The Sunderland Go-Outdoors store never has anything stock, been there many times and its a total waste of time, they have nothing in-store. Im surprised they have electricity. Always phone this useless store first before traveling as they have (nothing) (no sizes) and (no products) useless. I now just buy everything online. They wonder why? stores and shops are closing down and the reasons are (no stock) (no sizes) very frustrating.

Sure beats online shopping. You get to see and assess what you are buying and leave with the perfect purchase a few minutes later to use it at home that day. Excellent selection and good prices. Unbeatable!

Sad to say I was extremely disappointed in the customer service provided today at this store. Sale signs were removed from display while we were checking out and told no one knew or seen sale signs posted. Never have I felt so disrespected by a store... why not say we made a mistake these items are not on sale any longer.... will not be shopping here any longer. Extremely disappointed.

I was the only person to check out and had to wait 5 minutes while three other employees were talking amongst each other. When one of the male employees finally came to help me he didnt even greet me, and was in fact rude and sarcastic, telling me if I noticed I was standing in a checkout lane that had the number light off, which was literally right next to the lane that was open. Consider training your employees in delivering good customer service, they are very unprofessional.

We went for a fishing license, and the cashier was like, ugh I hate doing these. I was taken aback by that sweet comment. Then we had to go to another register to finish it off! Took forever!! Wow!

This location seems to be losing a bit of their inventory as it looks a little bit empty now. I purchased a Coleman lantern, but after getting it ready for a camping trip, i noticed that somebody had to have used it and returned it to the store as the mantles were burned through and the carrying case was missing the instructional booklet and the protective foam bumpers to protect the lantern globe. thankfully upon returning later on in the week i was able to exchange it for one of the 3 remaining Coleman lanterns in stock and verified there in store that it was indeed a new and unused lantern.

Finally found ammo for my AR and at a great price. A lot of the other stuff may be a bit on the expensive side especially the clothes but its definitely good quality, however I wouldnt shop here for my clothes out of my budget unless its for something specific. Ill definitely be coming here for my ammo and possibly other sport necessities.

Your go to outdoor activity and sports store. Like your local convenience store but without gas or snacks. Almost all can be found here. Replacement parts for outdoor gear and just about every type of sporting or recreational equipment.

Always great prices and selection on shoes, apparel, sports and outdoor needs. Love their Magellan clothing line. Shirts are great material and always comfortable. Their water sports selection is pretty good and really affordable compared to other locations such as cabellas. Got a fishing kayak for under $300! Definitely recommend!

Went to academy this week. Got some shoes. Mr Jorge was very helpful I bother him a couple times. Feel bad about that because he was stocking stuff and he had a lot of boxes but he help me out and went above and beyond. Very happy with him and his service. There was also two girls working in the shoe department. Didn’t catch their names but the one with silver hair was working I didn’t ask her to for help because Mr Jorge was closer. The other girl had brown hair and honestly she could of help out either Mr Jorge or the girl with silver hair but instead she was hiding in an area using her phone. I passed by next to her and she put it away all fast she probably taught she got caught. She left the area but later I saw her again in the same area using her phone again. I wish I had the name of the brown hair girl to put her on blast. Management please do something about her. Is not okay that she is doing that while the other two are working and also taking care of customers like me.-Thank you Mr Jorge for your help. 😁

Good selection, they carry a lot of hard to find products. Only two stars because they raise their prices during Christmas sales. I bought a baseball bat that was on sale for $25 got home and peeled the price tag off to reveal the original sticker price of $20. Shady business tactics.

Good selection I love that they will price match and beat any price in Texas thats a good feature. The only downfall is they really dont have a lot of back stock so what they have is what they have.

Inventory inaccurate. Drove 40 min for weight plates because the website said they had some in stock. I asked if they had any maybe in the back of their store but no one checked. Just said they didn’t have any. It would be a little difficult to steal plates so why the inaccuracy? I hate wasting my time. I even tried calling prior and no one picked up in team sports. Who ever does inventory needs to track their errors.

Variety is less every day. Service is finally the game changer. Staff is careless and not interested in feedback. I hope management can turn the situation around.

But even this well managed and inventoried store cannot fully control every single customer. So your only concern will be that one shopper who disregards Covid protocols. But thats true everywhere. Academy does all it can to make your shopping experience COVID SAFE. Pls do yours.

Heres another big box store trying to capture the market. They started out good with enough sales people around to help. Now theyre few and far between despite the numerous signs that urge you to ask a sales associate for assistance. Then there were prices on the shelf that were either misleading or just wrong. (Not even worth arguing...) . As usual Id rather drive further and pay more to get the service I should get without the aggravation. Finally, why do they have so many cash register lanes when they rarely man them to move customers faster? (A rhetorical question that I already know the answer to.)

Prior to pandemic had lots of items and inventory. Currently looks half full and lots of items out of stock.

Every time I go I find what I need. Need more places like these where you can find exactly what you need. Place is always clean and organized. I will always go here for my outdoors needs.

I went to this location to fix a return issue from another academy location. Once I walked in the employee “Carlos” greeting me very nicely and helped me right away. While standing in the entrance I witnessed a middle age women to trip on a shelf. The husband pulled the shelf out and threw it on Carlos. Saying very aggressively “My wife tripped on this, thank you very much!” In embarrassment Carlos stood there and took it well. I’m my opinion that was very rude coming from the customer and Carlos deserves a raise or a pay in the back. If I were Carlos I would of took it to the next level defending myself. So, Dear, management. You have an awesome crew member named Carlos! Praise him!
