My husband and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary. I drove from Maryland to NC to try on this dress. This shop of excellence was amazing. When I walked in I was greeted with a smile and a congratulations. They even had a little sign in the front of the store that stated my name and congratulations on it. I was pleasantly surprised they already knew what I was looking for and had them all lined up for me to try on. It was a beautiful experience. I will definitely refer to other people.

Gavin Christianson Bridal helped me find my wedding dress!! They were so patient with me and knew the right questions to ask to identify what I liked and didn’t like about each dress I tried on, then took that feedback and gave me different dresses to try based on the things I liked. They were conscious of my budget the entire appointment. The only reason my dress was over budget was because I asked to try on the dress in the window that I had been admiring for my entire appointment so far and it was the one. I absolutely recommend this place and already have to a few friends! I am a plus size bride but I felt normal here and did not feel limited in options based on my size!

The bridal staff at this store presented themselves as low class, rude, and dismissive to the paying party - the mother. Also, to the bride and her wedding party. A staff member called me “hey lady” when asked a question concerning a tear in the wedding gown. After my daughter picked out her dream dress, I was TOLD that I had to sign a document, in essence, that the dress was my daughters, because they have had others fighting. When the bridal veil came in it was off color and not white. The staff talked down to everyone even the bride trying to convince them something off white was white. Eventually after a distressful few days they reordered a white veil. The store overall is dirty with multiple gowns touching the floor. If you want an experience that is respectful, this store and personnel will not deliver.

It is quite another to experience it firsthand. I wasnt sure what to expect. I had already visited a few local bridal salons, before visiting Gavin Christianson, and always walked away unimpressed and thinking I may not find the dress. All that changed at Gavin Christianson Bridal. Hayes greeted our party. She was friendly and gracious. She asked about the wedding, about plans, and then asked what ideas I had for a dress. She listened - really listened, to everything I said, everything I shared, and was spot-on when it came to pulling dresses. Janeen came over to greet us and also grabbed a few gowns after listening to us talk. She could not have selected better dresses to try. She made the process of trying on dresses, and even more, the process of FINALLY choosing a dress, a JOY! The consultants together helped me make the best choice for me. Not once did I feel pressured in any way.  Not once did I feel as though this was a mere job to them. These were people who wanted you to find the dress for you! These were people who cared about you. When you go to Gavin Christianson Bridal, you will be in great hands, caring hands. Thank you, Gavin Christianson Bridal, for helping me to find the dress. ...but even more? Thank you for the way you care about individual brides. :)

This was such a wonderful wedding gown shopping experience. It was intimate, thoughtful, light hearted and fun. I felt really listened too and Janine listened to the feedback I gave and kept pulling dresses that were even more perfect than the last. Overall, it was a great experience! I would recommend them highly to any friend getting married.

Excellent bridal boutique in Durham, NC. After visiting other local bridal stores, I was pleasantly surprised at the level of customer service I received at Gavin Christianson. Yes, they charge a small fee to book an appointment, but it was worth it for the level of attention and detail that I received. 1st, I received a call from the salon prior to my appointment to discuss my dress preferences. 2nd, the day of the appointment, the staff were ready to serve, and had pulled dresses for me to try based on our previous conversation. The bridal consultant was knowledgeable and attentive, and made me feel comfortable. I also LOVED that they had size inclusive dresses so that I could actually fit into the sample dresses (Im a size 14/16 ) without feeling insecure. Amazing experience!

Just said yes to the dress at Gavin Christianson this past weekend. Jeannie, owner, as well as Hayes, consultant, were fabulous!! (Hope I got those right!) I loved how size inclusive the shop is and how knowledgeable they are to help you envision any custom alterations you may want to make to a gown so its exactly what you want! They asked for dress inspo before my appointment and I loved how quickly we were able to filter through dresses because they were already prepared before we got there. I must have tried on like 8 dresses in no time, before picking one from earlier I fell in love with. This was the 3rd and last shop of the day for me, I guess I saved the best for last! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I went to Gavin Christianson Bridal this past weekend. I have to say I have been searching for the perfect dress for only a month (I found it at a different shop by the way!) and have been to several other bridal boutiques and this was genuinely my worst experience. The owner was pushy, I felt extremely rushed and like I was not priority. What was top priority was pressuring me to buy a dress. That’s all they cared about here. I have literally never left a review in my life but this experience warrants a not so great one. Even when asking to try on a dress I liked hanging up it was almost a battle, my MOH told them I liked a certain dress and they didn’t pull it because “it wasn’t what I told them my style was” then I had to ask several times to see the dress before they actually pulled it…. The whole shop seemed really off, very cold, and overall a really upsetting experience and oh they make you pay $25. Not a hold like any other boutique. I immediately bought a new dress at a different boutique that really cared, let me take my time, and let me try on whatever dress I wanted!

