I had a truly fantastic experience using the Rock Shop for all our needs to make some changes to the landscape. Our goal was drying out a swampy yard. We rented the tractor with backhoe- prompt delivery at the best price in town. We needed deliveries of 3 different sized rock plus a topsoil blend to cap it off. Great communication with Emily and Melissa at the shop and then deliveries by the best driver in town Jimmy! If I had to start all over again the only thing I would change was my wasted prep time looking around at the delivery and rental options- I’d just come straight to the Rock Shop.

I got 2.5 yards of the 40 compost with the 32 dollar tiller. They delivered promptly. There was an issue with the tiller so they upgraded me to the 100 dollar tiller for free. Nick helped me through using the larger tiller and came by to make sure I was able to handle such a huge tiller myself.What good prices for compost! What above and beyond customer service. Those on the phone are so patient and helpful. The deliver crew went above and beyond.This company not only did their job perfectly but went out of their way to make sure everything worked out for me. 15/10 experience.I felt I had to write this review with how satisfied I was with this service. If I had gotten the dirt and tools from Lowe’s it would have costed me two to times more just on compost.

I thought I could pick up a few rocks for painting. They specialize in landscaping and tend to sell in much larger quantities than I was interested in, but the owner (?) was kind enough to let me rummage around in their spares and extras. No pressure and it was an entertaining few minutes, should I ever need to paint by the ton, Ill know where to go! I was able to find a few fun pieces, so crafters should stop in if theyre in the area.

Love getting my gardening stuff from the rock shop - always nice and pleasant, and they have the best prices!

We first used The Rock Shop last year when we got some Certified Compost from them to use in our yard to improve the soil. The results have been fantastic. The staff is quick, friendly and provide great products.

Never Again. Went to pickup a couple of yards of leaf compost which they advertised on their website. Waited 30 minutes to get into the lot as a delivery truck blocked the entrance. Then I found out they no longer sell the aged leaf compost. Great. So I bought the certified compost which was a mistake as I had to wait another 30 minutes to get loaded. This used to be a good place. Ive made my last purchase from them.

Placed an order to have gravel delivered. Prices were fair, even a little cheaper compared to others. Delivery was fast and on time. All the staff Ive talked to so far were friendly and helpful with all my questions about installing a drainage system. Ill order from them again easily. From my understanding they can put about 5cu/yd or less on the smaller truck in case you are worried about driveway size. But of course double check when ordering.

Ordered top soil from the Rock Shop and the quality of soil was very high and the delivery was on time. My delivery time was 10-12 and the driver called me at 9:30 to let me know he was loading the truck and he arrives at 10:00. This was excellent service - thanks!

Went beyond normal business practice to be helpful. Our Cohousing community has used the Rock Shop for our garden path for years and have enjoyed excellent service.

This is a very down to earth, sincere place. I called re: sand and was told I could buy a 5 gallon bucket of it for $2. I got there and, with recent rain, the self-serve sand was inaccessible due to high water. An employee offered to get me some with a front end loader--lots of jockeying around in the mud and eventually a big scoop of sand...all of that effort for a $2 bucket of sand. Cant get better customer service than that!

My favorite place in the entire triangle for my landscaping needs. The staff is always so friendly. The owner (I think his name is Mark) is just a good old boy. They make you feel like family. Super convenient. The two women that work there are also fantastic. Businesses like this are few and far between these days.

The rockshop does not scrimp! If you want good product in generous qty. then I recommend them. They also split orders up into 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 yards to match what you need. Most aggregate suppliers DO NOT! This is particularly helpful for homeowners who only need small qty.

Very friendly and helpful, good selection of soil, mulch and gravel. I have had stuff delivered, but typically go in my own truck to grab a load for a household project.

I really like a place nearby that has good selection, excellent prices and carefully dumps into my pick-up.And when I need bigger volume, they deliver.Good, CERTIFIED compost. Ask for the cert sheet.

Ive made several purchases of gravel, mulch, and topsoil from The Rock Shop over the last few years, and Im a very happy customer. The quality of their products (especially topsoil) is unsurpassed here locally and their prices are fair. I usually pick up materials from them, and theyre quick, efficient, and careful in loading my truck. I recently had to alter an order, and Melody was very understanding and accommodating. Yesterday, they delivered to my home for the first time. Gene, their delivery guy was really a delight to work with! He was incredibly friendly and even provided an informal estimate of how much gravel wed need to cover our driveway. Were glad to have found this excellent supplier for all of our future gravel, mulch, and soil needs.

Everyone was courteous and helpful. Even though it is the busy season the owner took the time to answer my questions. They considered my schedule when arranging the delivery of soil and mulch. The gentleman who made the delivery introduced himself and left the items where I requested. I will use them again for my landscaping needs.

Quick service and fair prices on mulch and compost. Was able to drive in, pay, and load up my truck with a yard of mulch in about 5 minutes on a Saturday. They deliver too. The quote I got was $55 for 3 yards of mulch. Not sure how that compares to other businesses, but seemed a bit steep for $70 worth of mulch. Ill definitely be back again.

After my 2nd very good experience with ordering 3X-Shredded Hardwood Mulch, Id like to salute TRS. Both times theyve helpfully & graciously taken my phone order, and arranged convenient & efficient deliveries. Even the drivers have been very helpful-- in strategically dropping my loads (including splitting the last one with a nearby neighbor). Just as important, their mulch-product is top quality ... and their price hasnt changed in 2 years.

The rock shop is convenient and always has exceptional service and excellent product. I would recommend them to anyone in the Durham area needing mulch, rock or any hard scape material. I have to call the rock shop frequently to replenish the rock on my driveway and they always respond promptly and spread the rock down perfectly.

Great place for bulk mulch and compost - I saved over 50% compared to buying in the bag from the big-box store. Generous bucketloads right into the bed of your truck - in and out in under 3 minutes. Will be returning year after year.

Good products, however very bad customer service handed down by the woman at the counter.When I walked in the woman was on the telephone, which was not a problem. However, I expected at least eye contact and a smile so as to acknowledge my presence. After standing in front of this employee for 10 minutes, I got nothing.I was getting ready to walk out when the telephone conversation finally ended. No friendly greeting, just a what can I do for you? And, after paying for the purchase, I was not thanked for my patronage. Hopefully, this woman is not owner or related to the owner of the establishment.Nonetheless, I will not be back as I take issue with paying for poor and substandard service.

My go to for landscaping mats. Wish i could get a volume discount as a non contractor. Got 14 yards of 78 but no price break. Its cool, they got good variety and i like their dogs as well.

Needed gravel for our driveway so we visited this spot right of Hillsborough Rd, gave us a reasonable quote and our order was delivered on time and staff was friendly and efficient. Lots of gravel and rock options, would recommend for your home and garden needs!!
