Came here because I previously saw the $299 ad on their site. It was no longer valid but they gave me a quick estimate for my dads old car. It was higher than I was comfortable spending but it was a quick and friendly service. I will probably come back when I see a special unless I decide to paint the car myself before that happens.

About a week ago I came into Maaco with little to no knowledge about the cost of painting a car. Elizabeth was immediately very helpful and took the time to provide an honest estimate about cost and repairs. She was extremely professional all while being friendly. After going to the downey shop and having a bad experience with the managers rude behavior and lack of manners and afte reading the bad reviews i will not give themmy business and avoid myself a headache

My experience at Mascot was the worst ever thinking It was a good deal with $299 special they had but once I got there everything change and got an estimate of $800 for paint job and small detail I said to fix and repair and I accepted and had appointment and after I went back on my appointment they lost their estimate paper and also that I got wrong info and they didnt tell me right price and I end up paying $1200 n still agree n when it was done and ready they brag about it came out good n inspected everything got done right n I noticed a spot that didnt get painted but I was in a hurry but let them know thinking that was the only thing n didnt bother looking at the moment after I took it back and they fix their mistake after 2 days past I wash it n notice a lot of things wrong in different area parts was faded or not painted due to masking tape n ruin trimming of rubber around window with paint n stay lift up and didnt repair everything that I paid for just did a sloppy job and at last they didnt want to repair the errors and mistake they did and to top it off they have their nerves to say that theyll fix it but gonna have to charge me extra if I wanted it done and it was the female manager that I dealing with and didnt want to deal with me since I already pay them n didnt care anymore after to solve anything but made excuses and lies instead and that was the worst service I had in my life and I hope the owner of the Maaco in Downey is read this and fire her from there and more responsible than her of whats goes on in there and fix this kind of issue and problems with their customers.

Took my 2010 Dodge Challenger to be painted it’s original color, PXR brilliant black. Dropped off car 2/22 with $1000 down payment for work. Wasn’t ready till Monday March 1. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was wrong color. It was a regular black. Went out to check it with Elizabeth and told her it was wrong. She immediately started raising her voice and insisting it was the right color. After 15-20 minutes of her insisting it was correct and calling people to verify, it took a coworker telling her it was the wrong color for her to calm down and accept it. The color they used was PX3, it’s a black for older Dodge Viper. PXR and PX3 are very different colors and also not easily misread. R and 3 don’t look the same. It’s hard to mistake a 3 for an R. But it’s a mistake and it would be rectified so I was very accommodating and had to walk home because I was dropped off. Elizabeth made it sound like they were doing me a favor by prioritizing my vehicle and fixing their mistake. That she would “take care of me”! That’s the bare minimum anyone would do after their mistake caused their customer a huge inconvenience. But I guess I have a different idea of customer service. I returned on March 5 to pick up vehicle. I inspected paint job, there were at 20 or more bubbles that looked like lint or something under the paint but Elizabeth said this was in the contract and I should expect that many because they are a “production paint center”. When I asked why the door jambs weren’t painted, she immediately raised her voice and said “you didn’t pay for that and you were told we wouldn’t do that” and that it was extra. I told her to calm down, I was only asking. Told her the salesman asked if I wanted anything painted in the inside, no elaboration and I didn’t know what he meant by inside. I thought he meant like the dash or console. I don’t work there, I don’t know what that meant. If he had been specific, I would have included this. Elizabeth Castaneda kept insisting I was told “specific things during my purchase of services” and that they tell all customers these things. This type of bullying might work with others but I know what I was told and her repeating her insistence over and over isn’t going to change that it wasn’t true. I know what I was told. Also her trying to blame me for not adding brilliant black to my color choice was insulting. Telling them I wanted PXR is very specific. It’s a color code. It is set up so mistakes aren’t made. It’s not an 8 digit number where someone might mistake 1 number. It’s 2 letters and a number, easy and specific. I will never use this place again and will never recommend it. In fact I will go out of my way to recommend other places. Horrible customer service. Very unsatisfied. I guess I got what I paid for. Cheap customer service. I will wait to see how the paint job looks 2 months from now and will update this. Hopefully the paint job isn’t as bad as the customer service. UPDATE: Maaco sends an auto response to all reviews but they don’t care to resolve anything. I emailed and called them and they haven’t responded at all. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!!

