Hi! I had such a great experience dealing with Randy at specialty auto group that I had to share it online. When I showed interest in a little Fiat 500 that he had he was prompt to reach me and give me all the details. I did not know how to drive a stick shift and initially didn’t want to buy the car because of that. Randy spent an hour with me teaching me how to drive it! The car exceeded my expectations and captured my heart. I love working with smaller dealerships. The process was so smooth, and the paperwork took like five minutes! There were a few hiccups on my end but Randy was extremely patient and understanding on working with me through the issues. I must mention the deal that he gave me as well. The prices are so fair. This car was sold to me at least $1500 below bluebook. I will always buy cars from Randy in the future! Can’t thank you enough. :-)

My Wife and I were looking into AWD SUVs and stumbled upon Specialty Auto, we started with the basic contact us on CarGurus and Randy reached out right away and answered our questions very quickly about the 2010 SUV we were interested in.Randy was very nice, easy to talk to and very informative. he reached out without it feeling pushy, it was a welcome gesture. We met Randy and traded in our old vehicle for a fair price and were rolling happily in our new used vehicle. Randy made the whole process easy, even financing was easy.Overall very satisfied and happy with the vehicle.

Ive owned this Envoy less than one month and have put less than 1,000 miles on it. Today it died. So, I emailed good old Randy, and this is what he had to say:Hi ElizabethDid you really send this email??? We did a really good mechanical inspection on the Envoy including a main computer scan before offering for sale...there were no stored codes for a transmission fault so how would we know when there might be a problem with a transmission on any used vehicle???. Do you think in todays hi tech world theres a CRYSTAL BALL SOME WHERE THAT WILL TELL US WHATS GONNA HAPPEN DOWN THE ROAD??? Did a dashlight pop on??? Anyway maybe you should call GMC and let them know as they built your SUV..were praying for you here and sorry for the inconvenience but how would Specialty Auto know when youve been driving???. Best regards...DO NOT BUY FROM THIS THIEF.

Do not buy from this business! Typical salesman that wants to scam good people out of their money and doesn’t care whatsoever what happens. His cars are sold to make it out of the shop doors but you’re lucky if it makes it to your house without the first of many issues popping up! Won’t stand behind anything and is extremely rude!! There are so many others on here with the same experiences, there is a pattern here! And you can see the extremely rude and sarcastic response to many people when being called out on his behavior!

I got so excited that I found the perfect SUV after searching for weeks, I sent in the request a little late in the day and got a quick response, I even texted trying not to be such a bug but he was so easy going and got back to me fast. If I come across anybody thats looking for a car Im for sure sending them his way😁 we definitely had a blast test driving, I just felt like we were two peas in a pod lol next upgrade Im heading straight to him hopefully you got some blue Audis on the lot lol!

My husband and I stumbled upon the Specialty Auto Wholesalers website about 6 years ago, when we were in the market for a Volkswagen. We were very pleased with our purchase, and found Randy to be very pleasant, honest and generously accommodating.Since then, we have purchased four more cars from Randy - 1 for us (the Volkswagen was involved in an accident), and 1 each for two sons and a niece.I highly recommend Specialty Auto Wholesalers if you are in the market for a good, reliable used car. And you can have trust in what you are purchasing, since each car is run through his detailing shop before it is put out for sale.

Helped our daughter buy a nice car from Randy. Disappointed at the follow up for claiming there was a second key, at time of purchase. He told us he was going to be at the dealer later that week and would call us back. Our daughter reached out a week later. He said he would do anything to get her that extra key, even go to the persons house to track down who they bought the vehicle from. Still nothing. I called yesterday to follow up. Today he called her back and said sorry no key. I can sell you one for $250.00If you work with these people do not leave or pay without what you were promised. Not upset about the key specifically, but the principle behind promising something he couldnt follow through. Sorry Randy. It ended disappointing. Dont over promise and under deliver.

We brought a 2007 Mazda CX-9. We needed a family size car with at least 7-8 seatings for a good price. And we came across Specialty Auto on FB for under $5k at 188k mileage. Randy was extremely helpful. He was quick to respond about the car inquiry and answered all my questions. But this vehicle did not last us. We barely drive 1000 miles and it started to have engine issues to the point that it was beyond fix. I am glad we cancelled the extended warranty for this vehicle. If anyone wants to buy a used vehicle make sure you do research on the car and get a carfax. Sorry Randy, I needed to update my review.

