This was my FAVORITE cat adoption experience ever! Loved it! Highly recommend it!
This place is amazing! I dont want cats to be homeless, but this is a place a cat wouldnt mind staying whilst waiting for their furever home!Very kind, passionate and knowledgeable staff. Great products like stickers, pins, jewelry, etc. Constellation Cat Cafe supports other small businesses and artists and focuses on Michigan based products. All while making yummy drinks and caring for cats?! What a triumph! They also host many events to keep the community engaged and ensure lots of human visitors for the real stars, cats! The staff truly care for the health and safety of the cats, and work hard to get them into foster or permanent homes. Even if you cant adopt a cat, rent the cat room and get you some cuddles!!!
Good mission but need more cat and did not have any menu items with cat in it.
Such a great place to visit and enjoy the presence of so many cute cats! I love that all the cats are rescues and adoptable. Clean, calm and with a huge sticker and pins selection. Also I love supporting local lgbtq+ small businesses. I’ve seen some reviews here complaining about having to pay to see the kitties but I’m pretty sure that money goes to rescue centers so I don’t mind paying to help other animals in need. Also the butterfly lemonade is awesome!
My girlfriend and I came here and can not recommend this lovely café enough ! everything from the little details, to the main event (cats !) was so adorable and a very chill and inviting atmosphere. the gift shop/café area when you walk in is very reasonably priced and has a number of high quality stickers, pins, notebooks, rings, and other souvenirs. the two drinks my girlfriend and I got were also very tasty. the cats are incredibly friendly and playful and all available for adoption ! the workers seem to care for the cats and they are working to get them to loving homes. 10/10 would recommend visiting !
We booked two individual tickets for a 50 minute visit to the cat room. Toys were sparse, as were the floofy inmates on the day we came for the visit. I was told I could come back for another free of charge as I was kitty shopping, and was handed a card I thought would be good for another visit- it was only a plain business card. Ill be donating some kitty toys. The previous visit, I picked up a naughty but loving kitty from them and was looking for a companion for him. If you want a cat cafe in Mid-Michigan, youll join me in supporting them.
This was the most amazing experience ever. The cats were amazing, and very well cared for. All staff was very nice and very helpful. The small shop was absolutely adorable. Absolutely plan to return.
So I want to say that I am not happy about the fact that I have to pay for myself also when taking my 4 year old and my 9 year old niece to this place. I mean spending $42 on one hour so that my daughter and niece can hangout with cats? Mostly when I can careless about cats? Crazy. But, I am giving them 5 stars because the staff was so great at handling my disappointment. I was so irritated, I argued with them, but they were so nice, so professional, and so sympathetic. They apologize and even when I said well, I wont be coming back again. They still were so nice to my niece (she is 9 years old) my 4 year old and me. The lady in charge was just the best. Even though I ended up paying a total of $42 for 2 little girls to hangout with cats for one hour and I said I was not coming back again, I think I might just because I truly appreciate their respect, professionalism and the way they handle the situation.
I love it here! i visit constellation cat cafe on a monthly basis, sometimes even several times a month. ive gotten to know the owner and the staff very well, and they are respectful, compassionate, and sensitive to others. ive become attached to so many of the cats, and love seeing them get adopted. this is one of my favorite places to hang out when im feeling down and need some animal therapy.
Love it so much. Everyone had fun - cat lovers and otherwise alike!
Neat place for cat lovers to go play with cats and kittens. All cats are adoptable. They are a cafe, so they offer beverages for purchase and they have a little gift shop area. Just be mindful you do have to pay to play with the kitties, but they also welcome volunteers...see them for more info.
A purrffect little coffee shop where you can enjoy good drinks and chill with amazing cats. Too make things even better all the cats and kittens there are up for adoption! So beware or you will fall in love with all the cats therePs- Masks are still required
Super cute cafe, with fun drink options and a ton of adorable knickknacks on sale. But of course the highlight is the cat room, getting to spend time with the adorable, and adoptable, kitties! Love it!
We love supporting local businesses (and cats), so we try to visit the cat cafe once a month for the cat room. The staff is extremely kind and Constellation Cat Cafe has become one of our favorite places in Lansing. When we were looking to get another cat, it was obvious where we should adopt from. We adopted Ollie recently and we are impressed with the love and care the cat cafe has for the cats. The cat cafe is now even more important to us as Ollie has been such a great addition. Highly recommend if you are looking for a new family member or if you want to just relax in the cat room! ❤️
The owner and GM don’t care about how much of your life you have put into this business, as they still made multiple false accusations about me after I had been volunteering there for a year and a half. The GM was so rude when approaching the situation, so this goes to show that they may act nice, but in reality the GM is mean. I put so much time and money into the business, but they still lied to me. The way they approach controversial situations is inappropriate. So only come here if you are okay with supporting a business that thinks it’s okay to lie to the very people that support it most. I would be willing to talk with the owners more about the false accusations, but they don’t care to reach out.
