Great store. Great selection! Reasonable prices! Great sale prices! Clean store! Friendly knowledgeable staff! Great deli and produce section! Consistant!
Just wondering when checkers stopped bagging your groceries?! It’s so embarrassing when the checker is checking your groceries as fast as they can, while you have to pay and bag your own groceries. Meanwhile customers behind you are getting frustrated waiting for you to bag your groceries, because they want to get out of the store like you do. I feel so frustrated… I guess I will just checkout my own groceries if I have to deal with that! So disappointed
Staff needs proper training on removing security tags, or the store managers should make sure they are working properly. Customer service was rude. Telling me there was nothing they could do about it unless I brought it in. I get that, the shirt is a loss to me, as we needed it today and I’m not going to drive 40 minutes out of my way for them to take a security tag off. Just TRAIN YOUR STAFF so this stops happening. I didn’t call and complain the first few times it happened, and surly didn’t expect to be be treated rudely when I did call.
***DISCRIMINATED***I was discriminated in a job interview there, I was asked if I had any children, how many and how old.I reluctantly told the interviewer I did and she had a negative response. That is none of their business and irrelevant to the job.I was then told we have other applicants to interview.A couple days later I get an rejection email stating I did not get the job. This business has a history of lawsuits and I am just disgusted with the behavior of the employees at this store. The produce here is always low quality and I frequently see fruit flies flying and landing on the produce. The typical answer I get from the employees when I ask about a certain product is I dont know as they shrug their shoulders and give a blank stare. But I am ok with going to other businesses that are more deserving of my money since the quality at nearby stores is superior. But being discriminated in a job interview is just unacceptable. When seeking any kind of resolve from management it really goes nowhere at this store.Very country folk mentality if you get what I mean.
The older woman with grey hair and red vest at customer service is rude! The nastiest attitude I have ever had from an employee.I have called before for questions about an item they had advertised and I was treated so rudely! The employees here are very unprofessional and have zero respect toward their customers! The employees look like mostly college students that dont care to help customers, they just stand around talking to each other.I had to stood in front of 3 employees talking and laughing for like a whole minute or two and they acted like I wasnt there.I had to interrupt their little party to get help with an item. The employees had a nasty attitude and told me the didnt know where it was and to look on the aisles.Very unprofessional.
Very rude employees.Customer Service desk is the worst. They have poor attitudes and I have heard them be VERY rude to people on the phone while I am waiting in line.Speaking of which, the lines at customer service are longer than they really should be.The store is pretty dirty from my experience and is not very well kept up.The employees here honestly very unprofessional and too laid back like they are just there for the paycheck and not the customers.I would give this place zero stars if I could.
Went there for lunch, they were out of forks and spoons, so I couldnt get a salad.Last week I went to Fred Meyer for shower supplies and they were out of that too.Shop elsewhere if you can.
Recently moved here for college. Im very shocked to see a huge number of unmasked customers and employees that dont seem to care. It makes total sense why the virus is worse here. Ill be taking my business elsewhere
Employees at this location dont wear masks and dont enforce mask wearing at all, and the store is often overcrowded. Their plants also have fungus gnats. The occasional cashier is super sweet but I dont want covid or fungus gnats.
This is one of the best selection and quality Fred Meyers this side of the pass!
Staff here are rude and unhelpful. The attitudes and lack of professionalism is very rampant. Its disturbing to see the lack of real world experience and professionalism for such a place as fred meyer.Im from pierce county and the fred meyer out there is very clean and well organized, the one out in ellensburg is very dirty and unorganized. The aisles are cramped and the employees are just downright rude and unprofessional.
Small Town store with little competition, probably low on the priority scale for Kroger in terms of keeping stock etc. Produce matches what you would find in town. Mostly competitively priced, especially their specials. Often out of items. Love the curbside pickup, but they have yet to fulfill an entire order without substitutions. Today I ordered seven items and they were out of three of them, substituted one. Seems reasonable that I should be able to cancel if they cannot fill 40% of my order, but that was not allowed.
Only place I will shop in Eburg. Love the club discounts. And better yet, during these hard times they keep everything sanitized! Including all size carts and baskets! Awesome. The workers here are also great!
For some reason there is a lot of stuff, but it isnt free. how rude
I get pretty inconsistent service from Fred Meyer, compared to the other local grocery stores. Sometimes great, sometimes bad.Pick up service is convenient, but half the time my requests are ignored (like, no bags and I end up with way, way too many thick plastic bags for just a few items).
