These guys are amazing! I came to them for a special event idea and they were able to decipher my idea to create something neat! Through their trepidation, I convinced them to drill into a brand new Yeti cooler to build a jockey box. Not only can that box serve, it can also be used on the backside of faucets they installed on our truck. In the end, Steve and Curt rolled with the punches to finish my project two weeks before the event. I cannot wait to use them again as their professionalism is inspiring.

This place does have a pretty good selection of high quality brewing supplies and equipment, however, the guy who was working was quite rude and abrasive the second I asked him for help finding something. Real talk. Ive been a homebrewer for 14 years. Not as long as some but long enough to know what Im doing and long enough to have gone to the vast majority of homebrew shops in the Denver metro area. Ive got one other I like but Altitude is by far my favorite. The guy who owns the place is super nice and amazingly accommodating. I came in with my buddies and we made 12 gallons of cider out of about 250 lbs of apples. The owner helped us set up and gave us everything we needed throughout our cider making session. (Which was like 5 hours btw) We had an excellent time and even though several other brew shops are closer to my home, I will definitely be frequenting Altitude. Oh, and the location is fricken phenomenal. There are numerous professional breweries nearby and Altitudes storefront is in an old warehouse that has a very cool vibe. Beats the heck out of generic suburban strip malls.

By far the most helpful staff of any brew store in the Denver/Boulder area. These guys will spend as much time with you as you need to come up with recipes, look up info on their databases for you, give suggestions, walk you through the process, give you resources, and when youre ready, theyre more than happy to help you put together your ingredients (so you dont spend extra time searching the store for ingredients). Finally a brew store in Denver that is worth going to. Dan was amazing. He helped us brew a batch of beer and made it so fun and educational. My wife paid for a beer making class for just us. We were able to choose the type of beer and it turned out better than our expectations! We will definitely be back to make some more beer. This is pretty much my favorite brew supply store. The folks here are super helpful, very friendly, and so willing to share their knowledge. Ive brewed for maybe a decade, but Im definitely a noob at heart. A friend suggested we try cider making. We made our own press, but since we didnt know anything about anything, we went to Altitude to buy some supplies and look for guidance. We got both in spades, and ended up with two great batches of cider. Definitely check this place out if youre into brewing. And . . . though I havent tried them yet, I know Altitude offers classes for folks who may not yet be into brewing, but maybe want to be. So, check em out!

Altitude doesnt sell kits, but the guy working there helped me build and put together a recipe for the beer I wanted to make. A little challenging to find right now due to the construction on Walnut but once you do, youll be happy you did. Met the owner Craig and found him extremely knowledgable and helpful. Its clear he is passionate about this stuff. He even carried the pit barrel cooker we purchased to our car. Regarding the cooker, he had it for the same price as direct from the company and amazon. I had checked several other places and was surprised at how much some of those places marked up their prices. There was a nice selection of rubs and sauces and we couldnt resist picking up a couple. While we were there, I definitely scoped out the wide selection of brew supplies and it looks legit. He had some English Nut Brown on tap for taste testing that was nice. I will surely be looking into the brew classes. All in all a pleasant experience and a cool little shop that Im definitely going to have to visit again now that I know how to find it.

Review №58

Craig, the owner, is very knowledgeable and very eager to share that knowledge. Great selection of sauces and rubs for your next BBQ, and plenty of ingredients to choose from on the brew side. You can brew right there on the spot if you like (hes got all the burners and equipment for you to use), and theres brewing classes once or twice a month if youre a newbie. I picked up some injections for a brisket and Thanksgiving turkey, and couldnt be happier with the results. His product line is pretty solid.
