I am a huge fan of Ace. I go to this location on colfax often. I live halfway between this location and the one in Hoffman heights.Today’s experience might push me towards the one on 6th ave.I had an arm full of things including a long piece of weather stripping. When I was coming around to the cashier station both cashiers were doting over a dog brought in by other customers. I don’t mind this, I like cute dogs too. But this kept going, they talked about the dog, how it wiggled, where they live to set up play dates, how much each cashier wants that same kind of dog. I waited. And they watched me wait. At what point does it become rude? Does it take two associates to pay attention to one dog?I think I’ll give Ace on the Fax a break and do my shopping elsewhere for a while.

I have no idea why people waste time with HD or Lowes. Ace has people who actually know what youre talking about and how to find it in the store. Theyre locally owned and operated. Every time Ive compared prices, theyre nearly identical. Now that Ace has decent inventory management, researching online and buying for pickup is possible. I go a little out of my way to do business here.

I cannot say I would suggest this ACE hardware the ACE on the FAX is not good for service as I needed 2 items I showed up at 5:55P MST they close as 6P. I would have been done in 4 minutes most. They close their doors ahead of time so that no one can enter the store. There is no purpose for store hours when they are honored.They did not open the door for me but they opened the door to tell these people that showed up later than me I have no respect for this conduct.

Everyone loves a good hardware store, this one in particular is EXCEPTIONAL. Ive worked for a number of hardware stores and you cant beat this one. The inventory is AMAZING, online ordering is a breeze, and the staff knows what theyre talking about, EVEN WHERE TO SEND YOU IF THEY DONT HAVE WHAT YOU NEED (which I highly doubt). If youre shopping anywhere else youre wasting your time.

This place goes above and beyond! I had a flat tire and had went to 3 different places that had the air machines to fill my tire before it went completely flat! Well it did (unfortunately there was an issue with all 3 of the air machines in this area!) and I happen to be near this hardware store so I pulled into their parking lot and called to see if maybe the sold the portable air pumps to get my tire going. All they had were the ones for bikes however they did carry fix a flat! So when I called I explained to the young lady over the phone what was going on and she said shed send someone out to assist me since I had my fur kid with me (I wasnt about to leave him in the car as hot as its been outside!) so I waited maybe 2 mins and someone came to help me out! I wish I would have gotten this young mans name cause he went above and beyond and took my cash, went and rang up the fix a flat, and came back out and put it in my flat tire for me! I was highly impressed and so grateful and will be sure to pay this forward for you young man!Thank you!

Ace on the Fax is the epitome of why I will only shop small stores rather than large box stores. In addition to employing courteous and knowledgeable people Ace on the Fax has always gone the extra mile to insure my projects go smoothly. The store manager, Juel, has taken incredible time to verify his customers are always handled in a professional manner. I know I can always count on Ace on the Fax!

Yes, it’s a hardware store. It offers convenient parking (important on Colfax), friendly helpful staff and a great selection of the things you go to a hardware store for. Since the pandemic, we have been to the hardware store more than ever. When you are home 24/7, you notice a lot of things that could use a little attention. If you live in the area, consider Ace on the Fax before driving to Home Depot or Loews. It’s a great experience.

3/10/2021 @5:00pm i was profiled and denied service. My purchase was on-line and paid for with my credit card. This happened 3/7/21 in this ACE as i was making a in store purchase also. It appears black men are not welcome inside this ACE location. Whats this all about? Why deny me services? I had money and business in your store, and was informed by your cashier to check with the attended at the rear service counter whom did walk away, never to return whilst 3 other reps refused to assist with finding items I ordered online. And after about 30min of searching for assistance i finally found the 1-store associate(male) willing to assist which is when i express my concern about being denied service in the store and not receiving assistance with my online order. He found my order of course! But to receive No Service as a paying customer due to race or otherwise is the wrong business model and should not be accepted, condoned and never allowed within the communities we share and spend our money and lives in. Im disappointed, hurt and cannot believe ACE accepts, encourages hate in its stores. All i did was made a choice to shop at ACE and was denied services ACE offers online, by ACE staff

Juel and Zach delivered a grill to our townhome today, skillfully navigated narrow spaces and a flight of stairs for a perfect set up. They were friendly, patient and professional. This place has everything! So impressed by the selection. The costumer service was fantastic. I was asked by everyone if I needed help. Long haired guy made the paint for me. Poor warranty service on Craftsman hand tools. After presenting a defective craftsman ratchet wrench for warranty the manager first refused to exchange complaining they dont get reimbursed for doing so (not true), then saying they didnt have the exact wrench but then saying they had two on order, to come back the next day. I arrived at 6p the next day (their closing time) and they wouldnt let me in. The following Saturday I arrived and different manager said they dont carry it, its not on order, they cant help me and sent me packing with a busted wrench and not even a suggestion of any kind for how to fix problem.Very poor attitude and customer service.

