This location never disappoints. They have very nice selections and varieties. Clearance items are also good quality of you thoroughly look.

They always have interesting stuff aside from there normal sports and outdoorsy stuff.

First time going and it was huge, clean, and had a nice selection of what I was looking for

Love to buy my son his football gear from here and the cleats are awesome! Variety of mouth pieces to choose from. The employees are very helpful and patient.

Its a great place to get your outdoors gear.The only problem I see is that is always low on stock! Maybe thats a good thing for the store,but not for the shoppers. Other than that its awesome 😎

This academy always seems the best the most organized out the ones I have been to. I also tend to go early in the morning before it gets swamped with people but the bad side is that sometimes its hard to get someone to help you out.

I enjoyed shopping. found several shirts . Went up front to ck out.. they had one register open and about 30 people waiting to ck out. No way was I going to wait for 30 minutes or more. I left and made sure the lady at the door knew why I was leaving. Very nice greater. And was very apologetic. That store needs to be better managed.

I hit up some Black Friday deals here, mostly for the gun range: range sling bag, ear & eye protection, Nike baseball hat, pistol cleaning kit. I also come here for new workout clothes, socks, etc. love it. I love the quality and price of everything I buy here. Pictured is the Drago sling bag.

Its in a rough plaza to get it and out of, high traffic. The academy is really nice though. Its not really messy or crowded. Took off a star because I could not find an associate to assist in a department.

Worst location for curbside pick up! They dont answer their phones for any department and start closing 15 mins before 9 p.m. Whats the point of being open until 9? Change your store hours to closing at 8:45 p.m. if youre not going to let people in. Three employees came outside at different times and not once did an employee even look towards curbside or seem to acknowledge that curbside even existed. If you dont want to offer curbside, take down the option. It took over 30 mins to get our order and thats because my husband got off to go in to tell them we were waiting for our order but he was told at the door that the store was closed (at 8:50 p.m.). This is the last time I ever order or shop at this location. The Academy in McAllen off Ware is way more helpful and an overall much better experience and store in general. I doubt my call would be answered tomorrow if I tried to speak to a manager. Avoid this location for online ordering!

Such a great place just a little pricey

Ive bought stuff from here before and have a usually pretty good customer service. Today, I went to pick up my online order. The line wasnt long but I waited at least 20 minutes at the pick up counter. I couldve bought it in person and it would have been faster since there more than 1 cashier open. But, I was patient.I came back later today to return and exchange for a different size but unfortunately only 1 out of the 2 pants I bought had the other sizes. The lady on the floor said if I go ahead and ask the Customer Service dept, they may be able to get the right size for the other one online. So I lined up again. I got to one of the ladies and immediately her tone of voice wasnt very welcoming. So I thought ok, shes having a bad day. So I decided to be a little soft spoken about my situation.She asked for a receipt with a demanding voice. I said I didnt have one printed since it was an online order and it was an email. She responded by saying I wont be getting a full refund since I dont have one. Then I showed her the email and she proceeded. She added that she couldnt order the other size because they dont do that. They just dont. I said Ok. What do I do with the other pants that I wont be needing? I can return it for store credit.At this point I gave up. I took both stuff and walked out of the store. I will reorder online for the right sizes and will have to come back to return the other ones. Im hoping my next experience wont be as horrible as it was today.

I placed an order for pick up in store at this Academy location 15 miles away from where I live. I put my husband’s name down as an alternate pickup person and when he went to pick up the order, he was informed that I had already picked it up. I had not, but when I checked our email I had a notification that the order had been picked up 2 hours prior to my husband arriving there. I had not left my house. The store manager told my husband that his sales associate had delivered the package curbside and that the person picking up the items identified herself as me and had my order details!! WHAAAT!? How is that possible? Is online ordering at Academy compromised? Is it not secure? Is this a common occurrence? I have NEVER had this happen elsewhere. This was my first time ordering from this store. I have contacted Academy customer service. I asked to speak to a supervisor and my request was denied. I then called the store 6 times to speak to the store director. The operator and none of the departments answered. The phone would ring and then disconnect me. I am extremely concerned about this situation, and will NEVER order from Academy again. The whole thing is just sketchy. BEWARE!!!! Online ordering at this location may be compromised, and your information may not be secure! If I had an option to give zero stars, I definitely would!

Went in to go shoe shopping for my 6 yr old. Not one single employee in the department. I went up to the front of the store to ask for a manager, he got paged at least twice and after 10 min. he never showed up. The one employee in the shoe dept. that was there, was in the front of the store helping a customer out.Id like to ask, how incompetent do you have to be to not know you need at least two employees in the shoe dept.Knowing its Friday and some school districts are about to open. Truly disappointed.

Got there an hour early to buy ammo. Management ask what ki d of ammo I was looking for so that I wouldnt have to wait and find out later they do t have it. Many more people arrived and took a couple of minutes after 9 to open But when they did we all bought ammo.

Not too crowded. They had germ-x at the entrance of the store for costumers & clear shields between cashier and customers. I found what I needed.

30 minutes for a curbside order that was ready 2 hours prior to our arrival. Had to go inside to get someone to get our items because it WASNT ready. Why would you send a confirmation that it was ready for pick up if it wasnt??? We had TWO items!! Horrible service. Every other car parked for curbside was waiting forever too. Management need to get their scheduling together.

My friend went into academy today and she was wearing her volleyball shorts. as she was shopping a 5”9 hispanic man walked up to her and asked if she needed help. after her dad said yes, he helped them, however i read that there were social distancing guidelines. the man was uncomfortably close to her and even when she showed signs of uncomfort he still tried to stay close to her. i believe that the manager should do something about enforcing social distancing rules and staying at least 6 feet away from the customer when shopping.

Really bad customer service, I bought a firearm and have some missing pieces, they don’t even made the effort to resolve the problem. It’s been almost 2 months and I don’t have any answer from them.

I knew exactly what I wanted. No one bothered me. Everything was easy find. Clearly marked and price was visible. At check out there were long lines but they had several checkout lines open and customer service was also handling overflow. Good management. Check out clerk did his spiel for credit card but wasnt aggressive. Always friendly.
