An expensive place to buy or sell. Youll do better at a pawn shop. Go to a fair coin dealer. I could sell this guy a $10 bill out of my wallet. He would not pay a penny more than $7. Tomorrow it would be on sale for $15 and hed not take a penny less.

Ive been buying there grab bags online over the last few months, I always get my moneys worth and a great variety. I have had one issue with coins not being shipped, they promised to make it right and they did👍

I took in a gold $5 proof coin. I calculated the melt value for that day to be 377. They gave me 356, which is amazing.! Quantity connect to the pawn shop Ive been lucky to get 100. I dont imagine they always pay the high for gold scrap, perhaps they made their money on our transaction from the numismatic value. Still I was extremely happy. I feel thats a fair price. I will do business there again

I am a fellow business owner that has been in business for almost 20 years dealing in sports cards and collectibles. I have talked with Tim when he bought the shop a few years ago and talked about helping each other out. Whenever I sold out of product that a customer needed immediately I would send them over to first state. I had my feelings that things were only going one way and I found out today I was correct. I not only sent them a $600 customer but Tim refuse to admit that any sale had happened. I send you business and you dont even have the kindness to say thank you or even regard me as a fellow businessman. When I have had theft at my store and I called them to see if they can work with me I am told they do not deal or buy sports cards which is a lie. Very dishonest if they lie to me whom else do they lie to.

They are very knowledgeable when it comes to currency! The prices seem fair as well. I came in to have them look at some old coins my mother gave me when I was younger. I was very pleased with the results. They were quick to help me and set me on the right track!

I took some old coins and bills to them and they gave me a good price for them. They explained why they would pay what they did too. Good people.

I started coin collecting when I was 11 and came here to start my collection. Since I was young and inexperienced with coins I was ripped off several times. To start I bought a silver half dollar in the eighteen hundreds at this shop. There was a hole in the top of the coin that was filled in with some type of material. Next I bought a trade dollar and found out that it was cleaned and i spent around $250 for it. He never told me this and always made it seem like i was getting a good deal. He always tried selling me his coins that are cleaned for top dollar. I trusted him every time and when i got more into coin collectoring I realized how he made such a profit on me. Now im still stuck with over 6 damaged and cleaned coins. He has a great selection of coins but if you’re inexperienced DO NOT COME here unless you want to get ripped off BIG TIME

This is a great place to shop for coins. There is always a lot of different coins to choose from. Also the staff is great and patient when it comes to answering any questions I have.

Their selection is good, and the people seem nice enough, but the prices arent really justifiable. Id recommend against going here to sell or trade anything from your own collection especially.

I always make a fair deal at First State Coins. Honest vendor and have been in business 40+ years. Worth the 40 mile drive to Dover!