This has been our ACE store to go to for the past 6 years. We used to live in Lowry and if I had questions on how to fix minor/simple maintenance issues around our house I would head over to Ace on the Fax. Here is an example of why I shop and will continue to shop this store. The screw for my Honda key fob worked itself loose and disappeared. I went to Ace on the Fax, and told them my issue. I also explained since I left my glasses at home, could they help me locate the screw for the fob. It took 15 minutes to find the right screw and then the ACE rep got out his tiny screw driver and fixed my fob. I walked out spending only 39 cents for the screw and my Honda key fob is still holding tight. We live further away from this store now, but I travel the extra miles to keep doing business with this wonderful staff and ACE Hardware Store.

This place used to be about excellent customer service. The last couple experiences Ive had in here over the last few weeks have not been so. Today I was treated very rudely by the cashier for returning an item that I had every right to return. I let the store manager know, but it doesnt necessarily mean anything will be addressed. I will not be doing business with this establishment in the future unless customer service becomes a priority for the store.

Always helpful when I come in. I like this one better then others in the area... Its got a better layout and its easier to find what you need.

I dropped off my Traeger grill for repair, and was impressed by their responsiveness, and communication. I spoke to Juel who laid out the expected costs and process, and was able to get back to grilling in days (they said it might be 1 - 2 weeks, but crushed it much quicker). Well-stocked, always friendly and more than happy to help. Tons of gardening and barbecuing items, of course the expected tools and supplies, almost any type of fastener you could need in open stock, plus they offer key making and tool sharpening. Love a good hardware store!

Ive lived in this neighborhood for 3 years, every time I go to this location to find popular bolts, they are GONE. They dont restock and they dont care. Go to a different hardware store cuz this place honestly doesnt give a rip about restocking.

Talk about excellent Customer Service!!! I won’t go anywhere else!ACE on The Fax is farther from our house but Juel and his team have made it my only choice. I purchased The Big Green Egg for my daughter and her soon to be husband. The store Manager, Juel, made sure I made the right choice in size, and it was put together and delivered before they got married this summer. For Christmas, I wanted them to have the table for The Big Green Egg to sit in and have a very enjoyable experience grilling with their new family. Juel had the table put together and personally delivered it to them. He took the current Big Green Egg apart and out of the stand it was currently in and put it back together inside the new table. He was able to use the original castors but brought new ones just in case. He even stopped by the Distributer to pick up a cover so they could have everything they needed to grill on New Year’s Eve with the New Set Up.Juel, Thank you for making our experience so enjoyable!~Poppy

The staff at Ace On The Fax has been extremely friendly and helpful every time I’ve visited the store.

Helpful and courteous staff. Staff member Dennis took the time to help me, with finding and actually installing three different sized “O rings” on a plumbing diverter valve to make sure they were all the right fit. Simply spot on!

I cant thank all the staff enough. Every time I go into the store, there is someone knowledgeable to help me with my home projects. I just bought a new grill and was so appreciative of the customer service and delivery. I am hooked on Ace on the Fax and willing to pay a few dollars more if necessary. Thanks again!!!!!

Normally a great store but do not do curbside pickup. Placed order 4 days ago with no updates. Store doesnt answer phone (how do you notify them you are there??). Not sure they are setup right for this.

The employee here clearly work hard. Sometimes you have to wait for service but once someone gets to you they’re very competent and friendly. Better than Home Depot by a long shot.

Most employees were nice, save for one at the service counter. After I was done shopping I went back to use the restroom. I asked for a key please and the older gentleman at the counter said nope its broken go to Safeway I dont think he realized I was in the store with my friend who had JUST used the restroom while we were checking out and I for the life of me cant understand why he denied me using it and I dont think thats how you should be talking to customers no matter who they are.

