Great location for cooking classes! Have been to three now and have yet to be disappointed. Would recommend and you can bring your own wine to drink during the class. Worth the cost!

Cooking classes here is so much fun and entertaining. Went back almost every month for the past 3 months and Ive signed up for the next class! Some classes are full and you get a lessor portion of food, but some classes only two people signed up and get to cook and eat 4-person meal. Overall, classes are widely available throughout the month at different times.

My hubster and I went for a date night cooking class. We had the most fun! Chef Jeff and his staff were stellar!! Everyone was helpful, knowledgeable, and there are on the double for questions. We paid for a 5 star meal and got it!! In addition, our cooking at home has improved tremendously from all the tip/hacks Chef and his staff gave us during class. Especially my husbands grilling!! Holy Smokes!!! Thanks so much so Chef Jeff and his staff for a wonderful night out! We will definitely be coming back.P.S. you can bring your own beer or wine if youd like.

This store has everything one could need for a kitchen. Great selection with knowledgeable employees. However, the best part of this store is the cooking school. I’ve taken two classes with Chef Jeff. One was on Chinese soup dumplings and the other was Thai food. The classes last about 2 hours and make enough food for an entire meal and some. He is a patient instructor and is happy to answer any cooking questions. He has 2 assistants who make sure the cooking stations are all cleaned and well stocked throughout the session. Durham is lucky to have this cooking school option!

Great cooking class, excellent customer service!

Took a cooking class here with my wife during a client event. We had a blast and the staff was great. The food turned out really good. I would recommend to anyone wanting to learn to cook to try it. My wife is already a good cook and didnt take too much away from it but I sure learned a lot and she still had fun.

I ordered two Scanpans from Sur La Table and it will be over a month (probably about 6 weeks) by the time I receive them. Every time I call customer service a different delivery week is given and they blame it on the fact that the manufacturer is drop shipping them. When I ask to cancel the order, I am told that it can not be canceled, but I can refuse delivery. Be cautious about ordering from Sur La Table, especially if it is a drop ship item.

The team at Sur La Table in Durham really came though! I had organized a team cooking class for all my coworkers at the Durham, NC location. Every single person at this location was amazing! We had several dietary restrictions among the group, and the team really went above and beyond. We all left with laughter and a great experience. Definitely worth taking a class at this location! All the team members at this location is great!

This place is a cooks dream. They have every kitchen gadget you can imagine. The staff is super helpful with explaining the uses and the cutlery selection is top notch. Matt the in house chef is a wizard in the kitchen ( they have in store cooking classes) so cool and dont forget to bring your favorite bottle of wine....

We had a wonderfully time taking the Date Night New Years Eve Celebration cooking class! I would highly recommend taking a class at Sur La Table. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We will definitely be taking another class in the near future; you should too!

Okay. Few helpers on the floor circulating. There were lots of sales. Didnt have a steak stone, also known as a lava rock. Will have to go online and look to purchase.

I came here to get my knives sharpened. I filled out the forms and they were busy so they said theyd be ready the next day at 1:00 PM. But when I arrived they hadnt even processed my order. The person working at the time was apologetic and helpful and Im happy to have my knives sharpened but not so happy about my order not being ready at the designated pick-up time.

Used to be a classy place with great customer service. Now they judge by the way you dress. Things do have great quality but it’s overpriced. I’m sure their employees don’t make that much, then why look down on those who look poor?

I found espresso powder and coffee extract here. Attractive dishtowels and napkins along with kitchen utensils and a selection of sauces. Fun place to browse while looking for specific items.

Came in ready to purchase a super automatic espresso machine, yea the ones that have a 2k price tag. I was in the espresso machine area for a good 7 minutes. There were 2 employees at the cast wrap. Not doing much but talking. One clearly saw me standing there needing assistance, we locked eyes, so yea she saw me. Never did she come to assist me, rather when a couple in their 50s or 60s came over to where i was and started fumbling with the espresso machine i wanted did she come. Not to help me but them. I was there at least 10 minutes before they even walked in to an empty store. She helped them first, they consumed her entire time. They were made of money at least their shitty snobby attitudes displayed that. The entire time im standing there waiting for my turn not once even when i was standing next to the employee did she ever even said she would help me. 20 minutes later and 3 free cups of espresso later the old geezers walked out empty handed. Store still empty, and she continued to ignore me and ignored the 2k cash that i had in my pocket. Wow. Thanks, ill take my money elsewhere. This incident occurred Friday July 25 at around 4 or 5. I hope the district manager reads this.

I went into the store in December and they handed me a flyer that I could get a tote bag and 20% off anything I could fit in the tote (as long as it didnt have a plug - so no appliances - fair enough). However, they were out of totes, so they said I would have to use a shopping basket. I put three items into the basket (about $44 worth of stuff) and handed the clerk my flyer. She said wouldnt you like to put a few more things in there? I said no. She shrugged and rang up my purchases. She did NOT give me 20% off, because apparently I hadnt filled the basket sufficiently! These baskets are big - I wonder how big the tote was (that they didnt have)? And there was a total disregard for the value of the items - that is, even if you put a $70 item in the basket, they would not give you 20% off because you didnt fill it? Seriously? I will never shop there again.

This is an amazing store for starters and professionals in the field of cooking.

I took a croissant and a cake class. Both classes were a lot of fun as well as instructional. The instructors are chefs who were patient and friendly. I did sign up for a class on preserving that was cancelled because I was the only student but they moved me to another day without an issue.

Cooking class was good but...... needless to say we (my wife and I) were on time for the class standing at our cutting board ready to start cooking. Keeping in mind we were broken out into groups of 4. One group of 4, one group of 3, and my wife and I, a group of 2. A group of 3 older ladies show up 10 minutes late and we were asked to move from our station to join the group of 3 forming a group of 5. At this point I will also add I was the only guy in the class. When it came time to eat the food we prepared we were a little short with 5 in our group. Things ended up ok b/c we took it upon ourselves to eat the extras from the other groups plates. Over all a 3 out of 5 b/c it was a laid back class and I enjoyed myself. Chief was good and food was ok. We were served coffee and you could bring your own wine.

This is an awesome awesome store that has everything you would ever need to equip a very professional kitchen they even have a class in the back and some of the most incredible knives Ive ever seen high quality throat and very helpful staff

Took a cooking class...all we did was watch some guy cook. No beverages. Two hours later were eating cheap meal. But they did promote sales of cookware from their stores. 🙁

The cooking class was amazing! Once we got there, they told us that you’re allowed to bring your own beverages and they’ll serve it to you!

Lovely kitchen store with small appliances and and lots of tools and implements for cooking, as well as classroom for learning how to cook. The variety of classes is amazing and usually includes an implement or cookbook. I took the knife class, which was very informative and at the end we got to keep a Wustof chefs knife. Located in the Streets of South Pointe Mall and offering a discount to military.

Ive always found Sur La Table stores to be a little over packed with stuff and it detracts from the charm. However, they do a good job here but the staff is little more than check out people. They are friendly but know little of the nuances of their products.

My husband and I, along with my wonderful daughter and her sweet friend attended Chef Ron Spadas cooking class yesterday . We had such a fabulous time!!❤️ We learned cooking and prep techniques, had a delightful meal and left with the written recipes that we prepared. We cant wait to go back!!

Expensive yes, but they have it all. If employees treated you a little more like humans it would be nice, if you dont look the part of a Sur La Tabler then they ignore you.

The merchandise is alright - high quality and generally less expensive than William Sonoma - but the real reason we come here are for the cooking classes. My wife and I like to make a date-night out of it. Weve had some great instructors and learned how to make everything from macarons to soufflés.