Unfortunately, I had to update this from five to two stars. Before signing papers, I asked if the mechanic, who they claimed checked the car thoroughly, found any issues. Brett said no. It was clean. Two days later, I found out there was an oil leak, that Randy had already purchased parts to repair, yet was then unwilling to admit was a previous know issue (why would you buy a part if it wasn’t a problem) or even negotiate a repair. Feeling taken advantage of.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS AUTO SCAMMER, IF I COULD RATE HIM AT 0 STARS I WOULD. Randy Bladder, is a liar and a crook. Seems it must run that way for every customer considering he has not ONE good review. My father was unable to purchase a car he put money down on due to a critical family issue... And he will not return our deposit. He is a crook and Specialty Auto is nothing but a scam. Randy Bladder is the absolute scum of the world. Do not buy from him, and if you do you are getting your money stolen from you, he claims there is nothing wrong with any of the cars he has but as you can see, everyone who has bought from him has had issues with him and has had to put alot more money into fixer-upper cars that he claims are in perfect condition. Dirtbag. Worst experience of my life.

Review №62

I should be able to leave 0 stars for the most unprofessional service that I have experienced in my life. There are several good reasons why this dealer has poor reviews. There were several issues with the way Randy conducted himself as a car salesman. First of all, he was too lazy to pull out the car fax or to even run a diagnostic check on the 2008 Acura MDX; after he had told us he would upon arriving. Second, he is also a liar and did not even test the car brakes before posting the car for sale. The car did not drive smooth at all and when I asked why the brakes felt loose, Randy said Its because it is an SUV. Thats a ridiculous thing to say. Third, he claimed the car was in perfect condition and that the car had not experienced any Minnesota winters, that was also a lie. In fact, I wish I had read the reviews that the dissatisfied customers had left before even wasting my time with this guy. I took it to a local Acura dealership and they spotted the same issues that the car had prior to being sold to Randy. I also was told by Acura that Randy was aware of the all the problems with The 2008 Acura MDX. Acura told us the reason they didnt sell this same car themselves is because of The financial cost to fix all The problems with it and that Randy had most likely purchased it from their wholesale auction. That was another lie that we caught Randy in because he had told us he bought it from Acura because Acura doesnt sell cars over 80000 miles. The guys at Acura were even thinking of meeting this SCAMMER called RANDY and eventually must have because when the inspection showed that the 2 brakes in the back were at a hazardous point we decided to have Randy pick up his car at the dealership, because we did not want to be held financially responsible if the brakes have out on the interstate. There was also no has in the tank and we were not about to go to a gas station and fill up for Randy. I told Acura we appreciate their efforts in helping us find out the problems with the car. It was going to cost around $8,000 to fix the car. While the Shyster, thief, scammer oops I meant Randy priced the car in Great Condition $13,900. Based on the cost of repair this car should be priced at $6,000 or $7,000 at best, which would be in poor condition. The car needs a lot of work and no car salesman should claim that a car is being sold in good faith when they refuse to disclose the issues that are wrong with the car. Last, Randy is a pest, or more like a flesh eating virus. When we decided not to buy the piece of crap car he claimed was a smoking deal, he decided not to refund me a $500.00 deposit that was agreed to be refundable in the event of not purchasing the car. When I tried to contact him in a peaceful manner to refund me $500.00 he told me that I was not going to get a dollar out from him. He also made negative remarks about a review my wife had posted to his website; which is illegal for businesses to do. He said it was a b.s review but my wife posted a picture of the mainance quote from Acura, that doesnt lie. SPECIALTY AUTOMOTIVE HAS BEEN REPORTED TO BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, and the CONSUMER PROTECTION BUREAU. It is one thing to sell a piece of crap car to honest people, but to breach a term in a contract is playing with the LAW. Please be smart enough to not fall for this smooth talker called RANDY, he does not care about the condition of the cars that he sells, hence why nobody has given him a decent review. He is a small business owner that makes a living manipulating honest people.