The experience I had with this precious boutique was such a dream come true! The consultant was helpful and my experience felt so personal! I couldnt have dreamt for a better day! My mother scheduled the appointment for the Memorial Day weekend since I was visiting from Maryland. It was an enjoyable memorable experience for the both of us. I couldn’t have picked a better place to find my dream dress! I said Yes to the most beautiful Gavin Christianson!

The ladies were absolutely awesome. They gave me an experience to remember. Danyelle was so attentive and it felt like we were friends. They did not push me into purchasing a gown, even though I did! I would absolutely recommend coming here!

I had the most amazing experience at Gavin Christianson. I fully went in with no expectation of finding a dress, I was so nervous. I usually have such a hard time finding things I like, between being picky and not having the typical body type I was totally not looking forward to trying on dresses. My consultant asked me a ton of questions and helped me narrow down what I really wanted without me even knowing it! I found a gown from their private Carrington Collection and Im so glad its not a dress I will be seeing worn all over cause its exclusive! Gavin Christianson made the day so amazing and everyone was so helpful and so kind, I ended up finding my dream dress and I can’t wait for it to get here! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and the experience you get from Gavin Christianson. Ill be coming back for bridesmaids and my hubbys tuxedo too.❤️

After seeing good reviews I was surprised how bad my experience was compared to other bridal stores. I had gone to Savvi to try on dresses and loved it but wanted to try a shop that had more variety in designers. I was the only one in the shop and the consultant asked me the same questions repeatedly as she appeared to not really listen. She found some dresses and had me put them on, but she was very robotic in ok put this dresses on, zip, out, next as if she didnt really care and just wanted to get it over with. She hadnt even zipped the dress up before she haldheartedly asking if I liked it. She barely even tried to clip me in so it was hard to know what I liked. For paying $25 I thought it would be a better experience. We were out in 30 minutes and felt rushed through. I would have preferred to work wirh someone who genuinely wanted to help me find a dress I loved.

Shady Business PracticesThis shop certainly has an excellent selection of gorgeous gowns, however, buyer beware! Warning- this is a long review but feel that the details are important. Initially they are extremely helpful and truly seem to want you to find your dream dress (as they should) but there were a few warning signs about their shady business practices that I shouldn’t have ignored:1) they charge a $25 consultation fee. They apply this to your dress purchase but ONLY if you purchase the same day of your consult. I went to at least 10 different bridal gowns shops and no one else charges a fee to try on their dresses. They use a pressured sales approach to make you feel forced to make a decision on one of your most expensive wedding costs and likely the most expensive clothing purchase you’ll ever make. That’s not okay.2) They don’t give you written quotes for your gown or accessories unless you specifically ask and when they do, it’s very vague.Everywhere else writes down the name of the dress, designer and price.On my first visit, I found a dress I loved. Gineen told me the cost of the dress was $1700. I needed to think about it and told her so. She followed up with me via a phone call two days later to let me know that there was an option to purchase the exact dress I tried on for an off-the-rack price of $1100. That idea was very appealing to me so I told her I’d think about that and get back to her. I continued my search for the perfect dress and went to another bridal store in Cameron Village to try on dresses. They also happened to carry the same dress I fell in love with at GCB. The helpful, no-pressure salesgirl wrote down the dress designer, specific dress and price of $1499 for me without hesitation on cards printed for this purpose. Despite being $200 less expensive, I still felt like I should buy the gown from GCB since I originally found the dress there. Two weeks later Gineen called me to let me know they were having an off-the-rack sale of 10% off so, “the dress I loved would be an additional 10% off”. I was thrilled! I asked if there would be another consultation fee and she told me only if I tried on other dresses besides that ONE. I decided to go back and try it on one more time but because I wanted to try on two other dresses that day to compare, I had to pay an additional $25 (total of $50 now). I narrowed it down to the dress I loved and one other dress so I asked her to tell me the final cost of each dress so I could decide. She told me the dress I loved was $2500 brand new or $1500 off the rack. But that they would give me a “healthcare heroes discount”. When I reminded her that she told me that the off the rack dress was $1100 plus 10% off because of the sale, she told me that she “never said that”. Which was 100% untrue. I also reminded her that she originally told me the dress was $1700 brand new. She told me that was the off the rack price. She couldn’t give me a straight answer about the ACTUAL cost of either dress so I asked her to please total everything up and give me an out the door cost for the dress, belt and veil. At this point I realized I was getting ripped off and decided to take my business elsewhere. I ended up going to Carolina Bridal World in Smithfield based on a recommendation from a friend. I was treated EXCEPTIONALLY and found my exact same dress there for $920!! For the SAME dress and accessories I spent a grand total of $1280, when GCB was going to charge me $2860 (even with a “discount”)!Bottom line- GCB has beautiful dresses but they treat you like you’re buying a used car instead of a wedding gown.Reply: Your reply below clearly shows your lack of class and further proof of your shady lies. I was OFFERED a healthcare heroes discount that was a current promotion from your store. I never threw a tantrum and the fact that you LIED and said that I did is appalling. I was willing to pay you MORE than I was quoted at Coastal Knot and was definitely NOT looking for a bargain dress.

