These guys are great. Very customer driven. I used their gun smith services and have no complaints. They were quick, affordable, and professional. Those are all the things that I think make them better than the rest. I would highly recommend anyone take their firearm business here whether purchasing new or used or using their gun smith services. The shop is not huge but they always had plenty of staff and want to make sure the customers are taken care of.

Moved from our beloved Texas about a year ago and was actively seeking an honest genuine gunsmith. Searched South Ridge on Google and read all the excellent reviews. Brought in my AR and 30-30 for some work and accessorizing and boy did they deliver. Dave is a great guy albeit talented and his Wife (Michele I believe?) is charming and warm. This is a good firearms store with friendly staff. They are very knowledgeable, and always willing to help. They dont have a huge stock, but can get anything you are looking for pretty fast. This is one of my two go-to stores in the area.

After searching the south sound for a specific ammunition, we found South Ridge Arms today. The staff were courteous and knowledgeable. We were also helped in choosing the best parts for a rifle build for the lefty in the family. Well worth the trip from down south.

Make sure you know what your buying, i was looking for a berreta x92, but the 9mm was expensive, so I asked if they had a 22lr version of it (wich is a beretta x92 with a 22lr conversion kit), they said yes and ordered me a beretta m9, COMPLETELY different gun, and even tho it hasnt been shipped, are so far unwilling to help me change it to the gun I asked for. To update, this isnt a difference between the 22lr and the 9mm, this is a difference between the m9 and x92, both models have both calibers, also as discussed to me on purchase, no serial number could be made available, so there was no special order, it was just an order, and the document I put my signature on did not have a serial number when signing. However, I also see that the website you buy the guns from falsely shows pictures of the guns being purchased, wich, the only description I had was a picture on a screen of what I was buying. So im going to switch to 3 stars temporarily to show you how we were both lied to and allow you the ability to fix it and move my funds over to a more expensive gun.

Wonderful, personal service here at Southridge Arms and Refinishing. All of my interaction with the staff has been first-rate, and I appreciate that they had Rise Armament triggers in stock...one of my favorites!Quick comment regarding Dave: he had a customer come in with an older, collectible 1911, that had a rather nice patina, who requested that the slide be ported and that other incidental work be done to modernize the look of the gun. Dave took the time to explain the inherent value of the gun in its current condition to the customer and told him if he really wanted to make the gun better to just take it apart and thoroughly clean it. This clearly cost Dave income as he would have done quite a bit of work to this 1911 but he respects and values collectibles. For this reason I highly recommend South Ridge Arms and Refinishing.

This is a new and only gun shop in Edgewood WA. The owners Dave and Michele are very friendly and always provide good customer service. Dave is an excellent gunsmith, and he has gained a lot of business from customers and his turn around on gunsmith work is busy so you will have to be patient to get your gun serviced if you are coming in for gunsmith work. Ever since the first time I stepped foot into Daves shop, I felt welcome and like he had my best interest in mind. This shop is not out to just take your money, they are here to help you!Yesterday I brought my gas tube from my AR-15 into his shop. I was having gas cycling problems at the time and he requested that I bring my gun in the next day. But without me having to ask, he took my gas tube in the back fully cleaned it, and brought it out looking brand new. Complimentary service! So today I brought my rifle in, having adjusted and reassembled the gas system myself, I had taken a test shot this morning and I was still having malfunctions. Dave took my gun in the back, worked on it a few minutes, and gave it back to me, TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE, AND GUESS WHAT? IT WORKS NOW!!!I have been going to several gun stores in the area and Ive never been satisfied with the way the staff makes me feel. Particularly at Federal Way Discount Guns, they have always been so rude, for years, but I still keep going there and spending my money there because they are close to me.This is the only shop that I will go to from now on. I had one of my bolt rifles coated here, and the workmanship and quality is outstanding. I inspect paint and finishes for part of my job, and was still impressed with the work! Also, the rifle I brought in had bases, scope rings and a scope that wasnt set up at all, but were just attached to not be lost. They took the initiative to fully mount and boresight the scope for me. That touch of quality and the extra mile will make me a repeat customer!

