Saved our Vacation!!! We were travelling from Winnipeg and had put on around 9,000km on the vehicle in 2 weeks. Upon driving from Detroit, we had issues with the vehicle pulling and a couple hours later we realized we had an issue with a wheel bearing. Upon fully breaking down we called and they were able to fit us in right away. The very next morning we were able to be on the road to our next adventure! SO thankful for the great team and environment from these guys. Would recommend

I took my 2003 envoy in for repairs and informed them I did not want to sink a bunch of money into it because of the age of the vehicle. They call me back quote me a price of $285 so I tell them that will be fine, then they call back later and say we fixed that issue found another issue and fixed it to. The price is now &388 and there is this other issue that will be $450, do you want us to take care of that as well. I don’t appreciate them doing unauthorized work and stringing me along with further repairs.

I was driving through Illinois on I-70 when my car started leaking radiator fluid. They were extremely friendly and helpful and got me back on the road within a couple hours. Great customer service!!

I had issues even getting my car to work. I putted my way and made it. I called Effingham Auto and asked them to tow my car and fix it. They came and picked it up and were able to drive it to their shop to save me money instead of a tow. They were at my work to get it within a half hour and I had my car back before my shift was over. Very courteous staff and VERY quick and effiecient. I would highly recommend Effingham Auto!!!

On my way to visit family for Thanksgiving, I heard a weird noise coming from the front of my car. After inspecting it myself, I noticed the front strut was bad. The power steering had been acting up for months, so I thought I would fix both at the same time. I called around to a few places and Effingham Auto was the first one that could get me in before I had to go back home.They inspected the car and gave me an estimate for both front struts. They informed me that the power steering issue was part of a recall and that the dealership should fix that for me at no charge. I had them replace the two front struts and when I picked up my car I was surprised to see that the cost was actually cheaper than what I was quoted over the phone.They impressed me on several levels. I have had mechanics in the past who wouldnt have even looked to see if the power steering issue was covered by a recall. They would have simply given me a quote and sent me on my way. Not only did Effingham Auto save me money be fixing the car for less than the quoted price, they saved me another $1000 by informing me of the recall.TL:DR - Great customer service & saved me money.

Car had non-functional speedometer, two other places said it needed to be replaced for $250ish, this place found a busted wire and soldered it repairing the speedometer for $30. Very happy customer here.

Replace part that dont need to be replaced then charge you for it. They replaced my head gaskets and didnt put the radiator hose back on properly and expected me to pay for the hose that was leaking. stay way from these people

Favorite auto repair place in town

I took my Subaru in for a power steering problem and they replaced the O ring and said it was fixed and that I also needed new sway bar link and all new tires. I asked how bad the tires were and they said I couldnt make it back to NC. I went to pick up my vehicle and the power steering problem was WORSE. I asked to see the old tires, and they were not cracked as said, still had tread, and were bald on the edges but wouldve been FINE. They kept my vehicle there to look at the power steering problem further, and their solution was to puncture a hole in the power steering fluid reservoir screen. They said they didnt have time to order a new reservoir. My vehicle makes a terrible noise the whole time driving and even louder when turning. Puncturing a hole in the screen causes debris that otherwise wouldve been filtered out, to be pumped throughout the rest of the hoses and pump, causing further damage. Now theyre closed and I have to go back to NC, after spending $575 on secondary issues that didnt need to be addressed and they didnt even fix the issue I brought it in for and most likely will have caused more damage. What a great service, especially after I told them I am unemployed and only have so much in my savings to spend. Never going back.
