We had never been in this brand before. It had a nice selection of heat and eat foods which we like for vacation cooking. Produce looked nice as well. Bring your bags though as they charge for them.

A decent, clean super market with a number of amenities. Along with all the standard packaged products, there is also a deli, bakery, and pharmacy. Yes, it sells alcohol if you roll that way.Staying around here for work, the pre-made sandwiches and potato salad are a great treat after a long day.

Best grocery retailer in Ellsworth. Average prices with weekly deals, and fresh meats and produce always. The pharmacy in Hannaford is always proficient and staffed well also.

Very clean and organized! Love the fact that they have steamed lobster so we could take it home and eat it so we dont have to eat like animals in public lol.

Several years ago, I remember being very impressed with this grocery store. It was one of first Hannaford that I had been into that had been “modernized”. A larger produce section, redone deli and wider aisles. I went expecting to give a bad review, but it looks like their remodeling again. Soooo...I’m going to hold off and do a longer review after the remodel is done.

I cant say enough about Hannaford in Ellsworth. As an out-of-towner, I always look forward to seeing what the local supermarket chain has to offer.I was tasked with the duty of grocery shopping during our stay for the week. This supermarket chain is similar to and is most likely a sister-store to my local Stop & Shop in NY, as I noticed they carry the Natures Promise brand.Where this store excels is their customer service. I was always greeted with a friendly smile, even though I would come in close to closing. Something thats rare here in NY. I did not feel rushed at all during my shopping which occurred every night for the week. The staff was very helpful and gave me directions when I felt lost in the store. The cashier even made small talk during check-out.I was able to find everything that I needed without a problem. The store was always well-stocked during my visit.Big kudos to the Bakery Department because every loaf of bread that I purchased (about 5-6) were soft and delicious.I highly recommend this supermarket if youre in the area. I will surely be returning.

My go-to when shopping food or needing prescriptions. Good selection (wish they would expand organic produce), customer service good. I appreciate their efforts to keep us all safe during this trying time.

We have tried so many times to purchase fresh seafood from this Hannaford, but all too many times we end up with fish that is near to spoiled and many times spoiled. When it is spoiled we return it, but when it is just not fresh, we attempt to cover the taste as well as we can. We explicitly ask for only fish that has been delivered that day. They will argue that they dont know how long it has been on the dock and give us all kinds of excuses. If what they have been selling us was delivered that day, it is not handled properly. Otherwise they are just not telling us the truth or they are too lazy to bring out fresh fish. I guess we need to return to shopping at Shaws... how disappointing!

Hannaford used to carry Vegan I Cant believe its not Butter. The vegan one is no longer available. ???

We stopped here on an off-season weekend trip with all our kids. Everyone found something they liked for dinner, and there was even a little sitting area to eat. I loved the stir fry bar. Id never seen anything like that in a supermarket. What a great value. We also were able to pick up groceries and then head home. Great store. Clean store and friendly staff. Thank you!

This is a nice store with good people that work there but as of July 5, 2020 they are not even making an attempt to enforce mask requirments. I saw several people walk in with no masks past the greeter who said hello to them but did not even attempt to remind them masks are required. They have signs posted saying masks are required but they may as well take them down. If they had attempted but were just ignored I would have given them a good review for trying. If they improve I will update my review.

One of the best places to shop in Maine currently, with that being said in these times its been out of stock alot do too factory and time constraints, but still you wont find a better place too shop.

I love the organic produce! This is where I go for my fresh fruit and vegetables when I cant find what I want with a local farmer...mostly winter time.

This location would be better if they hired more staff and kept the registers open. The only thing worse than paying for highly priced groceries is standing in line for 20 mins to do so.

Although this is now a chain-owned supermarket, the company has done a good job maintaining local-style service. Real local markets are difficult to find. Sometimes, even if theres a good one, like the one in Ellsworth Falls, you still need a bigger store to get everything and thats where Hannaford comes in. We like all the locations and they are a bit consistent with products and similar layouts. Prices are very good and service is better.

Im from Florida so Im used to Publix & Win Dixy & Ill say Hannaford is actually really good & has great deals.

We found everything we needed. The staff of the pharmacy was quick with transferring my prescription. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Hannaford is my favorite supermarket, it has a lot of variety and organics, it is the only place where I buy fish and seafood. I love this supermarket.

This is the optimal Hannaford. I have visited several Hannafords, and this one is top of the line. Great selections of PDO cheeses, almonds, and all sorts of other items. I could not imagine a better Hannaford if I tried. Maybe if they werent sold out of pain au chocolat...

I was doing last minute turkey shopping before thanksgiving. The employee helped me find multiple things I needed. This store treats shoppers really good. And the food has quality. I keep coming back to spend my money here

We are very lucky to have two great groceries here in Ellsworth. While this is my favorite there are also things we will go to Shaws for. You wont go wrong with either one.If you are driving an RV or pulling a trailer you would do well to pull to the left and park in front of the shopping center. Parking is often crowded and larger vehicles (like mine) can find the parking difficult. Shaws might be a little better organized. Both have lights so getting back out onto Rt 1 is not a problem.

Large well-stocked Supermarket, nice wide aisles, huge selection, International and wholesale sections. We were from out of town it was very user-friendly. Polite staff

I feel.that they have done a nice job. However, I feel all the paper products, detergents, etc. need to be in one area. Im undecided about the eating area?? Maybe not for Ellsworth? Im very pleased with the meat department and the no nitrate food areaOverall its a wonderful Improvement!

If you have special dietary needs, the Ellsworth Hannaford is good. Dairy free, gluten free, meat free. They have very nice people working there too.Hannaford was amazing during the pandemic as well. If you are a local, I recommend Hannafords in the Summer especially. They seem to be better stocked than WalMart.

The traffic pattern in produce especially is awful. You cant get around. There isnt enough room at the registers to form a line...major traffic jam up front. You need more space near the registers. I miss the old store!! :(

Fine except some stock was low.

The store continues to be under construction which has basically wrecked chaos. But the store has placed extra employees around to help navigate, and seem to be going the extra yard to help their customers have a good shopping experience. Must say, Hannaford continues to be exemplary in supporting disabled customers, keeping their multiple carts and wheelchairs charged and in good order. Unlike their competion.

This newly remodeled store is amazing! I wish the hannaford where I live in machias would take note! They have everything you could possibly need and then some things you never knew you needed! From the fresh produce to the fresh seafood and the huge selection of hot foods, everything looks great and is of the highest quality.

Have been using Hannafords for years as well as pharmacy, was treated pretty rudely by a young man when asked which isle to find Mexican products as since store make over still learning where everything is, he said he had no idea and I would have to find someone who knew...thumbs up for the make over and the other 95 percent of the employees who go above and beyond and make this store a happy place to shop, but to the young man who didnt want to help and had no 😃, obviously you dont like your job, go find another or work nights stocking shelfs, just a suggestion!!!!!

Ordered 15 lbs of Boston butt last Saturday for a pulled pork slider party. The butcher (youngest butcher there, and absolutely adorable) trimmed and tied both roasts perfectly. Great party, thanks to this young man and hannaford/Ellsworth. Butcher dept rocks.
