Went to Dover Chevrolet in search of my first pick up truck. Went to see an older truck that I thought was a decent deal. The truck was technically sold on Dover Honda’s website, but they insisted I work with Rochester Chevy instead (no big deal, it made sense and was across the parking lot). Upon arrival to Dover Chevy I got out of my car to be greeted by the salesman who seemed unenthusiastic about my presence. He brought me to a vehicle which was a completely different truck then I came to see, this truck was in terrible condition and I wasn’t interested. I proceeded to ask about the truck I wanted to see and was told “it’s in the back” (they clearly were trying to sell me on a truck they couldn’t get rid of). They took me to the Chevy in the back I originally came to see, and I did a walk over of the truck. I noticed right away it had these massive fender flares that dealerships typically put on when they are covering rust. I asked if they put them on and the salesman said yes, when I inquired if there was rust under them he said “not much”. I told him I was not interested and he said with an attitude “well these are cheapest trucks I have”. After that I was done, I wasn’t there to see just the cheapest trucks, I was starting at the low price point and working my way up. I eventually left and went to Chevy in Rochester where I was treated respectfully and shown very nice vehicles. I left there very happy in a clean 2016 Chevy 1500 z71. I’m a young Hispanic man covered in tattoos, while I usually don’t assume my appearance has anything to with how I’m treated, I couldn’t help but feel like it contributed to my poor experience at Dover Chevy. The assumption that I didn’t have money to spend was really the icing on the cake.

I saw the car on the website and I liked it, when I called them they told me that there are no problems with the car and when I agreed with them I drove for 3 hours from Connecticut to them then I was shocked that the car has a lot of problems, the drivers door and the front part of the car are in very bad condition and there is also Big scratch on the back door of the car and the display does not work. The salesman Marty was saying I know youve driven for 3 hours and youre exhausted as if he meant you got in trouble and you should buy the car because the way back is far away. I do not recommend buying a car and dealing with them, they deceived me and I hope they do not deceive you either

I had my truck repaired after a hit and run collision. Matthew and Lauren were great at getting me in quickly and the repair was done in two days. I also was given a rental via Enterprise with whom they are affiliated which made a seamless transition with pick up and drop off.

My truck came back to you for a recall, AC was not working and asked for it to be repaired. Well the condenser was not in stock and will take 2 weeks to get, (I can get one ac-delco in 3 days??) and at $948 . I paid my bill of $268 for chare and diagnosis, buy and install for $130,Have the system evacuated and charged for $90-100. Im saving just und half the estimate.The employees are excellent, friendly nice, perfect!! Store/shop/dealership top notch! Its your pricing! thank, Jeff

Devon in service was so very helpful! I have a lease out of New York and needed to get home, yet my Colorado wouldn’t go over 50mph without violent shaking. The service department changed my factory transmission fluid and made sure I was given a courtesy vehicle... with my truck being fixed the very next day ! Thank you guys for everything !!

We were able to build our car to our specifications and Marty was knowledgeable throughout the process, and kept us in the loop as our car was built and shipped to Dover. The paperwork for the sales process was also started prior to us coming in on closing day, which sped along the process and made it much easier to manage. Synopsis:Detailer swirl scratched the entire car. To fix at a proper car detailer has been quoted at $1000.Service department falsified service record stating they had replaced front rotors but only resurfaced them.Rear rotors replaced with uncoated, less than factory specification. Had to be coated to prevent rusting.Bought a used car from them, detailer must have used a heavier polishing compound, scratched the entire car, holgramming all over the car, multiple scratches around corners and in difficult to polish spots. I have been quoted by a detailer to fix the scratched clear coat. Bill is around $1000. The car only has 20,000 miles on it and should not be so scratched.Was told the car had new front rotors, later found from a mechanic they were only resurfaced. Car was noisy at first from rust on the rotors, got better as time went on, but even after a 10 hour drive, the rotors still pulsated at high speeds. Replaced rotors with factory spec rotors and pulsation has disappeared. Service history was falsified.Rear rotors were replaced with less than factory spec aftermarket replacements. After 2 weeks of sitting, rotors were completely rusted, ended up removing the wheel to repaint and properly coat the rotors.My recommendation is to take a close look at the vehicle you are purchasing from this dealership, and request to not have the car detailed as it may cause significant damage to your future car.

