A good example of the saying, Dont judge a book by its cover. Its a bit dingey on the outside, but its clean and comfortable inside.Lots of dishes to choose from and some great combo plates. I had the Sweet n Sour pork, Egg Foo Young, Fried Prawns and BBQ pork fried rice, with Hot n Sour Soup. A lot of food for a good price! The rice is sort of salty, so order steamed if youre sensitive to that. My Husband ordered a combo plate with pork chow mein on it, just be aware that the noodles in this dish are crunchy. He said it tasted great, but it wasnt what he expected. The servers are very nice and attentive.Weve tried all the rest of the Chinese food in Ellensburg since moving here a few years ago and decided that this has the best of everything and is now our official Chinese place!
I like finding small “hole-in-the-wall” eateries that serve surprisingly good food - and I think this place fulfills those criteria. We ordered takeout from the Traditional Menu (online): Beef Hotpot, Pepper Spicy Shrimp, Fresh Bok Choi with Garlic Sauce, and steamed white rice. The lady on the phone was very helpful, friendly, and she patiently helped me pick items from the menu that did not contain MSG.Each dish was a unique and enjoyable flavor experience .. and hopefully when inhouse dining re-opens someday, we can walk-in for a sit down meal.We were pleasantly surprised to find hand-written whiteboards listing items (including Asian beverages such as Bubble Tea) that are not on the takeout or online menus. There’s street parking and a small public parking lot (with e-car fueling) next door to the restaurant.
We have eaten here in the past, sometimes good, sometimes mediocre, but never terrible until now.$61.00 went in the garbage. When I called the next day to let them know, I received the excuse they had been busy. I was put on hold to talk to the chef. At 15 minutes, I hung up. Dont Waste Your Money, Go Elsewhere.
The food was delicious and the servings were huge! We got so much for our money.
Their Orange Chicken isnt Orange Chicken. Its little strips of chicken deep fried into oblivion and drowned it cheap hyper processed sweet and sour sauce surrounded by a few dry trees of broccoli. The fried rice is the darkest Ive ever seen with barely a vegetable in sight and has a nasty residual burnt taste as if theyre cookware is not cleaned properly or often enough. The waitress was kind and helpful, I hope she jumps off this sinking ship.
A little hole-in-the-wall Asian food joint, generous portions at a fair price. I live 150 miles away and Im considering driving here once a month. Highly recommended!
Love the Chinese food here. I love their sweet and sour chicken especially because they put the sauce on the side. I also like their peanut sauce chicken.
Food was excellent! It was worth the drive from Yakima to have dinner here!
Never fails to supply bomb food with great service
Fries rice was very wet and clumpy. Most of the food we ordered was hardly seasoned and had a plain taste. Eggrolls were undercooked inside and out. Would not recommend at all. Spend your money else where.
Great food, nice portions.
My food looked disgusting, the rice was hard, chicken barely had sauce... that box is suppose to be chow mien, last time I checked chow mien is not wet and soggy and has noodles in it. I’m disgusted by this place. never going here again. When I called to complain the lady told me the boss would call me and never did, went in and got my money back. SMH
Their food was realy good I would come back
No flavor. Overcooked. Hot mess.
Went here to get take out with my girlfriend and experienced food poisoning. Everything was fine except for the chicken.
Had #1 meal $11.25SoupCashew chow- mein&noodlesSweet & sour chickenPork fried riceGood deal the price
The menu is not at all accurate. The staff was very rude and the food is over priced.
Panda Garden is my favorite Chinese place in Ellensburg, and Ive tried them all. I even had my staff Christmas party here! My husband and I always have the #9 dinner, and we usually have enough leftovers to take for lunch then next day! They also have some good beers and hot sake. Very reasonably priced too!
Not bad for a whole in the wall type joint waitress was very nice
I love their general tso chicken with white rice and their spring rolls are the best in town in my opinion!
