Very good experience. Friendly staff. I was fully loaded my cart and forgot my wallet & GPay did not work at that time. One of the Staff( Raj) told me to take all groceries and provide the card details over the phone on my convenient time. I was thrilled, felt like shopping at my small town in India π
I wanted to five 5 stars, its clean and big, hygenic, staff is helpful, all items properly stacked and very well managed. Last year i bought some items which were expired when i chked at home, didnt return it coz no return policy. Quite understandable and i didnt complain. But i make a point to check expiry dates of everything, many expired items are still lying in racks. This is the pattern for almost a year. To hide expired date they put price tags on it. Please check expiry dates before buying. Its duty and onus of management to not sell any expired products. Or allow exchange if customers buy mistakingly. Has this been any American store, ppl would have sued the store.
I have been coming here for 2 years. The staff is very friendly and they care about the customer. The store has good vegetable and fresh produce items and the cost is affordable than other grocery stores. You can find all varieties of food, beverages, and veggies. Also, there are not only Indian foods but also south-east asian products.
All purpose flour (maida) was full of insects, which I realized when I opened the pack at home after the store hours. I immediately threw it and called them the next day to check other packets and discard them. The associate promised me a refund if I just bring the receipt. On my next visit, three people working there together denied giving refund, stating that I should brink back the product so that they can show to seller. I told them that I have pictures and videos, but they were not interested in them. The problem here is they promised something on call and denied doing that when went in person.Though a bit expensive, I used to shop here as it is close to my place. I would rather drive few extra miles to other reliable stores than to shop here. I usually encourage local businesses, but sorry!
Better than Patel brothers. Good place to buy south indian items
Friendly staff. Easy parking, not too crowded
This store is hidden in Ellicott City. Close to the Ellicott City Post Office off Ellicott Center Dr. They have a very large selection of spices in different brands like Chana Masala, Aloo Paneer, Butter Chicken, Garam Masala, etc, that come in conveniently small boxes. I found a large section on sweets treats with Milka chocolates and different cookies where I got a few things too. I did not get to see the entire store but what I saw I liked and will be back to explore what all they have. I used to buy a lot of the spices from Hmart but they must have changed suppliers because a lot of what I used to buy they donβt carry. So finding this store was gold!
Great selection of authentic Indian cuisine
Excellent customer service, and everything is reasonably priced.
Great.selection of Indian food. Full room of rice! Spices by the aisle. Great snacks and prepared soups. Staying safe with.masks, social distance rules
I have been going to this business for many years. They have a great selection of items and always have what I need. The one worker named Akshat Shah did an excellent job of helping me get somethings as I was trying some new things. He was very knowledgeable in the items and recommended me the best ones and also showed me multiple items that were similar. He was very friendly and took the time to explain to me what the best things would be to buy.
Always go there for spices and fresh fruits and veggies. Amazing international store.
The perfect place to get all your Indian foods (spices, snacks, frozen, vegetables, ...). The owner is an excellent source of info on what to buy, which brand is better, and will even recommend when to come back for the freshest veggies.
Itβs well stocked with varieties I wish the expiry dates were takes care twice I purchased expired stuff and also some items donβt have the manufacture and expiry dates which is must ... it can food poison!!
They have very helpful employees. The store is in a good setting and has good selection of vegetables and other variety of ethnic indian food items.
Beware of price and product expiry.
I purchased an item. The price on the item was different and the billing was different. When enquired, the front staff rudely told that the price on billing was correct and he is not bothered what is put on the item.
I love this Indian grocery store. Their staff is very helpful. All kind of Asian Indian stuff is available!
This is our usual go to place for Indian grocery. Family owned and run. Very friendly and personalized service. We have been coming here for quality grocery at a reasonable price for over 10 years now and never had a bad experience so far.
Staff is very nice and friendly. They adhere to current Covid guidelines. Large variety of Indian foods and goods available.
Please be careful with this store. They definitely charge you for the things you dont buy.If the business is not ethical lets not encourage them...There are options and I really think we the people should definitely stay away from this store in future.I dont remember the guy name, he wear specs and middle aged. I will never go to this store and i really dont want someone to cheat me...If they cheat on the food stuff and first thing i thought was my kids ( what if they sell expired food stuff) . I will never trust this store ever...Stay away people!!! We should encourage small business but not the cheaters or people who are trying to rob your money.
