Buyer Beware!!!! This dealership is shady and I would avoid them at all cost or if you have to buy there watch them like a hawk. Our sales representative was nice and did a great job. The issue was the manager or finance person who tried to charge us 8k more than the sticker price for the car we were looking at in a bait and switch scheme. The car’s sticker price was 22,900, but they wanted us to finance 30,900. When we looked at the breakdown of the price the car’s price suddenly was 2 grand more. When I asked them about it they said that was always the price. They must have though we were stupid, because I can literally go outside and check. See photo below. Also, they wanted to charge us 2 plus grand for dealer added accessories. Which is ridiculous, as most of the add one would cost much less if I bought them on my own. For example, a module that makes your brake lights flash cost $20 and is easy to install, not 1k. This seemed like an obvious attempt to charge more for the car than what was listed especially since I never asked for them and they could not remove the items now so I would need to pay for them. So you have been warned I would only shop there at your own risk. It is crazy that a dealership in this day an age would try to be so shady. If they are willing to try and rip us off for a couple of grand who knows what else they are not telling us about the cars.

The last place anyone wants to be is a car dealer on a Sunday. Cars are expensive and you do not always get the level of honest customer service necessary to entrust such a large purchase to the sales representatives available. We went to the Hyundai dealer in Huntington Beach on Saturday and they were aggressive and made you feel like you were about to be taken advantage of. At Downey Hyundai our sales rep was Daniel, he not only gave us the highest level of customer service I had ever seen but was kind and thorough in his explanations. If he didnt have an answer to a question he would ask his general manager. Daniel was extremely personable and honest, which was greatly appreciated after our last car dealer encounter in Huntington Beach. Once we selected the two vehicles we would be purchasing their financier Alberto took over. There was no pressure to buy the warranties or GAP coverage. He explained the benefits of the two and allowed us to make the decision based on the information provided. My spouse and I were in a time crunch as well but once we let them know they had us in and out within 3 hours. I dont know about you but it is a widely known fact that you could spend ALL day buying a car, 3 hours is a short trip for two car purchases. The customer service alone should earn you their business but if that isnt enough, know that they are patient and willing to work with you to find the exact car you want, for the right price, and without the pushy tactics used by other dealers. We are exceptionally happy with them and will be referring family and friends to them without a doubt.

Staff was very helpful. They had a car ready for us to test drive when we got there and answered all our questions about the car. When we went to negotiate the purchase, we were quickly able to come to an agreement and it did not take long to get through all the paperwork. I think Ive been left waiting at other dealerships for longer than this entire test drive, purchase, and financing took.

Bad experience, they dont care about their customers. Never heard from them once I left the lot with the car, and they dont return phone calls. Watch out for the loop holes if you try to use the gap insurance and extended warranty that beg you to buy.

Service department recall appointment review : I would like to acknowledge Pedro Salas, manager, and his crew Jacky, Juan, Noel, the check in woman (sorry, forgot your name) and my service advisor Jamie for taking care of me today. It started off great the night before when I got a reminder phone call about my appointment. When I arrived the check in person and porter were friendly and got to me right after they were done taking care of the customer in front of me. I found another recall but Jacky quickly looked into the history and found the recall was repaired with the first owner and put my mind at ease, thanks again Jacky and Juan for answering my question. Service is a joke.( Waiting room they have donuts and coffee that’s good lol)They are ALWAYS short, they never wash you car, they don’t inspect your car as they should.Once, I marked my tires from the inside and see if they rotate the tires.They told me the did, but after I checked the marks. The marks were exactly as I draw them before the service.They checked my Elantra GT TWICE for the same issue THE SAME WEEK, I had a oil consumption, they said the car was good. The following week, I found out for another dealer that the car had a serious issue with the gaskets.I missed Hyundai Commerce. They usually had a way better service.Save yourself time and go to another dealer.

Everything was fine until they added $3500 to the price their own website calculated it to be for extras that I didnt want and they refused to remove the items they were forcing on me. No deal. I drove 50 miles for nothing and wasted an entire day. Sleazy, sneaky sales tactics. Sleazy salesmen. They lost a customer for life!