I brought my 2017 Chevrolet Corvette grand sport in for an oil change. The girls upfront in the service office were very professional and friendly I have absolutely no complaints regarding the two ladies. However when I received my car back there was a greasy oily handprint on the hood and the shifter and steering wheel both had oily residue on them.I was contacted after I gave my review from one of the service girls who was once again very professional and very apologetic. After I had written my initial review I went and checked the oil in the car and found it to be greatly over full with oil. I hadn’t discovered this issue when I had taken my original survey and the service girl offered to have the vehicle taken back in but while I was talking to her discovered that a mechanic who was not Corvette certified had done the work on the car. To use her words the Corvette mechanic was not available. I informed her that I was even more upset now to think that they would Allow someone who is not Corvette certified to work on my Corvette 🥲In my opinion it doesn’t matter whether you have a $90,000 vehicle or a $900 used vehicle this sort of thing should not happen. I understand that mistakes or accidents happen in life but the minute they didn’t have a Corvette certified mechanic they should have not allowed anyone else to touch my vehicle very disappointed customer 👎

We had two good experiences. The first was when we could not get our 2020 GMC to operate the camper running and stop lights. Both the camper and the truck were tested and both showed they were operating correctly. Jennifer and her crew finally discovered the problem and recommended an adapter to allow more current flow so the trucks computer would recognize the camper. This was after two visits to GMC dealer and one to the camper dealer. The second was a regular oil change including tire rotation that was done there.

In and out quickly but just needed state inspection and check tire pressures. The service staff tried vainly to solve my phone contacts pairing issue but it turns out that the radio has old 2009 Bluetooth technology - a disappointing revelation about Chevrolet - since it was a $150 option.

Customer service was great. Although, I requested oil change, filter change, tire rotation and to fill my def fluid. I asked twice when I was completing the transaction if it was all set and left. After reviewing the paper work later, only the oil and filter were changed. This is disappointing

When Marty took over things went much better. The first sales man was rude and appeared annoyed to be helping me because it was raining that day I came in. He kept telling me to just go on line and was not answering my questions. Marty totally turned it around and helped me get exactly what I wanted and printed out what i needed as well as actually showing me how things worked in the car. I will only work with him in the future. The other man that helped initially needs additional trainibg on costumer service and professional behavior.

Okay so going in I had two cars that I was paying for 2017 WRX, 2009 Murano. Two years ago I had a divorce and had to let 4 credit cards go into collections and it killed my credit. Fast forward I see a nice Toyota Tacoma for sale. I go in with low hopes just to see. First they give me a good deal on my WRX for a trade so I was happy. Then came time for approval. Obviously this was a challenge based on my credit even though I made plenty of money. Sean in finance worked hard for hours to find me a lender with a decent rate. At last he found one willing but here’s where it gets tricky!I was told the bank REQUIRES a WARRANTY PLAN in order to approve the loan. So I say okay that’s fair, it was high mileage.Week goes by and I get a call from the finance company doing the welcome call...He says as part of the questionnaire, do you understand that the gap insurance and warranty were not required. I said that’s not what the dealership said. He then said do you understand it wasn’t required...So basically I was lied into purchasing coverages that I didn’t need.In any event I was happy about everything except for that...If anything breaks during the warranty they better honor it that’s all I’m saying....

DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM HERE!Ended up purchasing a used vehicle from here (2014) was told the bumper to bumper coverage was $600 ended up getting charged about 4,000 went in about 2 months after for a recall (they could never work around my work schedule i had to work around theirs) and went in and also canceled my bumper to bumper warrant, the service manager went to go “talk” to the repair person to make sure this recall wasn’t covered under the warrant... long story short I had to pay $7000 to replace my engine! Go to Portsmouth Chevy instead they’re much better and listen to you!

Very fair used truck buying experience. Salesman Kyle wasnt pushy, understood what I was looking for and was very helpful. He even came in on his day off to work out the final paperwork for the sale. He let me take all the time I needed to look over the truck, and put it up on a lift for me to look at. He also had two leaking coolant hoses replaced at no cost to me after I noticed them. It was a tough decision to pick the right truck as I get older. I did finally decide to go with the Silverado even though the entry steps are the same height as my 2008 GMC truck. I would have like a extra cuts on the price but COVID affects the salesman as well as myself. It is a beautiful truck and I will enjoy it in my final years. Most important feature was the fact that major repairs are covered under warranty. I did not offer a trade in and I did pay cash for the purchase, therefore I would normally expected some type of reduction in price. I am also unhappy that General Motors had removed my GM Employee discount benefit. I will go as far as possible with my drivers permits and hopefully make it to a day when I can purchase another new vehicle. My son now drives my 2008 GMG Sierra with 129K miles. I am confident that his son (my grandson) will enjoy the Silverado.Regards Ron

I want to start off by saying I really do like the Silverado I got from them, BUT I have a couple issues with the process of getting it. Problem 1: I was only given a singular key and zero lock remotes for the truck I just bought for $26k, yet you guys sell both items in your parts department. The salesman was very quick to take the spare key to my old truck WITH two lock remotes, and then told me i could buy a spare key and lock remotes elsewhere, rather than provide them with the truck... kind of like what should be done with EVERY new vehicle purchase. Problem 2: I recieved a letter in the mail from Dover Chevy confirming that they, infact, tried financing my truck through a third-party, eventhough I had made it extremely clear that I was already preapproved for the entire amount the truck cost through my personal bank. I wasnt going to say anything, but finding out that they tried financing me through a different bank, when I was already approved was the last straw. Am I going to run into issues when I schedule the free oil changes too, since its certified pre-owned?
