First of all, I am on Medicare. I was treated okay, but I asked not to have my eyes dilated and the doctor stated he couldn’t give me a proper exam without dilating them. So I agreed. Then it was time to pick out a pair of frames. My first mistake was to listen to the male staff person. He directed me to a pair of frames “he” thought were perfect. When I picked up my glasses, they adjusted them and sent me on my way.Little did I know I really couldn’t do any close-up work of any kind. I then called them and set yet another appointment to have my eyes re-examined. They then ordered another set of lenses telling me would be what I needed. They called and I set another appointment and went to get the new lenses. The staff didn’t know how to put in the new lenses and I waited for a very long time. When they finally got them done, I tried them on and they still did not do what I needed. I was then told the frames were not going to work for the vision I needed and was told I needed to spend another $400 for a complete pair of new glasses.I’ve never been so disappointed in a service like this before.
I have been going to American Vision Center for several years now and I absolutely love the staff! Theyre professional, kind, knowledgeable, and very honest. Dr. Terry (I cant remember his last name) is amazing! He not only is great at the accuracy his job requires, he knows a ton of information in other areas of our bodies, like functional medicine! If he has time, I love picking his brain. Mo at the front desk has great customer service skills and makes people feel special by remembering personal things about each client. James, who takes images before you see the doctor has a great sense of humor while staying professional. Hes also great at picking out the right frames for your face and will give honest feedback. Which I dont know about you, but I very much so appreciate! I will never go to a different vision place and Im so happy I found them! I HIGHLY recommend going to American Vision Center!
Awesome customer service! Highly recommended.
Excellent service! Great communication, and wonderful staff! I look forward to my next visit.
Small family owned staff. Everyone is so professional and polite and makes you feel so comfortable. The doctor who provided my exam was cool to talk to and I had a fun experience. Definitely recommend!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, doctors are also amazing and my optometrist was happy to answer all the questions I had. The staff is super nice, and they got me new lenses for a pair of sunglasses with a manufacturing defect no questions asked, and it only took like a week. They also dont try to upsell you on stuff like every other optometrist Ive seen.
Wonderful staff, friendly front desk staff! They were able to get me in the same day I called. Dr. Trinka was wonderful and patient with my 5 year old son when I had to take him in for a medical eye appointment. Thank you ALL!
Ive been going to American Vision Center for years now and never once had an issue with anything. The staff is so friendly, I can get an appointment thats convenient for my schedule and my glasses and contacts always come in in a reasonable amount of time. The doctors are thorough in their exam and genuinely care about your eye health!
An alright location, nothing special. (You need to be amazing to get 5 stars.) I forewarn people that it will be typical: dont expect to be able to call and have your information readily available or to have clear explanations at hand. And while they have never been rude, I also dont find them asking me for my input. Yes, I have high standards when paying people. Shocking, I know.Also... WARNING! This a medical location where you have to go up a narrow flight of stairs? I can handle it no problem, but many people cannot. And being a family location? It might be a bit tough for a mother with an infant and her 4-year-old.
What an amazing team and office! We came here for the chromagen contacts to correct my color deficiency to pass a vision test for my career. My wife had called about a hundred eye doctors across the nation to try and get me into an exam and get the contacts in the very short time frame we had. Dr. Greenstein and staff went above and beyond to get us in, being very flexible with scheduling us since we would be flying in from out of state. They also found another eye center with the contact lens in stock and Dr. Greenstein went out of his way to drive there and back to have the contact lens in hand for me to take home that same day!! I passed my eye exam with these contacts and am now hired! This team saved my career and we cannot recommend them enough for all their effort and help!
I walked in on a weekday just before closing and the staff was very inviting and knowledgeable. They repaired my sunglasses at no charge and I was able to schedule an appointment within a week for an exam. After my exam, my glasses were ordered and received in less that five working days! I highly recommend American Vision Center on Broadway!
They doctor was both competent and nice but ended my engagement on a sour note. Dont buy contacts from them. They keep a pair out of the box for themselves to replace the sample set they used to fit you with. I was never told that when I bought them. Ive never encountered this before. I feel like they stole a pair of lenses from me.
Unfortunately, I had to give this location one star. The staff and eye doctor are extremely friendly people, but the experience I had was absolutely terrible, all around. To start off, this was my first time going here, so it is understandable that there would be some hiccups. However, an eye appointment should never take two-and-a-half hours. One of the factors that led to this elongated appointment was that their only computer for the eye exam went down for approximately 30 minutes. After that was fixed, we proceeded with my eye exam. The eye doctor questioned my readings on the chart, so I informed him that I still had my contacts in. Typically, I take these out from the very beginning, but was never instructed to do so. Once he realized I still had my contacts in, he decided he would take them out of my eyes himself...this doesnt seem like standard practice and is just outright disgusting. He said his hands were clean, but I could have just as easily cleaned my own hands. To try and keep this short, he then proceeded to test me for every eye disease under the sun. I like the thoroughness that was given, and he seemed well educated, but at the end of the day it seemed like they didnt have much business and he was simply bored. Also, he partially dilated my eyes. I have never had my eyes dilated before, so I was unaware that the drops would burn like hell. After he put them in I cringed a bit, to which he responds, Oh, it only burns for 1 out of every 3 people. Well, its safe to say I fall in the lesser of the category. My last complaint is the lack of communication between them and myself. I did not realized that I was currently wearing monthly lenses, and told them that I typically wear two week lenses. They still proceeded to order the same lenses I was currently in, which means Im now stuck with a six month supply of lenses that do not work for my eyes. Their suggestion was to order some new ones out of pocket. Maybe they dont realize that contacts are upwards of $160 for two boxes?I highly recommend looking elsewhere.
