Pocono Bagel is my place to get an Italian Sub in the East Stroudsburg area. A very large sandwich with good bread and all boars head meats and cheeses. Easy Decision. Clocks in right around $10 and absolutely never disappoints.My girlfriend loves getting the turkey breast and provolone on a hard roll (kaiser) but I wouldnt know...I cant bring myself to get anything but the Italian.

The only thing preventing this place from being 5 star is the terrible attitude of the older lady who took our order. We stopped there on a whim and it apparently annoyed her because we didnt call ahead. We are from a different state and like to support local establishments. I dont understand why this was such a big deal. Regardless, the portions were amazing and the bread was fresh. Would eat here again.

By far the best deli in the area! Cares about customers and their food. They are doing everything possible to keep everyone safe from COVID as well. Definitely call ahead though as they seem to be slammed whenever we go in

Best Ruben sandwich ever tortellini salads awesome theyre always friendly even when theyre busy we call ahead they usually have it ready sandwiches are delicious to so darn big to eat the first half and take a bite on the second half and hes the second half you might as well take the rest of the day out because youll be stuffed . sandwich are nice and big to share lets just say if you leave there hungry something wrong .

I meet friends in this lovely spot from time to time! This is my favorite spot to eat. I visit this spot many times. The food is just great, the staff members are helpful and the payment is affordable. I like going in this spot to have a tasty meal.

Wow. Walked in to pick up our order. The guy at the counter dropped one of our sandwiches on the floor and picked it, put in right in our bag. Yes the sandwich was in a wrapping. But still... makes me wonder if they drop food on the floor, pick it back up, and still cook it for their customers? We should have asked him to make it over, but its fine. Karma. All I have to say is that person should handle customers food how he would want his food handled. He didnt even say sorry, how rude....

Went in on a slow Saturday afternoon and we were the only people in the store. We were asked if we placed an order online and we stated we had not and asked if that was ok. The woman at the counter simply turned her back to us and walked into the other room. Meanwhile, the other two employees never even turned around to acknowledge us.After a five minute wait in complete silence, the rude woman walked back into the room and still did not speak a word or make eye contact with us. I turned to my family and said lets just go. As we started to leave, the large aggressive man screamed BYE without missing a beat. When we got to the door, the woman finally said Can I help you? I asked if she was the owner and she said she was the partial owner- but I do not know any business owner who would let three paying customers (who have been going to this establishment for over 15 years) stand at the counter without so much as eye contact or a greeting.We have been in the restaurant industry for over 40 years and know that most establishments would have employees fired for acting this way towards customers. We have worked for multi billion dollar restaurant chains, country clubs, and family owned establishments and NONE of those places would tolerate such childish and unprofessional behavior-especially by fully grown adults. The food quality and customer service is an absolute disgrace (our bagels were burnt last time- but we still returned to support small business). The most saddening part was this could have all been avoided if someone had just said hello, we will be right with you.We went to Hot Bagels on Milford Rd and were greeted and treated like paying customers AND their food was superior. The staff at Hot Bagels, while half the age, were FAR superior in their customer service abilities than those at Pocono Bagel.

A local favorite of mine, quality meats and cheeses (Boars Head), personal favorite of the i -house made roast beef which is nice and rare usually. The sizes of their sandwiches are also great, a “regular” sized sandwich is over the top, enough for two sandwiches amount of meat (my preference), and their lite is still IMO more than more than most Delis put on their sandwiches. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because of the size of the location, it’s a local hot spot so it can get very busy in there during lunch, and the inside is very small, as well as it being a take-out establishment only. These small things have not kept me from being a returning customer, so go ahead and give them a try!

The biggest and best NYC style subs in the area. They aren’t cheap with their deli meats. If you ask for a lite you’ll be full. If you ask for a regular you’d better be real hungry. They pile it on!!!! Nice hidden gem. No frills just good food and good service.

I’ve been going to this store for over a decade. I guess they changed owners because the food is disgusting and the customer service is worse.We got ignored by the staff because we did not place a phone order (there was no sign on the door or else we would’ve called). The woman asked if we placed a phone order (didn’t say hi) and when we said no, she walked away. We literally stood there in silence for several minutes before deciding to leave and try elsewhere. As we walked out, this EMPLOYEE SCREAMED AT US. This large man screamed at us because we were walking out of a store where we were being ignored.What these employees didn’t know if my dad had died of brain cancer a few days prior and we were getting food after the funeral. We were already all heartbroken and distraught and just wanted something to eat after a stressful and emotional day. We did not need or deserve to be ignored and then screamed at when we were just paying customers who were sick of standing at the counter without being acknowledged. Don’t waste your time or money here.

We stopped here on the way to hike Mt. Minsi during the pandemic and WE WERE SO IMPRESSED. Curbside pickup was no problem. But the sandwiches that we ate after hiking up 1000 feet were maaaaybe some of the best we have had ever! Meat and cheeses cut fresh to order. Super affordable. Nice folks. We will be back the next time we hike in the area!

Great sandwiches! The 2 gals that make the food are awesome and have great personalities. A regular sandwich has a TON of meat in it. So if you go for the full monty be prepared to eat. I take the light option, about half the meat as a regular and it still fills me completely. PB&D has been around a long time and they never disappoint.

Italian sub was great but two stars because of the bacon egg and cheese was microwaved🤢 so horrible! I wouldn’t recommend for breakfast sandwiches.

I gotta say, theres nothing like their deli sandwiches. They stack it up like the good old days unlike some places where they only give you an eighth of a pound of meat and call it a sandwich. They give you about half a pound and if you dont like it, they give you the option to go LIGHT! The price is reasonable as well, their hot food selection is also very appetizing.

There is no better place to get a sandwich or hero in the Poconos!! One thing...if you DONT tell them that you want a light sandwich it will be as big as your head!! They have quality meats & cheeses from Boars Head!! Its also an awesome group of people running it!!