It Was ok but expensive than other stores but they have hood quality .
This FM location is like many: its pretty filthy, the majority of employees ignore the customers (thats if you can tell who the employees are, because theres no uniforms and half dont wear nametags), and the shelves are always half empty.Grocery stores used to have employees who remembered the customers name, went out of their way to help people, and kept the store clean. Those days are gone, and this store is proof of that.
Always my favorite store in Ellensburg to get groceries. Cant beat the prices with the combination. Also their dip clothing brand is surprisingly way nicer than I would have expected and I highly recommend trying the brand out if you havent! Super comfy and nice quality
Wide variety of food. Busiest place in town by far. Friendly customer service.
I was shopping in your Ellensburg Washington location on 1/15/2021 at 11:25am when I noticed a customer not wearing a face covering, I asked the manager if they were enforcing the mask mandate, and he replied, I cant control what customers do once they are in the store. No apology, no effort to do anything. While shopping we came across at least six more shoppers not wearing masks/face coverings. One customer (who was wearing a mask) was having words with one of the maskless shoppers about putting one on. I saw the manager again, and mentioned to him that someone was arguing with this customer, and he looked down the isle and laughed. I, sarcastically, told him Im glad he thought that was funny. Heading towards checkout, we saw a group of employees by the self-check casually and nicely chatting with another maskless customer, so I asked them, about theyre not enforcing wearing a mask. They replied, we can only do what cooperate allows us to do. (Which is what? Nothing?) I get it that you dont want your employees to have to get into fights with customers over this, especially in the more red state areas where the patrons are more prone to not believing in COVID. But it was ridiculous how many people were not wearing masks or social distancing. I was very uncomfortable, and disappointed that the staff had such a flippant attitude about it. Ive never had an issue like this at any of your stores in Portland, where I live.
I would highly recommend Fred Meyer. One time were going to check out got out my wallet to pay and the lady said your order has been paid for somebody had giving her a hundred fifty bucks for our food! Never did figure out who! But we are thankful anyway!
I always shop at fred meyer and usually have a great experience... however this time was unusual. I purchased pumpkin chocolate chip cookies from their bakery...only to find what appeared to be wax inside. I took a bite of something hard and chewy. Upon further examination it looked like wax (like white candle wax). My friend ate one and also discovered the same thing. We had to throw the rest away. Disappointing.
I shopped and paid with cash on Sunday. I was told they couldn’t accept my cash that I need exact change. I said well I have no other way to pay. They told me that I could store the remainder as a credit on my rewards account or donate it to the fish food bank. I asked to take my items to a different register to get change. The cashier proceeded to take my money and give me change. I asked her why she lied to me about not being able to accept my money and that she didn’t have change for me. I was told her manager told her not to give change.
Had some trouble finding hiking boots but when I went to buy my other stuff. The lady asked me if I found everything. I told her I was kinda looking for hiking boots. she was nice enough to lock her till and show me where they were. no one else in line very limited choice but found what I needed and even on sale, plus a coupon.
Never go back. EVER.
Needed printer ink. Got make and model written on paper. Fred Meyers has catalog that you use to make the printer model with proper ink cartridge. Simple. Go to install and it is not the proper cartridge. Return within one hour and show and explain that there chart is wrong and would not let me return because I opened the package. People make mistakes Businesses make mistakes clearly Freds Catalogue is wrong they did not care.
Always has what Im looking for
A change from Walmart or target
Good stop for needing more than just groceries, best place in town for one stop shopping. Prices could be better but they usually neat the other stores in town on most things and they have fantastic coupons which help. I love their rewards program, why I keep going back!
Always have preferred Fred Meyers over other grocery stores because of the service, variety, and prices. Occasionally will find things past expiration date, but they take care of it right away. Wish they would have A better stock of Ezekiel bread. Runs out a couple days after they get a shipment. Employees have always been great, respectful and helpful, asking if they can help, even when not approached.
This is our go to store for sales. The apple fritters are also the best in town.Meat department can have decent deals from time to time, and the bakery often has free cookies! The natural food section is fair, and the fresh ground peanut butter is the best deal and our dogs favorite treat.
