Great staff and a great selection of various musical knick knacks. Highly recommended for student musicians or those more acquainted with their instruments. Their specialties are guitars but they cover all types of instruments in lessons and repairs.
This is the absolute best place to go in the area if you own an Ernie Ball. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Brian had my bass fixed up in no time. I will be back for all major work on my Bongo.
Cool store, lots of high-quality instruments. Friendly staff, and they also do instrument repairs. They offer music lessons on most instruments.
I like the MA & Pop shop feel, really friendly help, and music lessons taught at the store.
The folks there were great. The selection of guitars was very impressive. I plan on going back again soon.
Good place. Instructor Michael is awesome
Very personal helpful staff. If you like Taylors they have a beautiful selection
Refreshingly friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. Sorry I waited so long to visit the store.
I have been visiting JAMS music ever since they opened their doors. John and his staff provide the customer service out of any store Ive been to hands down.Brian is the man...... PERIOD!If you want the best set up on your guitar then Brian is your go to.He doesnt just do amazing set ups but is an artist when it comes to extreme fixes such as broken headstocks, regrets, electrical work....ectAll in all JAMS music is the best in the Bay Area!
Really great music store, everyone working there is very nice and knowledgeable. If you like music, you’ll like this place :)
They had what I needed, a saxophone repair engineer, which has been difficult to find during these locked down periods of the pandemic.I also loved that he assessed that he could tune the instrument to what I needed (to get back into an instrument that I had not used in 40 years), instead of spending a lot to get a perfect instrument where the difference would be something that I would not notice as a non - expert. I really appreciated this.
Evan helped me out by putting a Vintera 60s Jazzmaster on order for me, and he kept me updated throughout the entire wait. When it was clear that Fender was simply unable to give a reliable wait time due to unprecedented demand in 2020, we cancelled the order, no harm, no foul... and then he introduced me to the Strat that would eventually come home with me.Before I even took her home, Brian did a complete setup job on it that included putting 10 gauge strings on, instead of the stock 9s. Makes a world of difference to me in terms of tactile response, since it’a what I use on all of my 25.5” scale guitars. You won’t get better service than the fellas that work here can give you. They know what’s up, they care, and they do their very best to give you an experience worth coming back for. Even when I’ve been back just to window shop, I’ve wound up coming away with new knowledge and a good experience. Thanks a lot, y’all. There’s hope for the future of musicians yet!
Went in with the intent on purchasing a guitar for beginners and some gear to go with it. Walked out with a new guitar for beginners and some gear. Didnt get upsold on anything either. Just good people helping you out and making honest recommendations.
Best Music Store in Tri Valley area! Great service from friendly staff and Brian (stringed instrument tech) is probably the best guy you can take your instrument to in the area. Ive taken several guitars to Jams for various reasons and they always exceed expectations.
They are the best instrument repair shop in the bay area... en is the guy who service my trumpet. They guy is hands on and he stands far behind his work. Thats how good and dedicated he is. I highly recommend Jams for your music and repair needs
Just had my Gibson ES-335 set up by their guitar tech. It’s never played better than it does now. I’ve brought two other guitars in for similar treatment, including some fret refurbishment on one. In all cases, excellent work!
Good value.
Not a big box store. Nice stock of Taylors and Mesa boogie as well as other guitars and gear. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Glad this store is here.UPDATE:. After I posted original review.Just wanted to add this. My 89 custom Les Paul needed a set up and a new bridge. My guitar has returned to the days of ruling the world with its solid Rock and roll thunder.Thank you! The repairs and set up were very reasonable in terms of price and how long they had my guitar. They completed the work a before the promise date.
Im very please with their work I highly recommend the know what they know doing
I have a used Les Paul Standard that had terrible low E&A string buzz. No matter how I tried to set it up, I failed. It was so bad that I would not even play it. I took it to Brian and he had to do major work on the fret board which solved the problem. It plays great and will now get my full attention by playing the hell out of it.
Jake was very welcoming and knowledgeable and helped me make the right choice. Thanks again Jake!!