Great store with reasonably priced items. I had the good fortune of sharing a samosa with the owner over a friendly chat last year
They are very good at charging for things you donβt buy. Check your receipt before you leave the counter!
Ive been going to Ganesh Groceries for over 4 years now. Started when they were still at their old location off route 40. Ive seen significant improvements in their store over the years. From cleanliness to the tire of products they carry. They are now both enough where they carry everything I can think of getting from an Indian Grocery store!
Almost all types of indian grocery available.
Specifically i call for Atta before i get there due to pandemic i ask for 2 bags and price 12.99 each. the person on phone said mil jayega i told him ill be there in 10 minutes, When i get there i took 2 bags the guy said @ counter 1 bag only. I called here he said who said, your staff!! PLUS PLUS HE WAS KEEP TALKING AND TALKING INSTEAD OF CHARGE FOR 1 BAG and he was walking around one to another computer i told him let me out of here. And then came wrong price unfortunately i have to choose different atta and i left quickly.
The prices are very expensive. Many items are sold after the expiry date. I purchased pav bread and it had mold.
Small store but fully packed with a great variety of Indian groceries. I mostly visit the store to buy Jalebis and snacks which they serve fresh everyday.
We need to be careful. Please check the expiry date.
Good selection of groceries. Veggies could be fresher.
Best place for Indian groceries and Frozen food items. They serve best Samosas daily fresh made. Full range of Indian food, beverages and veggies.
My usual place for Indian grocery. Good selection customer service. They are helpful with finding things for you. Mr. Raju works there who is Nepali and it convenient for you (if you are Nepali) to ask for things that you may not necessarily know in Hindi/English. Also parking is great.
A decent Indian grocery store. You find all the Indian staff here. Though things are pricer than other stores. The fresh Samosa r really awesome. Good place for a quick shopping trip
The prices are very expensive. I purchased yogurt, it is 7.99, the same brand you can buy for 4.99. The price on the item is different and the billing is different.
Good collection of groceries. They have a number of brands. Prices are affordable. my go-to place.
Bright, clean and well stocked with Indian groceries. courteous service from owner and staff. Easy parking. Front doors are manually opened and difficult for handicapped and elderly to operate. Has become somewhat pricey.
Good
You get lots of stuff..a tat bit pricey for its competition near by. The good part is it is pretty close to I 70. You can get in and out faster than Lotte or Patel if you dont live in Ellicott City.
Two different occasions, the cashier charged higher prices for multiple items in the bill (they key-in the prices into the register). Both times it was the tall younger cashier. The second time I got annoyed and asked to talk to the manager, but the manager simply walked away as I was explaining! Unfortunately, honesty does not seem to be one of their strong suits. Please pay attention and double check the charges before you leave this store, or better yet, avoid this store. Should we not expect basic integrity and honesty from these stores?
They have the best spices and theres always something fascinating to dream of adding to your cooking repertoire.
The store has a decent stock of groceries and has mostly everything I expect from an Indian Grocer. The real difference is that the store employees and owners are extremely friendly and they are very helpful people. They will make sure you have the best experience possible.
Typical indian grocery store. You an Indian? Good for you. Other than that you might wanna try something else
Any Indian grocery item... this is the place to buy. A very humble and helpful owner Viren Bhai is always there with his team headed by Raju bhai.. to take care of what you need.
Great,keep all good food
THEY CHARGING STUFF Up DONT BUY IT AND IF YOU DONT LOOK YOUR RECIPT OVER THER Up HAVE TO PAY BIG ONION BAG PRICE WITHOUT READ YOUR PROPER RECIPT DONT LIVE STORE ITS HAPPEN TO ME AND BACK TO BACK MY FRIENDS ALLSO
Used to be good but no anymore. The South Indian variety had drastically reduced after the be Gujarati management. Very disappointed with the experience recently. I still will give 2 stars as they still have some items left of interest to me.
Good
You find all verity of india food and groceries. Affordable price
The price are very resonable & best quality
I am so pleased that they have moved to a new, larger, better stocked store. Unfortunately for my waistline, they had the homemade samosas available the day I was in. At 85 cents a piece, I had no resistance. They were delicious.
Friendly people, very helpful
Prices are tagged incorrectly to items displayed. And when the owner was notified then he was very rude and harsh. He should have taken the ownership and responded politely. Otherwise, good place for quick stop.
