I heard about a popsicle store in Durham and wanted to make sure we paid a visit, of course. Didn’t disappoint! Lots of great popsicle flavors and ice creams, too. Also neat: an attached tiny grocery store selling all kinds of food products. We had such a good time we went on successive nights! Has a nice outdoor space.

Ice cream was delicious, loved the unique options and even vegan options. The store that is attached next door was amazing with a bunch of locally made products. Definitely will be back!! Had a coupon for a free scoop from a friend, so it was our first time. Our daughter loved it.

On Fridays, you can have an ice cream sandwich with any ice cream, sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies. Tried one tonight and it was very good. The cookies were soft, do easy to bite into. But I think I just ate 3000 calories. I see a hike in my best future to burn it off.

A Durham staple. You will not find a better cold treat on a hot day. Lots of outdoor picnic tables with shade. The lemon curd and root beer float flavors are among my favorite, but theyre all good!

The most AMAZING CREAMY DELICIOUS vegan ice cream!!!!! We had the apple pie and white chocolate peppermint and they were both incredible! Hands down the best ice cream we’ve had!! The vibe is also amazing and and a super cute hang out spot!

I went in thinking this was an ice cream shop. It did have ice cream, but their specialty was lollipops. I did not try one, but they did have vietnamese coffee ice cream. Never had it. Mixed it with some mint chocolate chip. That hit the spot. Ice cream was good. No complaints.

Popsicles have always been awesome, but their homemade ice cream is fantastic with so many changing flavors e.g. Tea & Biscuits was so good! I hope it comes back soon! also roasted strawberry!

Store is a converted house with nice backyard, lots of picnic tables with sunshades/umbrellas that are socially distanced for enjoying frozen treats leisurely. Folks with specific dietary needs will be happy with the clear notes on the big menu. LocoPops has more options / flavors. I had the lemon creme popsicle ($3), which was tasty! Nice place to visit occasionally on a hot day.

There are a lot of great things about locopops, but they all pale in importance to the best thing: DELICIOUS ice cream and popsicles. Fun flavors that always deliver. You should absolutely put this in your regular rotation of treat places. (And yes, relaxed ambiance, outdoor seating, and the sundries store are great, too).

Denied cup free water of on 91* degree day. Ive been a fan of Locopops for many years. I’ve eaten here dozens of times. Shocked today that after purchasing ice cream pops for me and my son, I was denied a free cup of water. I wouldn’t normal ask for a free cup but one was given to a White patron. I hope this was an error but it’s clear why I don’t see many people of color visiting this establishment. It’s too bad but typical.

The flavors here are great! I really love coming here for a treat whenever I can. Some of their rotating flavors for pops and ice cream really just cant be duplicated by anyone else. Their core flavors are great, too. You literally cant go wrong picking anything on the menu whether youre feeling tame or wild that day!PS - Please being back the peanut butter chocolate pop! I loved it!

LocoPops posted obnoxious signs ALL OVER about parking and picnics, etc what you SHOUL NOT do on their territory. May be we should NOT buy their icecream either???!!! Feel sick seeing those signs, it runs the whole experience of having fun and enjoyment. Shane

I was on a date with my gf who is a student at Duke and people inside were talking about Duke as if it was the worst part of Durham. As someone who has been here for a few years and seen the positive influences of the blue devils I was dismayed. I mean I guess drugs and poverty don’t really compare to the toxic affects of a largely benevolent institution. No one seemed to care how it might feel to the other young students there.

Bought the Mexican chocolate popsicle, really just so I could use their bathroom. This is the best fudgesicle I’ve had to date. Well done Locopops. Well done.

This is a local Durham favorite for good reasons! Ive been going to this paletas palace for many years-now in much larger converted home to storefront than original location. You have original fruit flavors and cream based like Mexican chocolate and strawberries and cream. They now offer ice cream in the cup full. Order on one side then pick up on other.

Nice local ice cream establishment with many different flavors. Large area for kids to play and patrons to sit. Not cheap, but tasty ice cream pops.

I enjoyed the seasonal butter pecan flavor best. More pecans would have been great but the quality of the ice cream really shined thorough. You could taste the fresh ingredients and I detected a hint of almond flavor. The other flavor I tried was sea salt caramel. It was good as well. My friend allowed me to sample their vegan chocolate brownie (I almost chose that seasonal flavor) and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely patron again. I am so glad we decided to go. I see why the line is usually out the door. Oh, I almost forgot, I love the way they support the local kids hunger program as well. That gesture adds another reason why LocoPops gained another customer!

Great desserts; a Durham must! They have seasonal flavors and dairy free and vegan options. Currently their safety precautions are great and they even provide masks for use in the shop in case you forget yours. Outdoor seating is available too!

We love LocoPops and seriously go once a week, if not more! They have a ton of great regular flavors for pops and scoops, as well as some unforgettable guest star flavors. Not only that, the staff are always warm and attentive and their rewards program is awesome. Forever one of our favorite local businesses!

