LIARS! CALL ANYONE BUT PROTECTION ONE. Had to get my dads house protected while it was being listed for sale. We only called them because my dad had already used them previously and still had the equipment there. We live out of state and explained to them that because we were selling the house, we would not be signing any contracts. No problem, but we do charge another $30 per month without a contract, the sales person says.We called five months later to cancel the service since we sold my dads house. I was told the salesperson we spoke with was mistaken and that we did agree to a 12 month contract. Nothing they sent me as proof of any contract actually says this but I suppose I should have had the sales person specifically put in writing that we could cancel anytime without penalty. They generically added my husbands initials to a very generic contract. They now want $700 to cancel the service. I would have gladly paid the remainder of the two months we used with them but they wont get another cent from me now. Since they werent smart enough to get signatures or social security numbers this will be hard to enforce. Also, I heard ADT has purchased them so watch out for them as well.Shame on them for taking advantage of a loved ones possessions at death as a way to screw people!

One star rating is too good for this company. They are a joke! I have ZERO confidence they could provide any service, and heaven forbid it was an actual emergency. We scheduled two weeks in advance to have them activate a system which was already installed. They no-call-no-showed in a four hour window during the week! It took FOUR calls to customer service to get a rescheduled time promised by a branch manager and they no-call-no-showed again! This time we couldnt even get a representative on the phone.

One of the worst company to spend money on. Very rude agents. I was going to give them 0 but i had to rate 1. Doesnt recommended at all.

Protection1 on its own was great. We were so unsatisfied with ADT that we switched to Protection1 and were very happy. Then ADT bought Protection1 and all has gone to hell. I am so disappointed with them now. I’ve spoken to them a minimum of five times, the exact conversation and every time they say it’s resolved then somebody calls me later and round and round we go. I’m so tired of having the conversation. Each time (sans one of my own scheduling mistakes) they schedule me for a four hour “window” of time that they willCome and do the repairs to our system that keep causing some of the issues (one is regarding payment). Yesterday, I stayed home, for four hours, more actually, probably close to six hours to be home for my scheduled four hour window (I was on the car phone speaker when we scheduled this last appointment and I have witnesses that know I scheduled it). I was told that the technician would call around 30 minutes before they arrived. Nobody called, nobody texted, nobody showed up.... at all. Nobody. They stood me up. Great thing is, this isn’t the first time, it’s almost every time. Do they actually have people working there or is this a scam? I talked to them about it this morning and the only thing I got in response was “You were never on the schedule. Sorry, but you didn’t schedule anything.” What?! I spent 30+ minutes on the phone just Tuesday, in the presence of two other people, SCHEDULING you to come yesterday. That’s only a one day difference. Do they even respect what it takes for people to be able to take off 4+ hours from their day bc companies have such a hard time actually having scheduled times? Look, I get it, it’s hard in jobs like that to set exact times, whatever... but if I’m taking off 4 or more hours for your “window” you sure as hell better show up. This has gotten beyond ridiculous. Do no waste your time or money on this company. ADT has always been a joke. Unless they can get their act together, I’m taking my business elsewhere. What was once a great company with good and quick customer service has fallen into shambles. It’s shameful.

This security system is a piece of garbage. Not only does it not call 911 when it is suppose to but it never records people at my door or in my yard. They sent a service tech who did nothing and now to get out of the contract, because if their fault equipment they are trying to charge me $1000.00. The cameras have allowed 2 people to steal things off my front porch and 1 person to try and break in on my back porch without a picture or a video of anything. The camera does record sometimes but its always of the wind blowing or nothing at all. Useless security system. Waste of money. Customer service is not helpful at all, they just try to rape you if more money with no resolution to your security system problems. 0 stars is what they should get.

When they installed the system my husband asked if it was a 1 year contract, they said yes. Then without showing the contract had him sign it. A few months later (after having them come out for the 3rd time to try to get their system to actually work) we found out it was actually a 5 year contract and they forged my signature on the contract Id never signed or seen.

Dont do it. Save yourself hours of wasted energy and dont ever use this service.