*update, 7/8/2019They got rid of their play area. So now I dont really have an incentive to go. Safeway is about the same and closer, so Ive pretty much stopped going here.Original review, 6/19Ok, so as a grocery store, Fred Meyer is pretty average. They have good sales, their regular prices are fine.BUT this Fred Meyer has a little play area where you can drop off your kids for up to 1 hour while you shop. For free. I cant express how wonderful it was to do my grocery shopping without two crying kids, and how nice it was for them to get to color/play instead of sit in the cart. My kids actually asked to go grocery shopping today. So, yeah, I will be doing all of my grocery shopping here from now on.I couldnt find the information anywhere online, so heres a picture of their hours.
Great grocery store with lots of selection! If you are familiar with Kroger, on the East Coast, this grocery store is one of those in disguise. Fresh produce, good selection of fresh baked bread, lots of meat, and just about anything else you may need. The food was also fairly reasonably priced.
Good service, willingness to help customers and I get great deals with their rewards program. This distinct branch is laid out a little oddly, makes it more difficult to find things, but snag an employee and they will do their best to help you find what you need and will track down another employee for you if it isn’t their department. Love that they enforce the no pets rule as courteously and respectfully as they are able.
Love this Freddys so much. Theyre always fair and equitable especially when it comes to returns and customer service. Prices compete fairly with the Safeway down the road.
The tech section has some of the rudest employees I’ve met anywhere. On two separate occasions an employee with horribly dyed blue hair demanded to know if I was Jewish. I’d rather spend more money at Safeway than spend another moment in one of the most hostile stores I’ve ever been in.P.S. This place is a COVID HOTSPOT, even before the vaccine there were so many people going around without masks. This just like many stores in this area are a complete joke.
I was told by a customer service counter representative that even with a receipt I couldnt return a sprinkler that didnt work properly without its original packaging because she needed the UPC code to return it. When you have a pile of identical sprinklers in your garden center with identical UPC codes, and a receipt that makes no sense. A receipt should be all it takes. And a receipt should have the UPC code or any necessary information to complete a return. Just ridiculous!
My mini dachshund has accompanied me on my many shopping trips to the Ellensburg Fred Meyer for the past 2 years. He is always in a carrier, and he is in a basket. He is potty trained. 3 weeks ago, while I was checking out, I was approached by management who asked me if there was a dog in the carrier. I said yes, and then he asked me if it was a service dog. I was honest and said, Nope. I was then told that I could no longer bring him in the store. Later, a store manager called me at home and explained that the laws in Washington have become more stringent, and only service animals are allowed -- even therapy pets are not allowed. While shopping yesterday, there was a dog in the store, on a leash, not in a carrier, who was jumping up and greeting people (friendly little thing), yapping, etc. This dog is definitely not a service dog. I never saw management approach the shopper to adviser that the dog cannot come into the store.Management should be able to tell the difference between a service dog (they are well behaved, do not bark, and do not jump) and a regular pet. The shopper was probably in their 80s. Im in my early 60s. If I have to follow the rules, then all shoppers should be following the same rules. My question to management is why was this shopper allowed to have the dog in the store??
Best place to grocery shop, electronics department, clothing & household goods in Ellensburg! Clean & friendly service. Great prices as opposed to Safeway. You can’t beat the prices. Hence, the parking... it’s not the best but it’s worth it! You WILL save way more money if you shop here. They have a wide selection on everything. Easy returns on & nice customer service with Western Union. Great Starbucks & friendly baristas. They have pretty much everything & you can’t beat their sales or prices in general. I don’t use their pharmacy but the one at Safeway is horrible! They have a great rewards system & every item purchased counts towards gas & dollars towards your next purchase. How can you beat that? Perfect for our college students.
Its Fred Meyer! What can I say? Its sorta the go-to place for most people. Ive never had any major issues with it. They have a great deli and bakery! Overall, great grocery store!
There is definitely a different thing going on here. This is the mall of Ellensburg as many like to call it. Theres nothing wrong with this Fred Meyer! It is very large and is a go to place for almost all needs including gardening and plans. Definitely nice.
Clean organized and usually well stocked. They were sold out of the long shower rods (probably university students moving in) I came for but had everything else I needed. Took off one star because his location didnt include a Murray Cheese counter.
Usually has what I need & want. some things are priced well and other thinks...not so much.ex:Freds wanted $12.00 for 2 canisters of propane. here in town at Farm & Home, you can buy the exact same thing. 2 for $8.50. JUST SAYING ;)~
Very clean and tidy store! My go to! Thanks for being open in these hard times!
