Had great deals. Polite customer service. I deal with cashiers not the self check out. Always end up having problems with them. Over all get shopping

Ive only been in Safeway a couple of times due to distance from my home, but I have found it to b great. The veggies and fruit are so fresh. Everything presented so attractively, tho their prices are rather high. I still go there just for fruit and veggies. U get what u pay for.

This review is of the Safeway on rte 13 Dover, Delaware. Ive always found what Im looking for and they have a great selection of fresh meats. Be careful of discounted meat and fish. Ive had to take beef and lamb back, and then fish because they were rancid and the refunded me with no problems.

Always love Safeway. Only place locally that I can get freshly baked Italian and French bread warm from the oven. Their pastries are the best. Overall one of the best supermarket. A little pricey in comparison to like a Walmart but love to splurge on the weekend.

Quick, easy in and out because I found what I needed without any issues

The store was okay over all. It looks like it needs a make over, its very old looking. Definitely has a good bakery, floral, and deli. Its place in a convenient spot next to my hotel.

This store really doesnt have much to offer. Prices on food is very high and cant find things that I have been buying for a long time from other stores up North Delaware . But it seems to be all the grocery stores here in Dover Delaware .

Safeway is constantly reinventing themselves... by that I mean they are constantly shifting the store around making it hard to navigate.They do suffer from a lack of open registers and sadly rely on a small bank of self checkouts that are never to full capacity.They might consider rejoicing under used registers for more...

If you have to go to a grocery store in Dover this is the cleanest most organized one. Carries high quality products. You get what you pay for

Good food. Great selection. Very clean. Hot food ready to eat. Didnt see any utensils though near the served hot food. One star off cause of the cost of everything. You definitely pay for the experience of a nicer shopping experience.The bakery gets 5 stars out of 5 though!

Safeway is a interesting take from other grocery stores or super marts. While you can still find many of the regular items youd want and name brands you recognize they set themselves apart by the brands they carry.Where most stores offer the same brands around the same price and then try to offer more generic brands at lower, Safeway offers higher quality brands. The price might be more expensive but the taste will follow expectations for the price.They even have a bistro in store. You can find homemade delicious soups, sandwiches, and salads. Makes for a perfect lunch or dinner.

From feeding the family to ensuring my getting the right ingredients for my homemade dog food🙄, Safeway always has what I need. My bad experience took place after Christmas 2020. It was getting toward the end of the month, money gets tight for those of us living on a fixed income. I ordered 1/3 pound of the $6.99 Shrimp. The young man in seafood offered to steam them. I said sure, but no Old Bay seasoning. I went back to pick up he order in the prescribed time frame. The young man was not in sight. The contents in the container was not what I expected. The total cost was just under $8.00, not the less than $3.00 I was expecting. I went to the self check out and expressed my dissatisfaction, No one was the least bit responsive, If I completed the transaction, my food budget would be strained for the rest of the month. I left the store without completing the purchase. The portly concierge at self check-out was more than glad for me to leave. I have not shopped in the Dover, DE Safeway since this experience, about seven months ago.The in house dynamics r worse in this store than any school I ever taught in. I miss having the single roasted chicken breast.

Great place to shop! Never disappointed in their freshly made products right in the store. Clean environment. Friendly and attentive staff. The guacamole and pineapple salsa they made was amazing! For store made. I was quite impressed! Well done over all!

Id be sure to miss out on the bathroom if at all possible, its absolutely the worst that Ive come across. The staff cant be bothered with Any Questions, the prices are too High for my liking.. I gave a 3rating simply because of the selection, that the only thing good I can say about it! Very disappointed! 😜

Safeway is a great grocery stores you will find most varying foods and personal necessities here. Great vegetable and seafood sections. The store is clean and organized. I do find that Safeway is a bit more pricey compared to other grocery stores, but you can find some good sales here make sure you check out their circulars to gain some savings.

Actually I like Starbucks inside of Safeway. They also have my crackers.

When going after 9pm there is generally 1 register open with a line a mile long. Youll see 2 employees who hanging around and not helping. Also I was followed by a secret shopper who didnt try hard to blend in. I didnt have a cart, bag, or purse for that matter and I had a 12 pk of soda, pint of ben and jerrys, and a pk of sushi. Where am I going to put it to take it. I only come here as a last resort.

It costs more than average, lets get that out there.But... you get what you pay for. Quality meats, especially a great seafood dept.Store is always clean and I never wait in line. So pay a bit more and enjoy that standing rib roast tomorrow! Christmas Day..I will....Still love SW. I forgot their restrooms are all ways clean and stocked.

Lady making my food act like she didnt want to be there. Greet the customer or something. I never been in a royal farms before had no idea what to do. Im from the south we barely have stores like that. Just saying if you dont want to be there leave and if someone doesnt know what to do help them instead of saying go on the screen🤷🏻‍♂️

I love their sales on sodas so I stock up for special events.

Safeway is loosing their edge. Its usually junky with product sitting in the isles, trash on the floor, and the employees seem more interested in what they did or will be doing than taking care of the customers.

It was terriable,I check meat out it was spoiled I went up and down counters alot of meat spoiled, I dont understand why there store manager didnt see this,ill go to acme sams walmarts even if I hate walmarts

It wouldnt have been so bad if people were grabbing a handful of items but some decided 10pm on a Friday was the perfect time to do their weekly shopping run.This complaint is less directed at those people and more whatever manager on shift felt that dropping down to a single checkout lane was a great idea with that many people still in the store. And further refused to open another lane himself until he finally noticed that the line wasnt getting any shorter. Bought 2 items, took me 25 minutes from getting in line to walking out. Ridiculous. Please, for the sake of everyones sanity, figure your staffing out.If youre going to shop here, avoid doing it after 9pm.