A frustrating series of interactions with staff:I attempted to make an appointment online several days before and thought I had successfully confirmed. When I showed up to the store they wouldn’t let me in and said they had no record of any appointment and blamed it on me. I asked about any future available appointments and they said they had one the following day so I agreed. Within two hours, I had a found a dress at another store and attempted to cancel my appointment multiple times over the next few hours over the phone. Each time they said they were busy with another client. After finally canceling, they still charged me $75 as the cancelation was with 72 hours of the appointment. This was a deeply frustrating series of unpleasant conversations that wasted time and money without ever having entered the store. I would not recommend giving them your credit card number.

My visit was wonderful!! It was just myself, my maid of honor and the stylist so I didn’t have to stress about covid risks and had her full attention. She had clearly done her research before hand on the style I liked/was looking for and had preselected dresses to look at to optimize our time. I found the perfect dress and couldn’t be more satisfied!!

Honestly I went looking at wedding dresses not anticipating a thing, cause my first experience was😐. But when I tell you the ladies at @gavinchristiansonbridal are BOMB AF! I loved everything about my experience from the laughs, encouraging words, to the moment I said Yes! Im so appreciative to them, I cant wait until I get to debut my dress chile!

I have never been dress shopping before but this experience was great! I love how efficiently things were done. Im not a girly girl and never really pictured my dream wedding much less dream dress. I didnt know too many terms regarding the styles available for my body type. As a plus size gal, I appreciated the pulls and suggestions made since I didnt know where to start. I never felt overwhelmed and my mother even noted how patient the team was with her as she asked questions and gave her feedback. The online booking process was great and so was the pre consultation phone call. Most importantly, I was given details of what to expect next along with a timeline. Just A1 Professionals all the way around. I did say yes to the dress and look forward to providing referrals 😁

The whole experience from beginning to end was mere perfection. Before I arrived to my appointment Gineen pulled gown styles that I posted on my Pinterest board. She also played songs from my Spotify playlist to make the experience feel tailored to me. During the consultation Gineen and her team were noting all of my feedback about each dress I tried on. She was able to see my vision even though I couldn’t articulate it well. I was able to say yes to the dress after only trying on 5-6 dresses! My group of friends and my mom throughly enjoyed the experience as well. They, and I quote, said” I could have watched you try on dresses all day. I didn’t want the experience to end.” Overall I had an amazing experience and I’m so happy I chose Gavin Christianson Bridal and their team to help me find the wedding dress of my dreams!

My family and I had a wonderful time at GCB. I brought my mom and one of my bridesmaids with me. I was walked through the process again and then started trying on dresses. The only place I tried on dresses prior to GCB was Davids Bridal and this was a complete 180 from that experience.There were gowns already picked out for me based on our phone conversation and my Pinterest board. All of the gowns were gorgeous, but I was able to weed out the ones that werent for me. I left with the image of a perfect gown in my head, but wanted to think on it due to me having one more appointment. Although I did not get my gown from GCB, I did appreciate the way I was made to feel comfortable and listened to.I will recommend this shop to any bride I know getting married in the area!

I never write reviews but I went to almost 10 wedding dress places before I found this place. The selection of wedding dresses here is extraordinary! The atmosphere was beautiful and the staff was welcoming and attentive. I was there with my girls and Christina made us so comfortable. I said yes to the dress with her help. It was such an amazing experience!

