We stopped by for lunch and the menu had a nice selection of lighter fare. We ordered sandwiches with side salads. They both came out quickly and were warm and delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful although they seemed busy. We will have to come back another time to try the patisseries.

The sweets and coffee I had were great. Bathroom was clean and spacious. It had fun decor and who wouldnt love a good dog poster? I can say only good things. Would pee here again.

WHY HAVE I NOT VISITED THIS PLACE SOONER?! As a total bakery fiend, Dulce Cafe has the most exquisite selection of baked goods with amazing presentation. We arrived in the afternoon after morning rush, so naturally most of the baked goods section was picked clean. But the presentation of what remained was incredible. And very reasonable prices too. The decor was exquisite and though I planned on getting gelato, when I saw the baked goods section I fell in love. We ended up getting a BLAT and Meatloaf sandwich with chips, and for dessert we had a Paris Brest, Passionfruit & Caramel Apple Macarons, and a Fraiser Cake.Oh. My. God! The presentation was beautiful, I snapped countless pics. The curried tomato-onion relish for the meatloaf sandwich was genius, as an Asian I love curry and it was just the right amount of flavor. The Paris Brest had the most wonderful aroma and it had some delicious jam inside too! The passionfruit macarons were tart and sweet just like a pasisonfruit, and very refreshing. I dont like apples, so my boyfriend enjoyed his caramel apple macaron. And the Fraiser Cake! Anyone who knows me knows I generally HATE cake. I think its dry, flavorless, and there are way better baked goods options out there.Dulce Cafe proved me wrong. The Fraiser Cake was INCREDIBLE-- moist, flavorful, just the right amount of sweet balanced with the chocolate decor and tart berries. The cream was smooth and amazing. This was the perfect splurge to get myself through the college application season.Dulce Cafe, I will be visiting again once I am done with college apps!

Came here for to pick up some small pastries and cakes for a small event. Everyone enjoyed and asked where it’s from. The employees went above and beyond with their friendly service as I was a first time customer. Would definitely recommend and come again!

This place is INCREDIBLE. Look at the desserts, tarts and cakes in my pics. For me, it was the blueberry and lemon tart. Perfect balance of tart, tangy, & sweet. The crust...omg.Also, delicious chorizo breakfast burrito or vegetarian option egg on ciabatta bread. And delish coffee options!

My pannino was delicious and I inhaled the coconut macaroon. The display of sweets is remarkable, and I look forward to tasting as much as I can! Within reason. Or not.

I decided at the last minute that I wanted a small cake for my birthday. I didnt want to have a huge cake sitting in my kitchen for a week guilting me into eating it and totally blowing my diet. I saw this place mentioned in a foodie group on Facebook. It was the perfect solution. They had several slices of cake and small individual size cakes. Everything in the case looked amazing. It was so hard to choose. I ended up getting an assortment- one Fun Guy, one Black Forest slice, one huge carrot cake slice and one chocolate eclair. Everything was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend Dulce for their rich, yummy and original desserts. I think my favorite was The Fun Guy. The staff was kind and helpful. Covid precautions are being taken. All staff and customers wore masks. Plenty of close parking. I think the prices were reasonable for the high quality and good portion sizes. They also sell chocolates and other food which Ive heard is excellent but Ive yet to try anything else. Ill definitely be going back.

The most tasty and interesting bakery in the triangle. I dont personally like their coffee drinks as much as other cafes, but I believe that is really preference and not quality. Their drinks are high quality and well made.Their food is as good as their desserts. The French toast is better than most fancy dine in breakfast places.This shop was a treasure during high covid lockdown, and now that we can dine in I look forward to their outdoor seating.The staff here is amazing and will learn your name if you swing by enough. The food and pastry quality is consistently very high. Ive come here literally once a week for the last year and Ive never gotten a bad treat.

Really fun and interesting dessert cafe. Got Le Poire, Fraisier cake, and a piece of their famous mushroom-looking cake. Everything wasnt overly sweet, and I especially liked the Fraisier cake (Strawberry). The bread at the bottom was the only thing that was a little disappointing, but overall, this is a great place to get delicious treats and desserts.

We just tried this place and the cakes were amazing. So soft and rich. Definitely something you could share, but youre going to want to get more than one to try them all. I really enjoyed The Forbidden Fruit just never had an apple cake like that before.

I went in to see if they had eggless or vegan options and the girl behind the counter was very rude and acted like they were too fancy for vegan stuff. Their loss, because I pay good money to any place that offers vegan options. Lost my business.

The “cold brew” is half of a hot coffee mixed with cold water and ice. I feel bad writing a negative review because the staff was very nice, but avoid ordering cold brew unless you want mostly ice water with a small amount of coffee.