I did miss that I couldnt have coffee but being there made it a trip well worth it. I saw about 7-8 cats throughout my time there. I didnt get a lot of interaction time but it was clearly an ethical place that cares about the mental and physical well being of their cats, allowing them safe place to hide and insisting on not bothering asleep or eating cats. Cats I did interact with were friendly sweet and playful. The merchandise was very adorable and thoughtfully handpicked for the audience that they have. The worker there was an excellent candidate for the job, very kind and helpful. I do think volunteers make it slightly more difficult to interact with cats, but I see the usefulness. Overall very relaxing and clean and fun. I would come back.
Cant say enough positive things about the staff, the care of the cats, and just how wonderful this business is for rescues
Took my kid here for their 20th birthday for a visit and came away a week later with two new kittens! The inside of the cafe is just the cutest (with a really good chai latte) and all of the staff are incredibly sweet and accommodating, answering every question we could think of! The cats, of course, are all absolute sweethearts as well - I will definitely be recommending this cafe in the future!
My wife and I spent a lovely time in the cafe, drinking some of their unique tea blends and cocoa before heading in to see their kittens in the adjacent room when it was time for our appointment. It was great! Loved spending time with the little stinkers, and the cats were all wonderfully socialized and sweet. The entire experience, and the nature of their business as a whole, is amazing and I cant recommend it highly enough for cat lovers OR tea/coffee lovers! The best of both worlds. On a tangentially related note, upon leaving the store we discovered that our car wouldnt start, and we were assisted by one of their employees (who was leaving her shift) in trying to get jump-started for a good 15-20 minutes. When that unfortunately didnt work, the kind folks at Constellation offered to let us stay in their building and keep warm while we waited for the towing service to pick us up. We spent about an hour in their store during that time, enjoyed some more tea, ate some breadsticks from a nearby restaurant, and watched the cats through the window inside the cafe, and generally the entire experience was much more pleasant than it had any right to be.The nature of a business is often tied at the hip with the nature of its employees, and I can say with confidence that these people, and this business, is a blessing to the people (and cats!) of the greater Lansing area. I hope I dont have to get my vehicle towed again anytime soon, but if I do, I hope its in front of Constellation Cat Cafe again! :D12/10 Definitely coming again. Thanks so much for everything!
We love constellation cat cafe. The staff is wonderful, sweet, and so attentive to the cats. The cats are super adorable and have the best personalities. My family is at our cat limit and typically cant handle seeing cats up for adoption because we want to adopt them all. But we love visiting the cat cafe because we know they are having a blasting running around and are going to be adopted .The events they offer are awesome. We did Harry Potter trivia and loved it. The kittens fell asleep in our arms. We are excited to try one of the craft nights. Also the cider is amazing. I love their merchandise as well. I went christmas shopping there because they have the cutest pins and jewelry.
Its a very nice place, but however we bought coffee and then wanted to go in the room to see the cats, which we were told was $30, and if we paid that we could have had drinks included, ( after we spent over $15 on drinks ) really wish I would have known that before I paid for coffee, I would have definitely gone in! we ended up not going in with the cats, but they were really cute to watch.
I started as a volunteer in January 2020. I have been continually impressed by the passion of the staff and the rescue partners. The level of compassion and care that goes into each cats journey with the cafe is inspiring and humbling. I strongly recommend coming by for a visit - either to hang out with the cats or to find a new FUR-ever friend!
Amazing place!!! Even if you arent able to adopt, you can donate to the cause, meet the kitties, and give them some love. The cats are clearly VERY well taken care of. Its a really great organization to support!
Wonderful humans that endlessly care about cats and community.
Good deal for the 55 min cat time, had a bunch of kittens to play with and love on
Wonderful atmosphere. Friendly employees, very clean and the cats are a riot to play with. Highly recommend visiting the Cat Cafe for some fun. Support local!
Constellation Cat Cafe is always a great time. Wonderful, caring staff and, of course, adorable cats! Grab a coffee or tea and relax for a spell.
Spending an hour in this car cafe was incredibly relaxing. The cats are well socialized and the staff was helpful. Sadly, the cafe element of the business is getting shut down (hopefully temporarily) but this is still a very pleasant way to spend some time and destress during the pandemic.Staff were very safe and remained masked and safely distanced.
Im adopting. Not positive from where, seeking all avenues. Great concept, good info given. Will follow protocol for adopting.