Big sign $299 for a paint job.After trying to get information on a small car that didnt need body work, it took the office manager almost 20 minutes with a lot of excuses to tell me the total would be $450 if the car didnt need body work.RIP-OFF ALERT

Very poor customer service, rude and dismissive with respect to the body damage I need repaired. A REAL waste of time, no persons available for an estimate. The quote from clerk was twice that of two other reputable body shops. Save on your gas and time and go to another body shop, perhaps independently owned. Maybe my very poor experience with Maco is limited to this Downey location. Hope this review is helpful for other persons that need to repair their vehicles body damage by a more customer service friendly body shop that charges a fair price and respects your bussiness.

Over price never go here they trying to rob you

At first the manager was very attentive and quoted me for my truck to be repaired and painted. Before the truck was done I was called and told that it would be more money for repairs when the manager had already walked around the vehicle and quote was done and in writing. I mentioned that to the manager and she still insisted that it was not part of the original agreement. When the truck was done I went to pick up vehicle. I had chose a color for my truck and when I arrived to pick up truck the color did not match the color I had chosen. The truck had a purple look to it and I was not satisfied with the outcome of the paint. Again the manager insisted that it was correct and that I had chosen that color no matter how much I displayed my disappointment with the paint that was not just gray but purple. Also the paint had a major defect on the right passenger side and needed to be repainted. So I had to leave the truck and wait additional time for the truck to be completed. Despite all of this I still paid my balance in full and had to request for my truck to be repainted to the color I originally wanted. I also had to pay additional for the new paint job. The only way to insure the color would come out right this time was to have them paint a car part and have me view it before they painted the truck again. There was a car that the manager showed me and I had agreed that I really liked that color and wanted my truck the same. So they painted a car part for me to approve and that color was still so different then the car the manager showed me. So if I had listened to the manager again my truck would have been so different than what I was shown for the 2nd time. However I liked the color of the car part better so I approved it by the part only. Finally after a week from the original due date my truck was done being painted. After about $600 more than the original quote and all time the color is now what I wanted. However the paint still has a couple of poor quality defects and I showed the manger before leaving with the vehicle and she said that there a production company and that some defects in the paint like the run of paint on mine are expected. Overall very bad experience here at the Downey ca site. I have no problem paying money for quality work however here I guess they expect you to just listen to them and not have an opinion on what you pay for. Well I still have to go and get those defect fixed, not looking forward to my visit back

I went to Maaco to get my truck painted and it cost me $1400. The paint was peeling like a sticker within a month. I can tell you via the contract where it states that there will be orange peel so later on you cannot dispute this on your claim. It doesnt matter how expensive the paint job is, because its aways going to say the same thing in the contract. Even if you paid more, there is still going to be problems and there WILL be orange peel as per the contract. If you go back and tell them to fix the problem, theyre just going to Mickey Mouse it and youll lose the charge back with your bank. I would not recommend ANY Maaco Services, as paying more won’t get you a better paint job with them. I have a picture of the contract where it says “Note: Customer understands imperfections will show (orange peel, dust specs, overspray).” They will mess up the paint job to cover up any mistakes they do themselves. Also, when they re-installed the roof rack, they made holes in the roof which caused major leaking when it rained. I was not informed or made aware of the fact that I had a roof with holes in it. I was driving on a rainy day, when water suddenly began to pour out of the roof onto my one year old child, which could’ve done serious damage. I have a picture of the contract and video proof of the leaky roof and peeling paint.

I give up, I took my car there for my doors on the drivers side and although the body work was awesome when they finished. The lock cylinder for my trunk and gas cap was removed and lost. After so many attempt calling and leaving messages without a call back, about getting the cylinder replaced with no luck. Now my friends at the dealership are telling me that for the work being done, there was no reason for that lock cylinder to be remove anyway and now they lost it, very fishing. Now I have to rekey my entire car out my own pocket. It was bad enough for the work to take 10 weeks long but, not to get your car back 100 percent. Should have took it to the dealer. Lesson learned. Wait for your friends to come back from their month long vacation.