Jams RULES! Ive been coming to Brian for my guitar tune ups for a year now and couldnt be happier. He puts a lot of care into his work and it shows. Their showroom is always super clean with an awesome selection. The staff are always super friendly and welcoming. We are all lucky to have them as our local shop!!
Great!, nice and friendly. Very clean.
Brought in a guitar of mine for repairs which I had lost hope on. Brian completely fixed it up and made it play better than ever. The store is very clean and nicely stocked with all sorts of guitars and amps. I was so impressed by their customer service that I decided to sign up for some lessons. Support your local music shop :)
Brian and the rest of the staff at JAMS Music was awesome!! I was referred to them by Phil Demmel from Vio-lence who said to take my guitars to Brian and now they play like butter! They have great products and expertise! Highly recommended!!!🤘🤘🤘
Very helpful and friendly associates. I came in needing to get a violin string replaced. My fine tuner was being cranky and gave the store associates a hard time, but they got it done. Im very pleased with the service I recieved, and I wish I could tip them.
I have brought in 3 of my guitars to have either new pickups put in them or just general repair, fine tuning, fret level, fret dress, toggle switch replacement, etc. and love their pricing and work. My guitars never take more than a few business days to come back to me so appreciate the quick turn around as well.Small businesses like these are gems in our neighborhoods and we should be supporting them!
Its helpful to have a store like this in the area, but service leaves something to be desired. Customers should be served in the order they come in, not based upon how pushy they are. A simple whos next goes a long way
I took my Fender telecaster in to have some Texas special pick ups installed. Brian did a great job with the installation and had my guitar back to me later that day. I have taken various guitars in for tweaks and adjustments the last couple of years and have always received excellent service. The gang over at Jams is great and the service is consistently outstanding.
We were referred to JAMS by our childrens high school band teacher in order to get our daughters contrabass clarinet fixed. Ian at JAMS is AMAZING! The instrument was unplayable in the upper register due to a pretty good dent in the side (school horn), and with all of the incredibly hard work he put into that beast, it now plays like a dream! He called us while he was working on the horn to give us regular updates. What service! I will now bring in my own clarinet to get fixed, as it needs a complete overhaul. The store itself is also beautifully laid out with a gorgeous selection of instruments and gear. I am so happy to have such a great instrument repair and store so close to my home!
Ive been going to Jams Music in Dublin, CA for a few years now. This spot has the best gear around and has by far the most knowledgeable and professional staff. The owner John is super nice and cool. They offer a wide verity of lessons and repairs on all types of instruments. I am a touring musicians and Brian in repairs works on all my guitars. I trust him with all types of repairs from small to big he has it handled. Dont waste your time or money at BS places like G.C. and help out by going to a local, solid business. Ill never go anywhere else.
Weve heard good things about this place so we thought of giving it a try. We went there to rent an instrument but they said the one they have is being repaired. We asked for a return call once it becomes available so we can get it. Five days later and still no call so we decided to call them. Then they said its no longer available as someone else already got it.
I pretty much came in to look around on lunch break. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean store. Massive selection of beautiful guitars. Planning to bring in one of my guitars for a setup.
I have been bringing my guitars here for a few years, the guitar tech is knowledgeable and conscientious. I learn something new each time Im there, I would consider him one of the best in the bay area. The Staff knows the products they carry and is friendly.
These guys are fantastic. Not only is it a beautiful store with an amazing selection, but they rented me a pair of PA speakers with 10 minutes notice on a Saturday for a gig I had down the block where I forgot my own speakers. So nice of them to do that. They were 100% accommodating and focused on the customer! I am referring my friends in the area to JAMS.
A great local music shop. They have a high quality selection of guitars, amps and accessories. Taylor and Mesa Boogie dealers. Ive brought 3 of my guitars in for set-up. Quick turn-around and reasonable prices.
The inventory and Customer Service is top shelf, no doubt. But their secret weapon is the Repair Shop. Brian is *amazing*. Always surprises me with a quick turn-around on my basses that I bring to him, and is always super congenial, and a total pro. I wont take my bass guitars anywhere else. Highly recommended!