Nice to see the Cafe open. I saw an adoption while I was there!!
First my experience has been via Instagram and phone conversation about adopting two kittens. I attempted to connect via Instagram about a kitten, I never received a return phone call which wasnt professional at all. Then I called after a post to ask about adopting procedures and in my opinion they are a bit pricey and complicated. I am a responsible animal rescuer, I am in a position to adopt two for my home and wont be through CCC because the price is way too high! I understand that vaccines, care etc are provided prior adoption but it doesnt cost $200 per kitten. And they decide if your a good fit by observing you with the kitten when you come in to view. Too much control.I decided to go through Capitol Area Humane Society instead where they receive shots, spay and I can buy one get one free! For $125.This may work for someone else, its a innovative brand, but too pricey, intrusive, and not enough immediate feedback.
Wonderful and charming cafe in Lansing. Knowledgeable and caring staff and amazing room to meet adoptable cats. If you are looking to adopt a cat this place is worth the visit!
My drink tasted watered down.
Get to play with and pet cats without the expenses of owning a cat. Plus the money goes to a good cause.
Wonderful place with some great coffee.
Very clean, the staff is super nice. And the drinks are great too! I love how they take care of their location and the animals. The pice is fair and if you love being around kitties they have volunteer opportunities! Well worth coming to.
Amazing experience, dying to go back.
I visited in late December of 2019 and thought the place was very cute. Reasonably priced, and the cats were all very playful and happy. I was looking to adopt, picked out a kitten from their Instagram, and went home with him the same day! He is a blessing and I wouldn’t change anything about my experience!!
Love this place. ☺️
A great place for coffee and cat lovers! Theyve had lots of kittens the past three times Ive gone. Due to covid-19 you currently are required to rent the cat room out for an hour. I personally enjoy it more. 6 people can go at a time so split the cost between a few friends and try the cookies and cream frozen coffee while petting some adorable cats!
Its a cafe, its a cat shelter, its Constellation Cat Cafe! Im not sure how the concept works when theres not a pandemic. However, I went there with my wife to interact with cats and kittens that were available for adoption. We paid a fee for the privilege. I think it was like $25 for 30 minutes. Dont quote me on that. It goes cat expenses. You can also get a coffee or a tea and for extra and play with kitties, which are adorable and may or may not be available for adoption. It depends on several factors. I caution you against allowing your significant other from finding out about this place. My text messages have been bombed with updates every time they get new kittens in. (sigh) Yes my wife has kitten fever and the only known cure is the adoption of new kittens, yes I said kittens.
This is a really cute place! I had hoped to visit the kitty area but they were booked up when I arrived - they highly suggest reserving a spot online before coming in. I did get an earl grey tea that was yummy (loose leaf!) and the seating area in the cafe itself is a comfy spot for reading. I will definitely be back again with a reservation to see the kitties!
Dont expect to just play with the kitties if youre weak for cats too. Ended up adopting 2 cats when I had the intention of only getting 1 but I dont regret my decision at all. Also the coffee was amazing!
They need a monthly subscription package 💕
Love it so much!
Food is good and reasonably priced... but $8 per person to pet some cats?? Nah. Not even a cheaper price for kids or our 3 month old?! They claim to be non-profit, but that is a LOT of money. There’s absolutely no way someone isn’t profiting... I’m not paying $40 to spend that time when we could just as easily visit the shelter for FREE.
Very cute, great cats!
I loved my visit here! If you go during a quieter time, it’s a great place to get some work done with periodic cat breaks :). I had a mocha which tasted great. The cats were happy, well cared for, and playful. I can’t wait to go back!
This place is pure bliss! You can come for coffee and watch the cats through windows into the cat room, or you can pay a little extra to hang out in a room full of playful cats and kittens. All of the cats are rescue cats waiting to be adopted! The cats are certainly a great reason to go, but the coffee and snacks are actually really fine quality too! Best matcha latte I’ve ever had! Oh, and there is super adorable cat themed merchandise available too for gifting or to treat yourself. Highly recommended!
We love coming to Constellation Cat Cafe!! Our family has a punch card and coming in for a visit never gets old for my kids. The baristas are awesome, the coffee drinks are delicious, and there are new cuddly kitties every time we come in. Some friends and I also just tried out the Harry Potter Trivia while our kids had dance practice next door and had such a good time.
Everybody was super friendly, the drinks are fantastic, and the cats obviously are adorable.
Call before you go.
