Artistically lovely interior, simple & good menu, friendly barista, clean and well spaced tables along a long wall bench, and vegan options (which is what I needed). Really loved planting myself in this cute little cafe for a few hours while enjoying a special Spring drink “Strawberry Fields”, which tasted like chocolate covered strawberries…yum! Glad to find this little gem :)
I’m completely baffled by this place. My partner and I ordered 2 oat lattes and paid $17.00, and the drinks were gross. To add insult to injury, the barista was rude. If you’re going charge double what you’re competitors are charging in the name of workers rights, at least provide a good product and pleasant service. We’re workers too, and we’re spending our hard earned dollars in your coffee shop. We deserve to be treated with some respect and shown a little appreciation. Don’t lecture us on what the pandemic did to you. It’s done harm to many, including us. Be nice. Owner, stop bashing your customers that have legit complaints. It’s rude, unprofessional, and it’s just a terrible business practice. Are you trying to go out of business? I read your comment to another patron where you called them a capitalist, and just because they were unhappy with your service. That’s weird! If you’re ant-capitalism then why are you the most expensive coffee place I’ve ever seen? Telling people you’re doing it for your employees is virtue signaling and inaccurate. I’m betting you’re paying yourself nicely. Looks like you’re trying to make as much as you can with the least amount of effort with your businesses. But if I’m wrong, and if you’re being honest about all that stuff you saying, and if you’re going to stick to your strange beliefs, then shut it down and move to Belarus or Tajikistan. They’ll have jobs for you, a place to sleep, some food and free medical.
I always feel really awkward in these quiet indie bistros. I feel more at home shoving crumpled bills into a coffee machine in a dingy subway platform. Here, it was too bright and too many plants inside. The characters here were all well dressed and casually lounging. I felt conspicuous. Honestly youll probably love the place if you like white paint and muted cheerfulness.
Impulse stop after I forgot my coffee at home. Super creative open space. Nice barista. Not a lot of different things. Coffee and some amazing looking pastries. Community centric, all inclusive environment. Has a community free cold food pantry refrigerator outside.
I love this little coffee shop so much! If you are in the Denver, CO area you should check them out. Yummy drinks and super friendly Baristas!
The cutest coffee shop! Ge true chocolate croissant, you wont regret it and you deserve it! Love the plants and the music here, great wifi and work spot!
It may be a little more expensive than most coffee shops, but the service is good and the company actually pays their employees a livable wage, so Im a fan.
Just moved to town and LOVE trying new coffee shops, this one however was ridiculous. The customer service was terrible and she seemed to be annoyed the moment I walked in. Very short with her words and not very accommodating. Also the prices are ridiculous for the quality of the coffee. I would not recommend this place. Try Allegro down the street :)
Service I received here was pretty much like getting the cold shoulder. The two girls behind the counter acted in such a way that gave me the impression that they were doing me a favor and that I wasnt worth their time to serve. That not being off putting enough the americano was basically water. My girl friend and I paid 10 dollars for(5 dollars each). We looked around for an outlet and there is virtually none except for the bar. Which we walked over to and set our selves up on. Only for the barista with buzzed sizeds to tell me the whole bar is her space so we cant sit here. Like we just paid 10 dollars for your water coffee and in return your snooty? How is this place even open idk honestly their yelp reviews are worst than mine. Terrible how their giving colorado coffee shops a bad name.
Love this Amethyst location! It’s a beautiful shop, the employees are always so friendly, and the coffee is great. Prices have gone up recently, but I think it’s awesome to see a shop supporting its employees and helping them earn a livable wage.Happy to keep supporting so that cute places like this stick around for me to keep enjoying coffee in. Thanks guys!
Staff is the best friendly and courteous helpful coffee is delicious and food is fresh
Great service, awesome coffee and cool atmosphere! Tip is automatically included and no drinks are higher than $6! Great deal! My favorite is their honey cinnamon latte, yum!
