This is definitely the main place to rent equipment in San Diego. Place has that nice small business feel and the owner is kind too. Staff is really knowledgeable about equipment and great customer service comes along with it.

A few years ago I wrote the review below but I recently stopped by. I had actually moved to SD recently with all of my equipment so I havent been renting from here. They had gone through some renovations and had taken more repair jobs. This week I needed to get a Yamaha acoustic guitar fixed there as guitar center had told me my warrantee would be honored there and they could fix it. When I arrived Audio Design staff told me right away that guitar center was mistaken as acoustic guitars are not repaired there, but Stuart, at the Front desk showed me a place that can do it right away. Mike who works in the repairs offered to look at my guitar anyway, figured out the issue and a few neck adjustments and 3 or 4 minutes later had it back to normal. So, just a big shout out to mike and Stuart for being so helpful. You guys are great! While I was there I got to ask Stuart about there lighting rentals which turned out to be reasonably priced so I hope to see these guys soon!Older posting:This is my one stop solution for rentals when Im in San Diego. The equipment was very well taken care off, everything worked as it should. I recommend asking them for setup checklist to make sure your sound is perfect. 10/10 will rent again

After 6 months waiting for a part, I came back 5 times and it was not done on time. Then finally they gave me my equipment, and the instrument was open without being assembled, and I have pictures inside the store, to prove it. They charged me around 100 dlrs.The worst part? The equipment was worst off after I took it to be repaired. And the person who helped, was Mike, He told me that if I knew what the problem was, why I didnt fix it myself... really? Why would I go there if I could fix it myself?!!!!! and he never gave me my money back and told me to never come back!All I wanted was to be treated like a customer, and to have my money back if they never fixed the problem. NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE! It is a scam... and BBB Better Business does not have it registered!Now I wonder why they are closing this place, and relocating to another place... yes, scam.They moved from 6555 El Cajon Blvd. San Diego, CA 92115 to a new location at 4836 Rolando Blvd. San Diego, CA 92115.

Not taken care of at all. Initially called Roland to get to an authorized service center. All I need is a simple adhesive trigger cone for my KD-120. Over the phone, Mike told me to email him my address to coordinate shipping (I live 2.5 hours away). Had to check in via email 3 times to see where we are in process. Initially, he replied by asking me to come in. I had to point out, that we have already had a phone conversation, and my address is listed below. Checked in two more times, with NO RESPONSE. This cannot be that difficult to order a small, simple, replacement part. Going on two months now of no service. Was told all is well, and can be shipped. Obviously, I have not been taken care of.

Very good experience. I got a speaker with a mic for.three days. They have me a free mic stand to go with it. I only wish that they specified that a mic stand was an option on their website because I ordered one that I ended up returning

The guys here are helpful and most of all not typical condescending about the way they serve you. Great job for that! 10/10 will be back!

Have been coming to this place for many, many years. Tip: Go in store rather than renting on their website. They generally take better care of you (translation: better deals). :)

We have rented equipment for showing a movie to a large group of kids numerous times and have always been very happy with how easy it is to rent the equipment and how friendly the staff is.

I recommend ADR for all your audio, DJ, Stage and lighting needs, from last minute stage rentals to UHF wireless mics configurations they are the best. I have worked with Larry and his staff since 2002 always with great customer service and great equipment at the right price. Awesome recording studio by the way.This is how cool they are: I was given 101 marriage counseling tips at no charge one afternoon when I ran into some discussions with my wife!!!! Definitely the best spot for audio rentals in SD. Personnel was nice and explained everything well, also provided extra cables for free on top of what came in the package.

Best kept hidden secret but at the awesome rates and excellent customer service they are going to blow up and get famous, form a drug addiction, have a major fail moment, hit bottom but then slowly find some inner self and never fly to close to the sun again but the burns will forever remain. I went to Roberto tapia concert at Pauma Casino. I enjoy the concert but The audio suck. Sorry Roberto tapia dont rent, get your own system when on tour.