If I could give this place a zero, I would. The best service I received was from the seamstress who was very kind and knowledgeable. The shop owner was extremely rude in her demeanor. Although I scheduled an appointment for dress alterations, I received less care as a paying customer than I would as a customer just viewing gowns. During my appointment, I was not allowed to have ANY guest. My mother was forced to wait outside in the blazing heat and look through spaces in the window just to get a glimpse of me in my wedding dress. When asked why an entire group of ladies were allowed to come in the week before during another brides consultation, I was told there were different guest allowances based on the services being received due to COVID-19 and the threat of exposure. When I pointed out that there is potential for greater exposure with a greater number of guests, I was told that the policy is what it is. If you are VIP or a bride with a consultation, the red carpet is rolled out. However, as a paying customer I couldnt even receive the most common courtesy. I would not recommend that anyone get a dress from this discriminatory business.

I FINALLY said YESSSSS to the dress! After going to David’s Bridal 3x I still was not satisfied and was running on crunch time as my wedding being 62 days away! I was extremely frustrated and overwhelmed and was on the verge of saying the hell with it! I remember my fiancé coming home and saying “baby I found this bridal shop downtown and I called and the young lady said you could come in for an appointment at 3:00p today”. I didn’t respond and was over dress shopping but after he asked me again I finally decided to call! I believe her name was Janae that was helping me (I hope I spelled it correctly ) anyways I was given her so much attitude because of the terrible experiences I had at David’s Bridal! Upon entering Gavin Christianson Bridal she greeted me immediately and I filled out paper work directly after doing so she already had a dress in her hand (not knowing it would be MY DRESS) so I looked it at and immediately responded nooooo I don’t think it’s me ! She said go try the dress on I took a deep breath and went to try it on and looked in the mirror I came out and she requested and stood in the bigger mirror where I said “I LOVE IT!!!!! THIS IS MY DRESS!!!” after the hassle of being overwhelmed and frustrated I finally was able to find my dress and leave it out with it !!!! I tried on one dress and knew it was everything I imagined myself being in and more !!!! Thank you Gavin Christianson Bridal for offering the best customer experience a bride should experience! I would recommend this bridal shop to anyone !!!!!

GCB offers a wonderful selection of dresses. I was able to share my ideas prior to the appointment. Several dresses were ready for me to try on at my appointment. Customer service was phenomenal!

I am very shocked this store has such a high rating. I scheduled an afternoon appointment because I saw an ad online that they had budget friendly sample dresses on sale. I booked an appointment online, but the minimum requirement to put down as my budget was something around $1,500. I also wrote in the description that I would’ve gone dress shopping at a few stores before the Gavin appointment.After I booked, I decided the sale was just TOO good so I rescheduled to a 10:30 AM appointment the same day so I’d have first picks of the great dresses! I then received a call from the store to confirm the appointment and discuss my vision. I explained to her that my budget was NOT $1,500, and I only put that because the website forced me to. I explained I was only interested in sample dresses.In addition, I explained since I changed the appointment time, this would actually be my first bridal appointment ever. She understood (or at least I think she did).So, the day of the appointment arrives. We arrived early, around 10:15, just to be safe. The doors were locked, so we stood outside for ten minutes while we waited for someone to show up and unlock the store. I understand we were the first appointment of the day, but I would expect the doors to be open more than five minutes before an appointment.Inside the stylist said she went through my Pinterest board and said I was “all over the place,” and to be honest, the tone was not very friendly. It came off more like I was annoying her that I didn’t know EXACTLY what I wanted. Well how could I? I hadn’t tried on any dresses yet. She said that in my profile I had written that I would’ve been to a few stores beforehand, and that my budget was $1,500. I explained to her that that was incorrect, and that I talked to someone on the phone a week prior explaining that. I guess the message didn’t get routed/my profile wasn’t updated.In the dressing room there were pins on the floor which I had to move that my bare feet wouldn’t step on. When I went back to the dressing room the stylist would purposely step on my dress to keep me from walking in too far so she could zip me out of it. I don’t know about you, but if I’m buying a dress off the rack, I wouldn’t want anyone stepping on my dress.We did not take any photos (there are signs around the stores instructing it’s prohibited). I think the stylist might have said we could’ve taken a photo of the top dress only, but none were worth photographing. After we went through all the dresses in my budget, the appointment ended early and we left. It was very disappointing because I paid a $30 non refundable deposit for the appointment. Afterwards my mom and sister told me that when I was not paying attention, they got up to look at dresses and were immediately instructed to sit down and not move. Other stores I went to had a “no touch policy” due to covid, but they were much friendlier about it.Overall, my family and I did not feel welcomed in the store, the stylist was not very friendly (it felt more like she just wanted us to try on everything and get out). Luckily we got this appointment over first because we had AMAZING experiences at the five stores we went to afterwards (which were ALL not as “high end”, and didn’t charge me a deposit). All of the other stores let us take pictures, were super excited for us to show up, didn’t make me feel bad for not liking dresses, and were very welcoming and friendly.