The moment I walked in, I knew i was going to love it. There are quite a few different seating options- bar, little sofa w ottomans, tables... rustic w industrial touches. Truly a dream to stop by for a coffee or nestle in for a work/study sesh. Oh and coffee is amazing! And baristas are friendly and go beyond and above to make you feel welcomed— after I finished my latte, I was given a glass of water. That was so kind, I thought. Overall — great service, amazing coffee, and had the best dulce de leche cookie (alfajores).
The coffee is not bad, but for $6-8 no thanks.. Its hard to justify paying that much when I can get a coffee just as good with similar ambience elsewhere for half the price. I cant recommend going here with how high the prices have gotten. Also, reading through other reviews, the owner is fairly disrespectful and dognatic towards valid criticism.
Way over priced. Too many great coffee shops near by to have to pay $7 for a latte. No thanks
Got my coffee to go (just drop light roast), but it is excellent. Inside is very nice and bright inside.Would have liked to buy a mug, but didnt see any available. The creamer is cleverly kept in a fridge, which I havent seen before.Definitely recommend the coffee, top favorite in Denver.
Stopped in for a quick coffee and instantly felt at home. The ambiance is cozy and has plenty of places to lounge. Everyone was very friendly and a lot of care went into making my mocha. It was beautiful!! I was having a of a rough day, but I left there feeling a bit better. Thank you Amethyst ❤️
Unfortunately, I won’t be back after their 50% price increase. It’s a great place and it will be sad to see them go out of business for their price hike.... I would go often, but will now support other local coffee shops... bye-bye. 😪. I understand their concept for living wages for their staff, but the ridiculous $7+ for a coffee is absurd... so less business means less income, which equals laying off your staff and going out of business means no staff. So that completely negates your business practice......
Thoughtful coffee from seed to cup. Great staff and quality drinks. They also pay their employees a livable wage. ❤️❤️
Noticeably more expensive then other coffee shops in the area and not a ton of options
Coffee isn’t paid but the prices are ridiculous. They said drinks are priced this way in an attempt to creat a more sustainable model for employees during the pandemic and gratuity is included. Coffee is already over priced and is a very low up from cost. This “model” is just price gouging. Absurd.
Used to be good until they started roasting their own stuff. They dropped their rotating micro-roaster program and have since moved over to exclusively their own beans. Unfortunately they havent gotten good at roasting yet and their coffee isnt as good.Super sad about this as it used to be my favorite coffee shop in the area.
First, the barista was an amazing human, so to him, I see you and acknowledge you for that.2nd, the space is dope.3rd, I didnt order a drink, and this is why Im leaving a 2 star review: They add a mandatory tip. The latte I ordered was almost $10, and I had to ask why it was so high.Thats when he revealed the built in tip due to Covid. My experience of that is a gross energy. Its operating your business from a place of scarcity energy. A mandatory tip is a sneaky way to extract more $ from your customers. You get to TRUST your staff they theyll deliver an experience worth tipping, and TRUST your customers that theyll choose a tip thats aligned with them.He said he didnt have the ability to change the tip. I say this with love, thats a terrible response. I have a POS system for our business, and the owner has total authority to allow the customer to tip as they see fit.Thats why its called a tip.I get that this has been a tough year for some businesses. And, sneaky tactics to extract more from your customers is not the way to thrive. Thats shrinking your integrity to a scarce way of thinking. Please trust, let your customers decide, and Ill be happy to delete/ change this review.🙏🧡
What a joke I dont believe this 50,00.00 a year just like rolling pin bakery tried to do the same thing. Guess what they went out of business. 6.50 for a latte good luck. But dont say I didnt tell you .whoever the owner is.
$9 for a dirty chai...
I really wanted this place to be my new go to coffee shop as it’s walkable from my house but a $7 latte isn’t worth it. They charge an additional $2.00 for oat milk. So until they stop overcharging people that can’t do dairy I’ll be getting my coffee from one of the other local coffee shops in the area.Edit -- I have communicated back and forth with the owner via email and although I still dont think Ill be paying $7 for a latte I will see if there is another way I can support this business and I encourage you to do the same.
