The employees in the lumber department are very rude. They do not offer to help you. Make you load your own lumber. Then as they watch struggle they continue to walk on by. Was so mad put all the lumber back along with a few other purchases. Purchased a large window and didnt even offer to help loading it. Did I mention that we are 2 young women??? Wont be going back very disappointed in service.

Great store, loaded with just about everything you need for home projects. Clean with friendly employees. Some of the workers lack knowledge about the store layout but given the size this is understandable. Checking out can be a little slow when busy but no worse than most stores.

I was told to leave the building because i did not have a mask on. When I requested one they explained that they have them for sale at the front but that they cant sell me anything if Im not wearing a mask.I am no longer doing business with companies that implement policies such as these.

I understand they don’t have much room but I getting late for 2nd stop-my 2nd stop is Menards too and they are almost closed the store. They have to use 6 guys to unload is done in half hrs-no overnight, restroom inside-nice to shopping here while they unload-friendly staffs

Bought a pressure washer, used it 10 minutes, blew an o-ring (I think, water coming out of the bottom of it) They wouldnt take it back, I had to take it to a repair center.

The lady at paint counter was not real. Friendly and went to check out and the lady at register was having conversation about the womens baby. After we stood there for 20 min or more. Because the people could not get there credit card to work slowwwww a d could have been more considerate for customer waiting

No one asked if we needed help. Had to load twenty sheets of drywall by ourselves. Once we got it to the cashier and paid for it, someone did help unload it onto our trailer.

Perennials in quart pots were $1.50 @ MeNards in Effingham! Gonna keep them alive till it dries up a bit, then look out!

My coworker was checking out and his mask slid down on his face. An associate approached him and told him to pull his mask up. We didnt really understand her and when I asked what she said, she was rude about it. Are you all forgetting that were the customer? Since when does any employee at a retail store have the right to be rude to customers that are paying their wages. He didnt intentionally pull his mask down to infect anyone in your store.

I walked in store was told to put on mask that there required so I had to leave and take my 2 year old sister with me but before I got in the building I watch 3 people with no mask on exit the building and Im not supposed to be wearing mask. Drove all the way from Charleston Illinois to effingham to come to Menards and I wasnt even 5 ft from the door I came I was told to leave.Yall just lost customers!!

Everyone is too busy moving things around, talking and driving forklifts to stop and help someone pick up a prepaid order. If they expect you to get out of your car they should tell you that at the gate when they say theyre calling back to tell them you are arriving. Out of 5 or 6 workers there should be one designated to notice arriving vehicles and expedite the customer pick up experience. Instead they look at you and go on about something else. Very poor pick up service!

Require you to have a mask at checkout instead of stopping you when you walk in and asking you to put one on or buy one. No sure what good it does to walk the whole store without one then get 25ft from the exit and require it.

Very happy they make you wear a mask here. Found some cheap firewood for $5 a bundle back in their fireplace/ plumbing department. I was here 9/13 around 6-6:30pm getting my 2 bundles of firewood. My cashier was the nicest sweetest girl I’ve had a chance to talk with. Give her a Team member of week or month vote.

This is the most insane store I’ve ever visited. If there is ever a zombie apocalypse this is the very first place to occupy. They have it all. Every tool, bulb, etcStop in and get lost. Menards has it.

To be honest, I prefer my hometown Menards best, since I know where everything is at. That said, the staff here is very friendly, much bigger store than what I am used too, seemed newer and cleaner than most Menards too. Half of their parking was getting repaved but they still had enough room for me to get my big sleeper unit and 53ft trailer in there turned around and parked. Glad they had my winterization kit in stock. Was in and out in under 15 min.. Only complaint, there was a homeless guy messing with my reefer unit, luckily nothing was messed up...just really annoyed.

I was greeted at the door by a greeter who asked if i had a mask. I said no and she proceeded to yell loudly that they(menards) sells them. Told her i would buy one then i was told i was not allowed in the store and was told to leave. She made a scene and embarrassed me in front of the other customers .

I cannot wear a mask due to medical conditions and I was allowed into the store bit not allowed the check out. This is unacceptable. I will not do business here again.

