Love the selection here! The produce section is on the smaller side but you can find a variety of mushrooms that you’d expect to see at an Asian grocery store. I got everything I needed for some bomb vegan sushi rolls. They carry the inari tofu pockets which I’m super happy to find since I can’t seem to find them in any non-Japanese grocers.

Weve (my family) been coming here for well over 40 years. This gem has foods that you cant get at those other Asian markets 😊 like tsukemono, manju, specific brands of rice, and so much more. We love this family and this family business and they show their love for this community by always giving back. Youre treated like family here. You cant help but leave here with all of your goodies and, with a smile. Be sure to stop by! #SupportLocal

Used to come here as a youth with my mom, who was born in Japan. Visited yesterday and felt the wave of nostalgia from the fish smells, seeing the unfamiliar produce and hearing the automatic door open. Great store if you need items from Asia that arent sold at King Soopers, Whole Foods, Natural Grocer, etc.Pacific Mercantile Company sells housewares from clay pots for cooking rice (donabe) to rice cookers, and even offers a specialized selection of books. If you are looking for something specific, or want to try something new, stop by this market and support a local business!

I live in Montana, so it was super nice to find a market like this! Will definitely stop in again next time we come through Denver

I love this place and its fantastic customer service and products but I really have to express my disappointment and flat out disgust with the fish I was sold.I bought a pound each of salmon, albacore, and yellowtail on a Tuesday afternoon. The elderly gentleman behind the counter was cordial and welcoming. Both he and one of the ladies at the checkout reassured me that I was buying sushi grade fish.I got home 5 minutes later and unwrapped all three cuts only to find that the only cut that didnt smell immediately rancid and feel slimy was the salmon.Upon closer inspection I found that the yellowtail and albacore were absolutely not sushi grade, let alone appealing to cook to eat. I sliced a small piece of the albacore and yellowtail for a taste test and immediately spat them out and nearly vomited.I feel incredibly betrayed and hesitant to ever buy any kind of fresh food from this place.

Wide range of Japanese groceries and other goods (with a spattering of other east asian and pacific foods too). Prices are very reasonable and the staff are friendly. Beware that a lot of the packaging does not have english translations so it is usually best to have some idea what you want. The steam buns sold here are excellent and it is the best local source for east asian groceries in the area.

I love this market! My family has been shopping here for as long as I can remember - back in my grandparents day this was the only place to buy Japanese foods. Today, my daughters and I had the nicest experience with Jolie (hope I spelled that right) - she was EXTREMELY accommodating, friendly, and helpful. We even got to enjoy some taiko while we shopped! Thank you for continuing to serve the greater Denver community!

I loveeeee this asian market. The people that work here are so incredibly kind. I was really surprised. As weird as it may sound, I literally could feel a positive energy inside of there store. I dont know if it has something to do with the product selection or what the deal is. But for such a small asian market, the selection of items really shocked me. They have so many great options. Also, the prices were so reasonable. Especially for Tapioca Starch and Tapioca Flour. I am going to make a point to visit here at least once a week while I live in this area. Happy I found this place and highly recommend. My only con is parking. There is street parking and I THINK its free on Sunday? The sign says otherwise but I parked on a Sunday without paying the meter without an issue. Online it says Denver parking on Sundays is free so *shrugs*. Anyway, Love this place.

This is a fantastic yet small Japanese market that carries a wide range of items from Japan and other Asian countries. Although small and somewhat limited, their produce section is exceptional. This store has been here forever. It has the basic ingredients for Japanese cooking; it doesnt have helpful, chatty shopkeepers wanting to engage with shoppers to inspire and give them ideas for every day Japanese eating. Somehow Ive picked up a lot of the everyday foods and living but Id like more. Im mostly of Scandinavian heritage but a friend believed me when I once referred to my Japanese heritage … sure, Vikings went everywhere spreading their red hair (wasnt the Irish) and a were a melting pot but maybe not Japan.Enjoy the beautiful ceramics on on half of the store and the meat and fish cut, not as you ask but as it should be on the other end. It needs to be much larger and have a public restroom.
