Good truffle fries and tuna poke. The lobster roll was also delicious. They have gluten-free buns to put any of your sandwiches on. Our server Kyle was fabulous!

This place is awesome. It’s a gem nestled amongst a ritsy neighborhood. Reminds me of a beach side seafood shack in Florida. Great food and really good drinks all at fair prices. It’s happy hour all day on Thursdays so that means $6 cocktails which is unheard of in Wash Park.

Am going to start off with my drink the cinnamon Whisky apple pie cocktail...hands down the best drink Ive had in awhile 😋. Highly recommend it for my sweet tooth gals.Now, real talk the moment I walked in the lady at the front desk was definitely in a bad mood. She never presented herself, swung her hand over where I could sit then left 😳. I was shocked! Anyways, our server Jen was the most kind-hearted person ever. At least she made our night and did her job. Made a mistake on our order but made up for it in a click of a finger. Shes amazing!Foodwise, the swordfish I ordered wasnt my cup of tea. On the contrary, my friend ordered the salmon on the menu and she LOVED IT! So I guess its a hit and miss for me and in my opinion but would love to return again sometime and try the Halibut 😋

My granddaughter wanted seafood for her birthday dinner and it was number 21. This place is wonderful I truly enjoyed the lobster dip, so rich and tasty. The French fries were amazing. Although I didnt participate in the oyster slurping, everyone else truly enjoyed them. Glad to have found this place. A wonderful dining experience. A great place to celebrate or just pop in to for a drink and an appetizer. I will be back

OMG. Weve been looking for a seafood place for quite awhile. And we finally found it here. The prices are very reasonable, but the taste? Truly magnificent! I highly recommend it!

The food and service was good. However, the portion size was not comparable to other places.We ordered fish and chips and crab cakes. The fish was only bite sized, definitely not what we expected for an entree.

Everyone here is so nice and attentive. Also - I was surprised that they had such good wine at a place with dive bar kind of vibes!

This place is so comfy and feels like home. I ordered shrimp etouffee from here and if was delicious, just like the south. Our server was so friendly and nice. She was so kind. This place also serves drink and have a fire place. I am happy, that I went there. I hope to get more food from there, when dining in is back available.

MG&G has become a family favorite when were on the prowl for proper seafood in Denver that isnt sushi. For a city that has literal world class sushi its awfully difficult to find a good seafood experience that isnt inconvenient to get to or doesnt require the surrendering of an organ to the black market to pay for. Along comes Max to save the day. Everything weve had to date, including their service, has been excellent.Their wings are, oddly, quite good. We recommend the Maxs Gold varietal, a tangy, near-honey-mustard treat. The fried calamari, the crab dip, and the truffle fries are all delicious starters. None of us are into the oyster situation but we were assured by other patrons that they are indeed done well.As for the entrees, the seafood linguini, shrimp poboy, Maine lobster rolls, clam chowder, even the chicken sandwich all get high marks. TL;DR eat at Max Gill & Grill. Take someone you actually enjoy being around. Youll not regret it.

They treated our group really well. Good food, solid cocktails, and a festive atmosphere. If you want the back patio, be sure to specifically request it because we were first seated on the Covid street patio and it was not pleasant.

Highly highly recommend this place. The customer service is above and beyond, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is perfect. Kevin specifically came out and sat us at a new table because our table was in an awkward spot. I made a comment and he went above and beyond to make us comfortable and happy. Andrew the bar tender (has devilish good looks cant miss him 🤣) took great care of us all night and have us free comedy. Ill be back for years to come. New favorite seafood spot in town.

Everything our table had was amazing. Highly recommend the Mussels, King Crab Legs, Ribeye and the Lobster Mac and cheese with the hatch green chili. Delicious!