Floral & houseplant dept.I walk-in ask about a plant. They can get it but orders received come in on Thursday’s only. Not a problem, understandable. I call to reserve said plant, leaving my contact info, to not be contacted after almost a month... What is the point of leaving my contact info? Just a heads up rein-checks don’t exist at this store so don’t try getting one. This was to be a bday gift to myself, unfortunately not. The staff are nice though.
They are so insistent on people using self checkout. Its great if I have a few items but when there is a line waiting to use it and there are no checkers, that tells me to take my business elsewhere. And I think I will. Ellensburg Fred Meyer is a joke and a waste of my time.
I love this Fred Meyer. It is nice, neat, and clean. It is a perfect stopping point between spokane and Seattle for me. Good gas prices too. Gas station is just south down the road from store.
Ive been away from the Burg for a year, and just moved back. Its great to be shopping in my fave Freddies again! Best customer service and selection ever, and the store is always clean and well-stocked.
The store is clean and organized. Staff is friendly. Great selection on fresh produce at a reasonable price. The pharmacy has great staff.
Quality of produce is always decent, staff is nice, especially the deli folks. Checkout lines can be a bear at times but they usually have enough check stands open to get you out in a reasonable amount of time.
1 star for good employees. Peyton is awesome. Fred Meyer is Usually out of pellets, they dont stock enough of the formula I need and the clothes are over priced and not current $42 for carters baby girl pjs ($22 on sale). I dont think so. Found the same ones on Carters website for 13$ regular price . Asked an associate to help me find more formula, she said its not her dept and told me to find someone else. He was helpful in telling me they had no more. I asked for district managers number from a manager, he sent me to another manager in customer service. Left after left after waiting ten minutes. Your %300 mark up is why people shop online or leave the city.
Employees are considerate...usually stocked with everything i need and everything I want! If I ask for help they are happy to oblige...love the coupons every month with a small card with money on it for use during future trips....clean store and superior, quality all the way around.
In general our shopping experience at Fred Myer is been good, however our experience with the customer service desk employee was not at professional level at all, the way the customer service behaved was very rude, unprofessional with bad attitude, to a point the store manager stepped in and apologized for his rude customer service employee, thats our experience with Ellensburg Fred Mayer custome service employees
This rating isnt for the entire store. Its for Freddies Customer Service Department. I work at Westside Pizza across the street, and for a couple years know, when we need emergency items or change, weve used Fred Meyers. Recently the customer service employees have been outright rude whenever weve asked for change. The other day, my coworker went to get some $1s and the woman at the counter flat out told her no. That is unacceptable, and we will no longer be going to fred Meyers for products.
The music theyve been playing is super super depressing.
Old style dairy queen. This throwback was great. Good food and of course the kids love the ice cream.
One of the nicest and cleanest Fred Meyer stores Ive ever visited. Amazing selection and all well organized. The gas station however is just a bit further down the street.
Audrey is rude.
Typical chain grocery store. Difficult to compare prices because cost per unit is not standardized (e.g., some items listed as cost per ounce, others by the pound, etc.). No real bargains to be had. Fortunately, staff is, overall, friendly and helpful.
Im a once-a-week Sunday shopper. That being said, DONT shop at this Fred Meyer on a Sunday, which happens to be the day after the ads come out. No matter what time of day, there will be bare shelves and they will be under- or out-of-stock. They are consistent on that. Recently I took the last two Lipton unsweetened tea packages from the shelf. They were on sale at a good price. I was at the store at 9:30am on Sunday; the sale ad came out Saturday. I told a clerk they might want to put out more stock; he said the truck wouldnt be in until that evening and that was all they had. Really?? That department manager doesnt know how to manage. Watch the prices, especially on Sunday. The managers dont always change the price after the ad comes out. Its not unusual for the specialty food departments to not know what is on sale that week. I always carry an ad with me. Produce is hit-and-miss. They should be embarrassed to put out some of that stuff. On the positive side, their rewards program is good. I very seldom have to wait behind more than one person.