I have not had my appointment yet but have spoken with the owner to ask questions about what to expect. She was phenomenal. I felt like she was more interested in what I needed for a pleasant experience more than making a sale. She was patient and let me ask as many questions as I wanted. It felt like talking to a friend. Im excited about my appointment in July.

I cant say enough good things about this place! If youre not sure what type of dress you are looking for, create a pinterest board and the good folks at Gavin Chistianson Bridal will do their homework to find you a favorable look before your appointment. In the shop, we wasted no time narrowing down the look, and I never felt pressured to say yes or no do any dress. The owner of this place is so passionate and talented and made me feel so beautiful.

My experience at Gavin Christianson Bridal was a lot of fun and Gineen made it easy to find the perfect dress. She worked with my budget and encouraged me to try on different styles I didnt know what would work for me. As a curvier bride I was nervous it would be a difficult process to find The One, but the process was so easy at Gavin Christianson!

My daughter made an appointment here, and one thing I will say is that they were accommodating in helping us to book an appointment within an hour of when we called. However, even though no one else was in the salon and we could have stayed to continue shopping, we were told after less than an hour that we had run out of time and needed to get dressed. As we were leaving, the attendant did not even walk us to the door to unlock it for us and called goodbye from her computer.I was also very disappointed that we were charged $25 for the appointment (not simply as a deposit in case of a late cancellation or no-show) and only got to look at 5 or 6 dresses, none of which fit the descriptions of styles and features we were looking for that we had provided ahead of the appointment. Even once we had seen several dresses, the attendant helping us did not seem to effectively listen to our feedback and continued to pull dresses that were not what we were looking for.Having all of the dresses in the back of the shop so that we could not look through them gives the illusion that you will be provided with impeccable and professional service and expertise. What we received was a minimum threshold of pleasantries and very little expertise - simple questions about fit and alterations were either brushed off or unable to be answered, and the dresses were clipped onto my daughter rather carelessly. At one point so much of her skin was pinched in a clip that it broke her skin.Overall it felt like this experience was a waste of time and money, and I’ve had much better experiences shopping for bridal dresses for my daughters elsewhere in the Triangle.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! If youre in the Raleigh/Durham area, you NEED to set up an appointment! The dress selection was huge and unique with tons of customizable options. GC was the only shop I went to who did their homework and asked where my wedding was, what I was looking for ahead of time, and even asked for me to send in pictures. Due to COVID there were inevitable restrictions, but Gineen was so wonderful and made us feel so at ease. She was able to listen to my feedback and almost read my mind in choosing the next dress to try. I ended up finding so many gorgeous that were absolutely perfect. GC made it so easy to say yes to the dress!

My wedding timeline got shifted because of COVID and while all of my other vendors were accommodating and kind, Gineen was not. When I asked to move my alterations timeline, (keep in mind my alternations were fully paid for), she said, Do you plan on gaining anymore weight?Also, I purchased four bridesmaids dresses from here, and my wedding dress. The day I went in to the fitting Gineen insisted I come to (even though my wedding was cancelled), she was in the middle of urging the seamstress to sew the belt I had purchased onto my dress. Only, when I looked at it, it was the WRONG belt. She said that my belt hadnt come in yet (which was fine), and that the belt would be shipped to me. What she did not say, however, was that she would charge me $15 to ship my CORRECT belt to my home.I could go on and on.From my personal experience, what I have to say is that of all of the wedding worries one can face in a time of COVID, unprofessional and frankly what I experienced to be as unkind behavior from a wedding dress vendor should not be on the table.And no, brides, you should NEVER have to worry about whether you gain more weight.I wont be shopping at GC Bridal ever again.