Can I leave 0 Stars? The dealer, Randy is a liar and a crook. When we arrived at the dealership, he told us he would run a diagnostic test in front of us before we left. (Lie #1)He still has an Acura MDX 2008 for sale and claims that Acura sold him the SUV due to the fact that it had too many miles on it. He said Acura doesnt sell anything over 85,000 miles. (Lie #2). He also said he had just replaced the spark plugs when he bought the vehicle (Lie #3). When we did a test drive my husband noticed the brakes were slipping a bit, he asked about the condition of the brakes. Randy told him they were in great shape. (Lie #4) He also states no MN winters for the car. (Lie # 5). Randy said the car was in Perfect Condition and that it was a Smoking Deal. He continued to pester and constantly send daily messages on what day we would come to pick up the car (because we lived 5 hours away). He also wanted us to wire transfer the funds to him, I am glad my husband said no. As the day we were supposed to pick up the car drew closer Randy kept sending constant reminders of the car and what a steal it is. He also kept asking the exact time we would be going to pick up the car. He kept advising us to purchase the $2000 warranty that would cover 100,000 miles. We had read some of the other reviews about people having too many issues after buying cars from Randy, so my husband made an appointment with Acura to do a used car inspection test. When we went to pick up the car, my husband told Randy that we would be getting it inspected at Acura first before we signed or gave any money for the vehicle. As we drove out the gas light turned on(he couldnt at least some gas in the tank). Acura had originally told us it would take an hour and a half to do the inspection, we were there for over 3 hours because there were so many issues with this Perfect Condition car. There is $7,986.32 worth of repair needed immediately on this car. Those brakes that Randy said were in great shape are at 1mm (they start out at 10mm and are recommended to be changed at 3mm). Acura told us that the brakes were at a hazardous point. These are all the issues with the car:Oil SealPower Steering RackAll Four Wheels need to be AlignedReplace Oil Pump GasketReplace Timing BeltReplace Water Pump SVCWater Pump and Drive BeltsIncls Refacing for front and rear brakesFront drive Acle Assy Replace transmission fluid cooler linesMaintenance on minder Symbol 3Service Auto TransmissionService transfer case Service rear differential Replace brake fluid$7,986.32!We were going to pay all in cash and trade in our car to that scammer, Randy!!!!Acura said that all the these things wrong with the vehicle is why they did not sell it themselves. They said they would have lost money to fix everything and then sell it. Randy had told us they didnt sell it because of the mileage (102,000). Acura showed us several cars they had over 110,000 miles to further prove Randy had lied. Those spark plugs that Randy had told us he had just replaced needed immediate maintenance. To our surprise Acura said they serviced the car 4 years ago and other multiple times here in Minnesota (Randy still has listed on the website that this car has No MN Winters). They also showed us all the places that are leaking (No wonder why Randy kept asking us the exact time we would be in to see the car, he didnt want us to come in and see the car win a bunch of leaks underneath). They also said that we needed to put gas in immediately and the service men at Acura laughed that Randy couldnt even have any gas in the tank when we were going to be buying this car for so much money ($13,900 to be exact). My husband told Acura that he wouldnt be driving this car off the property due to the fact the brakes were in such bad shape and there is also no gas in the tank. We paid $160 for the inspection. Worth every penny. When we told Randy all he issues, he told us he had the exact same paper in his office. He yelled that he was calling the cops and claim the car as stolen.

A 2004 nissan maxima (paid $3,799) with 175k miles, bought from this dealer turned out to be a fixer upper after being told There are NO MECHANICAL or ELECTRICAL ISSUES. My wife and I drove the vehicle home and as we get 7 miles from home the engine warning light turns on. We decide to take the vehicle in for inspection (auto diagnostics) the next day, to tires plus and as it was being driven, it starts losing power during acceleration, it jerks and stumbles, so we finally arrive at the tires plus to be inspected and after a hours worth of inspection, I was told it needed a new transmission, but I didnt believe that since it shifted just fine with no grinding or slipping. So I decided I should get a second opinion and a guy I talked to that was at tires plus waiting on his vehicle, suggested that if it was only connected to a auto diagnostics machine, that I should take it to OReillys since they had a auto diagnostics machine that was free to use, so I did just that within the next few days, and no codes for the transmission showed up, but instead, 2 codes showed, p0302 - #2 Cylinder misfire, and p0420 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1). I checked the ignition coils and spark plugs and were found very badly ASHED and CORRODED (salesman told me that the spark plugs were new and 3 ignition coils were changed by HIS SHOP MECHANIC). I decided to buy new parts and change the spark plugs and coils, then took the vehicle back to Oreillys for another auto diagnostic and the p0302- Cylinder #2 misfire was gone, and never came back, but the p0420 still showed up. So after doing a lot of research on the p0420 code and talking to multiple certified mechanics they suggested getting all 3 catalytic converters replaced because of the high mileage. I called every local shop for service quotes and now my wife and I are stuck with $1700 - $2200 in repairs and this dealership would not offer to repair the vehicle, instead only advised us to get it LOOKED at elsewhere. so now it just sits in the garage as a giant paper weight. The vehicle was for my daughter as a graduation gift, so she could have a vehicle to get to college and back. --- I would never recommend this dealership to anyone.