I have had nothing but excellent experience with them! I just purchased my fifth gun from them. Michelle is awesome!(although not there today because she has Monday off). I walked in and found excactly what I was looking for. It was a used Walther PPQ M2 9mm that they let me disassemble and inspect. It was nearly perfectly clean. I would be surprised if more than one magazine had been fired through it. It was also about $150 cheaper than new. All accessories and the box included in like new condition.Give them a call if you are looking for something specific. I always find something I want in this store.

Not a terrible place. While they do have a small selection of new firearms, most are used. Pricing is a little higher than a lot of other shops in the area but the gunsmith knows his business. One major dislike that I have is that when doing a private party sale/transfer, they take possession of the firearm. Im not sure I agree with that practice since its not their property, its not there to have any work done on it and youre not transferring the firearm to them. Theyre the first shop Ive seen or heard of that does that. All other shops that I know of let the seller retain possession of the firearm. I dont know about anyone else but Im not a huge fan of someone else holding onto my stuff if they dont have to. Might be a non issue for some but for me its enough to go elsewhere.

These folks are top notch, and then some. Went in to have a problem fixed, and figured I would be waiting a few days, and spending a fair bit, and I couldn’t be more wrong! The work was so fast, and the price was beyond fair. I can’t recommend them more, and I’ll be doing all my firearm business with them from now on!

As another reviewer stated, theyre overpriced and most of their firearms are used. Thats what brings me to this review... I used to go into South Ridge because I tend to like to help out the little guy stores. Recently I went in to buy ammunition, as Ive done numerous times in the past and was talking to one of the girls behind the counter. In the case was a Walther PPS M2 that Ive been considering for a while and asked to take a look. While handling the firearm, I noticed that it was bone dry and extremely dirty, like it had been used for several days on the range, and mentioned that to the employee. She said that it wasnt dirty and that she had pulled it out of the factory box earlier in the day and any grime probably came from the factory test fire. Im a law enforcement officer and I do all of my own gunsmithing... I know carbon build up when I see it and this particular pistol had several boxes of ammunition through it. Not only that, but a factory new gun comes with a nice coating of oil on it to protect it while being stored. I swiped my finger through the magazine well, along the feed ramp and in the chamber and it came out black as can be. I showed her and politely mentioned that it had definitely been used. I didnt want to contradict her in her own store but it was most DEFINITELY not a brand new, out of the box pistol but she was adamant that it was. Deciding to concede since it wasnt really worth making a big deal over, I took my ammunition and went to check out with the other girl that was working the counter. Much to my surprise, she copped an attitude when I mentioned that Im law enforcement (they offer a 10% law enforcement discount) as I have done many times, and she said, No. We wont be doing that this time. You want to come in here and argue, you can pay full price. First off, it wasnt an argument, I was pointing out a problem with their merchandise... If you want to sell something, you want it to be in the best possible condition, right? Second, if I ruffled feathers, I apologize, that was not my intention, and if you dont want to give me the discount that youve given so many other times, thats fine... just charge me the normal price and leave it at that. Im not begging for hand-outs, but to get an attitude like that because I pointed out substandard merchandise? Come on... really? I wont be going back there again. And also, to address that other review where they take possession of private party transfers while the background is going through, no, thats not required. Every store that Ive been to in the greater area will allow the seller to keep possession of the firearm. If you need a good place to do a private party transfer where you can keep your own stuff, I would recommend Sportco over in Fife. I wouldnt recommend South Ridge Arms for much else other than their gunsmithing.

I will not ever go to Dave again. I went to him for reblueing my Savage 99. Instead, he returned my beautiful rifle, completely ruined, by Parkerizing the entire gun, even the bone case hardened lever. This is not the only time he has totally screwed me and several firearms of friends of mine.