This is always my first stop. Most often they have exactly what I need ( todays list was a replacement knob for a radio, rubber grommets to protect an electrical cord, and antifreeze for the RV water system) Ace on The Fax scored 100 percent. Best of all, if they dont have what I need, they are happy to suggest where I should go to find it.

We walked into this location last February on a Saturday morning looking to buy a Weber grill as a last minute birthday present for our father. The floor manager didnt blink when we asked to have it delivered in Park Hill the same day. Shortly after the purchase, Max called and said hed be by to deliver at 1PM. He was right on time and took an extra moment to introduce our dad to his new grill. Max and team, thank you for the excellent customer service!

We needed help getting the right wrench to remove the bike rack from the back of my car. Morgan the night manager not only got us the correct wrench, but made sure we knew how to use it so we could easily get the rack on and off. In an age where customer service barely exists it was such a pleasure to experience great customer service. Great job Morgan. We will be back!

I cant say enough positive things about this store and its staff. Theyre always friendly, helpful (which is why theyre the helpful hardware store, after all) and attentive. The store is always clean and organized with enough of a selection to fit my needs nearly every time I go in. Best of all, this place makes me look forward to going to the hardware store, unlike my dread when just thinking about a Home Depot trip.Keep it up, guys!

Amazing customer service. Bought a traeger grill yesterday and was amazed at how knowledge and helpful the staff was. From helping us make a decision to loading the grill into our truck every part of our shopping experience was great. Very happy we made the choice to shop at this specific ace hardware. Can’t beat the customer service from ace on the fax!! We were helped mostly by Juel but everyone else that helped us out was amazing as well!

No matter what I need to fix, or what my project is, they are able to help me find exactly what I need to get it done. They are courteous, helpful, and always try and get me the best deal. I love this place!

Simply awesome service. By the time you enter the door, there is almost always someone ready to help and get you going in the right direction. I rarely spend more than few moments here, but that is because the staff has got me geared up and ready to go in moments. Compare that to the time-sucking void that is Home Depot.

Made it a hassle to pay cash for the electrical tape I purchased. I dont put anything that small on a card.Your cashiers are either too lazy or too incompetent to let me know they cant take cash before they take it out of my hand. Second casher was obviously bored with his job, as he rattled off the script hes supposed to spout. I had to make sure to recount my change after his overly obvious, and further time wasting, act of counting out my change one coin at a time.Will not be doing business here ever again. Glad I learned this place was so bad before I spend more than a couple bucks here.

I reviewed this Ace in 2016, when I was in need of sharpening for our then-push-mower (see below). I have continued to use this hardware store because it is excellent. Most recently, we purchased an EGO brand weed trimmer and needed help getting it apart to get at the wire, which was stuck inside. Back in the small motor repair shop, Jacki helped us right away--and got it open. She then showed us how to avoid the problem in the future. What GREAT customer service. Five stars again. We wont go to any other hardware store (despite the fact that there are several closer to us). And--all Covid-19 precautions are strictly enforced. Love it.This Ace store sharpens non-motorized push mowers! I went to Power-at-Hand on Colfax, but they only sharpen power mowers--and they sent me to Ace on Fax. And what a large, beautifully organized and stocked Ace Hardware. It isnt the closest to my house by any means, but I may just go here from now on, for hardware needs.

We had been hemming and hawing over which grill to buy for weeks and it took only a few moments at ACE on Fax to choose our 650 Ironwood Traeger. They have tons of models from which to select. We found Juel to be particularly helpful to seal the deal and choose the essential accessories. This store is great in general for all your grill and gardening needs- awesome for growing your own vegetables too. Glad to have it in our neighborhood.

After calling everywhere I found the exact Stihl product I was looking for! Other dealers I called never returned my calls. Jackie was very knowledgeable on Stihl products and friendly! I will return for more equipment in the future despite living 30 miles away!!

I purchased a Traeger grill from Juel, who walked me through all the options, features and accessories. He knew everything one would need to know and was not pushy on selling.All of the employees are incredibly educated in anything you need! Will always go to Ace before any other hardware store!

Excellent location, knowledgeable staff, great customer service and product selection. Nice to have a hardware store close by that is well staffed. I have not had a bad experience since they opened. Nice to have this as an option over the larger do it yourself choices in the area.

I have been going to Ace for years and they are exceptionally good - this trip was to get help with a chain saw and Jacki Burns was wonderful - she was pleasant, professional, knowledgable and very good. I would encourage anyone who wants to deal with good people at a good store to use Ace - they are super.I was at ACE yesterday and watched Sarah deal with difficult customer - she was outstanding in handing the situation - the whole staff is knowledgable and helpful.

