This place is legit! NOT CHEAP but worth every penny if you dont like breaking down in your boat. They are super knowledge and are nice guys when you have questions.

Due to crazy backorders, parts for mercruisers are getting hard to find and these guys get it in with haste! Great place for your boating needs! I found this shop by some other shop telling me about it. Loved it! The guy that helped me over the phone, was patient, knowledgeable, efficient, and finally got me the right answers for the parts I was looking for my boat. I met him when I went to pick up the parts. Exactly the same as in the phone. They also have a pretty good website with all the schemings to help you get to the rights parts. They are local! And with good prices. I’m going back whenever I need something, I much rather pay a little extra than found online and get my parts right away and support a local business.

We need a A special tool so my mechanic said he’s gonna call his friend I said you know we can do it faster I can go get it from Sunset Marine so I called them and I said I need this kind of special tools and they said we have it when I went there I know how is the tool look like but the guy he said oh no it’s it’s this one and I said you know what I’m not too sure so let me have it so when I get it to my mechanic my mechanic said this is not the one I said let’s call Sunset Marine and let them know we did call them and we spoke to Michael and Randy they said they don’t have the other tool they and didn’t refund me my $50

These guys are great! Was having issues with my boat and had already threw the wrong part at it, unfortunately they did not have an appointment to get me in, so they talked to me over the phone and told me what to replace, said it’s was a 9 out of 10 chance and it fixed the problem! Back on the lake! Saved me money and they have definitely earned my business in the future!

Once again I found myself needed a boat repair shop. There seem to be a few good choices to choose from but luckily my friend already used Sunset Marine. He mentioned how the people here are very honest and helpful. After my experience with Sunset Marine I can say first hand any marine repairs you need, you should take your boat here period.

Joe at the parts desk was extremely helpful. Never did I feel like I was brushed off even though I was only looking for an old outboard impeller. I will definitely be going to them for other parts.

This is a great boat repair shop with an amazing selection of obsolete parts. Both guys behind the counter know what they are talking about and willing to help. My Mercruiser engine has a lot of time on it, way too much time but these guys keep it running like new. These guys have been around forever and Im sure it because of their great service and obsolete parts.

I did some major research before I chose Sunset Marine. Boat repairs are expensive so i wanted to find someone I can trust. These guys have stars on yelp and yellowpages. After seeing that i decided to go with them and never looked back. great service at very reasonable prices.

Wish I could give less than one star but had to to be able to post. Took my boat to them last year for a tune up and new water pump. Everything seemed satisfactory.Took it in again because it wasnt cranking over and would kick back, which broke the starter. They replaced the starter and said I needed a new ignition module and coil. Then they said my flywheel was damaged and they needed to pull the out drive and motor to replace it. Then after all that they said they couldnt diagnose the problem of not firing and kicking back. The bill was still $2819.00.I paid it so I could get my boat back and take it somewhere else. Wish I hadnt paid them, youll see why in a minute.The next place I took it found the problem by referring to the Mercruiser wiring diagram. It was a broken wire in the shifter/throttle handle. Im now certain the ignition module wasnt the issue to begin with.I take it out for a run on San Diego bay and notice that the starter sounded rough but when it started up, it ran just fine accept for the fact that when they (Sunset Marine) put the motor back in, they didnt hook up my exhuast correctly and water was speaying all over my motor. About the 4th time I started it, the starter broke and I had to get towed back.The next day I decided to look at the starter and noticed it only had ONE bolt holding it on!Took it back to Sunset on Monday and asked them to make it right and in short, their response was that I didnt know what I was talking about (Im a former Marine Surveyor btw) and they didnt want to touch it.Back to my go to place and they found a BROKEN bolt stuck in where the 2nd bolt should have been PLUS 2 bolts on the bell housing backed about halfway out...not much more holding my motor to the coupler.So, thats my recent experience with them.
