Nice discovery for us-- Janetos has been there in Dover 95 years!! Fabulous meat and deli counter, homemade cookies and pastries-- even Ginger Beer! Helpful, attentive staff. What a great place.

Conveniently placed grocer however questionable and poor judgment in the quality of staff. A lot of their personalities are off-putting it doesnt feel very comfortable and friendly when shopping.

$6.99 a pound for vaccuum sealed, mass produced factory pork ribs. Tendercrop, a local farm, charges a dollar less for pigs they butcher themselves. Needless to say, the most expensive rack of ribs I ever bought. Will never shop there again.

Very sad to see this place on such a progressive decline. Im there almost every day. Since the ownership transition, it gets worse everyday. Most of the aisles are blocked because the shelves are always being stocked during busy hours. Check out line is longer because they seldom have both register lines open anymore. Today I waited five minutes at the meat counter while I watched two kids argue over whose turn it was to wait on me, only to have my chicken breasts literally thrown at me once they were priced and packaged. This place used to be #1 hands down for so many years. Like everything else, a once great institution bought and sold down the road. Sad.

We have been buying our meat for years at Janetos (the Freezer Filler offer is great and our go to as a family) and its the best place for meat! Absolute value for money, great service, highly recommended!

Janetos is a clean, reasonably priced, local grocery store with friendly service and quality products. I go to this small business as an alternative to supermarkets when my anxiety is acting up and I cant handle large crowds. The aisles are spacious and the customers generally friendly and respectful. No ones going to hit you with their cart in line here.

All those who crave local, sometimes we have to ignore one bad experience otherwise we will never have any locally owned places left.My experience was great. Going there again today. I am amazed how with one bad experience, people forget the larger picture of what is important

I was born and raised in dover, I love Janetos Market in Dover. All the employees are just really nice and down to earth, and always make you feel welcome. And always try to make sure, that your visit to the store was good and makes you want to just keep coming back.

I love janetos! If youre looking for good quality farm raised meat then this butcher is the place to go. Every time I buy here Im blown away by the quality and theyve always got great bulk deals going on. I cant sing their praises enough, in fact, I dont even buy meat anywhere else anymore 😁

Great family place. Excellent sandwiches. A good small shop we can walk to from apartment. In comparison to some of the stores in the area the meats are decently priced.. Some items are higher but your going to the store primarily because of the meat market and convenience. Not a bad little place.

I have a love hate with this superette. It MAY be mostly political. It may be that Im uncomfortable with a bodega style shop in the middle of rural NH (grew up with the real bodegas). Higher prices which are expected from this format but they always have that one odd or end you didnt get at market basket

Great place, nice folks, excellent selection especially the deli. The prepared foods show care and quality not found in other stores- and of course the fresh meat melts in your mouth quality are to die for. Fresh made subs, salads, super convenient-a must go to place in Dover-say hi to the mayor.

I really like Janetos especially the meat counter. If I am mood for a steak they have a number of cuts to choose from. Their butcher is great and very knowledgeable. Their tuna fish salad is very very good.

Staff and 90% of the customers were masks. Tried the sweet sausage and it was was very delicious and good quality.

As long as there is a mall-cop security guard to bother me while I park my car to do business in this plaza, I will not be giving my weekly business to any of these stores. I can park anywhere in downtown Dover for free on the weekends and no one questions me when I get out of my parked car while in the middle of a conversation on my phone. If this parking lot was at 50% capacity all of the time, I could understand the reason for his presence. His existence is both a draw on the bank account of the idiot who hired him, and hurts business exponentially. Assuming I can read the sign directly in front of my vehicle, having someone read it to me is both an insult to my intelligence and a draw on my patience prior to what would have been a positive shopping experience.

Eating their house-made sub rolls is like eating a fluffy cloud of deliciousness. You dont even need to make a sub on them, theyre fantastic right out of the package. Buy some!
