, and then asked me what I preferred in games to get a sense if I would enjoy it. I walked out with games I had been searching/waiting for without overpaying and some new games on my wishlist I would have otherwise never given a second look.

The Gaming Goat-Elmhurst is, by far, the best store for Board Games around. Their new location offers much more floor space (which was a problem in the old location), and a selection that outpaces any other nearby store. Additionally, they have good selection of Magic: The Gathering, Pokemon, and Yugioh, both sealed product and a limited collection of singles. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the prices are usually the best around. Ive probably spent 80% of my fun money there since the pandemic started. I shall be back many, many more times.

I love this place!In the before time, I was here at least three nights a week. Then after the pandemic started it was down to once a week. Now, its still in pandemic times and I live an hour away but still I visit one or more times a week. I could go to another TGG shop thats closer ( I can think of two) but the Kyerstin (the manager) and the rest of the crew make the trip worth every minute of driving.I still regularly see games Ive never heard of or imagined and as long as the store isnt full, learning to play a new one is just a request away.Now even, theyve moved three doors down to take over half of what used to be Boccis. The space is twice the size and they have done a great job of setting it up. It looks good. The selection of minis and mini painting accessories has grown wider and more various. Its exciting to see the space come together so well.

I absolutely love this place. Great selection, great prices, and the people who work there are some of the friendliest people you will meet and super knowledgeable about all the games too!

This place is amazing jemary and Kierstan and the rest of the staff is amazing very knowledgeable me and my cousin didn’t know how to play a deck board game and they showed us and we were playing the Harry Potter battles it was such an amazing experience and had a lot of fun and they are so friendly I love this place and they have a lot of game selections I went to two other ones and this one is the best one so far :)

There are a few goats in the area, but the ones Ive been to elsewhere are always out of stock of things or are laid out weird.Theyre in the process of moving locations at the moment, hopefully theyll gain space for a table or two once quarantine is over. I was extremely ill this weekend so Saturday my husband took our daughter out for a while. (Its much more restful without a 7 year old sticking a thermometer in your ear every 5 minutes) someone working at the Elmhurst goat took the time to teach and play a game, dungeon mayhem, with my daughter. When she came home she was so excited and full of confidence and wanted to teach me. Weve been struggling with confidence lately and she hasnt been willing to try new things because she thinks she cant do them, so this was huge. This store and its staff are amazing!

Kirsten was a fountain of knowledge and TREMENDOUS HELP!!! The shop is really simple full of games with pretty good deals on! With a couple of tables for meetings or whatever you need along with organized game session you could try to hop in on, this is a fantastic shop to get started or get cozy in. Kirsten is a superstar, truly.

The gaming goats are a good franchise

Kirsten and crew are always super helpful and create a great experience. Shes always willing to make sure they have what I like in stock.

The store is clean, vibrant, and welcoming. The manager is really friendly as well as helpful and knowledgeable. The space is packed with inventory selection and if they dont have what you seek in stock they are happy to order it. They do demonstrations of games and have scheduled game nights of various types almost every evening. Best of all, their prices are typically comparable or better than large retailers such as Amazon.

Staff is great. Board games are discounted between 20-30%.Regular game nights and a good variety.Store is small and crowded - they would benefit from having additional space for a game room.Owners remember regulars and provide great service to one time customers. They do well with kids.

Stopped in with a small list of games to look for, surprised that they had each and every one. For a small place, they have a good variety of games as well as expansions. The staff was very nice, helped me find everything and even gave some explanation to games that looked interesting.

I gotta say, i love the store, I heard about themfor three years, and had to come see it for myself, drove 50 minutes up there from where I lived to see what the buzz was about, two days ago. Staff and community is very friendly and civil, and Id like to give a shout-out to Alex and the Owners for being so helpful to me, Alex went out of his way to help me find what i was looking for.They have a very nice Pokemon and boardgame selection to pick from, with magic, and Yu-Gi-Oh sealed prodcut. The location is just amazing as well, a nice classic downtown vibe, next to a movie theater, and plenty of restaurants. If you want to game this is one of the places to be if you live near Elmhurst or just want to go on a gaming adventure. Will probably be back in a week or two when i got the gas! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Like many Gaming Goat stores, theres a great selection of games from many genres, at online beating prices. Unlike many stores, the owner is welcoming, patient, willing to provide recommendations, and treats every single customer equally. My wife and I get all of our games here!

Owner is very nice and gives a very fair 60% for the card that is 10% more than regular Pokémon stores and they have a very good deal for 4 packs!! $10 = 4 packs!! What a good deal! Only been there one time and the guy who I talked to made me feel right at home, even gave me a heads up that they will have some new stuff added to the singles later because I told him Im trying to complete the set, amazing atmosphere awesome staff definitely a place to shop for your trading card and board game needs.

My grandson loves this place. He visits every time he visits from Indiana. He loves to go to the Pokemon tournaments.

Knowledgeable employees, from what I can tell the people who work have played the games they sell. They also host Pokemon and magic the gathering local tournaments. Additionally they host weekly dungeons and dragons sessions.

The Gaming Goat in Elmhurst is a wonderful little store. They are packed to the gills with tons of games and gaming accessories. What they lack in play space they make up for in selection. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

Trust me, this place is awesome. Usually tlga have this reputation for being to pricey when compared to online stores like amazon or even chains like target.Gaming goat is a welcome exception. I bought 2 games-* alchemists for 41 when amazon was selling for 42 and cat n most was selling for 59.* Tiny epic galaxies for 17 when amazon was selling for 30.Would gladly visit again and again.