Good place for a quick stop for Indian groceries.
Very large Indian grocery store, all the products you could need, at reasonable prices.
They have a good selection; however, theyre not very friendly. I thought it might have been because Im white, but it sounds like they might treat many of their customers in an unfriendly manner.
Friendly owner and some staff members. Prices could be kept in check... Have to improve on their fresh groceries keeping standards
Nice store to buy Indian groceries and vegetables
Convenient and friendly store. You get fresh samosas and jalebis.
Wonderful place with so much of Indian groceries. Staff are very friendly. Price is very reasonable relatively.
Wilted veggies. Spooky looking staff. Tired and awkwardly dressed Indian Aunties. This place would remind you of the dirty and dingy shops of old Delhi. But you have to give it to them for creating a replica experience in corner of Maryland!
All Indian food items available here from Ice-cream to farsan
Our to-go place for all our Indian groceries. Good price and nice location
Store is OK. But not many items. It is expensive when compared to other stores.
Good store for Indian/South Asian stuff
Its a nice little indian store
Decent Stock and nice people. They will help you find things without getting impatient. Though improving instore signage will help.
Great selections of fresh, frozen, and dried foods. Sometimes when fresh jalebi and samosas are available, its REALLY awesome.
Great Indian food options. Loved the special Diwali sweets. There are food packs, masala packs and ready made food. So its great for people of any level of cooking skills. I really loved the dosa batter.
Nice selection. The people who work there are generally polite..with the exception of the owners son who is a bit off.
Great Indian store.
Good grocery collection and price
Amazing store, highly recommend!
Nice store to buy Indian groceries and vegetables
It is always clean the merchandise is always fresh and they have the best samosas
Good place for Indian groceries but all the items are a bit pricey
Amazing place with great indian food. Friendly cashiers as well.
Convenient location, neatly arranged shelves, good choice of Indian groceries
Its neat, clean and organized. Unlike Patel Brothers and other customer oriented stores, one has no idea what price they are charging you for each item that is scanned at the check out counter since they have not installed a monitor screen facing customer that enables one to check actual price being charged for each item!
Very helpful staff, and wide selection of items
Pricey but good location and good customer service.
This past sunday we had purchased two coconuts apart from a few other items. When we came home and broke open it, we found it to be spoiled. This has happened a couple of times with any US based stores and other Indian stores and every time, when we take the coconut back, without a blink of the eye, we either get a refund or they replace it. Expecting the same, I walk into the store, the guy at the counter does not have any directions on what to do and he calls his boss, the owner with two red lines on his forehead. The owner pretty much started the discussion with an anger tone stating he cant do anything with it and wont agree to a replacement or a refund. If he had started a reasonable conversation, it would have ended well. He said I dont have to buy coconut from his shop anymore and I replied, I dont have to buy anything from his shop anymore. This was the first time I have been to this shop to try it out. Given that there are couple of good options in Lotte and Patel nearby, I really dont see a need going back and I suggest other customers do the same to teach this guy the value of customers. Oh and eventually, I got my refund. So, yayy! Its just 3 dollars and it doesnt really make any difference in his or my life but what matters is a good customer service!
Great place for buying Indian food and frozen meals.
Most everything South-East Asians (Indian, Pakistani & Bangladeshi) family needs for their day to day needs.
The store is Ok but the attitude of the staff is not friendly.
Nice
This is slightly expensive. Think youll find cheaper things elsewhere
Good
You can pretty much get anything here.
No one attends to you. Vegetables are not fresh
I went and purchased 40$ worth of groceries there and I forgot to take buiscuits. I went in again and took biscuits of 8.4$ and was paying him by debit. The person replied to me they dont accept cash blow 10$. I had cash in my pocket, but I said I just purchased 40$ worth of groceries from you, its just unfair. He says If you want to purchase go to an ATM else its fine. I went to the other Indian Store and got my stuff.
Great for when you need something in a pinch.
Love the size and variety of Indian food here!
Availability of wide range of products and great service.
Good store for Indian grocery. Has almost everything that youd expect
Clean, honest and will do things above and beyond. Once you start, you will keep this vendor for life.
Worst shopping experience. The customer service is horrible; the employees are very rude. It is also a very unappealing shop and it is a very bad experience.
Quite small. Limited stock. Faster billing
Great store, produce section is a bit small, you can pay by phone
