This was our first purchase from Roy Schmidt and it was the best, easiest car purchase weve had in 40+ years. We called the dealership looking for a hybrid and talked to Clint. We set up an appointment and he had the car ready to test drive when we arrived. He knew everything about the Accord Hybrid and did a great job of explaining the vehicles features to us, as well as how to receive service after the sale. His sales style was easy-going, knowledgeable and refreshing and he truly made the process so easy. We picked up our beautiful Accord Hybrid 24 hours later and are loving it!

Definitely recommend. Purchase process was quick and simple. They fixed any issues I found with the car before I bought it.The 1 down side for our experience that isn’t really a huge deal is they didn’t fill up the gas tank or do a full oil change before we drove it off the lot...every vehicle we’ve ever bought did both as a “thank you for choosing us”. Not a big deal, we are still happy with our purchase, it’s just one of those extra things that are appreciated.

Roy Schmidt Honda has a hospitable staff, great service, ascetically pleasing interior; I cannot say enough. I went in for a routine oil change on a company vehicle while I was in the Effingham area, and was amazed at the service they provide.

I cannot say enough about service advisor Brent Abbott and his service department team at the Honda dealership in Effingham, IL but will try to keep it relatively brief: while traveling from Oklahoma to Indiana two days ago, every systems warning light began flashing on my 2018 CRV as we exited to have dinner and find a hotel for the night. Its important to note that the issue Id experienced the afternoon before leaving was an Emissions Systems Problem light coming on, so I drove directly to the dealership where Id purchased my vehicle (and extended warranty) nearly 4 years earlier. I was told the issue would need further diagnostics performed and the earliest they could work me in was 8 days later - but that I should be fine to take this 1600-mile round trip as long as the light wasnt flashing. Imagine my panic when that warning light (as well as every other one possible) began flashing 500 miles into the trek. Brent was so kind, patient, and efficient regarding my plight, and was able to get us back on the road 3 hours later. Not only was he able to calm my nerves, but also to shrink the total cost down to 10% of what we were expecting initially! I am so impressed by Brent and the Roy Schmidt Honda service department that I would actually prefer to make the trip to Effingham to do business with them over my dealership back home when considering my next vehicle purchase - and have told all my friends this. Thank you, Brent and team - I am your new #1 fan!

I love using Roy Schmidt Honda. I just like how they are so willing to accommodate and do everything they can to fix the problem right and as reasonably as they can. I actually chose to pay 3X the amount to have my vehicle towed from my residence to their dealership recently for a transmission issue. Adam in service called me every step of the way to give me options and break down the repairs. My wife and I had a good experience buying a CR-V there. Salesperson Mark Schmidt was very patient answering all sort of questions regarding vehicle and financing policies. We are one and a half hours away from this dealer, but it worths a travel because their price was ~$800 lower than my local dealer (considering the current microchip shortage, most of dealers sell at MSRP and they dont negotiate prices, few dealers even raise their prices). We did a trade-in and their quote was reasonable (refer to the KBB estimate). We left a few personal items in the traded-in car and Mark mailed those to us on the next business day. Highly recommanded if you want a Honda car with a reasonable price!

Well I had a completely different experience this time. Called and talked to same sales person, I requested some information and it never showed up. Called back a week later and found out it was sent to the wrong person. Drove to dealership after getting the Carfax to drive a 2016 Civic touring edition. Took it through town and noticed the AC didnt work, when I returned the car the guy said yeah there is something wrong with the AC but Im sure we can fix it. Thats not something you want to hear when your looking to spend $16000 on a used car. The salesman called me when I was leaving town and said well watch our website, if your interested in something else let me know kinda felt like they could care less if I purchased anything from them. They never offered to locate me something, I knew exactly what I wanted so it shouldve been easy. I started looking on autotrader and a week later i ended up driving 4hrs away to pick up my daughters Civic.