Delicious parm fries. The Benedicts are awesome. Skillets were tasty, but take a bit longer so everyone else at the table had to eat their food a little cold while they waited. The lobster rolls are good, I dont eat bread but everyone said it was really tasty, like a brioche with a rich buttermilk taste. Its overpriced imo though. Atmosphere is classic New England coastal tavern- warm string lights, lots of wood, our table had a beautiful boat rope wrap. And theres a tiki lounge out back with some putt putt. Biggest complaint is that the turnover from night to morning didnt seem very coherent- our table was full of crumbs, they didnt have enough menus for everyone, there was only toilet paper in one stall, and only paper towels in one dispenser.

I went in alone and had a wonderful meal. Katie was an excellent server. Very knowledgeable about the local area. Great steak and grilled shrimp. The ribs were on special so I tried them too, excellent!

Mediocre seafood thats over priced. The authenticity of the dishes they prepare are so completely terrible in there attempt that its humiliating and embarrassing. The food is always cooked with the egotistical animosity and negative competition that fills the meal with bad energy. The front of the house is cool. And the cook Slai is awesome. Other that that. The place sucks and there food is extremely disappointing and not at all worth it

We have a reservation so we got seated right away.Our waitress was pleasant and attentive.We ordered 2 appetizers, 4 meals, and 1 kids meal, one soda.The fried calamari was ok. The mussels appetizer was awesome!We had Surf & Turf (really juicy steak), Grilled scallops (tasty!), Sirloin (juicy even though my mom wanted it well-done), and Shrimp & Seafood Linguini (was delicious), and chicken tender with fries.We got a surprise dessert for our birthday celebrant- 2 chocolate covered strawberries!Our bill totaled $138 before tip!Bon appetit!

Went here for brunch this past weekend, and was amazed at how quiet it was! We were seated at an adorable table outside, which was the perfect little nook for brunching! The Bloody Mary was great, and the Crab Eggs Benny was delish - I loved the kick the sauce had. Also, we all actually loved the decor and vibe as it was reminiscent New England coastal restaurants. Will absolutely be going back!

I only had 3 menu items, the crab cakes, calamari, and fish tacos. The crab cake and fish had virtually the same texture, very soft, no real destinct flavor. Fish was not flaky in the least. Calamari, not quite sure it ever broke down while chewing! Frankly nothing stands out as memorable the morning after, excluding my date!

The food was good. No where on the Happy Hour Menu does it say there is an upcharge of $2.00 for a martini. In addition, there is a .25 charge for olives. I want to thank our server Jenny for the explanation of the charges as well as 10% off our ticket. We appreciate Jennys service and kindness.

This place was so awesome for lunch we doubled back for dinner. Who knew wed fine such great food in DENVER(NO SHADE)!!!! HIley, our first server was awesome and suggested the Salmon and grits for dinner.. which I had... but lunch the lobster claw roll.... the roll was perfectly made. A soft, airy and filling bread. The avacodo based spread with corn.... those truffle fries...I HAVE NEVER...and scared to try someone elses...THEY WERE SO GOOD.

Honestly, this was one of the best meals Ive ever had. We both ordered from Chef Robs Selections and it was amazing. I had the pepita crusted salmon and holy cow...incredible! My date had the swordfish which was equally incredible. My only regret is that I had discovered this restaurant before I moved away! 10/10

The best Lobster Roll I have ever had!! Stuffed full and on the right bread. Perfect! My friend had the whole Lobster and it was served with the claws removed and the tail cut for easy devouring!! We LOVED our food and the owner was so nice and gracious. I plan on going again asap!! Top notch!!!!

Slow service. Place is a bit run down. Food was very mediocre & frankly bland. Very Pricey for proportion and quality. Bay seasoning shrimp are way over seasoned. Kids salmon and salmon dishes are very small proportions and flavorless. Clam chowder was very different from traditional clam chowder. Not very good. Oysters are way over priced at $3/4 a piece. Caesar salad and crab cakes again.....bland. Overall, would not go back. There are better restaurants and better seafood restaurants in the metro area. Can’t believe this place has such good reviews. Baffling.

