I love the tortillas and salsa from there. Unfortunately I dont feel safe there. The store allows too many customers without a mask. I hope the manager) owner can see this post and begin to implement the mask mandate

This place has got it going on! I discovered it a few months ago; it lives up to its name: The Superior [Market]. You can find basic kitchen essentials and primarily Mexican ingredients and snacks. However, the supermarket earns its reputation for its marinated raw meats, preprepared food, fresh produce, bakery and the restaurant. I regularly come for their seasoned Al Pastor. Los tacos que cocino me quedan muy sabrosos! 🤤 I have yet to actually enjoy a meal here, but I look forward to doing so because their dinning room is always populated. 😊 When you walk in, to the left, there’s a desk. I have a feeling they offer international communication services. Guess it’s a matter of approaching and asking.

The taste of this dish is terrible 😣 I’m really disappointed I paid 13 dollars although I don’t care about the price, it just wasn’t worth it

Must try things:Most bakery items.Butcher shop: Home made chorizo, both beef and pork are amazing, fresh chicken - stays longer in the fridge than any chicken in town.Rotisserie chicken with beans and rice, sold right at the butcher shop.Restaurant: tamales, the mole, green sauce, red sauce, sweet - all of them. Best in town. Fresh in the mornings.

Generally higher prices but a lot bigger selection for Hispanic foods. Great bakery/restaurant too.

Such a great variety of Latin products and the tacos and fresh bread are great.

When I picked this place I didnt realize it was a grocery store with a kitchen in the back and I admit I was skeptical at first. You have to wind your way through some isles and a bakery area and then the room opens up. Its full of tables and chairs that have seen better days. On the wall which houses the ordering counter and a window to the kitchen, you will find a smattering of laminated papers touting the daily specials. There is also a screen that cycles through the menu and pictures of various items. The lady working the counter spoke no English and couldnt figure our request for diet coke. After some vigorous gesticulations we managed to get everything sorted. She told us our number and we set down. After about 10 minutes our food came out. The meat was delicious and flavorful. The guac was awesome. The rice and beans were okay. My friend got a burrito the size of a babys arm. This was also pretty good, but she said she will try something more exciting next time. TL;DR you should try do the thing.

My favorite Hispanic supermarket in Durham. My go-to for fresh corn tortillas. Tostadas, ceviche, shrimp, mangos, jalapenos, limes, cilantro, Roma tomatoes and much more. They even have a decent restaurant and bakery.

They carry a good assortment of breads which are all delicious

Fresh fruits and vegetables in stock. Well Informed money staff who know and understands transactions when sending money to Mexico. The meat section has great cuts and selections of items. Hands down the BEST places to get chorizo, its price is great for the flavor and amount! Each time I go there, they keep improving the store by building new sections or adding new items to their restaurants menu. Cakes are great looking and the bread is nice. Amazing array of Mexican and latino candy too.

There are a lot of places where both the store and restaurant would be considered the best for Mexican food. But thats a high mark to achieve in Durham with all the great places to get great authentic Mexican food. Nevertheless is definitely worth stopping in and getting a bite to eat if youre in the area.

Has pretty much anything you need to make delicious Mexican or other central and South American dishes. You can get fresh corn tortillas by weight and they have a huge butcher though I have no idea I’d the meat is local or humanely raised. The little restaurant in the back is fine but there are much better places close by.

They have a restaurant inside, so you can eat then shop. Regarding the store itself, I go personally for the warm fresh made corn tortillas, they have the best around. They also have a great selection of fresh cut meat.

Great food, fast service. Be prepared to wait in line at peak times but it moves quick. The tamales are my favorite but sometimes they run out so get there early.

For those able to appreciate authentic Mexican food, this IS your place! It is fantastic, especially for the beef burritos. I have been in the US for more than 10 years and visited countless Mexican food places in four different states. This is one of my top two (the other one is in South Carolina, is called Super Taco, in Clemson). The food quality and freshness of the beef burritos have no rival. This is as good as it gets!

We visited La Superior to eat lunch for a school activity. The food there was authentic Mexican food and it was very good. There was a little confusion between the 2 registers that delayed us getting our food, but the staff still handled it pretty well. Overall, this restaurant is great and I would recommend eating there

Had the opportunity to try a really good variety of cheese, place if very comfortable and easy to find, they offer Mexican food inside as well as a supermarket. Recommend the pastry, have a large variety of bread and absolutely loved donuts from this place.Is a must visit place!

Some of the best Latin fast food in Durham! I go here all the time to eat! Great service and friendly workers! PLUS they also have a bakery that makes pastries AND tortillas daily, a meat shop, deli shop and grocery all in one! Awesome store!