They did an amazing job with my 2013 Honda Civic, the paint matched very well and they replaced everything I asked for making it look so brand new. They also finished the job on time as promised. 10/10 would recommend

I wanted to surprise my husband for Christmas (he went out of town) so I brought his truck into Maaco (downey) to get an estimate, these people were so incredibly nice and helpful. The price was about 1/2 of what I had been quoted by another car painting establishment, AND the warranty at Maaco was 5yrs and the other place was only 3yrs! SO who do you THINK I chose? I thought it was too good to be true and was a little nervous, they took the truck on a Saturday and called me on the following Wed. letting me know I could come pick it up. I brought my son with me and he couldnt believe how amazing the truck looked! I couldnt wait for my husband to see it. He returned from his trip later that afternoon and I had the truck parked in the driveway with two HUGE bows stuck to the windshield and side mirror. He was in shock!!! He thought I had bought him a new truck! The old paint was SO bad, (clear coat looked like the truck had leprosy.) We CANT stop admiring it! It looks GORGEOUS! Great business, GREAT folks working there and most importantly GREAT paint job!!!!! WELL be back!!!

They painted my truck within the time frame that they promised. They were all very friendly. And the paint job came out a lot better than I expected. I am very happy.

I took my car in to have it completely painted about a month and a half ago. To make a long story short they took longer than anticipated but did credit me because I was paying for it myself and I had to have a rental car for extra days. The paint job quality was rushed and they scratched the hell out of my taillights with their sander. I was annoyed but figured there was no way to get it fixed and realizing it was a cheap paint job and an old car was not in the mood to fight about it. I happened to go back a week ago because there was a chip out of the new paint job and wanted to get it fixed. I ran into the owner and showed him the problem. He profusely apologized and said he would fix everything even the taillights. This was amazing as I never expected this level of service based on my previous experience. I brought it in the next Monday and they got everything done in one day as they said they would. They also did the best they could at fixing the lights which look way better. Bottom line, make sure you speak to the owner and double check your car before leaving. However if there is a problem talk to him and he will take care of you. Much better customer service second time around!

Oct. 14, 2019 Maaco have ($599 staring) coupons online for car paint job. When I get there I had an estimate for $1900 including that coupon, that $500 IS FOR PAINT ONLY which doesnt say on the coupon. A lady who gave me the estimate added alot of body work that my car doesnt need, I never crash before I just wanted a simple paint job but she keep saying I need bondo stuff. This place used to be 1 day paint job, my car got painted here 10yr ago excellent paint I paid $600 that time. I need a new paint job but I couldnt get that discount, Im kind of disappointed since this was my favorite please. Hopefully some manager can contact me.

Great job on my 1998 Nissan Altima. Only problem is that over spray got inside my vehicle (dash, console, headlight lens, original hub caps, etc). paint color was off as per vehicle code. Considering my options right now

I had my SUV painted by Maaco Paramount about 2 years ago. My Detailer noticed paint chips on the roof of my vehicle. I hadnt seen the chips but contacted Maaco. I explained the situation to representative Lily and without hesitation she asked me to bring it in for an inspection. Without hesitation, we made an appointment to return the vehicle for repair. I returned my SUV on a Monday and received a call from Lily on Wednesday that my vehicle was ready for pickup 😊. Lily was knowledgeable, efficient and had a pleasant personaility. She also went over and beyond to assist me with an issue on my vehicle without hesitation.

Good and quick online customer service. Good in person customer service, the price for my car painting (just the outside, no collision, i just wanted it a different color) $700. The inside of the car doors would stay the color they already are. With a wait time of 2 weeks. In my opinion that was a bit on the expensive side for me. But the customer service was good! lol Thats all I have to say.

Wow, Maaco office representative and painting team did a fantastic job in getting my car painted pure white. The painters painted the car carefully and it looks awesome. Im proud to have gone to Maaco, now friends and family are asking who painted my car and their wanting to change their car color.