I was a first time patient at this practice and was very happy with the experience. they were able to squeeze me in quickly and the evaluation was thorough and speedy. the staff and doctor were very nice and the price for my evaluation was one of the most reasonable ive found. i was getting contacts but they have a nice selection of frames too so I will be back for glasses. i would highly recommend this practice.
The service was great and the doctor helped me figure out the most cost effective methods of service for my insurance. The location is a little dirty, but that doesnt really bother me. I plan to keep coming back here
I have been going to American Vision Center for over 10 years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The Doctors are very competent and always provide a comprehensive exam. I would highly recommend American Vision Center.
I have been going to American Vision Center for over 15 years and they are not only top notch professionals, but they are also extremely nice people to have in our collective community. I recommend this clinic to anyone who needs excellent eye care and optometry services.
I was skeptical as first but once I went in for my examination I was pleased! The atmosphere is great and the staff are very helpful, kind and professional! I enjoyed the visit.
I called to make an appointment for a regular exam to get some replacement daily contacts and the receptionist that answered was so condescending and rude that I just told her to nevermind and hung up. She told me Id have to wear my contacts to the exam. I explained to her that I only have 3 pairs of dailies left, which I didnt want to waste, and thats why I wanted an appointment. She said I had to wear them in. I told her I thought that was odd because Ive never been asked to do that and Ive been getting contacts for 20 years. Her response: well....theres a first time for everything. Wont be going to that office!
I cannot leave a high enough review. I’ve been to so many optimestrists who just slapped on a prescription that never worked and said I just needed to “adjust” to them because they didn’t take the time or care enough to fully examine my eyes. I came here and the doctor did not stop testing until he found the root cause of my headaches and blurred vision. He recommended a completely different type of lense than I’ve been prescribed since I was eight- and two weeks later I’m typing this happily through my new glasses, able to see again without crazy headaches or blurred vision. I so appreciated that he actually took the time to find a solution. Not to mention the office staff is amazing! I had a very lengthy trip coming up and instead of waiting for delivery which would’ve come while I was gone- katherine drove to the lab herself to pick them up for me so I could have them before my trip. I can not recommend this place enough. They trult care and that makes all the difference.
Ive been a client of American Vision Center for over 10 years, and have always been very happy with the doctors, the staff and their service. The exams are thorough and my contacts always work great. I would recommend Dr. Trenka and AVC to anyone !
Absolute best group of doctors and vision specialists in the business in the Denver area. Ive been a client for over 10 years and even though I live out by Franktown now, I still drive to downtown Denver each year to see Dr. Greenstein, Jan and Kathryn. They have the right selection of products and always make me feel like Im part of the family when Im there.
I am going to American Vision at 26 S. Broadway for a few years . But I am so disappointed now because I went there 2 weeks ago for my eye check and they said they will order the glass for me . It takes 2 weeks for that . I wait 2 weeks and I called today hey said my order not been approved from my insurance. They should let me know earlier or right the day after I went there . I had a headache because I need the glasses soon . Waste my time and I will never go there anymore. Don’t go there
Great place my eyes are feeling better then ever before even though the doctor said I didnt have nothing serious on my eyes he prescript a eye drops and OMG my eyes are wonderful and I can say its worth it coming to this place.
I went today for vision check. The lady on the reception wellcome me with the theory that if my previous aye doctor give me expired medications is not big of a deal. She tells me that it not such a problem/mistake and if I actually used expired drops NOTHING will happen! Especially because they were expired only for 6 monts. She insisted that is not a big thing and even if I use it, will not be harmful for me!!! But in the end added,I suppose your aye doctor shouldve not given you expired medications. The measuring aparats were old. The reception lady which was a nurse make the first chech and tell me that I am Not very good, but she have seen worse!, make me feel very uncomfortable, during the 2 checks she did, Almost making me believe that I became blind since my last aye chech (2weeks ago) In conclusion after minute she tells me that I better have my glasses all the time because I dont see anything at all! New glasses that they offer, and i felt very uncomfortable here,i wanted to get over The exame, already knowing that i have to find a better doctor, a better specialist who takes my ayes seriously. The doctor, did followed exactly the nurse advise. She did make very superficial exame with the lenses and in conclusion tell me that I have myopic view of -4,5 to boout ayes, prescribing me glasses and requesting me to see their options immediately. While che was doing the exam i felt so imbaresed that i wanted to walk away, but I felt unable to do so (I was ashamed and imbaresed). But I had aye check about 2 weeks ago with onother specialist, whom accurately check my vission and I had -2,25and -1,95. Honestly I personally see the different vision ability of my ayes. But this clinic couldnt notice that. The doctors said that the glasses they prescribe me will make me feel very uncomfortable first weeks, but I will get used to IT! And after they give me a glass prescription telling me that if I use it in onother optic,I shell after bring them to adjusts the glasses, that they will adjust them for free, insisting few times, making me feel like I am pressed and constricted to do as she says! They charge my insurance 125$(-25), and make me pay 2$! It was terrible and not professional services and I just wanted to live, but I had to wait for the doctor to sign the paper and in this time the nurse come back and try to make me buy some lenses 85$ starting price(in the other optics the lenses start from 45$)....Just felt not like humen, but a sheep to which they try to sell glasses in a very arrogant and shameful way....I felt so imbaresed and uncomfortable and I share it here, in order to safe to someone my same experience. I believe that when we go to doctor is to pay for solving a problem and making us choose what by hour personal opinion will fit us best, make us see better and feel more comfortable, not a business where you are pressed by rediculas speeches and actions. I share this in order to prevent other persons to have that same shame as I did.
My second visit here. Ill be back

You get what you pay for here: quality.