Go to coffee for the this neighborhood! Love the space, love the mix of beverages! Love the cultural support, they stand for what they believe and I stand with them!
Awesome coffee, fun staff, and great lighting! The building its in has a lot of cool shops/restaurants. Espresso drinks are always perfect, and its a great location.
One of the best coffee shops in Denver. Excellent drinks, friendly baristas, and cozy decor. They also regularly carry delicious goodies from Beet Box.
Awesome, friendly, professional staff. Great chai lattes. Great place for conversation with a friend or to chill & read a book, work, school work etc. Glad to see this place exist at this location. Fantastic addition to the Berkeley Park neighborhood!
The best staff. Incredible coffee. Atmosphere and experience make this neighborhood coffee shop my weekend go to! Oh and very delicious cashew milk!
Simple, bright, warm and beautiful coffee shop! Really good coffee and pastries, love the decor, barista was very friendly and helpful. Also love their idea of keeping milk/creamer in a cute little mini fridge. Definitely will be back!
This place has some of the best coffee in the area. Very thankful that they opened a location in this part of town. Easy to find parking and staff is super friendly --major pluses in the modern coffee game, no?
Really wanted to like this place, as Id heard good things from friends about their coffee, but my two visits there left me underwhelmed. The place looks awesome, but doesnt have a lot of seating and it gets loud fast. More importantly, Im morally opposed to paying $4 for a cup of drip coffee when I can get bottomless cups from 2 other nearby shops for under $3. Last but not least the baristas both times (different people between my two visits) where rather rude to me and others I saw order. Not rude enough to say anything, but enough that Id rather spend my money elsewhere.
This is a classy joint with exposed rafters and brick walls while still having a comfortable feel. Lots of natural light and the owners serve up the delicious coffees themselves. Music is top notch as well
The coffee is tasty and the space itself is absolutely beautiful. I love the decor and feel of this coffee shop; however, it’s really difficult for me to justify paying almost 8 dollars for a latte (because oat milk is 2 dollars extra-oat milk is expensive, but i can buy a carton and make at least 4-5 drinks for $4) when I can get a latte that tastes just as good for half the price close by. i understand that cost of living in denver is high and the workers need to get paid a fair wage, but it’s just not a price that i can justify at the moment. also, i’ve been in more than once to give them a fair chance, and each time the staff has been rude and seemed annoyed of the customers. maybe i’ve just gone on off days, but the combination of unfriendly service and high prices has made me decide that it’s just not the place for me.
Excellent coffee in a lovely neighborhood joint. Quiet friendly vibe on an early afternoon visit.
This place is so sweet and warm, the energy in here is wonderful and its a great place to stay and get some work done. The coffee is top notch!
Bright, open coffee with with delicious coffee and espresso. A great place to enjoy some coffee with several seating areas, a table, and overall comfortable lounging.
Overpriced compared to competition. Staff is rude and has no drive to provide decent customer service since they don’t get tipped anymore. Owner is rude to anyone who criticizes them.
I love the way Amethyst works to disrupt the coffee industry to make room for all. Such a great shop, with great staff and really warm service. You can always count on them to source some of the best coffee from around the country.
The barista was plain rude to the point where we decided to not even place our order and go to another coffee shop instead. It is important learning basic social skills like saying a simple Hello before criticizing your patrons for taking a picture of their friend in your coffee shop.
Great place with a decent amount of seating for the space. Excellent location and attentive, kind staff.
Elle and tea do it again! Great space: bright and open, with groovy decor. Excellent caffeine delivery systems in all their myriad forms.
It is a really beautiful space. The barista had a very odd, awkward, unwelcoming vibe, even tho we were the only two ppl in the place? Normally I would drink my coffee onsite but I took it to go. Ordered a cappuccino and it had zero froth, so I ended up with an expensive half size latte instead. Its close, and female owed, and I do like the Broadway location. Ill prob try it again but overall I was sadly underwhelmed the first visit.
Dope! Awesome service really cool little shop.