Great authentic Mexican food in Durham. The Lamb tacos are my favorite but everything else Ive tried has been great too. I usually visit at least once a week. They also have a great meat market, bakery, and grocery selection. It helps to know a little Spanish when ordering and shopping, this is the real deal. That being said Ive never felt unwelcome and everyone is very nice and helpful.

Reasonably well organized. Helpful personnel. I go there for some particular items but my wife claims prices are good as well, particularly in the produce department.

In my opinion, this is the best place in Durham to get authentic Mexican food. Its not the cheapest tacos (for that I go to El patron), but the price is very reasonable (few dollars) and the taste is unmatched. The seven seas soup is also fantastic

The very sweet lady at the register wouldnt let me buy mangos because they were too ripe. She took the time to pick out 4 perfect pieces. I appreciate that level of customer service. With Kroger closing, you should give this store a chance! They are frankly owned and been in business 20 years.

Its a really great place to shop for fresh groceries or buy fresh bread or even buy food to eat that is great! They give you a device that vibrates to let you know when your food is ready because not everyone knows spanish or english their new system they got going on is great!.

La Superior most probably have the best tortillas in the NC state!! The have everything and more when it comes to Mexican products!!

I bought ground beef and it seems like they put some kind of coloring to the meat. Once fried it stayed very red and after cooling down it remained very vivid red almost like chorizo. I will not be buying meat from this store again.

My friend and I go to the restaurant in the back for lunch and its always great. Clean fast and friendly. Food is amazing

I LOOOOOOVE LA SUPERIOR!! The first time I ever went was the best! It really feels like you are in Mexico grocery shopping. They have imported foods from Mexico and anything yoh need to make a traditional mexican dish. Their butchers are helpful and the meat is fresh. They also have marinated meat to make tacos!! They also have a a bakery and deli with lots of different mexican cheeses! Definitely will go back here to get shopping done. The produce also is fresh! Very good prices!

DONT EVER EVER COME TO THIS RACIST LATINO/HISPANIC ONLY MARKET!This place absolutely made me never ever want to come back!I ordered food and spend well over $60-$70 per visit. The daytime cook didn’t get my order right and I asked if it could be fixed. I was insulted because he didn’t want to simply replace the pork he placed on my order with the steak that I ordered and was in my receipt. He then goes on to insult me and asks “do I work for free?” because he had to throw away the order that HE HIMSELF MADE WRONG!If you are not Latino or Hispanic you will be looked down on at this place! This place is very much racist towards others ESPECIALLY BLACK PEOPLE!THIS IS LATINO JIM CROW IN THIS BUILDING!DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

Best Mexican grocery store/Bakery/Restaurant with fresh taco bar in the Triangle.

This is not Tex Mex. There is a good chance that you might feel out of place in this restaurant if you do not speak Spanish. You will be amazed at the portion sizes for the money and the taste. For me this place is a bit of a hike and I still think it is worth it.

If you like Mexican food this place is the right place to go to they have a variety. Thank for your service I enjoy my purchase time.

I would have given this place 4 or 5 stars except...they have roach problem. If the staff taking out trash inside the restaurant need to do a zapatiado everytime doesnt deter you, go ahead. I also saw one in the dry food bins near the deli.

The store is excellent if youre looking for Mexican products (from soap to soda). But you can find these types of things at other ethnic stores. The meat and the in-house food (restaurant), however, is another story. This is a one of a kind place. La Superior is where youll find the most authentic, most delicious Mexican food in town--and at a reasonable price. The tortas are some of the best Ive ever had, and their tacos are delicious. The more sophisticated cuisine is also tops. Absolutely my favorite Mexican food in all of RDU.

La Superior is awesome! Its a Mexican grocery store, butcher shop, bakery and restaurant. The grocery store is well stocked with all your Mexican food needs along with cookware. The bakery is simply amazing with tons of bread, tortillas, doughnuts, cakes and pastries. But the pièce-de-résistance of this store is their restaurant. The food there is supremely delicious. One of the best places for delicious tacos, tortas, gorditas and tostadas. I havent purchased anything from the butcher section yet but I know that in one corner there they have fresh red and green salsas.

Im in love with this place. There should be a place like this in every town or city it is a huge Mexican supermarket with an outstanding restaurant inside. Not many places you can go get your grocery shopping done and grab a bite to eat and by the way the food will blow your mind. I only got a couple of steak tacos and a horchata and it was some of the best food Ive ever had anywhere. La Superior es el mejor