Walked in on a Sunday and everything seemed nice. Had a good selection on vehicles. Wanted to checkout a palisades and took it on a test drive. I then asked for a approximate interest rate for the vehicle so I can see if I wanted to get it or get a Honda Pilot. The first sales person showed us around and he was very nice. When I asked for the rate someone else came out and began to make me commit to purchasing if I wanted to see any rates. He was very rude and was really looking to make us seem like we were wrong for coming in to the dealer. Very worst dealer experience I have ever had. Very disappointed with the customer service will be going for the pilot as I do not want to be humiliated by a sales person for asking for a rate.

Went in to test drive a couple of vehicles. We were ready to make a purchase. We had a female sales associate (cant recall her name) that was very nice and very helpful in showing us the vehicles. When it came down to talk price, they add a ridiculous amount on pre installed accessories. We tried to negotiate but a rude Manager interrupted the conversation we were having with the sales associate and sat down without us asking for him. He basically hijacked the conversation from the associate and made things awkward and difficult. From the start, he was very abrasive and did not want to discuss the price of anything. I did my research beforehand and I would not allow myself to get ripped off. The conversation went south fast and in a matter of about a minute, he did not want to continue and stormed off and basically told us to go elsewhere. I am so glad we did because I couldnt live with the thought of giving this guy our business. I feel very sorry for the sales associate, she was helpful and quite honestly was off to a good start. It is unfortunate that due to the rude Manager this associate and this dealership is losing customers. Ultimately, that same day I went to a much better and bigger dealership and am now a happy customer of a Honda vehicle. Please avoid this place and dont waste your time here, seems like they arent willing to earn new customers.

Shopping for a vehicle is always frustrating as there is a concern that salespersons are lying to you to make a deal. Due to the car shortage I was told all dealerships were doing market adjustments and dealer-add ons(extra security system, clear coat protection, etc). When I informed them that I had an offer from a dealership that did not do market adjustments, I was informed that they were lying. I then happily went to CardinaleWay Hyundai of Glendora(recommend Neal and Christian) and bought my new vehicle WITHOUT a market adjustment. I saved about 10-12% on the total cost of my vehicle. I also imagine that every dealership has their policy, but I was also not allowed to walk away with the piece of paper showing the quote to purchase the vehicle, even though other dealerships allowed me to do that. Also make sure you ask for the cost of the vehicle after interest is calculated into the total price, they neglected to include that and I had to ask them.

I made an online inquiry for a vehicle here through car gurus. Car Gurus had the dealership contact me. The dealership wrote me a text that this was not the color I was looking for. Then asked if I wanted to come in to see it. I politely said no thank you. Then someone named Mike with an unintelligible accent calls me after 9pm. He claims the vehicle IS the color I wanted. I asked a couple of questions. He answered my questions then got very pushy asking me to make an appointment to come in and see the car. I had a hard time understanding him and we had a bad signal. But when he asked me to make an appointment to come see the car for the fourth time, I said no thank you and just hung up because at this point I was frustrated with him for being pushy and rude and I could barely understand him anyway. Heres where things get weird. He tries to call me back, I ignore his call because I was ordering something. Next thing I know, I am getting a text from him telling me I have no respect and that just because I am shopping for a high end car doesnt give me the right to be rude. What the heck?! And then he texts that money cant buy everything. What a jerk! Good luck selling cars dude! I will not be buying from this guy!

It took 4 hours for a basic service and previously when I tried calling the service department and other departments they never answered the phone and eventually the call disconnects. On top of that the girl working the counter in the service department was pretty cold/rude. Won’t be coming again.

They broke my trunk!! DO NOT get your vehicle serviced here!! NEGLIGENT! I came in because my car was shaking when coming to a complete stop…. after the inspection, they advised me that it was recommended I do a fuel injection cleaning. I said ok and I agreed to that.That went well, but when I arrived home I noticed my trunk wasn’t opening. Completely shut. I called the service department a couple hours later to let them know that my trunk was able to be opened remotely via my keyset prior to me bringing in the vehicle. They advised me that the mechanic would not have touched that area of my car without my permission. They told me to come in another day to “make some quick adjustments”, and if those “adjustments” weren’t successful, I’d be given a price quote to repair my trunk. HUH?? Why should I be given a price quote and pay for something your mechanics broke? It was working before I went to your shop!!

These guys are definitely NOT trust worthy. Don’t take their word for ANYTHING, these guys are crafty They told us they would honor our carmax offer which we explained BEFOREHAND that was expired and asked if we should get it updated, the “CAR SALESMAN” told us no problem come on down all the way from riverside and once we got there they all of a sudden couldn’t honor it and tried low balling us. We Went back to carmax that day and got it appraised for even more than the expired one.On top of that they tried selling us a suburban with a huge scratch and bogus paint coverup alone with ac vents and side panels missing. These people are very misleading and not honest in my opinion.I would definitely think twice before giving your business to them. This is why companies like carmax are thriving.

