Charming bookstore with a personal feel. The selections and layout were just right and I loved the handwritten personal recommendations (I am presuming by the owners and/or employees) tucked into some of the books. This place would make a great stop for your gift giving needs.

Before you go to Amazon Durham go to Letters Bookshop. You get to talk to a human like Land and more importantly support a local business. If they dont have what you want they can get it for you in a couple of days.

Stopped in here while walking around downtown. Cute little shop, and prices are very reasonable. Its not an expansive collection, but theres still quite a bit of variety in just about every genre. Also, they have some neat t-shirts at the front of the store. Ill definitely come back - always nice to find books that are affordable!

Lovely local bookstore!! Their used books often look brand new, and they have a good selection of new/newish release used books as well. They have a really nicely curated section of NC/Durham literature, as well as unique and interesting finds in other categories. I think their staff picks section is a nice array that doesnt just follow the best sellers list. Would recommend to any book lover or visitor!

Very cool bookstore with picks for all ages and tastes. Reasonable prices (sale books start at $3 and even some hardbacks are only $10-11). They also have fun literary socks/shirts and recommendations from the staff!

I have browsed this great little bookshop countless times while waiting to meet people for dinner in Downtown Durham. They have a great selection of popular fiction and nonfiction - mostly used, but they also have new copies of best-sellers. I always enjoy perusing the staff recommendations. Definitely worth stopping in!

I love this place oh my goodness. Its so cute and they have a lovely selection of books. Some books are used but very very gently so they feel new. The selection feels very curated which gives it a really personal vibe and not as catch-all as like a Barnes and Noble.

My first visit to this bookstore was somewhat of a half-arsed attempt to re-enter the world of reading. I was greeted by the friendly staff, who made suggestions based on previous material I liked.The store is small, and at first this might seem a bad thing, but it enables very personalized attention and excellent service (worthy of 6 stars, if possible).The staff are all avid readers and their recommendations were spot on. I’ve returned numerous times to this quaint little hole in the wall with its creaky wood plank floors to buy other books. I drive from Raleigh each time, so it must be worth it.

Whenever Im in downtown Durham, I stop by Letters Bookshop. Its locally owned and always has something different and interesting to offer. Even though its a small shop, its a place that I could be lost in for hours. The staff is always helpful and friendly. I love to support locally owned, so this is my go-to bookshop.
