In the past I have had a very positive experience at this service center and would give it 4/5 but my recent experience has been more on the negative side. The service center has begun to feel overly sale-sey. One example was a recommendation to change my transmission fluid at 25k miles which seemed very premature. This was suggested as I stood outside my vehicle instead of in the lobby where the service manager will typically look up the factory recommendations and take the time to explain what can be deferred but keep a watch on vs. needs to be done right away. While the service was being performed I received a call to buy my car from.tje dealership. Except for warranty work I probably wont be coming back.

Our car needed service but they didnt want to sell us the part, said it would take up to 3 to 6 months or more
Came here for regular service and received a text from the service department with a list of things that needed to be done on my car. Didnt think anything of it until I saw they had marked that my brakes were in the red and needed to be replaced immediately. I noticed that because my dad had changed my brakes 1 week prior to bringing it in. I asked the service advisor at pick up if they marked my brakes because they visually check them or do they just go from mileage from the last service. He told me that they actually check them visually. I told him my dad changed them 1 week ago and all he said was oh dont know why thats there then and scratched it off the paper. Not the first time this has happened and its also happened to my parents here too. Do yourself a favor and save yourself some money by going somewhere else.
James from the service department has been very helpful to us. Hes the best! Micah from the part store is awesome as well. He really knows about the parts we needed and was very helpful. We were there a few times and hes very good. Great customer service! Keep it up! I wish other dealers were like this one. We even got a ride home and back to the dealer when our Honda was ready. Bad customer service, they promised the part and give me appointment and took a half day off to take care of my car but when I went there they were out of stock for that part which they have already confirmed they have it.

The service department is fine. I do not like the Dealership for many reasons. I have leased 4 new Hondas from them since 2013 and I wouldnt give them my business again. If I was getting #5 honda it would not be from el cajon honda. I think the GM and body shop Manager are a total joke I dont have time for details. I think El Cajon honda is a SCAM.
