I went here for the first time and I dont think Ill go back. The food was excellent and I liked the ambience. However, the air was so smoky that all my clothes smelled like smoke after half an hour. Maybe they were having trouble with venting their panini press on that day.

This place is amazing. Everyone is always friendly, and its a great atmosphere. Ive tried several different wraps, and you really cant go wrong. Everything is always delicious. Their salsa is so good I could have it everyday and never get sick of it. I tried a Thai tea the last time I was there. It was different, but so delicious and light. Effingham is an hour and a half away from me, and I would make the drive just to eat here.

Best grill cheese ever. Other menus items ordered my family were equally good. Great dressings and a good variety of coffee drinks an smoothies. Easy to get to from interstate 70.

We stopped by on a cross country road trip and we were not disappointed! The service was great. Our barista was so kind and friendly and our coffee and breakfast sandwiches hit the spot. We will definitely visit anytime we are driving past from now on!

Stopped here traveling thru on i70.. bout 2 miles off the interstate but worth it if you have time…they have a awesome variety of lite food and of course lots of specialty drinks! Very good.

We came into town to eat at a steakhouse but accidentally discovered this oasis in the desert (or I should say corn). All the food was top-notch: excellent salad plate, soup, hummus, housemade bread, amazing carrot cake. Would highly recommend to anyone passing through.

What a great place! Met one of the new owners. She is super nice and takes significant pride in the Cafe. Coffee was perfect. I had a latte and my son had a Costa Rican pour over. I also met the previous owner, Kevin, who still roasts the beans for the Cafe. You have to check this place out. Super cozy inside and from what I heard from the other patrons, the food is amazing.

Awesome food! I ordered online for my food to be ready at noon and had to wait ten minutes before I received my order. It was 1210 when they got my food and when I asked them about my order they said they were just making it. I was there at noon and ordered online at 1130am.

Dont miss dessert, which for me was one of the best cheesecakes Ive had in a long time...for $3.75!Counter service can be slow during lunch rush and, because food is prepared to order, it can take 10+ minutes to receive it. So, be patient and relax in a nicely restored building in Downtown F-ingham.

Peaceful atmosphere for social outings. Im a health nut so its nice to eat somewhere with healthy options. I love the Ham & Havarti Sandwich with the chips and the black bean salsa. The tossed salad is also great. Love the toppings. The caeser dressing is a bit salty but has a good flavor overall. I highly recommend the Gourmet Grilled Cheese. Its to die for! Joe Sippers has a great variety of coffees, teas, and smoothies that are very yummy.

I love this coffee shop! My husband and I live in Denver, but have family in the area so we visit a few times each year. Whenever we are around, we make sure to pop in and stock up on coffee beans and have lunch. The owner and staff are super nice, professional, and fast!

One of my favorite places to in town to eat and to grab coffee. They have a fancy breakfast sandwich that is amazing! Trust me, try the sandwich. They also have a great lunch menu with wraps and sandwiches.

One of the best coffee drinks Ive had between Georgia and Wisconsin. Worth the stop. Food was excellent also, but I would be back for the coffee. Plenty of parks nearby if you would rather not dine in, which we did not. Also, M&M cookie was delicious. Interesting array of gifts and coffee gear for sale. Website did not work for us on mobile so not able to complete order ahead of time.

Dont tell my local shop, but youre coffee was absolutely A- mazing. I am not a half coffee girl, but my partner is. I even tried theirs and it was stupendous and full of so much flavor. If I had 1 complaint it would be the sizes are too small. We will visit anytime we are in the area.

I stopped here on my way to Indianapolis from St. Louis. All I knew is that it was my half way point and it appeared to have healthy lunch options. Little did I know that I was about to have one of the best wraps I think Ive ever had. The cafe itself is deceptively large inside with a rustic home town vibe. Tea and coffee line the walls behind you as you wait patiently in line to get your food or beverage. A small roastery can be found in the small backroom area. The smell of coffee and the chatter of many people fill the air. I ordered the BBQ Chicken wrap with chips and salsa. The flavor was on point and not overwhelming. That cilantro dressing was incredible, the cheese amount and pungency was just right, and the BBQ chicken was not an unnecessarily sweet mess, all the flavors melted in my mouth and I felt like I won the flavor lottery. I look forward to going again when I drive through Illinois in order to try another food item and indulge in some, what I assume, will be delicious coffee. Stop by and have a try, I dont think youll regret it.

This little coffee shop has so much to offer. I’m not a coffee drinker, but I love their tea! The food is delicious. I love the art displayed on the walls. But what sets this place apart from other coffee shops is the service and the quality of their products. They are always going out of their way to make this be the best experience for you.

Owner degraded a customer who did nothing wrong. Owner didn’t notice customer was standing there bc she/he was short and owner started talking about customer to employees and lost my business for poor character. Food was good. Decorations were good too. Service from all staff was okay. Owner is a poor example of hometown coffee shop hospitality.