Excellent place as the food they serve, is a very comfy place to have a yummy breakfast and enjoy an amazing cup of coffee ☕️ also they have a very friendly staff.Definitely I’ll come back soon.

Overall a great choice with some tasty options =) The people and atmosphere are lovely, and the quality is reliable. I docked one star bc, of the items Ive tried, Ive really just been satisfied with about half of them. The sandwiches have left me wanting, and some of the desserts look more beautiful and tasty than they are in my mouth...but the lentil soup is always GREAT, and I just tried the tiramisu which was absolutely delicious. I especially appreciated the chocolate-covered coffee bean on top!

Dulces desserts are beautiful and delicious. My favorite is the chocolate mousse cake. I like to get one large square serving packed in an elegant take-out box to serve 2 or 3 people at home. Their sandwiches and salads are also very nice. I dont know who the chef is, but he/she is definitely equal to those at the fancy restaurants downtown. Top notch food at a casual place in a convenient suburban location. I only wish they stayed open later than 9 pm.

The case if fulled with a large selection of gorgeous pastries that taste as good as they look. The service is quick and friendly, and the sandwiches and hot items from the kitchen are all wonderful. Try one of the croissant sandwiches for a winning lunch.

Fantastic pastries. I was visiting for a few days and met a friend for breakfast. I admired the pastries and cakes in the case as I purchased my muffin. They had a delightful item named Forbidden Fruit, shaped as a shiny green apple, complete with a tiny stem. I planned to pick up a couple on the way out but by the time we finished they were sold out! I selected a couple of alternative cakes that were fabulous. My advice - they go quick so don’t wait!

BEST DESSERT IN THE AREA! Red velvet is to DIE for. I only come for the desserts but the other food looks delicious as well. Always busy here if that tells you anything!

The food was pretty good and the coffee was decent but not what I expected. Service was lacking, cashier was rude and we got there at about 12:45, waited about 10 minutes in line and for 3 sandwiches and 3 coffees it took 45 minutes for all of us to get our food and each was about 15 minutes apart so we had to eat separately. 15 minutes of this time there was no line and we watched people getting food that were behind us. Finally my friend had to ask what was taking so long and left about 2:15pm. I would suggest coming after 1pm if you’re in a hurry. They gave my friends a free macaron for their wait which was appreciated, although I don’t think we will be back.

I concur with a previous posting about the desserts being quite good however the customer service left me wanting more by the check out lady. At the same token, the server, Maria, was warm, engaging and attentive. I hope at my next visit, both the service and sweets are up to par.

This my new fav crave! Love the delicious mousse cakes which might I add change daily so for a person like that loves to try new things I always can find something different.

We have enjoyed their coffee drinks, pastries, gelato and BLAT sandwich in the past but this time got a breakfast burrito, salmon bagel, and tuna salad. We appreciated the safety precautions, placed our orders, and had it brought out to our car when it was ready. They also have outdoor tables and a few distanced tables inside.

Very disappointing experience. We have loved this place and came almost weekly for the past 2 years. I dont know if there was a change in management, but today they were absurdly unaccommodating and even rude.My husband always orders the French Toast, with 2 eggs on the side (for an added $3), and today they said they will only use their on the side button for sandwiches, so instead we would have to pay $5.49 for 2 scrambled eggs. There was literally an egg-on-the-side button that the cashier wanted to use, and other staff came over and told her not to use it. We tried to politely appeal to the fact that we have ordered this dozens of times in the past (and $5 seems too steep for 2 scrambled eggs on the side), but we were told no exceptions. They were bizarrely and unnecessarily rude, and this despite our being regulars who always get along well with them. We wont be going back anytime soon. So sad, since this place had been one of our favorites.

One of the best chai lattes I’ve ever had. The atmosphere is perfect. Wish the bathroom art left more to the imagination for little ones though.

Coffee is solid but nothing to go crazy over. Food ranks the same with very limited vegetarian and vegan options. I went once by myself and was impressed by how pleasant the staff were. The second I went, I took my husband and while the gentleman at the counter was nice, the woman who delivered our food was rude. She made a very snide remark about how we sat at the wrong table (they said the table to the left and there were two) and when she said who had the cocoa I replied oh I ordered a mocha and she said yes and I said so it has espresso in it? And she said I KNOW what it is I MADE it. I doubt we will be going back after these interactions.

I did do take out.1) Cup of lentil soup, w mini grilled cheese - delightful, perfectly seasoned, familiar salty impact2) Cobb Salad- large salad! Large seeving of chicken. Fresh lettuce mix, chopped tomato, and bright avocado slices. Mild creamy dressing, I wish had a little more zip. Traditional hard boiled eggs, cooked perfectly with *no* grey. Was excited to try the greasy-looking heap of bacon crumbles, but found them flavorless... quite to the contrary of the couple ounces of SHARP blue cheese.3) carrot cake - DELIGHTFUL. Super moist, carroty-sponge, almost airy but still dense. Dotted with raisins. Layered and topped by perfect kisses of lightly sweetened cream cheese icing. Healthy 4in x 4in x 4in slice, packaged with care.

