Amazing store that had everything I needed!

I’ve drove 30min away twice to get to this location and both times it was huge disappointment. The owner never opens on time and refuses to open the door even if the business hours say they are open. They ask you to wear a mask but the owners and the employees don’t. Poorly run and unprofessional shop at your own risk.

Very nice place to stay at. We had a nice room king size bed very nice view of the mountain and breakfast in a sack. The bed and pillows were very comfortable .

Excellent if you want to get healthy they have lots of products there I recommend it all the herbs you can make teas out of they got my blood pressure and manageable range to where I dont even take blood pressure medication anymore Irish moss there is excellent so many health benefits

Excellent shop. Large variety of oils and miscellaneous items. They have catalogs to order cloths and artwork and African figurines upstairs. They also provided with address and phone number of a shop in Aurora which specializes in clothes ( womens, mens and childrens) I will definitely return to further explore storeThe homeless population nearby was a little unsettling

This place was bad when I first got there the guy told me I had to wear a mask even though I told him I already had my vaccinations and I never even had covid he insisted that I wear it anyway I dont know why black people are so afraid if they get the shot they dont have anything to worry about I proceeded into the dark house that they converted into a boutique only to be questioned how I found it how long have I been around the neighborhood and how did I hear about them and had I been there before it may be very uncomfortable I went upstairs to look at the dresses which is why I came there and there was one dress that was halfway made there was no seams on it or anything and they wanted $25 for it I found this place unappealing and undesirable so Im taking my hard-earned African-American money and spend it at another black store

I always love coming here and am so glad that this store is part of the community. I always meet someone new when I am here and end up staying for awhile to talk. This is where I get natural soaps, high quality castor oil and neem oil, as well as black seed oil and sea moss. They also have some locally made candles that are nice.

Akente Express offers a lot if what no one offers here such as amazing skin care and hair products, African art, beautiful African jewelry not to mention healing herbs, tonics and so much more. Smelled great. Lots of things to choose from. Now I know that as an independently business prices will be higher but some were outrageous and differed from person to person. There are rarely price tags and some of the cloth had hairs all over them. My biggest problem came when selecting Childrens outfits. After being quotes a price, I noticed the hat to outfit I wanted. The gentleman informed he could look for it but thats, All he could do. never altering the price. Meanwhile my friend notices every identical out fit has at least one some 2 matching hats. Come on guys if your going to overcharge for a thing fabric no tags and shaky seams at least have all the peices. 💁Store overall was okay but doubt Ill be going here very often.

Lovely place!!! The owner, Ron, Mike, and Akil (mixologist), are all wonderfully nice and knowledgeable about the products they carry and create. The location is easy to find and street parking isnt difficult, though I believe using RTD is easier. Pricing is fair and the selection is good. From the DC area on a trip to visit family, it was great to find a natural-based place that carries many things I use and be amongst good people originally closer to my neck of the woods and where I have more family(NY). I will definitely go back and recommend!
