Yeah, this place is awesome. I had the task of replacing my media screen on my 2013 model S (for screen leaking glue, common problem) so I called in to get a replacement. Henry was super-knowledgeable about all things Tesla, and even gave me a tutorial on how to replace the touch screen in a model S he was dismantling, and some things to watch out for. Overall saved about $1000 doing it myself, and it wasnt that hard because I had such a good idea of what to do thanks to Henry. Ill definitely be back when I need anything for my Tesla in the future!

The place to visit if you need used parts for a BMW. Excellent prices, way lower than could be found anywhere else. Knowledgeable staff. Convenient location, close to major freeways. Open Monday through Saturday. If you have a BMW -especially a used model, you should give them a call or stop by.

John at Autobahn Dismantling has been taking good care of my 2002 BMW X5 (212K miles) for several years. John had a transmission replaced two years ago. Last week I heard a clank in the transmission area. At my age (73) I dont take chances. I shut the vehicle down and called John for another transmission. He checked his records and said the transmission did not have that many miles on it and thought it was not the transmission. He suggested I take the car to ATS Transmission & Auto Service on India Street in San Diego. I did and sure enough, the transmission was fine. The problem was worn steering control arm bushings. Flat tire so I picked up a spare tire for a SmarCar this weekend and everything went pretty smoothly. Glad these guys are around. They were pretty friendly. They have used parts for good price and even better if you bring cash. Old school mechanic shop meets bodega setup. Handling used parts and all, gotta remember to bring a rag or hand wipe next time. I will be coming to them next time I have a SmarCar part emergency.

UPDATEJust got the seat on my e39 fixed. The dealer wanted $1500 for a seat. AUTOBAHN price was under $250 and they guarantee the work.They will not sell you what wont fix your problem. These dudes are awesome! This is a shop for real mechanics. If you have an idea of whats wrong, they either have the part or know where to get it. Dont go here expecting a prissy little showcase of parts with high prices and attitude. They have racks, and racks of original BMW parts and knowlegeable mechanics that can help fix a problem, but you may have to wait your turn because they stay busy.They ship parts to you if needed via snail mail and Fed EX at reasonable rates. I have had several parts shipped to me in distant locations for less than I could have bought at the local yard and faster than a dealer could respond.The shop web presence does not do them justice. Sean and John are super courteous and so is the rest of the staff. They all drive fix and race BMWs so no matter what you need they probably have it.