This place has some of the BEST ice cream I’ve ever had. They’ve taken yummy homemade tasting churned ice cream and put it into perfect popsicles. The Mexican chocolate is my all time fave but we also love the lemon curd. The cookies and cream pop is similar to the Hershey’s cookies n cream chocolate bar— in short it is all amazing. You won’t be disappointed. Your dogs can also enjoy a pop with you here!! There’s lovely outdoor seating and social distancing rules in place to keep you safe. I’ve only recently discovered it but I imagine that when there’s not a pandemic that it’s also a super fun spot to hang! Friendly staff. This is where the locals go, regularly.

My treat for the week is 1 scoop of Turtles ice cream and 1 scoop of Mint.

Locopops is one of my favorite year round treats. They always have a variety of unique guest flavors, and the tried and true standbys that I love. The porch is a great place to kick back and hide from the summer sun. They’ve also adapted to the pandemic super well and the process is seamless and safe!

Workers were young and snobby instead of welcoming customers with friendly attitudes. Got the ice cream sandwich and it was so hard that it was barely edible and wife got the green tea latte ice cream which only tasted like vanilla. The one star is only for the pop. The other items should really be taken off because they were so horrible and not worth the price at all. Very disappointed to have spend as much as I did there plus tip.

The pops have such wonderful flavors. Passion fruit Margarita and Lemon Curd are my favorites, but you simply cant go wrong when choosing. The building has the perfect atmosphere. Even better, the new porch with the wheelchair accessible ramp is fantastic!

All around great. The menu board clearly lists common allergens, the flavors range from tame to wacky, and its got a charming atmosphere. I got the peanut butter & jelly ice cream and was NOT disappointed.

As someone who lives in the neighborhood I’ve really enjoyed some of my experiences around locopops but I’ve found the owner to be incredibly rude. I won’t be coming back.

This is the cutest ice cream shop I’ve seen. It’s so homey & laid back. The ice cream and popsicles are really good. I can’t wait to try to pies next time!. A great place to take toddlers during the weekdays too when everyone is at school/work, not too busy and there are other toddlers to play with and eat ice cream with. My son had a blast.

One of Durham’s local gems! Awesome ice cream pops in a variety of flavors - cookies and cream all day - but everything we’ve tried is good. Favorite thing about this place, other than ice cream on a stick, is that it’s a renovated house with rooms to chill out in during hot summer days. They have children’s books, toys and even a piano to keep the kiddos entertained. Our boys love it, always feels like a special visit.

The plum pop was so tasty and of course the pup pops are always a big hit with my furbabies.

Ive enjoyed their tasty frozen pops for years and it was so much fun to hire them to cater our June 2019 wedding! It was perfect for our outdoor reception- our guests loved their little cart, selecting their unique flavors, and of course the yummy pops on a warm NC summer afternoon! It was fun to get to select as many flavors as we wanted to provide variety. Prices are fair and the product cant be beat.

Being able to visit Locopops is one of the best things about living in Durham. They hand craft a rotating menu of delicious popsicles and ice creams in all sorts of wonderful flavors. I’ve never tried something and not been impressed and completely satisfied. You can find their products in freezers around town, but for the most fun, stop by the shop and enjoy your treat on the big front porch!

The new location is lovely! Great place to bring your family or group. The pops have fresh ingredients and its perfect for a hot day - especially since they blast the A/C in the building. Thanks, guys!

LocoPops is awesome my kids love it, we love it so glad to have something like this close to home. Everything taste so fresh and the chill atmosphere is awesome, employees are nice too!

If I could give Locopops 10 stars out of 5 I would. Their recipes are very unique AND Ive never had one that I didnt like! Its cool how they have a set of pops that will always be available but then constantly rotate in guest stars to spice things up. Its DEFINITELY worth a quick stop if youre driving by! Or even worth the detour as well :)

Tried their ice cream out for the first time yesterday. I got the leftover pie and chocolate hazlenut flavours and both were super yummy. My husband got the vietnemese coffee flavour and that was very good too for those who like coffee. Lot of fun flavours available to explore. Hope to visit again soon to try out their popsicles!

Love that they can accommodate the wide variety of allergies my kids have. However- we recently had a HORRIBLENESS experience while sitting at the tables outside the Durham location. Some drunk man from the neighborhood plops down at our table and begins rambling aggressively towards me and my family. My kids were totally freaked out and the staff did nothing. Dont know if this is a regular occurrence, but it seems to be located in a sketchy area.

Locopops has always been a great dessert spot, and its only gotten better with the addition of new menu items like ice cream, milkshakes, cookies, and handmade ice cream sandwiches. Prices are very reasonable, and the quality is outstanding. The atmosphere is great, and its enjoyable to sit inside or outside (though there arent tables or chairs outside - youll have to stand or sit on the edge of the porch). You cant go wrong here.

Locopops on Hillsborough in Durham does have decent enough ice creams and pops. However, they dont even put up a facade about being handicapped accessable. The parking requires a long walk around the building and up a steep driveway. There is no ramp and not even handholds for the steps. Ill go somewhere else when I want a cold treat.

Is there anything better than Locopops?! So great to have a pop or icecream and sit on their porch or listen to the folk music lessons (if you’re lucky!). Love this place.