Ive loved this place in the past but last nite my husband & I had food that was mediocre at best. Chow me in was completely tasteless. Even soy sauce didnt help. Perhaps they have a different cook than the last time I was there. Next time we drive from Yakima to Ellensburg for Chinese food well try their competitor. Greatly disappointed.
Nice little spot its intimate and great service!!
Loved the garlic chicken, the chicken pad Thai...a little to sweet, but fresh and hot! Overall, two great meals!
I appreciate they put fresh limes in my drink.
Edit: I did it again. Delivery was quick & the girl who delivered was polite. My daughter wanted bubble tea because she’s not feeling well so I thought, we’ll get it. I ordered 2 chai & ended up with two totally different drinks. We asked for no ice & so they made the “large” drinks less full. I had to laugh because if you combined our two cups it might be a cup & maybe a half. So they shorted both drinks because we asked for no ice plus we didn’t get the chai. The boba were ROCK HARD & nasty... ok. Lesson learned. No, no, nope! I’ve ordered delivery & they delivered a tad late which was fine. My children were hungry & when I ordered three meals we only received two! When I phoned the restaurant to let them know an entire meal was missing- the woman that answered the phone first of all- laughed! Secondly and worst she refused to send the missing meal let alone acknowledge it. Or comp me. Unbelievable! There food is just ok. Seems like it was previously frozen at times or refrigerated. Not fresh tasting. Service is rotten. I wouldn’t give them a star at all but was forced to.
A local standard with some ... not well liked by other locals. The place is a little run down, but food has been consistent, flavorful, and pretty standard over multiple visits.
Amazing food, highly recommended
I felt utterly ashamed to bring my Gfs Chinese family here. Food was very bland and had no flavor.Im all for small business, but they definitely need to change their recipes.
Answer your phones.
Rewind 2 years. The reviews were right. It was bad. We even called back once because we thought we had the wrong entrees but no the food was just not identifiable as what it was. Thats all over though. We got PG as a last resort when Safeway looked pitiful Monday night and HOLY COW. They fixed it. SnS pork was obiously hand dipped. Light, crispy, perfect. Fried rice and lomein were FANTASTIC. Szechuan Tofu was the star dish and even the kids loved it. Great fat egg roll and light tender crispy spring rolls.Thank you PG were so glad to have you back in the lineup.Whoever was at the helm in back that night deserves a pat on the back. Same for whoever noticed the slide and righted the course!
The food was hot. No flavor. Tasted like it had been steamed for hours. Soggy chicken.
Best Chinese food I’ve ever had!!! Very good customer service and always so nice! Best in town for sure. I will always chose panda garden!
Great service. Excellent food. Good prices.
All of the food tastes home made and super fresh. I didnt try this place for so long bc I read bad reviews but honestly this is the best Chinese in town. The woman was very polite and I really enjoyed everything. Best egg rolls in town for sure.
Love the food and the specials are always a ton of food for an affordable price
Always good food
Panda Garden is absolutely lovely! The food is great and filling for a low cost, the people are always super nice and willing to do substitutions on orders. I love this place so much!!!! 10/10 quality honestly. Currently my favourite place to eat in Ellensburg. Every single time I have called they have answered their phone, I have never been left waiting for them to answer on a day when theyre in business.
I’m so disappointed with Panda Garden’s food. I ordered an egg roll and it was pretty good. I also ordered garlic shrimp with no bell peppers. The biggest problem with it was that the sauce had no flavor. It wasn’t garlicky or flavorful. It was like eating glue. It was hard to eat it, because of the sauce. I was repulsed by it.The vegetables and shrimp were properly cooked, but the ratios were off. Because there were no bell peppers, the cook just added a ton of bamboo shoots. There were only a few carrots and broccoli in relation. It looked like there were noodles on my plate, because of the huge amount of bamboo shoots. There were only four shrimp, but they were a good size. Finally, the steamed rice was dry and hard on the outside. It didn’t seem fresh, like it was sitting around all day and then reheated.I hope the owners will take this review to heart and improve their cooking. We don’t have any other Chinese food in town aside from Panda Express, which just opened this month. I don’t want Panda Express to put Panda Garden out of business. I’d prefer to patronize a locally-owned business, but not if it is a waste of money for poor quality cooking.
