The lady in the office was great!! No hassles!!! He didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need. 💕 He didnt question me about what the problem was either, He got our muffler fixed same day, in and out in 30 min, and he did excellent work.

Great shop! They changed their name to Etling Automotive, but Im not sure if its the same owners or not. I had an exhaust leak that 4 other shops were unwilling to do any work on (there were several holes and it needed to be partially replaced/welded). I was beginning to lose hope on having a quiet car again and Etling took care of it in an hour and a half with no hesitation. Great price too! I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for expert work and honest prices.

They wont do any work without communicating with you on what they may have found as well as prices. They dont pressure you into any unnecessary work. As well as getting it right the first time around.. The owner was a complete wack job. He seemed to be strung out on some type of drug and very rude. Dont think I will ever be back. Poor guy that is in the shop, he was very friendly and helpful. Would only take my car to the shop guy if the owner was not there!! The owner is the reason I will never go back!

I called the day before to schedule an oil change and all the man said was 8 am in a deep stern voice. I replied back with oh ok then he hung up. I get here 8 am the following morning and theres a sign on the door to honk for service. 10 minutes of calling and honking and I decide to go up to the garage doors and knock. An older gentleman said Im not sure why he told you 8 am no one is ever here that early. He said he doesnt know how to use the credit card machine. So I then have to run to the atm. Meanwhile Im not allowed inside due to this covid ridiculousness... so Im just standing in the parking lot. Time to find a new place to get my oil changed....

I went in and told them I needed a muffler. Before I could even get to the counter to get a price, they had my car in the shop and on the lift. $191 for a muffler! I looked online and got a few other quotes, I seriously overpaid. Getting a muffler online with free pick up or delivery was $75.00. Both of my other quotes for mufflers were $125 to 130 installed. While it was great service, same day after waiting an hour and half, I feel like I overpaid.

Great service/excellent work! Had the break lines fixed in one day. Dropped the car off the night before, after they had closed. Saw that all 4 bays had cars in them to be worked on. Still got my car back the next day before closing time. Sweet!

They gave me a wrong diagnosis about my car and attempted to over charge me. Thankfully had a buddy who works on cars looked at mine and told me what was actually wrong, I was considering letting these guys work on my car too. Thank goodness I had someone more experienced look at my car.

Have had needed repairs done twice. This place is awesome!!!! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They do not take appointments but still got me in and out quickly. This is a place you can trust. I cannot reccomend them enough. They always show you what needs done before they do it and let you know the cost. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

This location has been run into the ground. Too many cars parked all over the place. They had to move vehicles out of the way just to get one out of the bay. I wont be back to this location.

Went in for an oil change and the man working demonstrated excellent customer service. Informed me I had a break light out and replaced it with no extra charge as well as got me out in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Nice shop, spent some time talking to the owner while I was getting a new exhaust put on my car. Great guy, will definitely be taking some other vehicles in there for work as needed.Just as an update, the weld holding the hanger came loose in less than a day. I didnt go back to have them correct it, so they probably would of fixed it but I dont have time to deal with it.

We were in Elkhart last July with our 40 ft motorhome. It’s tailpipe had rusted off. Main muffler was the only shop that would help us out. They created a 3 inch pipe we had a 4 treated us and our home on wheels with great respect did a terrific job and we had a little fun. Even helped us back her up and out. Thanks

This is the best place I have had work done in Elkhart ! When people say that these people have done bad work they have friends that owns garages so when they say these people steal or do shabby work maby ther friends own garages will get the work ! The person said that this garage stole parts from him never could tell the truth in school or when he grew up only friends he had was the trouble makers that caused trouble all the time ! It hurts me to hear people say these things about John and the people work for him ! DOCS DAD

Took my Audi there to get a wheel bearing fixed. The job took longer than expected. I still paid the quoted price AND even the owner gave me a ride home because I had to leave it over night.It would have cost me double what I paid to take it to the Audi dealer. Im very happy with Main Muffler & Brakes.James

Went to this place to have exhaust pipes repaired. The guy told me the pipes were pretty bad and he didnt think he could repair them. He said he could try to repair but it was better to just replace the entire exhaust system. I went somewhere else, chuchos in Elkhart who said the pipes could easily be repaired and did it for a fraction of the cost

Worst repair facility EVER! My husband paid $400 for this shop to replace mufflers. Less than TWO months later, the welds failed and the tailpipe fell off. When we went back to see the owner about this, he said that he was aware his welds were poor lately and he had had a lot of return visits because of it. He offered to fix it, but was going to charge us all over again. Even though he clearly admitted it was due to his inefficiency as a welder!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!! He’s a HACK and doesn’t stand behind his work!

Stay away from the one on Main Street if there Inc. I would say stay away from the them all . First the guy quoted me 140 over the phone then he upped it to 160 in person then changed it to 180 while it was up in the air
