We got home and thought we left one of our purchases behind. We called the store and asked about our item. The lady that checked us out remembered us and was able to tell is exactly which bag she had put the item in. She wad very nice about helping us find the item and didnt make us feel bad about it. All staff was really helpful and the store was clean.
It has a very unassuming, bordering on homely, appearance but inside I have frequently been transformed back to my state of child-like wonder. My two little boys love visiting to see what new things they can find. Prices and selection are competitive with any online retailer, so the convenience and fun factors make it a special trip. Their reward program and special events top off the list as far as nice extras.
I show up trying to buy my kid a toy 15 min prior to the time they are closing and the lady locks the doors and says they are closed. The sign on the door says 9:00 and it was only 8:45. Im not mad just kinda disappointed. I understand they are going out of business, but if this is how all the employees are I truly understand. Well i guess next time I will just go to one in Raleigh if I can make it there before they all close down permanently.
Today was my first and final time I ever go to this store my experience was terrible and very unpleasant for both me and my five year old after shopping we experienced the worst thing that has ever happened to us in a public facility we needed to use the restroom as we walked to the restroom we could smell a very unpleasant smell from the aisles I wonder if maybe it was super clean or probably to much bleach come to find out when we stepped into the ladies restroom the smell was coming from there Me and my little boy were in the bathroom for not even a minute when we couldn’t bear the smell anymore and ran out with red faces and tears coming down our eyes and feeling very light headed two employees that were near by asked if we were ok I really needed to use the restroom so they helped me into the men’s restroom After I went to complain to management because by the smell from the bathroom it seemed like me and my son had inhaled toxic fumes from the bleach that seemed to have been mixed with something stronger because the smell was just unbearable we’ll the lady that was manager at the moment first of all didn’t even apologize or acknowledge that I was concerned about our and others well being all I got was a sarcastic reply “well they just cleaned the bathrooms” and that’s all she could say...well it is now 10:30 and my son can’t sleep won’t stop coughing ever since and his eyes are irritated and I can’t smell anything but bleach and I have a gagging sensation... I didn’t get any names but and if I need to run to the emergency room I will return with hospital bills.😡 I wouldn’t even give this a star if I could
Literally the worst service I have had in quite a while. I asked for help from several employees even just for help for a price check for a high dollar item on the top shelf that was not at an available height and waited over 15 minutes with no one coming back to help. After giving up and putting back most of my items except the stuff that was out of stock at other stores I found the employees I asked for a price check talking up front at the desk and did not even apologize for the wait and the made us wait even longer for a manager to approve a couple dollar price match. Even after saying just forget it I’ll pay full price they refused and said just wait for the manager and would not even let me pay full price so I could just pay and leave. If other ToysRUs are this why I know why the store is going belly up.
Pros: They have a great selection of toys and a lot of time you can find great items marked down.Cons: staffing is horrible around the Holidays, the store looks old and run down, employees act like they hate their life and they’re very disorganized. Items are usually cheaper at Walmart or target unless you get a deal. Customer service is poor at best.
Since the store is closing, the items I came for were gone. There is still a huge selection of toys and baby items. Worth the trip.
The people who work here are always exceptionally nice and helpful. This location was easier to navigate during the holiday season than the Cary location.
Its not often that I write a bad review but I must say for a store that was not busy I received less than average customer service. in my experience I purchase an item online to pick up at the store. When I got there it took approximately 30 minutes to 45 minutes to receive my merchandise. Maybe it was a bad day but I thought the customer service could have been much better.
Id read reviews of people saying this is such a terrible place, so I was a bit wary heading over, but they were the only place I could find in/near Durham that sold Wiffle ball sets. The store looks old and outdated on the outside, but that was the worst part. Inside, it was well-kept. They had good selection. Customer service was great for me. I had four different employees ask me if I needed any help and the woman at the check out was quite courteous.
Hopefully corporate will change the stigma, because toys r us is still a great place to get hard to find and new toys. Sure, nobody asked me if I needed help, but I was able to find the Lego isle just fine and find that sweet new Star wars Lego. The plus, I dont have to wait for shipping.
We love Toys R Us. The sales associate was a real pleasure and made our shopping experience wondering!
What can I say? The kids love it. The claw machine is 2 tries for a buck.
Tried to buy a bike for a girl in need... no flexibility in pricing... unwilling to talk to management on my behalf. All I needed was the tire/rim. Helpful and polite but no flexibility... arrggg.
My favorite place to buy toys for the last 30 years!
Always nice and clean with friendly staff. I just wish they carried the older version of board games, they werent so cheap looking like board games today.
Very rarely stocked. Little to no knowledge from the employees. Same items likely on shelves for months at a time.
I love the amazing staff and all their awesome toys 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Sad to see this place close good memories
I bought kitchen set for my daughter. She loved it.
They have a lot of nice toys.
Very well stocked with good prices.
This location is closing soon and theyre advertising 30% of the entire store. Turns out that most of the store is only 10% of and there are a lot of sections that are excluded entirely. Dont go here expecting a deal.
My first point check when I plan to buy toys ..would be gud if more offers and deals..big place and large collection of toys..
Great store sad to see it go
No effort to help customers..items in dissaray..wont return
Felt a little small but good selection
Really detest that this is the only toy store in the world apparently. Smh.
Awesome sales associate and nice variety of toys
Most horrible exoerience i have ever had will never go back ever again
This is the Toys R Us time forgot. The facade looks like the early 80s. Inside its pretty normal though.
Loved it, great selections and prices.
Okay-ish, with long lines due to few open registers
They have every kind of toy Ive ever seen. If you walk in with a child, expect to back out dragging a child.
The bathroom is so nasty they never have the toy in store No store manager
Hoped this place would never come to a end but for me one of the best places!
It was closing when I went so it was very busy
Toys R Us in Cary is cleaner & organized better
My kids love it, I love it!!!
This store serves its purpose. Staff was friendly. The parking lot is terribly lit, feels like its not in a good neighborhood, which it is.
Helpful and speedy service
Theyre usually expensive
You will be missed
Good shopping experience!!!
Rest in peace
Clean and organize! :)
Going out of business
