Great place to shop for comics and graphic novels. Knowledgeable staff and great with a pull list or ordering what youre looking for. Love coming in and talking to the staff each week - not just for this weeks new issues.

Large selection of comics both new and old. Prices were fair and store was clean. Easy access to parking. Highly recommended!

I havent been in a comic store much even before the pandemic, but my son wanted some stuff and I tagged along. I bought a couple of things and the guy working upsold me when he asked if I picked up the latest to a title related to what I bought. We talked a little bit about comics and creators, artists and their latest or upcoming project. All and all a good experience and why you go to a store instead of downloading books.

I recommend this store all the time. The owners are exceptionally knowledgeable, fun, and helpful. Anyone looking to expand their collection, causally read, or start up on a new series is highly recommended to come here. I’ve been going for the last year or so and You could not find a better group of people. Gem comics has been one of our favorite spots in elmhurst and keeps us coming back.

Very nice shop with a wide selection of comics, and even a small section for dice and role-playing games. There are tables in the back that can be used to read comic or play board games. However the bathroom is very unclean and it is a bit disorganized. Overall a very good business!

Great shop with a wide selection. Spend your money here and help a little brick-and-mortar business to grow. Nice people who know their stuff. I get my Tank Girl comics here and I never leave without finding something else that I absolutely must have. They also have table gaming for those who are D&D and Pathfinder inclined.

Very cool local comic shop. Guys there are great and very helpful. They really know their stuff. Help the guy like me get back in the comics easily. they were able to suggest some new titles that might not have checked out before and they were really great. They even have a way that you can pick out comics that are coming out and reserve them for you. I will definitely be back soon

This place actually turned out to be a gem. When you first walk in the lady at the counter looks out of place but she knows her stuff(I only say this because Im used to seeing guys running them)The plus is that everything is well organized and visible with plenty of space to sit on the floor and look thru all their boxes if you really wanted to.Cant wait to get out there again!

Recently got a subscription here, its a great place to visit when Im in town, the staff are always helpful and you can easily strike up a conversation with them, they also remember who you are if you come in regularly which makes me feel welcome. Recommend a visit if youre looking for some comics

Had all the comic books I was looking for!

Been going to Gem Comics for better than 25 years. Friendly atmosphere but more than anything very knowledgeable about their products. Enjoy talking latest trends to industry. They go out of their way to get the comics I want.

Great store. I took my son there for free comic book day and the selection was great and the staff was awesome.

Shop reeked of smoke... slim selection for pop in customer. .. Im sure for regulars the place is awesome... owner was more than willing to order me issues though. ..

Old school comic book store. They carry back issues (unlike many newer comic stores). They also know their material. Nice people, always willing to help and provide suggestions.

Very friendly and happy to help you if youre looking for something specific. Even if youre not a comic person, stop in and browse around!

They have all the latest comics and a pretty big space. There are also probably about 40-50 long boxes of back stock (mostly modern books, but some books from the 1970s and beyond). Went through most of the stock and didnt find any real gems but found some decent books including a collection of about 70 original Star Wars comics in pretty decent condition. Owner was very nice and offered to help multiple times. Not much in the way of token books (really high priced copies behind the counter).Would recommend visiting the store and thumbing through the back stock, although keep in mind there is a slight smoke smell in the store.

Staff was following us the entire time while we were trying to shop and when checking out acting very rude towards me. Would not recommend ever even if it was the only comic book store open in the Chicago land area.

Ive been coming hear for years. Theres nothing the owner wont do for one of her regulars.

I called to ask about a product coming out and the lady who answered the phone seemed very flustered. When I asked how much they were selling the item for she said I dont know loudly and hung up.