Wore my mask like a good little minion... No one within 20 feet of me at back of store, so took down one side for a quick breath... Mask police (worker that had to be laying in wait) came flying by to scold and reprimand me . Please just stay in your lane with the lumber and let me shop.

Im asthmatic and literally cannot breathe with a mask on. Went shopping and we was wearing our masks, i would like to add my son has autism - having one of your workers step in front of my son and personally asked him face-to-face what his age was and then has the audacity to cut him off because he could not tell them properly his age fast enough! asked me and my son to leave because he was under age! No ONE stoped us at the front door! We even walked around the store for a good 30 minutes passing many workers without them saying a word about my son! It took one ignorant worker to stop me over my son! MY SON WAS CRYING! Unprofessional very ignorant business!

Menards in Effingham is one of only a handful of businesses that has followed CDC recommendations since the Covid pandemic hit the US. It is also one of the only public places I feel completely at ease shopping.As it was prior to Covid, Effinham Menards is well-stocked, clean, and the employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. If you are a do it yourselfer, looking for lawn furniture or decorations, a great variety of plants and landscaping materials, appliances, lighting, pet or bird food, or even snacks and greeting cards, this is the store for you.

Menards is a good retail store. I shop there often. This trip wasnt the most fruitful because they didnt hsve what I wanted. This is very unusual for Menards because they always have what Im shopping for in stock.

BEWARE FAMILIES OF COLOR - My family just moved here from Michigan and we decided to visit the nearest Menards to us today, as soon as we entered we were followed around by several employees making it very uncomfortable for me and my family to shop around giving us strange looks. We waved hello and they woukd walk away... We noticed we were the only family of color and couldnt help feel that we were being treated differently for the way we looked. We decided to grab what we needed and leave.

Was asked to leave store for not wearing mask,( even though associates and customers were wearing masks on chin and just over there mouth) I had been in the store for 20 minutes, talk to 2 different associates, then out of the blue a rude associate came up to me( closer than 6 feet mind you) and ask me to put on a mask to have respect for others. I said I dont have one and could you provide one for me, he said I could go buy some and told what isle theyre in. He was very sarcastic and snooty. So its all right to walk around to find the mask then wait in line to check out then put on a mask to continue shopping. I told him he was sucked up into the drama, drop the items I had in my hands at hes feet and left. Home depot will be my go to place for now on. Btw Menards, if your not wearing n- 95 masks, then your rules are pointless. Just saying

Manditory mask requirements but doesnt post signs outside saying so, denies customers access to restrooms, unfriendly staff that will stalk you around the store and off the property. Guess i know where ill never shop. Go spend your money at lowes or home depot.

Got everything I need

Really liked the layout of the aisles,making them easily maneuverable with a power chair.The merchandise was nicely organized and displayed in a fashion. In which made it easily accessible to access,especially for patrons with a handicap.But had a little bit of trouble,trying to locate a employee for Assistance.But otherwise I really enjoyed,the time I had shopping there.{And you cant beat the prices} 👍

Special ordered a light fixture. that was simple. I was not informed that the special order department is located in the back of the store. there I found six guys goofing off, two of which broke away to assist me. it took both of them to find the one box, which they handed over and said thanks. I proceeded to the exit only to be stopped and asked if I had signed for my special order. what? I have my receipt. Ive managed to find the special order department. now I have to sign, as well? nothing like making it simple. so I stood in line to wait to sign. I understand the protocol. I dont understand the lack of communication from the get go. was I just supposed to know? my ESP license has yet to arrive in the mail.

Absolutely ridiculous that I was stopped for having my nose out of my mask (several times) due to breathing issues and they had at least 10 employees with their masks completely down!! Last dollar I will EVER spend there...

Ive been here several times for our remodel, and every single time, the employees here have been amazing. Very, very helpful and excellent customer service, particular James and Peter in plumbing and Eric in windows and doors. I couldnt say enough about everybody that works here, and Ill gladly drive the 45 minutes to come to this store instead of 20 minutes to Lowes.