It looks like they are missing a chef.. food wasnt good this weekend
DONT EAT IT!!!Disgusting! White rice with soy sauce called fried rice red food die smothered over stale breaded pork!!!!The worst meal you could buy!! I travel for work and have never experienced this level of garbage before!!!
We have eaten Chinese food across the US, from hundreds of resturants in the last 35 years. This place secured itself in the top 3 worst Chinese restaurants ever.Had we actually read some of the reviews beforehand, we may not have purchased so much, or picked a different resturant to feed ourselves and friends.First off, the food has poor flavor. In an attempt to remedy that, they liberally apply MSG (a flavor enhancement) to everything. The biggest issue with that is that in large amounts, it can cause many to have very serious stomach upset. I have eaten enough MSG, that I can taste it in about any dish, with absolute certainty. The meat and cabbage in egg rolls had gone bad. Imagine the smell of a piece of chicken left out for about 3 or 4 days. Thats what we smelled when we opened egg rolls. It was incredibly overwhelming. We are all in emergency medicine, so not typically grossed out by much. When I called to see about replacing or refunding for the egg rolls, No manager here, No understand problem, and Sorry, cant help were the only replies I received. After later reading the reviews of many people that seemed to get food poisoning, it all made sense.
Good value for the money. Exceptional customer service. Supports local business, and generally really good food. Would recommend.
I can only speak to the vegetable chow fun. We order it about once a week and it is consistently great.
Super good Chinese food and amazing delivery service! The receptionist was really understanding and I thoroughly enjoyed my food. I’m down for the Honey Walnut Prawns any day!
This place is misleadingThey don’t have the big bowls of phoOr noodle soupThey are regular soup bowl of soupLike when you get soup at a dinerFor the price of a big bowlRip offAlso the menu on here isn’t updatedThe real prices are higherThere’s a conspiracy with some of the restaurants in this town overcharging for foodEspecially the taco trucks.Selling stuff for the price of a sit down restaurantIf you can wait to get to YakimaEat there
It was not as good as the last time was there.
They served the fuji wrong and I have 1 day left to live. This is some quality service.
I was extremely disappointed with recent service. I called in hoping to receive a delivery order. I was place on hold for 10 minutes and then hung up on. when I called back the gal taking my order proceeded to repeat back my card number so that the whole restaurant could hear it.not 10 minutes later she called again for my card number a second time, again repeating it out loud. this time I asked her not to. She then proceeded to tell me my food would arrive in 30 minutes.an hour passes with no delivery, so I call them, they needed my card security code again and said my food would arrive in 45 minutes!!!!! keep in mind I am at work, I just want some dinner.I will never be taking my business there again. I waited over two hours for a less than appetizing meal. Im pissed!!
This is some classic American Chinese food. Ive been coming here for over 15 years, and its not changed much. The general tsos is the best!
The food is delicious!
Real good! Have been a local fan for a long time! Go for the authentic dishes (and add some la jiao) for a more ethnic experience!
I like their food and I wish they add more best
Not impressed, Im a big conosuer of asian food and this place is definitely not one I would reccomend. I usually dont leave bad reviews, although this one is worth giving a heads up on. Sorry Panda Garden, you need to up your food game!! (Dry BBQ pork, small shrimp inside large fried prawn breading, bad tasting sweet & sour chicken, chow mein was like digging in to a musty swamp of veggies)
I am always skeptical of reviews so I decided to try this place myself. Like other reviewers have noted, the food is quite bland. I also will note that my meal, a Lo Mein, was about 90% noodles with a few pieces of chicken and only a small amount of veggies. On the plus side, delivery/service was quite fast.Overall, the 3-star score is pretty accurate as the food is bland/mediocre but not unpleasant, prices were around what I would expect if a bit high, and service was reasonably quick. There are better options in Ellensburg for this kind of food.