Large store, well stocked. Bill at the paint section helped us match a paint when the formulation had changed, he did not rush despite the counter being very busy. Much appreciated, the color came out perfect!

Not sure why I ever went to the bigger stores after being here. The staff take the time to understand your issue and work towards a solution. They are easy to get hold of and if they are not sure of something, they will find someone who is.

This is a great Ace! Its got a good variety of products despite being a small store. The staff are helpful and nice. Stuff does typically cost more though.

Imagine being greeted at the door and being asked May I help you find something? Thats what happens nearly every time I go to Ace on the Fax. So I dont spend forever wandering around a giant box looking for something. Are their prices cheaper than the boxes? Of course not, but theres more to value than price and Im willing to pay a little more to these fine people to receive the outstanding customer service I receive there. I love going to this store. I dread going to the boxes and fighting the big parking lot, tons of pedestrians and customers always in the way, walking from one end of the store to the other looking, looking, looking..... At Ace on the Fax, its park close, go in, get the things I need quickly and efficiently, pay, then get home. Wow, what a place!

Best screw/nut/bits inventory and one of the most attentive staff for a hardware store. Come here a lot for what I need. Be it paint, sanding supplies, screw replacements, keys, or outdoor supplies. This place has it going on.

The people here are so friendly and Im always in and out very quickly. Definitely beats fighting the crowd and searching through a massive warehouse at Home Depot

I have been in two emergency situations in the last 2 months--you all realize that with an older home--there can be emergency situations. Six weeks ago, I needed help with some pumps and Hayden helped me immediately. But today, when he was supposed to be having lunch with his wife, MORGAN spent 50 minutes answering my questions, and helping me with everything. HE IS BRILLIANT! And he understands customer service better than most in the world. I went into the store to buy a $4.99 hose connector and walked out with $114.00 worth of garden and lawn care paraphernalia that already have made my gardening life so much easier. Whatever Ace is paying him, they need to pay him double. He is that good!

Today I came in to rent a power washer. After bringing the power washer home I had some issues with it and had to go back to the store for the employees to take a look at it. Unfortunately, I let my emotions get the best of me and visibly showed my frustrations. I want to make everyone aware that the entire staff did an AMAZING JOB in turning a negative situation into a positive one. Justin (Manager) was calm throughout the entire situation and exceeded my expectations in making everything right. Justin and his staff are always amazing and that is why I choose to only shop at Ace on Colfax. Other shoutouts go to Gerardo who was very proactive in helping me. Any time my husband and I need something for our old house (and its been quite often in the past year), we come here. The employees here are the most genuinely helpful, nice, and friendly people, and they are why we choose this place over any other. They carry almost everything you could ever need from a hardware store--and then some--and whatever they dont have, theyre always happy to try to find something similar or make a recommendation on where to find it.There was one freezing cold night last winter where we ran out of air filters for our furnace. My husband drove straight to Ace, got there as they were closing for the day, but they still let him in to buy some filters and keep us warm. They treat you less like a dollar sign and a lot more like a human being.We love Ace on the Fax. You guys are awesome!!!

Great hardware store, not McGukins but still pretty good!

Had fuel line replaced on gas trimmer last year, and it worked for 2 months last summer. But this year never worked again, as I found out that they cut too many corners and botched the job. After taking to another repair shop they pointed out all the things they did wrong. 1) cheap fuel line hose 2) wrong fuel filter for my model ( which was clogged after less than 10 months),3) they drilled one of the fuel reservoir holes larger to put the wrong fuel line through ( which caused leaking fuel over time.) I cant trust these guys any longer, and their prices are extremely high compared to other places.

Was in picking up some parts, asked if they sharpen knives. The rep on the floor said yes. When I told him i was bring in a whole block he stated with so many i would get a discount. Went out to the truck brought the block in and the guys ringing me up said no discount. One rep defended the position by saying it takes just as much time, ( i am still trying to reconcile the relevance of the comment) and when I replied, it was offered I did not ask he just walked away. The guy ringing me up just said no discount. It has been my experience with this place since it opened that you get a mixed bag of attitude, my reason for making this a last option for any hardware needs. Just bad customer service.

Not impressed with the customer service. They wouldnt cut a key with me providing my own key blank. Not the helpful place.