We love this place, so much so that we went twice in the same week...everything is usually great but this time the sevice left A LOT to be desired. My husband and I were wishing we had been seated in a different section because we noticed how attentive the other servers were to their tables...our waitress was MIA from our table. She didnt bring our food out, after she took our order and brought us our drinks, we didnt see her again until we were halfway done with our meal, the person who brought us our food didnt ask if were ok/needed anything else. Our waitress brought our check then went MIA again, she didnt take our payment or bring us the receipt. I dont know what the issue was but not okay for the price. Yes they were busy but again, the other waitresses had no issues being attentive to their tables, my husband said he saw our waitress go to other tables mutiple times, and we were just there the previous Monday and they were shorthanded (only 2 servers) and the service was great!

I love this place. The seafood at high end restaurants is definitely better, but the food here is still really good and reasonably priced. Atmosphere is 5/5 and they have different specials every day, with great happy hour deals. One of the best oyster bars in Denver as well.

We are in love with Max’s. The food is fantastic and the people who work there make it feel so welcoming and fun. She loves the Cioppino and Chicken. He is a huge fan of the Ribeye and burger. A true neighborhood hotspot with a great bar - Dan and the team will take great care of you.

I give Max Gill & Grill located at 1052 S Gaylord St, Denver, CO 80209 FIVE STARS. Has always been a great spot to go and enjoy a chill staff and good meal. 5️⃣ 🌟S real good oysters for being so far away from the sea.

This is a quaint shabby chic place. While its cold out now, it has roll up doors in the back to maximize enjoyment of Denvers weather. The service was nearly impeccable in Valentines and the food was delicious. Theres something for everyone. Dinner for 2 with apps, alcoholic beverages, and desert was under $100. I would have gladly paid more. A fantastic value.

Menu is slightly smaller than it used to be, but the food is all still amazing. The front patio add-on is well built and decorated. Reservations recommended; I used OpenTable.

Tonight was date night and we didn’t choose our usual 3 spots. We opted for seafood at Max’s and let me say the service and food was amazing. My lovie and I will be back and it is most thanks to Jeremy an awesome server with great hospitality. Thank you for treating us so good. We will back with Max’s now in our 4 restaurant rotation! LOL

Seafood and the scene here is above par. The food was so savory. I will be bringing friends next time. Atmosphere is similar to a place in Columbus I loved.

Post-change in ownership, this is still a go-to staple. Brunch menu is largley unchanged yet some items have been tweaked and improved. They are trying out a bottomless mimosa bar, which is a nice upgrade.

AMAZING! Came for restaurant week, been trying to come here for the past year, but was a bit hesitant. Im so glad I did. Jeremy was one of the best servers i have ever had. He was attentive, knowledgeable of the food and drinks, loved the suggestions he gave, good with tending to allergies. He and the food are the reason we will be coming back to try their regular menu. 11/10 recommend!

Service was slow. Sat for 10 minutes before even acknowledged. Would have ordered more than appetizers but only saw our waitress every 30 minutes. Literally. I know because there was a big clock on the wall over my boyfriends shoulder that I was tracking the while time. Food we did get was....meh.... Staff was more concerned with partying together in the dining room (and kept yelling across the restaurant to each other). Only good thing about this place was the friendly hostess and the music. Restaurant could be promising if there was some type of management presence to get some service standards in place.. Kind of surprised they werent around on whats typically the busiest shift for restaurants. Bummed they didnt even wish my boyfriend a happy birthday. The hostess mentioned it when I sat down (I arrived first) and I told the server too but not even a happy birthday to him and werent even asked if we wanted dessert (which we did not expect for free anyway) but at least ask!

Enjoyed dinner tonight with their reopening guidelines. I appreciate they took distancing, cleaning, etc seriously while providing great service and food. Shout out to Jeremy our server who did a fantastic job.