Bought a used vehicle at a hyundai about 4 years ago. Everything was good about til a month ago when we were on vacation. Our car died on us in the middle of the road. Had it towed home and taken to this dealership where the said the engine went out. Not an issue since we have the bumper to bumper, 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty. They submit the claim to hyundai. It took hyundai 3 weeks to respond, and when they did, our claim was denied. So now its either going to cost us 8000 dollars to fix it or buy another car during a time when car prices are sky high. Dont trust the manufacturer warranty, they wont honor it.

Prices on used vehicles are subject to an additional $1,700 paint protection add on, SCAM!!! They try justifying their mark up w/ a lifetime complementary power train, let’s be honest I won’t drive the car for the next 20yrs. I’ll probably swap it in the next 4 years or so.....

Bad bad bad!!! No care about your car but your wallet. My Kona 20 with engine oil burning problem, says my warranty doesnt even cover the inspection but you got to pay $105. Im so angry on Hyundai and this dealership. One more thing! Why do they put air to the tire that much? 33 is normal but now is 38. They are crazy!!

The service department is the worst. They do not help, do not tell the truth, and just want to do the least possible service. One guy helped and sent me a text claiming he was another employee since they are brothers and are sharing their accounts /passwords. They have not fixed my car since One month after I bought it . Claimed nothing was wrong then finally found two problems and they claimed waiting for Hyundai to give parts and authorization. I called Hyundai headquarters and they are just as bad. Three months and they are telling me to go to service but did not help and claimed I did not want car serviced then when he couldn’t get appointment from Downey service department he told me to go to another dealer to start all over!!!!!! This is a 2021 Kona EV that is defective and already had three recalls fixed. I did not buy a new car to have problems!!!!! Hyundai has no accountability!!!!!!

I are leasing a 2021 Sonata SEL+. Ashely is very helpful and the rest of team members as well.Changed to 1 star as after sale service is awful. 3x time visited for servicing and none of each time got a loaner car,The recent service got worsen; no part has been made available even the schedule made one week ahead to replace the specific part.We even called one day ahead for a reminder and still no part has been ordered and asked us to leave the car - no ETR is given not loaner car.BTW: THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR :( :( :(

Yesterday I went in because I saw a great deal on The car I’ve been wanting on true car, Fabian was the one who assisted me with the car. I let him know that I’ve been looking into this car and he explained everything about it very well to me and I did not walk out with a headache, it was a really great experience for me buying my first new car and he did a very great job. The manager went over everything with me as well and did it very smoothly. If you want to look at cars here I would definitely recommend talking to Fabian, he will take the time to go over everything and make sure that you’re getting the best deal.

[Quick disclosure, the 1 star is mostly for the lack of communication. SO every single dealership I have dealt with are practically all the same but this one stood a bit more because of lack of communication after purchase. I recommend you try out carmax or carvana first before dealing with any dealership. I do not regret buying the car, I just regret the time constraint Ive had and chose to accept this deal instead of haggling/shopping around] Bought a mustang, with overpriced, non-removable and unnecessary add-ons. When car was bought they only had one key(odd but ok), tires were low pressure, low quality engine oil was used(according to my mechanic), lowest octane (87 instead of 91 or 93) gas was use to fill up in mustang, basically dealer did a poor basic maintenence on the mustang. Car was $31000 but those add-on add up to 4 or 5 grand more, anyways I am not here to talk about the dealership misrepresentation of their car prices since very dealership does this except for carmax, carvana, tesla etc. I am here because of lack of communication dealership has after car was bought, I am a very busy person working from 12 to 18 hours daily. I do most of my communications through email since it gives me flexibility and time to examine the contents thoroughly and it permits me time to give a quality response. I have email the dealership twice and have gone to their website and file an inquiry and have yet to receive any response.

I was in the market for a new car and came across a listing on truecar.com for 33k. Gave them a call to inquire and potentially purchase the vehicle. I was then told it was 37k and would not honor the offer given to me. I told them that with that price i can buy a much better car like the Honda type R, VW golf R or Focus RS. Plus i received offer from other dealers for 33k. Such a shame they kept giving me a run around for an overprice vehicle. Definitely would not recommend doing busy here! Seems pretty shady! List one price and give you anotger!