This place reminded me of the little shops and cafes in Bellingham, WA. Healthy eats for sure! Delicious food! I had the pesto melt with chicken! Soooo yum! And their tortilla chips and homemade corn salsa is amazing! The sweet rose iced tea is interestingly delicious! A friend shared a piece of her chocolate cake she purchased their as well while we were there. It was AMAZING! The prices are higher than a normal cafe, but its worth it because the food is fresh and wholesome and good and homemade. Worth the extra costs for sure!

Stopped here after 12 hours on the road. This is a little oasis convenient to route 70. Small but quality breakfast menu; the breakfast sandwiches were delicious. Excellent coffee, and good selection of non - coffee beverages as well. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Ample seating, relaxing atmosphere. My only wish is that it was closer to my hometown!

I LOVE Joe Sippers! Im nearly addicted to their breakfast sandwiches and iced tea. The breakfast sandwich is packed with flavor and is reasonably priced. The atmosphere is cool, hip, modern, and best of all - clean. If Im ever asked what my favorite part about Effingham is, my answer will definitely be Joe Sippers. Ive never been in town around lunch time to try their sandwiches, salads, and wraps but if the breakfast is any indication, theyll be delicious too. Highly recommend this cozy, quaint, and unique cafe. Also, I love that the owners are Christians and its locally owned.

Not a fan. My chai was watery and the latte my daughter got wasnt drinkable. The staff was really nice and the place is comfortable and clean, but I doubt Ill stop next time Im driving through.

Quick stop in on a Saturday and had a great rum and maple latte and my wife got a simile vanilla. We were both very impressed with the texture and flavor. They have a ton of space and lots of neat local art, especially for a smaller town like Effingham.

What the actual issue with the work hours of this place? We had no chance to try their coffee because restaurant was closed on Tuesday at 7:40pm.Why is it closed if you supposed to work till 9pm except Sundays according to your schedule?!We were planing trip beforehand and needed coffee very much. It’s very unpleasant when you are left freeway for a particular place for nothing.Updated: the owner contacted me saying they fixed the work hours issue so I changed my review to 4 stars. Unfortunately, I won’t be in the area soon to try the coffee.

Joe Sippers alone brings Effingham up by a few considerable notches. I worked here for almost 7 years, so believe me when I say that this place cares about quality. All of the food is fresh, high-quality (more and more ingredients are coming from local sources), and the prepping process in incredibly clean. The place seems to get better with each passing year, and more recently theyve even begun roasting their own coffee. Its also a great environment to sit and visit or read a book (who doesnt love reading while surrounded by wonderful coffee smells?) This place will satisfy coffee and food lovers alike, so bring your appetite if its your first time.The staff here is also exceptional, and works hard to get your order to you as quickly as possible. Sometimes during the lunch hours when it gets very busy (which is often does), the orders coming out can take a bit longer due to the small facility. But please be patient and know that caring hands are working as quickly and professionally as they can to get you a quality experience. Its worth the wait!

Fresh good quality salads and well made lattes. We are driving from Austin to Chicago area and were SO tired of truck stop food & coffee. Joe Sippers Cafe was a welcome break and only about a mile off the highway. Friendly staff too!! Also, its not every cafe that can meet our dairy free and wheat free dietary restrictions, but they can here.

Had the Yogurt Parfait, Strawberry Smoothie with Energy Boost Ginseng, Soup of the day Broccoli Cheddar, and Pita Panini w/ chips. It was delicious. There is parking right by the side entrance and the atmosphere is cozy with lots of space. Highly recommend!

As small cafe owner I rely on the supremely roasted coffee which is second to none in my opinion. I have never been let down by a single cup of joe yet!! Excellent quality and customer service.

The service was poor. Employee keeped looking at us when we went up to the counter, but never greeted us. I had the turkey and cheese sandwich. There was plenty of turkey and cheese. It had 3 soggy pieces of spinach on the entire sandwich, the tomatoes and cucumbers were soggy as well. It came with chips that were very stale. Not worth 10.00. they didnt not even ask if I wanted anything to drink. My husband had the tuna pita and said it had too much garlic, but my daughter enjoyed her grilled cheese. I would not recommend this place.

I love the variety of food options, the quality of the coffee and the quality of food... except the chicken used in wraps/salads. Beyond that, this place is fantastic with exceptional people behind the counter.

This place has a great atmosphere and staff. My first visit was disappointing due to my muffin and coffee not being the best. I decided to give it another try and someone else made my coffee and it was delicious.

Both were excellent but the coffee was exceptional! As a driver who travels all across the country stopping at various coffee shops, I can tell you that this one is worth going to!

Great cortado and breakfast sandwich

Stumbled upon this cafe on a long road trip. I ordered the gourmet grilled cheese. It was tiny and had one very thin slice of cheese with a tomato slice. The bread was delicious though. The grilled cheese was served with tortilla chips and nothing to dip them in!The girls behind the counter were less then thrilled to wait on us. I was not impressed and would not come back.

Excellent coffee, HOT enough that adding cream did not turn it lukewarm! Nice variety of food options and our choices were both yummy!