I have to say, the best two things about this Fred Meyer are 1, the Pharmacy and 2, the Starbucks. Aside from those places.... The best customer service comes from the people who help you out to your car, followed close by the managers who are out on the floor, just looking for people who need help. The clothing racks are way too close together. Not scooter, walker, crutches, or cart friendly. The food isles are better if there are not any displays out in the isle. Even though they are the second highest in prices, they seem to be the busiest place around. Thankfully, they have enough people on shift that they have the second lowest wait in line time in town. Its a huge store, so its likely that you will be able to find what you are looking for. I do however, suggest looking somewhere else for fresh fruit and vegetables. The pre packaged food are usually ok, just check the dates.
People were not helpful
Best selection in town and GREAT customer serviceUpdate 10-15-21: This place has gone WAY down hill the last year or so. It obvious this store is poorly run by people who dont care. The few remaining long time employees are friendly, but rest seem to be a revolving cast of people who either dont care or are being treated very poorly by management.
Well usually theres somebody right there around the corner that you can ask a question to. But tonight, I guess because it was later about 10:30 there was not one person on the floor that you can go and ask or something was. So I ended up leaving the store without three things that I had no idea where they were. So I went over to Safeway, Im sorry to say that but I did, and I asked an employee where those items were and he showed me right to them. So I ended up coming home with him but wasnt totally satisfied with my visit. Dont get me wrong I usually am though. Thank you for your services!🤪😁😜
Ordering deli platters for a group of 35 people. Deli manager came out and was very helpful in deciding how much and what to get. Food was done correctly and on time.
The store is clean and they stock high quality products on the shelf. Ive always appreciated the level of customer service.
Overall, decent place to shop for groceries, furniture and household items. The only complaint I have is for the deli department. This department tends to have attitude when serving customers and close before posted times. Also, items tend to be overpriced but at least their grocery items arent expired like Safeway.
I get the general idea that electronics department has very little knowledge about what their products. There are however one or two employees that I am happy to see when I go. Favorite part of the store is self-checkout.
The only place I shop for groceries. Great customer service, fuel points, and had everything I need. Im also loving the new ClickList service!
I was overcharged on several items. Ryan says they do not have the technology to look up transactions with rewards or by receipt over the phone.
Pretty much what youd expect for a big box grocer. Decent organic selection and deli now that Whole Foods has moved in across the street.
Western edition of Kroger. Only real big box retail in town. Great stop for students and parents at Central Washington University.
Always good service here as opposed to some of the other large chain groceries in town. Always organized, clean, and a quick checkout.
Friendly...with most everything you need
They do NOT answer the phone.
Some of the fruit section had a fruit fly problem. But the quality of the produce was still good, especially the avocados.
Really good deals. All the time.Except when I go to the deli there is No one there and I wait a few minutes and still No one comes.
The staff was great and they have a wide variety of selection. I got all I need and will absolutely return again.
Excellent and well better managed than other branches near by
Keep an eye on your receipts. They frequently charge more if you are buying discounted items.
Beautiful one stop shopping. Clean. Friendly. Quick and well stocked.
Great store. Its like a Walmart! Very friendly staff . Theyre so helpful!
Cake department is SLOW!!! Cake was supposed to be ready for pickup at noon and its almost 2Pm and they are just starting it. Ordered it a week ago!!! Came back 3 diffrent times that they said it would be ready!!! I never write reviews but this experience changed that!!! Not impressed!!!!
In all reality its a pretty decent store but most of the time when I need help finding something the employees seem to have no clue about much of anything
They inflate prices to make sales look better then they are. Very sketchy business practices.
Great store, but very busy most times of the day.
Busy but in ad out no problem. Service was good
Lots of nice fresh baked breads and good prices
Lots of things not top notch, continental breakfast was a joke compared to other places Ive stayed. I wouldnt stay there again. Its awful that all hotels jack up the prices for local area graduations! SHAME! Only real positive thing was staff were friendly.
Every time I have been through the Ellensburg Freddy its a great experience
Reasonable prices, decent bulk section, and good sales. Their non-grocery items tend to be expensive.
Always good, even if you have to go hunting for the gas station down the street.
Good luck askim for help, rarely had a nice register person. Local stores only way to go
Customer service is top notch. Employees are helpful and never seen impatient or put out
Fred Meyer is a great place to shop, but need s to stock more.
Today, all the cashiers were working their first shifts. Very inefficient, and little backup. Not their fault, but poor management decision. Super slow check-out.
Clean and good grocery/ household selections. However the parking lot is seriously messed up. This needs to be addressed at some point.
Amazing place.