Friendly staff and good food.
Food was good. Favorite is the almod chicken. But the bubble tea was like drinking syrup with a splash of milk. I had the passion fruit and was sorely disappointed. Awesome food though.
We ordered food for delivery. It arrived quickly, the portions were huge and most importantly, delicious. My husband and I were really impressed.
Food is typical American version of Asian. I had the special of the day which was soup, almond chicken, sweet n sour chicken, and pork fried rice, and chicken chow mein. The sweet and sour portion was gross. The almond chicken tasted good. The rice and cow mein were just so-so. Price was decent. Service was good and the time from placing the order to receiving the food was pretty short.
If your staying in a hotel for 16 days. You eat allot of takeout/deliver. These guys have great food and its a good deal. Im ordering more tonight.
So disappointed, no flavor at all but there was sauce over everything and it made it soggy ans gross. Small portions. Bland and dry meat. Sauce Reminded me of gravy used to give dogs a healthier coat. Almond chicken without the almond. Ruined my appetite, wish i could refund. Oh how i miss the westside asain food. How do these people go to work everyday knowing they’re making terrible food. Taste Reminds me of a 90’s, old basketball gym.
Absolutely the best Chinese food. Sooooo yummy and cheap. :)
Great food, exceptional service, reasonably priced. Dont let the decor deter you from trying this diamond in the rough restraunt.
Standard American Chinese food. Informal dining room and delivery option.
Ive tried this place out twice, only because I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt that the first bad experience wasnt the norm. Unfortunately it was. Their food is absolutely disgusting, the rice is incredibly dry, and although you do get a TON of food for the amount you pay, it absolutely is not worth it. 10/10 would not recommend. Go to teriyaki wok or pho central if you want Asian food.
Always a great quick meal for our trips to town.
Dry bbq pork, tasteless sweet and sour. Oil seem old maybe.... Would suggest going somewhere else.
Not friendly, food was so so
Should have ordered pizza....not much flavor. Fried rice is dry and taste like play-doh. It’ll make a turd though. Fortune cookie was the best part of the meal.
Wonderful staff and food. Tastes like you are in China.
Small but the best asian food in Ellensburg.
Food great portions too !! Prices excellent ...nice family place and friendly staff
Excellent service, food is great and comes fast!
Just had delivery from these guys, Fast Delivery, Warm when it got here.Got the Almond Friend Chicken Entree, Enough for 2 people to eat...Only complaint is the fortune cookie arrived broken... But I am not crying over a cookie, Lol
Bland, gross, bleh. Hurt my stomach and my wallet. Maybe they should learn how to cook it like a real Chinese restaurant? It’s like someone’s uncle decided he knew how to make the better then an entire country. Tell your uncle to quit. And hire some real chefs, who know how to make the food like the real thing.
Food is great and quick delivery always
Poor service, employees on phone behind counter. Very slow but still not accommodating to special request.
The food here is amazing and the prices are reasonable. They deliver to CWU too! I definitely recommend this place.
Amazing Chinese food and have great Bubble Teas o all different flavors.
I have to say ever since the remodel of this restaurant the service and food was horrible. My partner and I had dinner yesterday with my brotber on 5/11/2019 and it was the worst experience I ever had there. the food was cold when it arrived and had the combination #8 It was nasty and the eggroll had no flavor really and wouldnt recommend this restaurant anymore to anyone. I even felt pushed and rushed the whole time we were there and the manager didnt seem to care not too mention they couldnt make a bubble tea the way a bubble tea is supposed to be made and ended throwing up afterward and bringing the bubble tea back it was that nasty tasted like powdered peptobismo when its supposed to be a raspberry and peach bubble tea.
I was there on July 4th with my girlfriend on a trip to the wind farm. The food was Chinese and was ok. Considering it is in a small town, the quality already exceeded my expectation.
Food is delicious, staff is gracious and quick!!