Very friendly and helpful. Competent in house technician/luthier too.
Great service. Knowledgeable personel. John was very helpful.
Great little store friendly staff nice selection. Even better after recent remodel and expansion. In stock selection of Mesa Boogie, Music Man ETC. Competitive pricing and nice selection of pedals.
Very knowledgeable sales mngr.and guitar tech.brian did an outstanding job on 2 of my guitars.very detailed fret work and set up.polished and cleaned i feel he went the xtra mile to make it play right.will continue to patronize this store!
Jams is a great music store for both band instruments and guitars/drums. Taylor distributor too. I bought an acoustic guitar there and now take guitar lessons at the shop. The staff are all great.
Great repairs and very knowledgeable storekeepers regarding helping customers understand different items. I would have liked to see a better structured schedule for repairs so that I could drop off my instrument at the best time, but I understand how such a schedule can be difficult to create.
Excellent customer service with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Helped me find exactly what I needed and made sure that I had everything I needed would recommend to anyone looking to buy the perfect instrument for them.
Small sized neighborhood music store. Friendly staff and services. Mainly focuses on guitars but doesnt have a large selection. It primarily focuses on mid to higher end brands. Offers classes at the side
Great staff, friendly atmosphere, can always strike up a conversation about some piece of gear or another. If you need your instrument setup, Brian is your man! He does a wonderful job, especially on those pesky floyd rose bridges. High recommend this place.
They fixed my old Ibanez that had super conplex and outdated wiring and set the intonation really well... it sounds great. Really good selection of mesa boogie amps too.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Walked in to look at guitars, walked out with a KALA uke. Great little store. WILL definitely be back.
I really appreciated the customer service I received during my first visit here. I received a great deal of information from the owner and he didnt try to sell us anything that was unnecessary for a beginning band student. Im sold. This will be our music store from now on.
Friendly folks, quick service, in and out in 10 minutes
Well stocked with quality but not overly pricey instruments, friendly staff
Really nice plays. The staff is very attentive. My new go to guitar store.
This place is amazing. Friendly staff that makes you feel welcomed, reasonable prices and timely service.
Nice store with some quality brands and a good service guy.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Limited, yet highly quality selection of instruments and accessories. Excellent teachers and lesson facilities. Got a Taylor guitar, got an LR Baggs pickup installed, got an Ibanez Bass, bass amp, guitar amp and several accessories for my drums. A local store worth supporting.
Expert evaluation of repairs needed to get very old high school trumpet back into playing condition. Repair accomplished with great success; fast friendly service by knowledgeable staff.
Every time I enter into JAMS Music, they are so well prepared to assist me with any guitar needs / repairs that I may have. They have fixed up my Epiphone acoustic to play like new!Their owner, John runs a first-class operation, and his passion for inspiring the music world is evident from the top down. Its clear to see that JAMS Musics staff are all very relational: you get the small business intimacy with a large business selection of high-quality products. Simply put, I am impressed with their lessons staff, retail floor and general business practices. I highly recommend this store to anyone with who loves learning, practicing and jamming with any instrument!
Very nice people. My kids get piano lessons here.
Friendly staffs, lots of music instruments and music book selections.
Excellent service and work adjusting my Taylor acoustic. Fast too!
Very helpful and passionate staff.
Staff knows the products inside and out. Good amount of space dedicated to lessons, and is a dealer for Mesa Boogie. They also just started to carry EVH and they have Boss katana on hand in various sizes. They have Taylor and Ibanez acoustics, as well as a bunch of other brands I cant seem to remember. They had a bunch of ukuleles and I noticed some trumpets and clarinets. Seems like most things are represented here. Drums could have more space, but they just expanded, and I bet it could be on the way.
Good, friendly service. Big selection.
Good job with the amp repair and great turnaround time. Thx
We brought a guitar from them. Very helpful people.
Extremely happy with the work they accomplished on my ukulele. It was surprising to see their friendly customer service and a breathe of fresh air with their professionalism.