I went to Safeway to ask about having a Girl Scout Cookie Booth..I ended up doing some 🛒 shopping.lol..The Store is always Clean.....Now you dont always get the best Warm Welcoming, however yesterday I did have 2 Workers that have a Smile..P.S..This Place has the best Looking And Tasting Strawberries 😋....

Safeway has a big variety of goods and is very clean.

Well maintained super market. Lots of fish (fresh), good bakery just a nice place & the have a Starbucks (mini).

Everyone is always nice very professional but most importantly the deli department is tremendously run well and the staff Margo, Rachel, Linda and the other nice people that work there are just awesome!

Pretty good. Not quite as nice as Redners, but so much better than Food Lion. Fair selection, but wish they had a better selection of Asian condiments.

I was so excited when I found this store after moving - finally a nice store that reminded me of Kroger back home! I tried so hard to like this store, and to avoid leaving a bad review - but bad experience after bad experience has left me very little choice. On their own each experience could be excused, but it is the patterns I have seen that have made me realize I have other, much better choices.1. The staff is the worst part of this store. Almost every time (with 1 exception I think) that Ive had an employee ring me out they have been SO SO slow, and have no sense of urgency. This has been with multiple employees (I noticed a slow one, went to the other, and then found myself stuck again). Often the only time I have to grocery shop is in a narrow window of time between clients, so this doesnt work well for me. Others might not mind this.- one time there wasnt enough change in a drawer, so I was directed to customer service. Again there was a lack of urgency, and it seemed like no one knew what to do/what was going on. (all I needed was a few $20s back!)- Carts can be hard to find in store. Its more than likely youre getting it outside for yourself (and not COVID cleaned). The employees doing this job also have no sense of urgency (I see them slowly walking outside, on phones, etc).- When I ask staff for help, they are generally unhelpful, unknowledgeable, rude, or just uncaring2. Pick up - I was not feeling well, so to be considerate I did a pick-up order. This was again a bad experience- I had to call the pick-up number several times before they would answer. When I called back to ask for help with my issues, the number repeatedly went to voicemail. This is bad customer service.- HALF OF MY ITEMS WERE MISSING. I understand when they dont have something in stock and dont charge you for it. No issues with that. But I got home (again, stayed in my car because of being sick) and checked my trunk, half of the items were missing and I was charged for them. (I was also charged for 2 bags that werent even used - small issue, but again, another issue)- some of the items were damaged - were this all that the issues was, then sure thats fine, but just another thing on top of it all.3. Stock - I like the items they carry, but when they regularly dont have enough items of basic things like 1% milk in stock, thats simply not helpful.Luckily I was able to use the app to get my money refunded for the pick-up order items, but this was through the corporate side, nothing to do with this local store or its management. Ive had too many bad experiences and management not caring about its patrons to return again. I recommend Food Lion as an alternative option.

Safeway is a great grocery store. Good products, meats, seafood and produce. If anyone reading this experience Christmas eve they will understand. The lines were beyond ridiculous. For 3 little items it took nearly 45 mins to check out.

Certain things runs out quicker than other .....for an example turkey wings. They have pretty good deals, anything thats not on sale is pretty pricey.

Best place around to get plant based meats. Quite a variety of types and even has both frozen and fresh, so I can grab some to store and some for the same nights dinner.

Ive always hated safeways lay out. Its not like other stores. Its got u going back and forth for items you usually find near each other. Plus its super expensive for no reason! I can spend 50$ on a small spaghetti dinner! And the lines are always hell!

They offer delivery thru DoorDash at least here at the Dover location. Also instacart but Im not as familiar with them. Very busy store parking lot can be very full at times. Early am seems best time to shop here if you dont want to be so crowded

Mrs. Ellie, Ms. Shana and Ms. Tee always providing excellent service. At the fuel station Ms. Leslie, Mr. Stanley and Ms. Dani always provide excellent customer service. Because of the above mentioned and a few more that i may have misses is why i make Safeway my go-to for all of my families needs!!! Thank you Safeway!!!

I love getting great deals being a member along with discount at the gas station. The environment is nice and love having the Starbucks inside.

Like having a grocery that is still open 24 hrs... good for those getting off night shift. Still Safeway prices are high, except for occasional sale items.

Late evening visit, before heading on vacation. Wonderful breakfast treats and nice selection of packaged deli lunch meats. Friendly service. Only issue was poor lighting in the parking lot, it appears the over half of the lights were out.

I went here to find a specific item and the courtesy person was very friendly and directed me to where I needed to go.

The store was nice and clean. They had a great variety. Its the first time Ive been able to purchase Scotts toilet tissue since the quarantine began. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

If youre familiar with Publix/ Harris Teeter, or Wegmans, then this is right up there with them. The grilled chicken wings in the deli are the best, along with the cleanliness of the store

I do the order ahead and pickup here and have had much better experiences than at the Walmart pickup.

The store is well stocked and they do have some good sales. Their produce section is very good, mostly. Be sure to download their app and use their rewards program to save some money.

Store itself is nice. And workers are fine also. Prices, not so muchMore expensive than the other stores in the Dover area. Not much variety on canned veggies, had no peas at all, and not much brand variety either. Milk - if you drink the fake milk, your covered. Real milk is limited, and couple of times I found no milk at all (I prefer 2%) brand is pretty much limited to Lucerne, and quantities of gallons, half gallons and smaller are limited.