This place doesnt even deserve one star. I ordered a noodle dish for take out and opened the container to find a heap of cooked ramen noodles with a few chunks of cheap meat. No sauce, like I was told there would be, not even salt. No flavor at all. Ive never returned food with a complaint, but it was so awful. I drove back to the restaurant and asked for something else. The young woman at the front counter went back to the kitchen to ask if theyd be willing to swap out the order. I was surprised she had to do that. Ive never heard of a restaurant not putting the customer first. She came back looking guilty and told me they would not be willing to replace my meal, I would have to pay for it. She was embarrassed and apologetic. I left my food there...didnt even want it in my house. SAVE YOUR $, AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!
They have actually gone up hill. when i first moved to ellensburg i HATED panda garden and refused to eat there. fast forward a few years, i was craving chinese food one night and this was the only place open... so we ordered food from here. i got the fried tofu with peanut sauce and my husband got mongolian beef. my food was delicious... his food was barely spicy which was a bummer seeing as we asked for it to be literally as hot as you can make it, but the flavor was good so Im not too upset.theyre not great. but not as awful as they used to be.
This placed sucked. I the chicken was hard and bland and I got 3 small pieces of it. There was no pork in the pork fried rice. I never got any chow mein with it instead they gave me a gross greasy looking whatever it is and I’m scared to eat it. After being on hold for 30 minutes, they said they sent someone over to pick up my food and hat I would get my money back. Never got the money back but the kid did pick up my food. Horrible customer service and food. Waste of 15$
If youre low on cash, and maybe had a few drinks, it seems worth it. Its otherwise something you could buy from the frozen section. Bad flavor, bad quality, good portions. Assume the ingredients are cheap and decide how much you care about that.
Best in town, easy delivery
I didnt even order the food but I ate it and it hurt me.
Best place to eat
Great food, good service
We called to order enough food to feed our family of 8. Panda Garden lists dinner combination specials, enough to feed 2 people, and priced additional order pricing. We called in the order for delivery, tried to order 1 House special and 1 Panda special, plus additional appetizers and Lo Mein noodles. The gal taking our order stated, You have to order 2 of the same thing, which I said, No, I want one House special and one Panda special, the order itself is to feed 2 people. The gal insisted we couldnt do that, and we had to order 2 of the same thing...dumba**! Anyway, we conceded, ordered 2 Panda specials, plus the rest of our original order. After receiving the delivery, paying almost $90 for the food and tip, we ended up with only enough food to feed 4 people! NEVER ORDER FROM PANDA GARDEN !!!! I dont have $90 worth of food here, and after calling back, the same gal was trying to explain that what we ordered was only for 2 people - which it clearly states on their menu that ONE ORDER will be enough for 2 people! PANDA GARDEN IS THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Two Thumbs Down, Epic Fail, Go ANYWHERE else!
I actually used to work for this company. I havent eaten there in months because frankly, it is poorly run and the manager is pretty heartless and money-hungry. Regardless of that, tonight I decided to order from them because they are the only Chinese restaurant who deliver at this hour. Now, working there before, I know how far they deliver and how much they charge. Everyone (3 different people?) I talked to on the phone just to order my dinner were rude, and the man tried at the end of the conversation tried telling me they didnt go out this far (I live in Kittitas). After I told him who I was he changed his mind but said he would charge me $7 for delivery. I can remember very well that they most they charge is 6. One dollar isnt really a big difference but that is not professional.
Good food, good prices.
Good place to eat and quick
Good value for and good food
Fried rice smells like Play-Doh, and the chicken tastes weird. Eat at your own risk. Also too expensive.
It is the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I think only the college students eat there because it is the only Chinese place in town that delivers....AND they do not know any better.
Basic American chinese food. Regular price and service. The one good thing is theyre the cheaper place in Ellensburg for Taiwanese Bubble Tea😉😁😀 yumm!
Like most businesses in Ellensburg, they dont answer their phone. The food is mediocre Americanized chinese food, greasy, bland, overcooked until it all tastes the same. The physical space is functional, but definitely not created with the appeal of the customer in mind.