The pastries are delicious and some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. The chocolates are also lovely. I have enjoyed food every time I have eaten there and the coffee is good although not as incredible as everything else there. Something being merely good is the worst experience Ive had here is a sign of what a wonderful cafe this is I would recommend it to anyone.

The food and desserts at the restaurant are quite good but I was unimpressed with customer service. I have been to the restaurant many times and would say I’m a regular. This evening I went to get my girlfriend and I a dessert a little after 8pm as their hours state that they are open until 9pm. Prior to going to Dulce I called and did not get a response. Their answering machine said to go online to look for their hours (which I did via Google).When I arrived I walked in everything was still out but the staff informed me that they were closed. I inquired about why neither their answering machine nor Google stated their actual hours, and they said they would have to pay Google to change it. They would not let me purchase my dessert, in spite of it being out on display. I left and explained that they should strongly consider communicating their hours better, especially as a boutique restaurant.I had planned on using their large cake for several events at Duke but due to this incident I will take the business elsewhere. I was frankly surprised that a restaurant would treat a regular customer like this especially in the midst of covid financial struggles in the restaurant industry.

I wanted to check this place since long time and we finally drove to Durham to check it out. We put a pick up order online, but they had outside sitting available as well. The food was amazing, my 5yo loved the BLAT sandwich. And the Fun Guy was an amazing surprise. Must have. Coffee was good too. Thanks!

This cafe has such a cute & personal atmosphere! Lots of choices for pastries/ cakes and good lunch & breakfast menus. The turkey, brie, and apple panini that I ordered was fantastic!! The eclairs here are also delicious. The cake was good, but too sweet for me. I would definitely recommend coming here. They also have a nice patio seating area. Although the prices are a bit expensive, the food is of the highest quality.

They have the best gelato!!! So glad they expanded with more seating. Great pastries and food. Sandwiches are around $10, with either chips or a side salad. Not a lot of vegetarian options. I get the chicken pesto substitute avocado for chicken. They have a few full size salads, including Greek with or without chicken. You place your order and they bring it to your table. They have never messed up our order. There is one single stall bathroom (gender nutral), no changing table. Highly recommend.

Dulce Cafe in Durham is a great place for lunch and dinner or to get coffee and some of their amazing pastries and cakes. For sure a hidden gem!

We havent been to Dulce in a long time but returned recently to get breakfast to go. We have enjoyed their coffee drinks, pastries, gelato and BLAT sandwich in the past but this time got a breakfast burrito, salmon bagel, and tuna salad. We appreciated the safety precautions, placed our orders, and had it brought out to our car when it was ready.

After entering the cafe we were not acknowledged and left waiting for a good period of time before someone greeted and offered any services. The person behind the bakery counter prioritized talking amongst her coworkers rather than helping customers.

This was the best food I have ever had in my life. The Brie and green apple sandwich as well as the turkey panini were absolutely life changing. The bakery items we chose were also incredible. 10/10 They do not miss. Please try the apple Brie sandwich, everyone.

I had their B-L-A-T, a Bacon, lettuce, avacado aioli, tomato sandwich and it was SO GOOD. That, combined with the first warm day of 2021, a mocha, and a muffin to finish it off made for a perfect afternoon! The staff were all very kind, the food was delicious, and even the customers were friendly. Id recommend this place to anyone that likes cute little cafés!

They have excellent mocha and lovely red velvet cake. The outer layer of the red velvet cake is very impressive, and the inner layer has milk chocolate in it. Service is great. Latte is okay.

The person staffing the front was not very helpful with suggestions for desserts and despite no one being ahead of me in line, the overall service was very slow. I was disappointed to find that all of the desserts we tried were surprisingly dry and lacked the flavor Id expect at the price point per piece.

I love this cafe. They have the best baked treats around and some delicious food and beverages as well. They are open right now with everything going on and I have to say that the barista that I worked with was so kind to me today that it made my whole day better. I didnt catch his name but he seemed to know the locals by name and was so sweet and kind. I really enjoy supporting this local business. They are wonderful people.

Ive only been here once. Had a good pastry. My wife is more of a pastry eater than I am and is very picky. Being that I often see their boxes around the kitchen, I know their food is good for her to keep returning.

Been here before it’s been decent. I went in the other day an hour before close to pick up some macaroons. There was no desserts on the shelf and associate seemed startled to see me looking for dessert. I asked for macaroons and was told that all they had left was the eclairs. I have been here before and there’s no way they went through all those pastry’s in one day.They probably had put them up and didn’t feel like grabbing it back out. Disappointing experience