Went for the first time today. The wait was a bit long when we got there. We had reservations too. The cat area was crowded with kids running around. I felt awful for the kittens. There was one child practically torturing the poor things. There was one kitten so traumatized it was hiding the whole time.Once the kids left we could actually play with some of the kittens. On the whole the cat room needs more monitoring. It needs more than a quick be nice to the kitties before people walk in. And for heavens sake, parents teach your kids about handling animals. They are not stuffed toys. Not sure if Ill be back. I was anxiety stricken by the whole experience.Coffee was good though and for good price.
I love that they make chia latte with an actual tea bag! Very clean. Nice decor. So open with observation windows lining the wall that separates the cafe from the cat room. Lots of seating options in the cat room. What a great idea!
I could not be more obsessed with this place! I got a delicious tea latte (I love that they source locally!), bought an adorable pair of cat socks, and went into the cat room for just a minute. I was there over an hour. The volunteers were super friendly and knowledgeable about all the cats. There were so many kittens running around and offering up snuggles! I plan on working from here regularly. I highly recommend it!!Edit: The cafe side is temporarily closed but wow, there was been 14 kitties in the cat room every time Ive gone lately! And the merch for sale is so cute and most of it is Michigan-made! This place is the cheap therapy that we all need right now.
Cats and coffee, whats not to love?
My favorite place to be! Friendly staff and Volunteers, great atmosphere and just a relaxing place to be. And so many opportunities to pet adorable cats and kittens that you can even adopt. Even if youre not a cat person or allergic you can still sit in the Café and look at these adorable creatures through the glass.
I went twice in October. I enjoyed the cat room. I went in the afternoon with my partner and there was either just us or one or two people there with us. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The cats snuggly and adorable! Looking forward to going back some day!
Great specialty drinks and cute kitties! I love the events they host too. A wonderful edition to Greater Lansing that you can feel good about supporting.
We took our 2 year old son here on a chilly rainy day. It was great! Mom and Dad got some coffee to warm up and our son had a blast playing with the kittens. We will absolutely be back.
Picture a coffee shop/retail outlet for cat-related items with a glassed-off section where patrons can enter for an additional fee to play with adoptable kittens/cats and youve got the gist of the Constellation Cat Cafe. But its so much more! They offer game nights, yoga, and other events and there are sections where the cats can go when theyve had enough of our two-legged ways. This place is well thought out and doing a great job. I heard they met their yearly adoption goal after just three months, too!
Super yummy drinks, and the cutest kitties! Very clean, great items for sale, and helpful staff!
Had a lot of fun! The service was really good and the cats were adorable and super friendly!❤️
Very good place to go. Good drinks and we even brought a kitty home.
Amazing. Love the cats there and the people who work there are really nice. Definitely would go back
Wow love this place, please check it out. The lavender latte is award winning legendary
Awesome staff, good drinks plus fun kitties!! The staff was great and its for a great cause. Kitties can be adopted if you fall in love too!
Prices were in my opinion way to high & overall a just really uncomfortable experience
Great environment and such a good cause.
Amazing place to go. Great drinks. Cute cats. Lots of fun events and activities
Love this place! Great drinks, excellent staff, wonderful kitties! Minimalist vibe helps keeps it simple and unintrusive. Love the work they are doing!
This place has got the cutest kittes on the planet hands down. Most of them are super cuddly and love to play with the little toys that the cafe has in the kitty room.
This place is amazing 😻 The setup is beautiful, the cats are super sweet and very well taken care of. When we volunteer, everyone is so kind and understanding and always make us feel like were welcome 😻 This cafe is doing great things and the best is yet to come😻😻😻
Fell in love with all the cats!!!🐈 However the cat I chose to adopt manage to get an eye infection before I picked her up. They said it was nothing and would clear up in a few days. One person told me that if it seemed to be getting worse call back and they could set me up with one of their vets to take care of any severe infections ( since it happened while still in their care). I called a few days later to update them about the issue and the manager pretty much said its your problem. I will keep my new family addition but, will no longer be adopting from them again. Not a great experience.
Love this place and what they do here!
Was lots of fun and the coffee is delicious!
I want a cat but have a new puppy so.
Great place, lots of fun playing with the cats. My smoothie was excellent too!
I cried over the cat jack
I love this place. Its clean and playing with the cats was so much fun.
While my visit was a bust (every cat was sleeping)!, I love what the Cafe is doing for the kitties ♥️
Everyone was nice, and the cats were super friendly. I’d love to give it 5 starts but we never were given our drinks..
I liked the cat room and customer service but my hot chocolate was bearly warm and had no taste
Cats were awesome but the constant yelling and screaming and running around coming and going of kids needs to change. Very disruptive to the experience and not a place for kids with lack of parenting.
How awesome, you can play with and make Cat friends, and if one chooses you, your new friend will adopt you