Im giving them 2 stars. NOT because of their job but because of another situation. Repairs and paint was good, although paint is brighter than original cast color (they DO warn you it might be close to color). My situation is that they KILLED my battery. Had to jump started it once infront of me and on my way back to work died 3 more times. I HAD to buy a new battery and gave them (Maaco) a copy. I expect them to reimburse me for this.They tried telling ME i came in with an older carand possible olds battery.NO!!They jump started my car the day before which i only found out today and the day i picked up my car.They should be more courteous of others properties.

I was referred here by a customer in Auto Zone advising me they should charge me no more than 290.00 so I went to get an estimate on my bumper. When I arrived I was greeted by a young gentleman who took a look at my bumper and started off with 250 and I was excited than he quickly moved to 290 with tax plus 100.00 for something else so I said ok. He quickly jumps to 460.00 total. I told him I was referred & I was shopping around for a reasonable deal because the dealer is charging 420.00 & he suggests I go there. Sad service u must say. So I go to Maacos in Long Beach on Carson St & was charged 279.00 paid in full at drop off. 😊

Paint serviceing was great no defects however they jamed my key ignition by forcing my key to turn on the car, they broke my chipped key and claimed i brought them a damaged car to begin with. The lock smith i went to on Florence and eastern also claimed of forced entry that ruined the ignition cylinder. Please take video and pictures of whats left in the car or how the car ran before leaving the shop i am very dissatisfied with their rude service. I will be filling a small claim to at least compensate for the tow expense and parts needed to repair my car Beware of this place please.

Jason was a pleasure to work with.Our 2006 Nissan Altima had the typical fading paint from the hood to the top of the car. The team at Maaco turned our ugly car to a beautiful car that we are proud to drive.On a side note, the reason I didnt give Maaco five stars was the unprofessional customer service that we received from Cesar on the phone. The team at Maaco should remind him that when he is talking to customers on the phone you dont use slang.

For this maaco 😑😡I submit 2 complains in their webside, They never responded to any of them, we have a very bad experiense with Maaco, we went because I thought this was a good company I saw their comercials in tv and receiving their emails in my accounts so we deside to take my car to 1 of their dealers but it was a bad miskate 😠, first in their policy said that if The car has something extra they should call the customer if they want to fix the problem, well they never call me about the little bent on my driver door, 2nd they never fix my bumper which had a crack in the middle from a previous hit, then I started to notice that the hit was notable more and more, 3rd the silver letters of my Car starting to falling off then I decide to took my car to the shop and talk to the manager about all these issues, then he said that about the policy they never call their customers to suggest if they notice a bent or something because it was for paint only, I told him why then the policy said that ? He answered me no we dont have to do that! Then I told him about the bumper why they didnt fix it and the letters they just glue them like whatever.. He answered me we fixed the bumper that crack is from someone hit your car 😐 and I told him no sir! Look at the new paint is not scratch! This is below the paint! And then he take off the letters and all he did put a maskin tape and put them back! 😐😑 Then he told me if you want to fix the door is about 350.00 and the other issues we will fix them .. I told him when to come back he said in about 1 week, 😐 at this point I was not happy anymore with this Maaco, also I told him that they leave all the tapes on the bottom of the car ! They didnt clean the tapes on the bottom, the tapes were hanging thats why I notice them 😑, well now after I took my car again to fix the bumper and the letters because I didnt like what he did! With the letters .. They fixed the bumper but they ruin my rims they didnt cover my tires, part of the side of the body were like opaque I dont know what is that! Since Im trying to take it off but nothing is working .. The letter are all bad having glue around like if my 4 years old son glue them, and again the tapes inside my car like if they cover only half of the car they ruin my rims and parts of the body paint now are opaque so 😐 I went with this guys (Maaco) because I didnt want to take my car to any cheap shop! 😑 well those were my thoughts but it seem like if I took it to one of them, the workers look like they dont give up fu$&(!! 😡 and the manager takes everything like he doest care well yeah because he is not loosing money!! Dont go to this maaco! Such a crappy maaco! 😑

DISHONEST SHOP! Once we got the car back, his moms handicapped hanger AND his FasTrak device were missing. When he called, they laughed at him; he asked for a call back from the owner or manager, of course, he never received one.