Cutest coffee shop Ive been to! The coffee was great too :)
The only non dairy creamer was cashew milk, which is okay, though I wish there were other options. Super friendly staff, lovely atmosphere as good coffee 🤙
Amethyst Lakeside is thoughtful, inviting, and warm. The space is fabulously chic art deco and theres a nice variety of seating. Amethysts owner, Elle, is often in the shop working and being bright and bubbly with everyone stopping in. Every time Ive been to this Amethyst or the Broadway location the employees have been welcoming and respectful, its my favorite place to bring visiting friends to.I almost always get their Milk Oolong tea, its like drinking a candle, its so comforting and they serve it in a tea pot so it spans a good hour of hanging out working or reading. I also love Amethysts seasonal specialty drink menu that the employees come up with. My favorite has been the Misobama- hot chocolate with miso- the salty/sweet combination you didnt know youve been missing. I appreciate that theres always a non-coffee option.Amethyst is a leader in Denvers coffee shop scene and I highly recommend checking it out!
It was shut. So I went to 7-Eleven instead
Beautiful space, excellent products, and kind service. What a great place!
Stopped in for the first time this afternoon after hearing such marvelous things about the shop. I had a one and one and a Short and Sweet. Our barista was Eliza. She absolutely killed it and my shots were beautifully extracted and her milk was perfectly texturized for my cortado. The Short and Sweet is an insanely amazing drink with lots of different flavors throughtout the drinking experience. I will definitely be back for the fantastic quality of my beverages and the wonderful and knowledgeable barista. Great job guys!
Really good coffee! Cute space.
Quality product, good atmosphere, and excellent customer service!
So excited to have a great coffee shop move into the neighborhood!! Amazing coffee and service and space.
Is there anything women and coffee can’t do? Always a pleasure to enjoy the coffee, conversation and vibe of Amethyst.
Nice atmosphere. Full of sunshine and modern boho vibes.
Cozy cute new coffee shop in the neighborhood
Good drinks but $$$
Great place for computer work. Not much of a conversational place.
Its pricey but a great coffee and service
I would like to share an appalling incident this morning when visiting Amethyst coffee shop (lakeside) for the very first time. I was greeted by Winn and was asked if I would like to order anything in which I politely responded back with Im ok right now, thank you. The rest of my party I was sitting with had already ordered an ice tea, 2 coffees and a pastry after they informed me how persistent Winn was to taking their order. He later returned asking Can I get you something? in which I again responded Maybe in an hour, but Im ok right now thank you. He returned an hour later asking Can I get anything for you now? and at this point I responded No, Im ok thank you. I noticed he became frustrated with my response and said Well its been an hour! Not only did he begin to make me feel uncomfortable for not ordering anything or saying hi when I came in, but he loudly stated out of this entire coffee shop you are the only one that has not ordered anything! Jaw dropping to think your mission states We care about good coffee, taking care of people, and creating a space where people feel safe, seen, and heard, which was definitely not the case after being kicked out of the coffee shop feeling embarrassed and bullied by Winn. I stayed calm and mentioned there is no sign anywhere stating we had to purchase something to enjoy the coffee shop and space (even though my party ordered more than enough to compensate for our 1.5 hour time spent in the coffee shop). Winn was completely disrespectful, unprofessional, rude, condescending and repeatedly mentioned how he didnt feel compensated for his service. I dont understand why he is the coffee and maintenance representative, but he definitely does not uphold your mission statement or vibe you are trying to create in that coffee shop.
Creative specialty drinks and high-quality coffee in a beautiful space.
Fantastic spot to work and grab a coffee in the Berkeley neighborhood.
Light and airy, friendly service, very stylish, esp. for this state.
The best coffee and baristas in town. If I dont come once a week, my mental health suffers.
Nice place with plenty of seating.
Nice relaxing atmosphere
BE WARNED: They DONT serve pizza bagels...yet
Great coffee and vibes.
Great place, friendly
Chill place for a Saturday morning
Not bad
Great place
Caffeine, what else needs to be said?
Hip neighborhood coffee
Rich coffee, first class service, a lot of cleanliness, quality