I turned in my car 3 months early and they surprised me by paying off those last three months.So the second new lease car had an issue, and they never even suggested having the car issue fixed even though the car was 2 days old, they just had me bring it in and they replaced it immediately!!That action in its self made my a happy customer.There service department really does have the attitude that the customer comes first. From making an appointment to getting your car back as promised, and if you need to rent a car they have an on sight rental agency that offers vehicles at excellent pricing.I really must say that I am a happy customer.....

I took my vehicle there for the 3800 mile check and asked them to also see what is going on with the rear tire that keeps showing a loss of pressure. The service advisor called and told me there is a huge nail in the tire and that I would have to pay $180 for a new tire because they cant fix it. I declined because he was just trying to make money out of me. A few days later I took my car to a tire repair shop where they removed the nail and fixed the puncture for $30.I am highly disappointed because it makes me wonder with how many other people they try and pull this off.

My personal experiences with car buying has been stressful and high pressure. Hyundai Downey embodies these qualities perfectly, their aggressiveness is over the top and makes the whole experience unenjoyable, to the point that I walked away, went to Kia and found a much more chill and laid back shopping experience. Ultimately I went with a Kia simply based on their attitude toward the shopper experience. I fully understand what car shopping is however the difference in how they treat people made the choice much easier for me.

Was sold a a used 2017 hyundai ioniq, I went to the dealership with the trust that I would be sold a working vehicle, reliable, that wouldnt leave me stranded on the side of the road. 4 months later and several visits to different service centers and several weeks being unable to work Im stuck with a lemon. The car almost broke down and stalled out on the expressway, something that could have caused an accident. The service centers just change a few fuses and send it back to me, it works for a few days before the fuse shorts again instead of fixing the problem. Read the fine print, how much is left on the warranty and check the car fax for details they wont mention, no accidents doesnt mean anything, otherwise you could be out thousands of dollars.Edit 7/7/2021: after taking it to the Hyundai service center in Glendale, they managed to fix the problem by replacing a fuse and even contacted the tech department from the manufacturer....all this was done under warranty and I didnt pay out of pocket, Im leaving the review as is because my experience with the service center at Downey was so terrible that the person at the counter even tried to tell me that my vehicle wasnt under warranty only a few weeks after purchasing the vehicle.

Love this place! They were all super kind and allowed me to take my time, since I was talking to my mom at the same time to pick me up. They ended up offering me a rental so that my mom didnt need to go out of her way. The service agent that helped me was named Pedro and was detailed in informing me about what was needed to be done, as well as making sure whatever promotions were going on at the time were granted to me. My appointment was a little later in the day and with what needed to be done to my car, they knew it might have not been able to get washed and asked if I was okay with leaving my car there. Which I did and my car came back to me exactly how I left it... just cleaner. Truly the nicest people, thank you Downey Hyundai!

Jaclyn is amazing. She gets 100 stars if I could. She gives the best customer service ever. Everytime I go she makes me feel so comfortable. I also like Carlos as well he is a very good worker there also. With those two there I could never ever bring my car anywhere else for service

Adam Hijazi and Eddie (Im sorry I cant find your last name!) were such a help to me in leading a Hyundai Kona. I am in a high-risk group for COVID 19 and I had to get a new car to replace my current car that the lease expired on, but I did not want to go into a dealer to do it.Adam was kind enough to do all of the work using email, text and occasional phone calls getting me a great deal on both my trade-in Subaru and on my leasing terms.He then had Eddie deliver the car to me along with the paperwork which I signed and Eddie walked me through the new tricks of the trade on my oh so cute car. He then took my old Subaru back with him and remained cheerful when I had to call him back and tell him my prescription sunglasses were in the Subaru.I highly recommend working with Adam. He was responsive and efficient and very nice about working within my conditions.

So disappointed at the way they handle my deal! I traded my car and purchased a new one from them. They said they where going to cover all the expenses of the trade in when making the deal but they lied. I called the finance department and said they couldnt help me because I didnt finance with them. I was never informed of this and when I talked to this dealership they said they thought the finance company was going to waive the fees. In the 4 years I had a lease with them I was never late on my payments. I had excellent credit and now I dont because It took me a while to pay off the extra return fees. For the record, I had two leases never was late on my payments and I had purchased a car from them. I was a loyal customer.
