A nice little Chinese buffet. They have all the classic dishes you would want plus a few American options for those that dont like traditional Chinese food. I feel like the dinner price is a little bit high but the lunch is a very good value.

Chicken on a stick was incredible moist and tasty,bacon wrapped shrimp wow.there was not anything there that was not a labor of love by the chef it was perfect.

I love this place. I have been looking forward to having my neighbor load my walker and drive us here so he could eat here for the 1st time. He enjoys Asian Food too. He said it is amazing here and much better than other Asian food he has eaten. I was looking forward to showing him the Hibachi Grill but it was not open when we ate here today 8-2-21. I also noticed the mens restroom looks much nicer. The staff are very friendly and helpful plus I have always liked Asian women. They are unique and have wonderful qualities . Its been about 4 years since I have been here to eat.I think for the fresh and high quality food and great service that the buffet price is very fair. Hope we get to come back this year and eat again.It would not allow me to add the photo. I was lucky to be able to get back to here to finish my review. Good food for the price. Excellent selection! They need to start putting smaller portions on the hot bar. Sometimes meet is a little dried out. But besides that excellent food, and clean dining room. I do recommend giving them a try.

Went here for the first time because it was close. Weaker selection when compared to other buffets, but still decent. The food was hit or miss. The bourbon chicken was moist and delicious, but the pizza and chicken my son ate were so dried out, they could have been left over from yesterday. The Chinese grill area was closed, so that wasnt an option. Service was good.

I always enjoy the food and service. I have a disability that causes me to get dizzy and sometimes stagger. They dont know me or my name but when I stop in they make extra effort to keep an eye on me and help when needed. The prices are good for me. $15-$25 per person. Your no hungery when you leave the buffett.

Can we just talk for a second about how great this place is? The people are kind, the food is cheap, its not high end but who cares its almost always fresh, fantastic chicken Wing, noodles are great rice is great, butter seafood and green beans are a knockout and the BEST egg drop soup in des moines. I live close to this place so I buy, soup honestly a lot lol but Im happy to contribute to a local business full of nice people who can really throw down on the americanized Chinese food! And they dont judge me for pretty much subsisting on their egg drop soup. Trust me, Ive tried it everywhere in this city. Theirs is the best. Wings, too! Yummm!

Its a nice place, clean, friendly staff, fair price, and they are quick to restock the buffet. Food is ok for a buffet but not as good as a normal sit down restaurant.

I call this marvelous place once a month as I like the special atmosphere that is outline this place. The staff is extraordianrillyremarkably helpful and professional. The service is certainly fast. Not to mention, the food they serve is perfect. I frequent many times and I was always satisfied. The price is fair. I suggest this restaurant to to everybody.

The variety of dishes from the must have pot stickers, to the always flavorful Happy family are my familys favorite Chinese restaurant in the city. The service is always top shelf. I love the food and the family that owns the restaurant are truly wonderful, friendly people. I have literally eaten there over a hundred times and it is very clean and the food is consistently good - always! To the reviewers who complained about COVID mask wearing; what restaurant can stop people from taking off their masks? That is an unfair criticism. They have many signs and it is clear they do everything to follow the rules.

Whenever were in the mood for Chinese buffet, this is the place. Whether lunch or with the family for dinner... never disappoints. This is my daughters favorite place because she loves the sweet and sour chicken... without the sweet and sour sauce. I told her that makes them just chicken nuggets... and she said that she knows that but likes them anyway. Good sushi and Mongolian grill. Reasonably priced.

My rating is based on Covid-19 safety guidelines. My family and I typically enjoy New China. Their food is always amazing, and even with our last experience during covid, the food was still great. Unfortunately they did not follow guidelines to keep their guests safe and healthy during this difficult time. Sanitizer was offered at the door but not required, gloves were offered at the buffet but not required while getting food from the buffet line. The biggest bother to me though, masks were required but absolutely not enforced. The place was quite busy considering the situation and more than half of the customers were getting food without masks on and the staff did not have anybody put their masks on. I was highly disappointed that the staff didnt take the appropriate measures to keep their customers safe. I honestly felt I was going to leave the place testing positive with the virus. My family and I will not return to the buffet until the virus is under control or until the company takes the virus more seriously.

Food is always good but as of lately with the virus and cdc recommends you wearing a mask when not sitting an eating, I am disappointed in how many people are allowed to enter the restaurant an around the food with no mask, they really need to push the mask wearing especially in a buffet setting. I wont be back until this covid thing slows down, china buffet you really need to enforce the rules your losing customers because of it.

Been here 3 times and it seems they care less and less each time. half the food was old mixed in with the fresh so you could not tell before you bit into it. wait staff was not rude but impolite
