Leevers Locavore is always a fun place to stop in for specialty grocery items. My son loves going in too because they gave the mini carts for little people (which is of course a total trade off for the parent- although your toddler is having an amazing time you have to be on high alert to stop terrifying crashes into somehow only talk glass displays and random items from sneaking into said cart).I love their bread, especially the sourdough wheat baguettes. They seem to sell out almost every day, so I try to get there early. I also like the fact that they sell Pety Bird ice cream sandwiches- SO good! Also, the sushi from their sushi shop is super yummy! In addition, they have a great selection of beer and wine.

Left one of my bags of groceries at the register without realizing until 2 days later. When I called, the staff had kept my receipt and marked which items had been forgotten. The manager had all my items ready to pick up that day! Amazing service!

I love this place. Yeah, its more expensive but you get price and a small shop with great meats and produce, and all the rest. Then I would be able to drink wine then peruse. And the finest tortilla chips they have. And its super clean and the workers are always honest and polite. Thank you!

The staff here goes above and beyond for their customers. I had a very uncomfortable experience where I had an individual follow me into their parking lot, to wait for me upon exit. After I explained what I was worried about to the manager, they immediately helped me feel more comfortable and make sure I was safe. Not only do they have the best selection for fresh ingredients, but they have the high quality staff to go along with it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Prices are slightly higher than the average grocers, but my girlfriend and I know this going in; the extra cost is well worth the quality of product. They have the best cut of meats when we decide to grill dinner and great produce. For example, very often I feel burned by other stores after I buy avocados or fruit, but again leevers has had the best of each Ive purchased from a store.

Decent prices for a small local grocer and great selection of products. Try to support these types of businesses as much as possible. Any good neighborhood has a small local market, fortunate to have one in mine. Cashiers are very friendly.

Big issue with them building a bougie grocery over here in what has been mostly a food desert for the people in the Sunnyside neighborhood even if it is supporting some local brands. This spot used to be a discount grocer and while not that nice of a store - benefited more people in this neighborhood a lot more than this place. That said the burgers and $1 beers were very yummy on a Sunday afternoon while sitting on their porch. Also their staff was super nice and brought my dog fresh water + treats!

I have worked in grocery stores, meat department, for almost 35 yrs. Currently at one of the big companies. (Not going to say which):) and I have to say, I was really impressed when I stopped in here the other day to check it out. Everything was super full, bright, fresh, and beautifully displayed! Cheese area was awesome. And the meat department, which I always make a point of visiting, was a nice surprise in terms of variety, merchandising, and simplicity. I walked away thinking what a nice neighborhood grocery store. Kinda wish I lived in the area so I could shop here sometimes. Definite thumbs up. Peace

Cute place. Has a pizza place, sushi bar, coffee/alcohol bar, butcher, etc...you can grab a boxed sandwich, salad, or burrito from the fridge for a quick lunch. Glad to see it has finally opened. Great location, energy, creativity, and enthusiasm. The photo i attached is of the cappuccino i ordered. Sad work. They need to train their staff to make proper espresso drinks and buy better beans. Tiny cup, like a coffee vending machine.

Review №35

Talk about a rip off store. This place caters to young yuppies who have no clue what things cost. As a Chef of over 35 years, I know what the REAL Cost of things are. Their whole meat selection is grossly over priced. If you went to Edwards Meats on 44th and Ward you would get far better quality at a third of the price. If you use the App Vino, you will see that ALL their wines are between 2 and 3 times the national average. Better to go to Argonault.Their cheeses are all over priced. You can get the exact cheese at Krogers Flagship store on Spear near Colorado Blvd or the one in Greenwood village. They are listed as a Hispanic grocer, yet I saw NO Goya products. The dive grocer that was here before is a better catch with their produce, then what is found here.As a Celebrity Chef who tours the country, this place has worse prices then NYC, SanFran, or even Estes Park CO.

This place has good produce and a curated selection of everything I need. They carry real products, not just large scale corporate nonsense. Not just avoiding the family at some bar

Tr
Review №48

I keep trying to like this place and I hope it is able to survive. But after several visits Im not super optimistic. This really only pertains to the fresh produce area, not the other aspects of the store.- Iffy produce. I recently paid a small fortune for a bag of organic grapes (the cashier even sheepishly asked me if I realized how much they were). When I got home I realized that the grapes were filthy. Literally. There was dirt and mulchy gunk caked all over the grapes and even a cobweb winding around one of the bunches. I had to scrub each grape individually to get all the dirt off and even then I ended up pitching 1/3 of them. Organic is not supposed to mean covered in dirt. Attached is a photo of the empty bag and mud on my counter (90% of the mud was on the grapes not on the bag, so this photo doesnt begin to capture the extent of the gunk in the bag).- Hit or miss availability of produce. Theyll have what you need one day, but not the next. If you go in there needing 4 or 5 produce items, odds are theyll not have 1 or 2 of them. Frustrating. I asked the produce person about this and was told that the stores suppliers are hit and miss with produce, so they are frequently out of a lot common produce items.Hope this is helpful. I hope this place makes it. Its a very nice space for sure. Ill prob keep trying it, but it is frustrating to stop in for a few fresh items only to find that they dont have one of them. Its new and perhaps they will get the kinks worked out.

I’m grateful for this local grocery store! Leevers has quality products and a good variety. Really glad to have this in the neighborhood. Its extremely easy to get in and out without feeling overwhelmed. Its not huge, but still has a decent selection, and its good quality. Weve had really good luck with their produce. Its great that they really go out of their way to stock local products. It feels like a neighborhood market as opposed to a big box superstore. When they first opened I think they missed the mark on pricing their staples (milk/bread/etc), but have since gotten more competitive. Now Im able to do the majority of my grocery shopping here, and an added plus is I get to have a draft beer while doing so!

Visited recently and was not able to purchase the CBD concentrate Id traveled there specifically to buy to avoid online shipping costs. Manager could not figure out how to open glass case and then could not figure out who to ask/how to get help. Waited patiently about 20 minutes. Paid a whopping $9 for a small iced coffee from the cafe, where the barista was ambivalent and curt. Eventually left without tincture after manager disappeared. I am in awe of the flagrant show of privilege and classism this establishment exhibits, especially when you consider the building used to house a Save A Lot. Locavore? More like Gentrifiavore.
